Guest Reviews
- Rob (8/5): - Beautifully laid out and private. Close to everything. Comfortable suite Bed mattress had a rise in it, ok but not super comfortable
- RAVNEET (8/5): - LOCATION Leakage near sink
- Kristofer (1/5): Find somewhere else - Can hear people in adjoining room which was not obvious when booking. Photos are very misleading
- H Christine (10/5): - The cottage was cute. We loved the walk to and from Huka Falls It took us awhile to figure out the room heater.
- John (8/5): Comfortable clean and great staff - Clean tidy convenient and nice charm., Nothing
- Bruce (8/5): -
- Darryl (5/5): -
- Clare (6/5): - The location. The set up and staff Shower was blocked and dirty corners
T V was mounted on wall to left of bed instead of the wall at the foot of the bed. You had to lie in bed with head at right angle, OK Iif sat in chair
- Mitali (7/5): -
- Pete (5/5): Adequate - Good security
Quiet Put two old single beds together to make a double. Very uncomfortable.
Shower pressure pathetic
- Laurel (7/5): Family treat - Villa's were clean, quiet and very well appointed and comfortable. The location was great as it was a lovely walk to Huka falls alongside the river, and it was also a short drive from the town.We stayed as a large group in a few different Villa's and the accomodation suited us very well. the stovetop didn't work
- Smith (6/5): As it was one night we dealt with it but I wouldn’t stay again, the place felt very unwelcoming and old (almost like it - Property was easy to find, heating was good The cleanliness of the facility’s were disgusting, when we lifted the toilet seat there was blood, there wasn’t a kitchenette like advertised just a bench with no tap. Sleeping in the bed you could feel the springs and the “private cabin” was connected to another cabin separated by a door only.
- Wendy (7/5): - Comfortable. Large. Quiet. No oven. Specified on booking.com. Only reason we booked this accommodation.
Office said we should have asked. Poor.
- Dimpesh (9/5): Amazing, spacious, quite, family friendly. - Everything Everything was great...
- State Abuse (1/5): - Absolutely Nothing Blood Stains And Womens Haīr In The Bed AND NO IT WASNT US BUT MANAGEMENT WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING
- Linda (9/5): Great spot to layover - Lovely spot to stop on our way to Auckland. Nothing
- Tracy (8/5): Value for money - Each unit had a carport and with the wet weather and golf gear this was fantastic. Carpets needed cleaning/replacing and one bedroom had a leak (which we informed them of when we left)
- Ruth (8/5): -
- Marni (10/5): -

- Christine (9/5): . - . .
- allan (8/5): - Arrived late but not a problem.
Lock box with key inside.
- Singh (10/5): -
- Buchanan (8/5): Lovely historic cabins - Great for our overnight stay. There were steep steps to get into our cabin. It meant that we limited our comings and goings. I was travelling with my 85 year-old mother-in-law, without mobility issues, but she commented on it.
- Matt (7/5): - Good value
- Kelly (9/5): - Great space for those with kids
- debbie (9/5): - Privacy Internet
- sahil (5/5): - the location studio rooms are connected to another unit with a door and you can literally hear other people in the rooms.
- Nan (8/5): -

- Jessica (10/5): We loved stayed in the big 3 bedroom villa - Lovely big house Nil
- Spooner (10/5): -
- Spooner (10/5): -
- Erin (4/5): uncomfortable beds, ants, toilet seat broken. spacious, - Location, space, Ants in the kitchen, beds had broken springs, all 3 of them, toilet seat broken, Couch needed cushions on uncomfortable, Shower was very low pressure and not get, water was very hot in the tap.
- Jacquelene (7/5): Was clean beds were very old and lumpy - It was large enough Very cold tho!
- Karleen (9/5): Nice out of town spot. - Clean and spacious villa with parking beside. Lovely wood interior.
- Spooner (10/5): - Very comfortable
- Phil (7/5): Convenient, warm - Good location, village cute feel.
Tidy, secure Limited kitchen facilities; low water pressure. Required Smart TV.
Grounds are looking tired
- CJAX20 (8/5): -
- Robynne (9/5): -
- Steph (5/5): Huka Falls - The unit was clean, we appreciated the fridge was turned on and the heat pump was warm The wifi was non existent
- Jessica (7/5): Comfortable, private, generous size, friendly staff. - A generous size, nice location. Fair price. The shower head wouldn’t stay up. The power would trip out if more than one appliance was going in the kitchen. The wifi and tv weren’t great.
- Cassidy (8/5): -
- Angela (7/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to friends. - The area is as lovely. The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful. Great recommendations for dinner.
- Guest (5/5): -
- Turia (7/5): -
- Lindsay (7/5): Overall very satisfactory for my needs - Quiet location Shower had very low pressure
- Sean (5/5): This place has potential but is rundown. - The complex felt private with plenty of space between cabins. The cabins are spacious, we had a two bedroom cabin and the main bedroom was large. The kitchenette was quite spacious and had a largish fridge freezer which was useful. This place has potential but is rundown. At around $200 for the night for 4 people it would be excellent value IF the facilities were just a little bit better. No wi-fi? !!! Usually one expects this as standard and we were in shock... but we survived. There was a very cheap couch in the lounge which had flimsy metal legs which bent so we didnt use it (notified staff). The shower rose was broken and water pressure was the lowest I have encountered for a long time but otherwise the bathroom was large and clean. The heatpump aircon unit appeared to struggle to heat and rattled a bit.
Part of the reason I chose this was because it has tennis courts and a pool. The tennis courts (artificial) were so run down and the nets broken so we couldn't use them and the pool was closed for winter. Iin a geothermal zone it would be really great to have a hot pool on site and this would be a great drawcard for guests.
- Jo (8/5): -
- Greg (7/5): - Patchy Wifi access was the only issue
- Dean (2/5): - Close to taupo and haka falls I checked into my accomodation late Friday night with the resort organising late check in procedures for me!
Wifi doesn’t work period! Doesn’t even show up on the available wifi spots!
Physical phone signal is lagging and sometimes slow!
When I arrived the room was somewhat spacious however problems soon emerged,
1. Bed was facing towards a wall when the TV was near the fridge in a complete different direction.
2. Toliet seat lid was very loose literally every time you sat on it it moved
3. Light switch near front door was loose and other electrical outlets were loose with my phone charger coming out of the wall several times with all times not being properly plugged in.
4. Woke up to several bites on my body presumably bed bugs.
Reception/after hours was contacted and advised and stated maintenance would look into it, was staying at the hotel for 2 nights so thought it’d all be fixed when I returned.
Attempted to contact reception/after hours again re issues, however no response could be established or reached.
Bed was made but unsure if sheets were changed, however both issues raised didn’t appear to be resolved with everything the same even a towel in the bathroom that I left on my floor to get replaced wasn’t removed or replaced when I returned.
Room 30B I stayed in!
- Ann (8/5): -
- Anusheel (4/5): -
- Grange (8/5): -
- Lara (10/5): - Friendly staff, great location, clean and comfortable. We would stay again Low flow shower
- Bostyn (1/5): -
- Akshay (8/5): Good -
- Stew (7/5): Apart from Wifi issue good. - Nice and quiet Wifi....didn't work.
- Kam (7/5): -
- Ainul Fatini (10/5): Had an awesome stay - Clean property in a quiet neighbourhood
- Tepene (9/5): Nice location more than likely to return in the future - Room very tidy and spacious Wifi needs improvement
- Talbot (3/5): -
- Gage (8/5): Lovely - Secluded cabins, close to everything, quiet, good value. Shower light didn’t work properly
- Samantha (4/5): Pleasant and okay - Location was okay as it was out of town about 10min drive and was included in an estate. The staff were helpful and was willing to assist when required. There was no WiFi as mobile service was challenging possibly to the location and the age of the property. The property was a 1970 style and needed some work. there was no instructions on how to use the oven and or dishwasher, i had to ask for assistance. I would have liked to have washing facilities in our villa to allow us to wash out clothes, however we had to travel into town to do this which added to the cost of traveling at this time.
- Bronte (8/5): Great wee get away! - The staff were very accommodating and quick with responses!
- Amrith (4/5): -
- Ian (7/5): Our cabin was compact to say the least but was clean and had all the facilities we required - Great location close to Lake Taupo Easy to find the resort address but not so easy to find the Reception in order to check in.
- Lyndal (5/5): -
- Hayley (10/5): Great stay, very clean, would book again! - The 3 bedroom villa was huge, so perfect for a bigger group! Very clean! Nothing, it was ideal!
- genevieve (8/5): - Charme de la maison individuelle Connexion Wi-Fi mauvaise
Maison excentrée
- Guest (8/5): -
- John (5/5): This property is certainly not 5 star!! - The location It was very dated
- Cathy (8/5): - Huka Falls Resort features very cute little villas with everything you need. Only thing that may have enhanced our stay would have been a washer & dryer. Also the use of the pool.
- Tracey (10/5): -
- Alexey (3/5): - No isolating , very noisy
No wi fi
- Nichole (5/5): Location is what we wanted, disappointed water, shower and electrical had major issues. - Clean tidy and quiet. No hot water, then we found the trip switch was off. It took over night for the hot water to heat up. The shower was terrible, the water dribbled out of the shower rose. The power point switch in the bathroom didn't work.
- Janine (10/5): - It was a lovely and quiet setting. Villas were very clean and tidy.
- Karina (10/5): - Clean and tidy great location not far from town and great parking for boat
- Guest (7/5): -
- Carol (9/5): Good value would highly recommend. Not luxury but very comfortable... - Value for money
- Hannah (6/5): Enjoyable, easy place to stay. You will need a car to travel into town. - own little house. Bed was comfortable. Our shower had very weak pressure.
- Javier (8/5): Very nice property and good location - Cleaning, friendly staff and nice presentation Nothing
- Monique (5/5): - It was quiet No wifi if that was advised in the booking I would of looked elsewhere
- Meredith (3/5): - Close to Huka Falls We booked a 2 bedroom, booking not on system but fully paid and confirmed. Got 1 bedroom with a bed in lounge area. Very run down and dirty and needs an upgrade. Lost count of what wasn’t working inside. Could hear people in studio next door.
- Ashley (5/5): It was okay. - Comfty bed Bathroom facilities
- Russell Armitage (9/5): Colonial comfort with style and dpace - Lovely individual cottages with very fine interiors and plenty of green space between them Well only a small thing but a strong black tea, bag!
- Natacha (3/5): - The room we had didn’t look like the photos that were on booking.com when I made the reservation, the bathroom was a big disappointment.
- Pascal (9/5): -
- Carl (8/5): -
- Maher (6/5): - The TV sound was muffled and. We had to turn it up. There appears to be little or no insulation between the units. Consequently our next door neighbours came round to complain! Also it's inconvenient to have free WiFi when it's so unreliable. Apart from that, we enjoyed our stay..
- Laurel (7/5): - We booked as a large family group and had 1x house plus 3 x 2 bedroom villas and 1 x1 bedroom villa.we really liked the 3 bedroom house as our gathering point and place to eat collectively.
The location was nice to be near the river, as well as a good walk or short drive to town
The beds were good, but most double beds were two single beds connected to each other so it was uncomfortable on the bed join.
The 2 bedrooom villas were warm, tidy and very roomy and we all had plenty of bedding. The overall property is tired, as are the external features of the villas (paint flaking and faded). The stove top in a couple of our units didn't work, and the pans were dirty in the house also the oven trays did not fit the oven in the house.
We booked 4 months out from our stay at clearly a (unknown to us at the time)discounted rate as i have looked again since and the villas are now over double the price to book for future dates , which i/we definately would not look at booking again as they are no where worth the overinflated prices now advertised.
- John (8/5): Great - Convienent Peaceful
- Bettina (8/5): Spacious and clean - 2 bedroom villa, just like a little house. Everything you need for comfortable stay and clean. I believe these were built in the 70s, and so are short on power points for a modern family all wanting to charge devices. Take a multi plug board on holiday to easily solve this.
- Kath (7/5): Good accommodation in a great location - The property was in a good location. Clean and staff very nice The pool was closed. We hadn’t been informed that pool would be closed prior to check in. We booked this accommodation for pool.
- Adam (7/5): Great proximity to falls - Very friendly staff and checking in and out was quick and painless. The room was quite small and wifi was sporadic.
- Debbie (10/5): Awesome stay awesome staff - Everything Nothing
- Paula (8/5): -
- Rebecca (8/5): -
- Lyn (6/5): Ok place to stay. - The ability to park outside the unit Very tired. Needs an uplift.
