• Bernie (7/5): Love the facilities and friendly staff there but dislike the shocking noise from the bus station. - We loved the actual facilities and the cleanliness of the rooms. I would give the venue an excellent rating if it wasn't for the extremely intrusive and disturbing constant noise from early morning until late at night from the bus station. It was very difficult to sleep and have windows and sliding doors open. We have stayed at Abode Tuggeranong before and not had that noise. We would love to stay there again in the future but would need to be assured that we could have a room on the other side of the building away from the bus station. Is it possible to have that assurance when we book in the future?

• Sara (7/5): Good - Right next to shopping centre, swim centre and bowling alley. Plenty of cafes and restaurants all walking distance. Free parking not included.
• Karen (8/5): Great location and would stay here again. - The room had everything we needed and was clean. Secure parking was also a bonus. Easy walking distance to everything in the Tuggeranong centre. Very disappointed with the disabled bathroom. We did not need or request a disabled room and due to appointments we checked in and then left the apartment for a few hours. When we returned and used the bathroom we felt it was too late to change rooms. The entire bathroom floor flooded every time we showered. A cleaner gave us extra towels to put around the shower to help.

My husband's parent's from Sydney have had Christmas reservations at the hotel booked for MONTHS and were told today without warning that their accommodation has been cancelled. Absolutely crap. DO NOT BOOK HERE OR ANY OTHER ABODE

• Megan (7/5): Comfortable apartment hotel close to dining and amenities - Location handy to amenities and good dining. Compact and efficient kitchen layout as well as laundry off the bathroom. Comfortable bed. Quite a few small beetles got inside - they were all over Canberra and surrounds while we were there. Shower in bathroom only had a half screen so floor got very wet. Bathroom needed one more towel rail. A faulty fire/smoke sensor caused a fire alarm evacuation on our first evening. Better signage in parking area would be good.

Just 2 tea bags, I was staying for 2 nights and the bed was ridiculous big far too big for the room . I didn't feel safe after getting back late, I would have thought sensor lights would come on, NO!

• Kelly (7/5): Overall the apartments were perfect for what we needed as a family and the locations is fantastic. - The location was very central The two bedroom two bathroom apartments are great for families (sofa bed also available at an additional cost) The apartment was spacious The smell of the automatic fragrance in the hallways/corridors was horrific and so strong.

• sandyfU6425LH (2/5): Do not book here - They must be paying people to write the good reviews because this place is unbearable. The carpets smell, the rooms smell even with the windows open. The staff is non-existent or hiding out in a room because they probably get a lot of complaints. Its old and worn down and in need of complete renovation. I suggest not laying carpet near the kitchen area next time. We couldn't get a wink of sleep here. Its not 4 star at all. I wouldn't even give this place one star. The ONLY good thing here is the location.

Abode is opposite South.Point shopping mall, very convenient for cafes, restaurants - especially Little Istanbul Turkish restaurant. The check in with a car was very confusing. I was directed to enter the carpark and then find the check in on the first car park floor. When check on was done I had to move the car to the 2nd level car park for Abode guests. There is a lift that services the check in floor and the guest rooms on the 2nd car park floor. Better signage in the car park would make for easier check in.

Looked like rat poo in the carpet. It smelt revolting. No toiletries . Holes in walls. Tables were t clean. Couch was old and wrinkled. Air conditioner is old. No tv in bedroom

• Janelle (6/5): Not great - We've stayed here before as the hotel is located near family, but I doubt we will be back. There was an awful smell in the room probably due to an inefficient bathroom exhaust fan, but possibly from the drain. We managed it by keeping the lounge-room sliding doors open as much as possible, but if the room was closed up the smell returned. Only one burner worked on the two-burner stove so could not really cook meals as we had hoped to. Air-con remote would not work. The bedroom is so tiny you can barely walk around the bed.The hotel as a whole is looking a bit old and shabby. Staff were friendly enough, but communication was a bit hit and miss.

The phone rang for a min then was answered finally but it took about 20 mins to check in. Room was good, slept well, clean and well furnished.

Had to call them back and request one and was made to believe I don’t know how to check texts on my phone. Card did not work to open the door, had to go down to reception and make another phone call to sort it out.
• Leanne (8/5): Very good - Close to shopping centre and eating venues. Parking fee. Rooms and hallways need to be refreshed as they were looking a bit tired. Loose plumbing fixtures in the bathroom. No TV in the bedroom. A lot of rubbish in the car park. Elderly parents were given a room on the 1st floor where the sliding door to the verandah was broken. It took a couple of phone calls before they were eventually moved. Instructions for coffee machine were non existent.

• Craigm (6/5): Good but horrible harsh lighting - Great location, spotlessly clean, comfy bed, everything I needed for my stay. Horrible harsh "cool white" lighting throughout, even in the bedroom! This lighting is most uninviting. They need "warm white" light bulbs but in spite of repeated reviews to this effect, they keep ignoring this and doing nothing.

• Sharon (8/5): Very happy with the accommodation. - We changed booking from 1 to 2 people and that was managed very smoothly. A lot of things in the kitchen were stored high up. Not able to reach for little people. Under 5ft. My 78 yo mum had to get on a chair not a safe thing to do.
