• Cathy (7/5): Comfortable but floor cleaning fairy needed. - The room and location were great. Bed was comfortable and great to have good air conditioning and cooking facilities. Close to everything that we needed access to, so allowed us to walk where we desired. Unfortunately as the rooms are rented to mining staff, the floors were imbedded with coal dust and the washing machine was stained with coal. We coped with this by wearing socks indoors and refrained from washing our clothes, however paying $500+ a night, this isn’t really acceptable. Perhaps a good steam cleaning of the floor and shower floor tiles, and having the carpet cleaned regularly might be an idea.

• Lesley (9/5): Thanks Host Chris... - Friendly and informative Host. Location is most convenient. Linen was crisp, neat & clean. Local to folk we know, to catch up with... A stove top that didn't work. No doubt that'll be rectified by now. We were just the "lucky" ones who missed our dinner as planned.

The very beautiful Amy was amazing and took care of me on check-in and made effortlessly and the amazing Chris was around to goodbye. The room was perfect for our needs and we have decided that this will be our weekly stay in Moranbah. Location is central and it’s very quiet. Nothing. It was more then we needed or expected

• Paula (7/5): Accommodation and location great. Someone opening my door during the night - not so great - The staff were very pleasant and professional. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and well stocked with essential kitchen utensils. The area was quiet but there were several take away stores within a couple of minutes Security. Prior to going to sleep I placed a chair against my locked door. In the morning I noticed the chair had been pushed back away from the door. It was obvious that my door had been opened during the night. This was very disturbing particularly as I didn’t hear anything. I did report it to reception and suggest they check their security cameras.

The trip was an emotional and distressing time and the staff at Oaks Moranbah went above and beyond making our trip easier than it could have been, including an upgrade to accommodate another family member attending at the last minute. We will be forever grateful for their ongoing assistance during our stay. Nothing.

• Lisa (4/5): Very disappointing given the cost paid for 1 night - The location This is what I sent the property the morning we left. I have had no reply or acknowledgment from them regarding it. Morning team, we stayed with you last night and couldn’t see anyone this morning when we left (we left early). We stayed in room 220, paid $449 and were very disappointed with the room. It was not clean, tv and mirrors looked like some one had used a dirty rag to attempt to clean them. Shower in the main bathroom had not been cleaned after previous stay, old soap still in the shower and around the bottom of the shower was not clean. The outdoor furniture was a disgrace to even still be on the balcony, it’s is falling to pieces and absolutely not safe to use. The dinning room chairs are all pealing and leaving bits once sat on. I honestly cannot say disappointed in the quality of a unit we paid so much for. A response to this would be appreciated

Everything was cl - Modern and fresh decor and everything provided to make the stay very comfortable. Very comfortable bed, and appreciated there being two separate bathroom facilities. Parking very good and conveniently located. The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly and was an absolute pleasure to deal with.

• Indianamulder (10/5): Paradise In The West - Need to come to Moranbah for work and want a classy but reasonable priced accommodation? I highly recommend staying at Oaks on Bacon Street. Excellent and friendly staff, clean and tidy and large room complete with kitchen, lounge, huge shower in the bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Plenty of under cover parking and central to everything.
• Brett (10/5): - Very clean modern apartment. Comfortable bed and tv in bedroom which I appreciate as a lot of other motels/hotels have removed the tv in the bedroom. Plenty of parking available and walking distance to restaurants and pubs.

• gamain (10/5): 'Spot-on' - The Oaks was ideally located within an easy 5 minute walk to the nearby Moranbah Fair shops. Our parking was across from the lift for our accommodation on the 3rd floor. The unit had every thing we required for a lengthy stay, even though we were just passing through for the night. The washing machine for us was a bonus, after a few days of travelling in northern Qld. Our bed was comfortable, the wifi worked well along with good air conditioning. All up we enjoyed our brief stay.
• welltravelled4878 (8/5): Great service and lovely rooms. Amazing bed! - You only have to read my other contributions to know I'm fussy about bedding. The bed here is soft and comfortable and such a pleasure after the horrible night I had elsewhere last night. The Oaks group consistently have good beds. They just get it! Accommodation is about a restful restorative sleep. The only thing I can comment is they need to clean the remote controls. I often travel for business and always carry my own sterilising wipes because this is common at all hotels. Below is a picture of the wipe after cleaning the TV remote. For this I deducted 1 star in my rating. All in all a lovely stay and all hotel remotes are like this so make sure you travel with wipes

• Paul (10/5): Comfortable, convenient place to stay. - Nobody is going to write about the amazing views, but the Oaks is well located in the centre of Moranbah with easy access to to the local shopping centre and a number of local restaurants and take-aways. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is undercover parking. The apartment is spacious and comfortable with cooking and laundry facilities.
