• joe (2/5): - i would never book this again. i booked early check i , and was told to come back later. they have cheap plastic flip flop shoes you are supposed to wear to your room. It is not an Inn, it is a boarding house, it is totally misrepresented. I had to go and book a different room, and booking is not refundable, so it was a waste of money

• Michelle (1/5): I would NOT recommend staying here. It is NOT as advertised. - The photos in the booking site were really nice unfortunately the room looked nothing like the photos. The very small room had a very uncomfortable queen bed fitted with a twin sheet that only covered half the very uncomfortable mattress. The rusty bathroom light fixture over the mirror had only 2 of the 3 very dim bulbs working which resulted in a very dark bathroom. There was no screen in the bathroom window, which we needed open because there is no air conditioning and it is very stuffy. This ‘Inn’ felt much more like a rooming house than an upscale Inn as advertised. In addition, the house was dusty and had a lingering smell of cooking. We booked a non-refundable room for 2 nights but could only handle one night. We left very early in the morning and were not refunded.

• Audran (10/5): I loved it! - Everything was amazing. They exceeded my expectations in every single way! The style of the house, the bed, the bathroom and the bathtub, everything was incredible. Note: the paintings are truly amazing and museum-worthy! Maybe a check out until 11:30 could be a huge plus to the property. But it’s truly not a big deal.
• Rebecca (10/5): - I was visiting Calgary for a work conference and needed an affordable place to stay within short driving distance to the BMO Centre and this place was perfect! The host family was really nice and attentive and my room was extremely comfortable. It was slightly warm in the room but after mentioning it to Kim she brought me a fan! I would definitely stay here again if I ever visit Calgary and highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay that’s close to downtown.

The location is great, a very quick drive to downtown. A quick walk around the corner to some shops and restaurants as well. Absolutely lovely, will definitely stay again.

Owner could show some customer appreciate and use manners when speaking to customers, Owner was rude, poor air quality, no AC and was hot and stuffy, strange smell in building, bathrooms had no locks on inside only bolt locks on outside, quite strange and uncomfortable. Very close to major roadway and traffic is quite loud. No rear parking as stated, Unsuitable breakfast, refused to refund our money and argued with us about our opinion. Highly recommended anyone who is planning to stay there to reconsider and stay in a proper hotel, definitely not a good experience

• Ira (10/5): It feels like home! - It is an amazing house with the kind hostess Kim that will take care of you from the first minute. She showed me everything in the house and the room. The place was very clean, spacious and very comfortable. All details were made for a guest’s comfort. Kim even woke up at 3 am to see me off because I was heading to the airport and offered me breakfast.
• Edward (1/5): Unresponsive staff, non functioning central air, location on a busy highway - Staff was very late in communicating with me about check in times. Facility did not have fully functioning central air conditioning. I was forced to take a small room with a window unit. It was hot and they originally gave me a room that was plus 80 degrees Fahrenheit. I did not get the room I payed for and I am requesting a refund.
• Darren (6/5): It was like staying at your friends house. - The owner/ hosts are very nice, the house is beautiful. This is a home that has been redone to have rooms on the second floor for guests. It is a beautiful home. Our room with a balcony overlooked a very busy and noisy roadway, the room was hot and stuffy due to no or poor air conditioning, if you wanted to eat breakfast you would do so with the host/ owners, the tub could only be filled with the shower running, the TV channels amounted to one channel that came in but that could have been my lack of knowledge on how to run the remote control also, the hosts were very nice and gracious and I do not want to disparage them but this was not what I expected in a place to stay. I would not stay again but I hope the owners will fix and change a few things because it could be a good place.

Hosts were friendly and very helpful. Room was large and well appointed with a fireplace, soaking tub. Bed was comfortable. AC did not cool our room - weather was exceptionally hot the 2 days we were there. Our hosts brought us 2 fans to help us sleep.

• Verified traveler (2/5): Expensive for what you get. Not for everyone. - The photos on line and some of the reviews suggest this is a pretty nice place. However, the room we had was just a room in someone’s basement. No view, dark (just typical basement window below ground level) and felt drafty and cold. There was a leak under the bathroom sink and a ceiling light that kept coming on by itself during the night until we unscrewed the bulb. Even though this was a king room and there were only 2 of us, we were charged for an extra person. Also, the rules are no shoes in the building so if you have foot problems and rely on orthotics to prevent foot pain, this place is definitely not for you.

The owners were so accommodating and sweet, very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and there were tons of great snacks! The location is fantastic - only a 20 minute walk to Kensington where there are tons of great restaurants and pubs!

• Michael (7/5): Nice experience, but not worth the money. Definitely will NOT be back. - The room was very spacious, quiet and comfortable. The room needs a detailed cleaning. There were a lot of cobwebs in various parts of the room, ceiling, windows, corners, etc. The TV was pointless. Trying to pick a movie or channel to watch required a subscription( so obviously the Inn didn’t subscribe to any of them!! And AT LEAST Netflix or Prime should be made available to guests). The ‘steam’ shower had NO STEAM!! It was made to look nice and had all the bells and whistles, but NONE of it worked except for the regular shower head.

It was under cooked and the bread was dry without any butter or anything, there was no side other just a omelette, toast and orange. We were super excited about the breakfast because of the reviews but were kind of disappointed.

Definitely recommend. Hosts were friendly, proactive and welcoming. We were very close to cafes, restaurants, banks and city centre. Will come back! Worth the splurge to upgrade to the luxury king - that room looked incredible, photos posted online.

I will come back whenever I'm in Calgary again. The mattress was great. The place is very clean and comfortable and the hosts were welcoming and kind.

• Cloudsurfer33 (10/5): Beautiful Bed&Breakfast! - My boyfriend and I went to this b&b for Valentine's weekend. The owners were so welcoming, we stayed in the main king's suite. It was absolutely beautiful, the fireplace and the jet tub were my two favorites in the suit, we had a regular breakfast the first day, and a vietnamese breakfast the second day, it was DELICIOUS!! We had our own private bathroom a spacious walk-in closet and a massive room. It was clean, quiet and no one bothered us. I would definitely recommend this place!

The place was very peaceful, definitely a unique gem. There is nothing like it - we have stayed in the Banff fairmont castle, and the quality and luxury of the interiors does not compare! A great place to take a weekend off, if you want to experience luxury for the weekend.

• jennyf328 (2/5): This place is not a legitimate business- AVOID - TLDN- This place is a complete scam, they misrepresent themselves as a legitimate business (which they are not) and they rely on keeping your money when you realize that and cancel. This is not a hotel. This is a room in a private home and the owners do not follow any kind of business etiquette. They do not answer their phone, they do not have a voicemail, they do not have any exterior signage indicating that this is a place of lodging. They told me I would be refunded when I cancelled, and then re-nagged on that communication and refused to refund me. After making my booking a friend in Calgary mentioned that I should take a closer look at the place because when she droveby the address she saw only a home at the address without any indication there was a business there. I proceeded to call the property over 25 times in the following 2 week period. The property did not answer the phone once, they do not have a voicemail message indicating they are a business or voicemail at all. The phone just rings and no one answers. As a woman traveling alone, this made me really nervous and I decided I was going to cancel- given I booked what I was led to believe was a room in a legitimate place of lodging and not whatever this place was. I reached out to Booking.com and they suggested I message the property through their platform. I did so and the homeowner informed me that if they didn't rebook the room I would be charged a $30 fee, but if they did rebook it I would not be charged. They even encouraged me to cancel quickly since they said they had other people interested in those dates. I've even included that correspondence here. I cancelled the room through Booking.com and BAM I'm charged the full $480 for my stay. The property has since re-nagged on their communication and refused to refund me, and Booking.com is saying they can't help if the property doesn't agree to the refund. What a disappointment, particularly in Booking.com for not standing with their customers when one of their properties is clearly running a shady operation.

Even offered to make us breakfast (specifically omelettes) but we had to get going back home and didn’t have time. She still had yogurt, pastries, cheese, fruit, and snacks out for us so we helped ourselves to those. Everything was as great as we had hoped for! The only thing is that we couldn’t watch anything on the tv other than satellite tv because the telus box had to be updated. Other than it was good!

First breakfast included moldy buns. Breakfast second day was excellent. We had time between our commitments to while away and there were no comfy chairs in our room to sit and read in nor a surface to play a game.
• Glenn (9/5): Charming people, a beautiful house, and great location - I would be happy to say again. - The owners / staff were exceptionally accommodating. I arrived more than 2 hours before check-in time, but they shifted my room to a king room from the queen room I had booked, with no change in price. The Inn is a converted house, and the room was in the basement, but it was still very comfortable, and very clean. The bathroom had also been newly renovated. The breakfast was a little different in being a prepared plate left in the fridge, but was still very tasty (2 boiled eggs, yogurt, and a large cake-like roll). It is clear that the owners try to make their guests as comfortable as possible.

• Donna (4/5): - Beautiful private house but lacking the security, comfort and amenities of a 4 star guest house. We do not recommend. Security: No security locks on room doors and a 'honour system' for locking the main entrance door. We put a chair against our door for security. The "Check-out" process meant leaving our keys on the kitchen counter. Comfort: Bed mattress and pillows (foam) were lumpy; we didn't get a good night sleep. Top sheet was percale 180 thread count (Thomaston t-180), covered by thin nylon blanket (Vellux). Polyester comforter. Amenities: Contrary to their Expedia profile, there is no room service or dining options. The host referred us to Uber Eats. Parking is street parking. What could be improved: - Security locks for guest room and main door security system. - New or better quality mattress, pillows and bedding. - Remove reference to room service from the Expedia website (intentional misrepresentation?, the host said it meant they "serviced the room" ) . - The host has a strict policy requiring guests to remove their shoes at the front door. They should provide house slippers as is customary in this situation. The host provided me slippers when I asked, did not offer slippers to my spouse. - Remove the first picture from their Expedia profile that shows what looks like a hotel tower. It's the first picture that pops up when using the Expedia mobile app.
