- Jen (8/5): - It can be very noisy music and vibrating floor due to the night bar on top of the hotel which is kind mind blowing that they have such kind of arrangement. Not ideal! I was worried I won’t be able to sleep, but luckily Kyoto tired me out quickly. If you are a light sleeper, this is something to consider. My husband had no issue. Staff service was exceptional! They carried our luggage up for us. Location is the best.

- Gay (8/5): - This hotel was extremely convenient to the Kyoto train station, which was really important to us. There was also good shopping nearby, with a great restaurant that we happened to stumble upon.

- Kylie (6/5): - This hotel is conveniently located across from the station. The reception is on level 8. The luggage was was good. Our room was comfy for our family of four. My major issue with the hotel is the elevator. As the hotel is under the Kyoto tower it shares an elevator with the tower. When we tried to get to our room on level 5, the lifts were full of people leaving the tower. The reception staff failed to mention another bank of elevators in the other side of the floor. We had to carry our luggage down the stairs to level 5. There are other hotels around the train station so I recommended checking those out.

- Randolph (4/5): - We arrived with a child tired from a long trip at 1:30 pm. We were told our two rooms were ready. However check in time is 3 pm we were told. If we wanted prior access we would have to pay extra per hour according to the front desk. I asked whether we would get refunds if we checked out a few hours early at the end. The answer of course was no. In six decades of travel I have never experienced such offensive greed in the form of a shakedown at check in. Asked if we had any allergies and mentioning aversion to shellfish, we were asked to fill out an elaborate indemnity form at check in repeating personal information already available in the reservation system. Nothing positive can be said after such an abusive welcome. To be avoided if possible.

- Shannon (8/5): - I can only give this property four stars due to the bathroom. The room itself was very spacious in relation to other Japanese hotels. It was clean and comfortable and in a great location directly across from Kyoto Station. The only challenge was the bathroom. It was like the bathroom in a mobile home. The toilet didn't fit but they wedged it in anyhow so the you couldn't keep the toilet seat up. It was so weird. Every time we used the bathroom we had to hold the toilet seat up. I felt like I was being attacked by the toilet every time I had to use it. There also was zero counter space which made it tricky. The room my kids had wasn't this way. Their bathroom was configured a bit differently so I guess luck of the draw. Overall, nice stay with very helpful front desk staff.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Would stay again, but needs work - Hotel room was large, exceptionally large with big beds. The hotel itself seemed okay but is noticeably dated now. Our aircon filter was very dusty and the toilet seat rubbed against the sink, which meant you either had to lean on the back of the seat at an angle or risk it falling down on you which isnt good. However the discount to the Kyoto tower is a nice bonus and the room had plenty of space for baggage. Washing facilities are much smaller and more expensive than anywhere else, with no coin option, laundry is card only.

This hotel was fine, nothing special, nothing bad, but its location is by the station. I recommend staying anywhere but the station area.

- Khyron82 (6/5): Okay for a Tour Group - We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour group, and for that purpose, the place delivered. Yes, the single occupancy room was on the small size, especially with having 2 suitcases, but otherwise functional. Only real criticism would be the small window in the room having a decorative image that prevented any views outside or sunlight, nor be unable to be swung aside to see if it was even possible to look outside. Hallways are very quiet, and a nice-sized lobby with comfortable sofa chairs for a tour group to gather before the day's explorations. Yes, there is a dated / in need of renovations vibe to the place, but it did provide a nice base for our needs.

- lmc2913 (8/5): Great hotel - This hotel was very centrally located. The hotel is next to the train line and lots of buses. There was an array of food places in close walking distance and there is a shopping centre next door. The breakfast is inexpensive but did have great food on offer.

After the shower or when we are back into the room, there will always be a musky smell.
- 783HelenN (4/5): Tired and need of renovations - This hotel,is very tired and in need of some serious renovation. The room we had showed signs of water damage with stains on the walls and ceiling. The room furniture was tired and worn. The bathroom tiles were very mouldy. The breakfast on offer was not part of the booking & extremely expensive at 550yen pp. The location is opposite the Kyoto railway station and buses so very central. This was the only plus. The facilities provided by the hotel did not match the high room daily rate and definitely not that of a 3 star hotel Recommend considering other hotels
- Shekhina (10/5): - Long wait to use washer machine Laundry room no option to make payment-problem if not Apple Pay. No assistance with bags to and from rooms.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Stains on bidet and no washer/dryer - Honestly loved my stay here except for two things that made it a bit inconvenient. There are no laundry facilities and you have to go to another hotel to wash your laundry which is a major inconvenience if you pack light and/or you are staying a while because that means you are going out daily to wash your laundry. The streets outside the hotel are pretty busy so I ended up just hand washing all my clothes and hanging them to dry. Secondly, the bidet had stains on it and was clearly not cleaned after the last person who stayed there. It was pretty gross. But the staff was SO kind and everything else was great! Very convenient location. I felt super safe and it is surprisingly quiet at night despite the location.
- Andres (8/5): - This is an old hotel and you can feel it when you use the washroom in your room. It's quite old compared to the other hotel I did in Tokyo and Kanazawa. The staff are all very nice and it's very easy to get around since it's right beside Kyoto station. I just wish the washroom were cleaner and newer.
- Chengyun (10/5): - Very good hotel under the Kyoto tower. They provide a 400 Yen coupon for the tower view; I even bought tickets for my friends with this coupon to see the beautiful Kyoto night view. There is a food court in the same building. There are many restaurants around the hotel. It is next to Kyoto station and it is very convenient if you do not have a car. Please note the check in counter is on the 8th floor. It did take me some time to find it.

- Alberto (6/5): - I stayed at this hotel for just one night because of a major train disruption caused by Typhoon Ampil, what made it impossible to get to Tokyo on 8/16. The hotel is located on the building underneath the Kyoto Tower, across from the main train station, what makes it very convenient. The place is a little run down and my room smelled like mold, not sure if from the carpet or the drain in the bathroom. Very basic room but enough for one night. The staff was very helpful and nice. Wouldn’t stay again.

- Yan (10/5): - The hotel is just across street from the Kyoto station. There are a lot of shopping, dining option in the station. You can easily get everywhere you want to go and eat variety food at your choice. Room is small but it's Japan. So that's what you get anyway. It's just enough to rest for two of us.
- Jay (10/5): Last minute stay after canceled train - Great family room! 3 sets of bunk beds and 2 foutons. Plenty of space to spread out, the location was more than ideal for an early 6am train. Great shopping nearby. Would definitley stay again.

- Jennifer (10/5): - The Kyoto Tower Hotel is very convenient. Its across the street from Kyoto Station which makes it easier to catch a bus and/or subway. There are so many dining options, as well as shopping. Everything is walkable too. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms have a lot of room and the bedding was comfortable. We were able to schedule a in-room massage to unwind from a day of sightseeing.
- Marguerite (8/5): - Check in was uneventful. The room itself was clean but the carpet was stained and one of the lampshades looked like it had water damage. We only stayed the one night.

- James (10/5): - Nice place to stay for some time in Kyoto. The hotel located right across the street from the Kyoto train station. Very quick access to travel in the area as the bus station is there too. Plenty of shopping at the station as well as it is a massive underground mall. In the baaement of the hotel building there is a large food court as well with many options to choose from at reasonable prices.

- jane (8/5): Easy Hotel - The hotel was fine. They were kind enough to keep our luggage both before checking in and after checking out for a few hours. I prefer to have amenities in the room rather than in the lobby for you to pick up. The room was small, but quite average for a Japanese city hotel. The location across from the train station worked well for us.
- Lorraine (10/5): - We stayed one night at this property. We were amazed by our room. It was so large. It had 3 bunkbeds and a long couch that could easily fit 2 more people. I think the square footage was over 800 square feet and it also included 2 bathrooms. The room was new and updated and we wished we could have stayed longer. With a family of 6 we had so much room. It wasn't cramped at all. We were surprised by how updated the room was because when you walk through the hotel corridors, it seems like it would be a dated hotel. We were pleasantly surprised that it was not. The hotel offered luggage forwarding services. We didn't have time to go up to the tower, but hoping that when we come back to visit we can go again. Very convenient location. So close to the JR Rail.
- Karla (10/5): - This property was very nice. Conveniently located in front of the main Kyoto train station and in the same building of the Kyoto Tower. The building was spacious and the staff was helpful, especially after finding my lost wedding ring. Extremely thankful for them!
