- Jenni (6/5): Ehh... - Close to old town and pet friendly. Mattress not comfy at all. Shower door would not close. Bathroom has a very loud fan that comes on automatically with the light.
Did not like the video chat check in process.
- Gary (4/5): -
- Heidi (7/5): Great place to stay once you’re inside. - Nice room, nice people. Location is a little sketchy
- Aaron (7/5): - Location and the bed was comfortable A few unsavory types nearby also it's right across the street from the jail so there's a lot of traffic.
- mingelen (3/5): -
- Dirk (10/5): -
- Douglas (6/5): Beware of homless - Decent facility for the cost. Three homeless circling the area. One guest lost his electric bicycle. They cut the cable that secured the bike. Too many homeless allowed around hotels and restaurants in California. Might help if California folks didn't give their leftovers to the homeless sitting outside restaurants.
- Mitchell (5/5): -
- Fernández (10/5): -
- Malia (7/5): it was good and exactly what I was expecting - it was a nice room and was well equipped with a microwave and mini fridge. It was mostly clean and easy to access the carpets felt a little dirty, not too bad but when walking with bare feet ie. to the shower, you could feel it was dirty
- John (1/5): - Photos that accurately represent the rooms and lobby
- Matt (5/5): Never Again - The bed was comfortable and the location was close to the historic buildings and the waterfront. Checking in was uncomfortable. There is no staff present. Everything is done via zoom call and an electronic kiosk. You have no idea who this person is on the video monitor and you are asked to feed personal and CC information into this kiosk with no idea who is collecting this information or how it is being used. It was super awkward and not welcoming. I could only imagine being someone who doesnt speak english or a person who is challenged by technology trying to check in.
- Harrison (1/5): I want a free stay or some sort of refund I wish my previous report had been submitted - The tv worked The bed was shitty whole room sucked. Had a smell. Etc
- Marvin (8/5): -
- Knight (7/5): - The room was very clean and the staff were very helpful. There was no ice machine. The bed was very soft.
- Micheal (10/5): -
- Robert (6/5): Ok - Location Not that clean inside room.
- Jordan (8/5): Great location, minimal cleaning, strange entry with virtual check in / but smooth process, lot of vagrants so be ca - Location, parking, privacy Only had a shower, homeless smoking marijuana and cigarettes outside could smell:(
No sugar, creamer or stirrers for limited coffee no tea, no bathtub:( , limited tv channels.
- Christina (10/5): - This place is so budget friendly, and the hotel rooms are exceptionally clean. The housekeeper does such an amazing job and it is one of the reasons why we will continue to stay here!
- Aurora (10/5): - The room was very clean, area was very quiet. Enjoyed my stay very much. Would definitely return. Didn't care for the kiosk when checking in.
- Curtis (6/5): - Light in bathroom doesn’t work. This motel is very old
- Anthony (6/5): - The building was very old. No people (except wondering maid cleaning rooms). Check-in was all virtual video (nobody at front desk). Which was odd (scanning license, typing email info into a kiosk). Just unwelcoming. Area had lots of drifters. Parking was open to them but office always locked. No people.
- Amanda (10/5): -
- Amir (4/5): -

- anthony (6/5): - Average hotel. Hotels on Expedia should be forced to state whether there is a live person for check in or not. No live person here. A video check in.
- Sherrilyn (6/5): - Lived the weather and drive was nice.
This hotel is very very outdated and while room was clean the carpets and bedding needs to be replaced/ updated. Corridors had dead plants. I could tell this was a cute hotel 50 years ago.
- Caliope (8/5): - Check in was confusing, but everything else was acceptable.
- Giovanni (8/5): - It is ok
- Terry (4/5): - Well first of all my truck was broken into but I stopped the girl breaking into my truck so if you go to this property you have to park at your own risk because they don’t have security on site
- Kandee (4/5): Sorry....did not love it and will not stay again - We just can not recommend this place to stay. We have stayed there before and it was not as bad as this time. Maintenance everyone is definitely needed. Shower leaks on floor, had duct tape to help? Ceiling fan/light just about falling off and very loud. Overall, everything very worn out.
- Thomas (2/5): - Overcharged! Their site states that ervice dogs stay free, otherwise a $15 per day fee applies, so instead they diidnt ask if it was a service dog and then charged me $20 per nite extra. Thats false advertising and bait-and-switch taxtics. I asked to be refunded after i saw the charge bit they refused. All rooms are on 2nd story. Thin walls si its noisy at night. Lots of homeless around the hotel. No place to eat for several blocks. Downtown too far to walk to. Shower door did not stay closed. Bath sink was missing the stopper. Bath fan very loud. Check in was awkward since there was an ATM style machine instead of a live human being and ckmmunication was difficult. This place was cheap for a good reason.
- Mark (7/5): I'm not sure I would stay there again, but I don't regret having stayed there. And there was an extr - there was no breakfast included. And I'm not sure it was the best value, but that would be my fault for not looking harder. It was my first time dealing with a virtual host at the front desk, but it was not inconvenient at all it was just a little weird. It was in a very convenient location for our travels through Eureka. It was pretty clean and easy to get in and out of and parking was secure.
- Charles (6/5): - Not bad for a night long stay, but need new beds!!! Hard and cheap! Everything else was just fine though.
- Rhoda (8/5): - Ower was great
- Ramces (7/5): -
- Jesse (10/5): Good olace - Nicr place to stay an reasonable priced!
- Vanessa (2/5): - The place doesn't have any staff on site. They have a virtual hostess on a zoom call in the lobby. We had issues with our reservation through Expedia and the woman on the Zoom call was no help at all. The area was sketchy and unappealing. You' be better off spending your money elsewhere and receive actual service.
- Roxy (1/5): -
- Don (10/5): - Liked that you could walk to all the activities that were there. And all the restaurants. WE DIDN'T LIKE ALL THE NOISY ROOMS
- Tiange Wu (4/5): 绝不住。 - 没什么满意的地方 员工很差,服务很差。价格莫名其妙的贵。
- george (4/5): - shower inoperative (no water). screw loose on bathroom threshold caught my foot. two double beds in room too small. kiosk check out a disaster.
- Janice (8/5): - It was clean, but we weren't told that there was a fee to use the EV charger until we were literally walking out the door to check out.
- Yasmein (3/5): Poor - Bad experience. Everything in the motel needs to be replaced.
- Charles (3/5): Sleepless, no staff on site.very expensive for what you get - Last please to stay in town. Old, run down, across street from sheriff detention center. Loud homeless population all night.
- Souza (1/5): Bad - Nothing As soon as I walked to the room, I didn't like it. Appeared to be homeless on steps. Room smelled terrible. I wasn't even there 30 minutes and was charged a full night. Very outdated.
- Geist (10/5): Exceptional -
- Soheila (4/5): - Old building
The only good thing was the parking space
- Susan H (2/5): - There was no reception person. We were checked by a woman on a computer. There is no onsite staff. The motel is very run down and the neighborhood is dangerous. We are stunned that Expedia gave this 4 stars.
- Scott (7/5): Good -
- Emily (2/5): - Do not stay here! Luckily my plans changed, but I had originally planned on traveling alone, I'm so glad now I wasn't. But this was absolutely atrocious.
- William (2/5): Don't stay here... - The Hotel was dirty and in a bad neighborhood with many street people. The check in with the Kiosk was a ridiculously bad experience and the ads are misleading at best.
I am guessing that this hotel is owned by private equity that wouldn't even spend to money to have someone on the lobby. What if the power is out? I stayed at another, and they were helpless...
You should specify any hotel thgat has these kiosks.
- Larry (3/5): i won’t come back - Rooms were very clean. All rooms are up stairs, there is no mention of that in the booking report. If you require a wheelchair, walker, cane, crutches or are visually impaired the stairs are going to be a problem. If you drive an SUV or full size pickup, parking is very tight. There is no mention of a deposit being held on your card despite the fact you don’t have pets and don’t smoke. Never saw motel staff, pushed a “ring” brand button to get into the office to check in and to check out. I don’t honestly know if I spoke with a real person or someone AI generated. Being visually impaired it would have been impossible to check in without a sighted person. If management is going to spend thousands on this kiosk machine to protect employees, are you really in a safe area??? Still waiting for my deposit to be released, 24 hours after I checked out.
- Paul (8/5): - This hotel is directly across from the county jail. I stayed three nights and never felt unsafe, but there are vagrants walking around. The hotel itself is fine, and the local bar next door is super fun
- Jodi (6/5): - It was a great location. I do not like the conditions of the hotel. Needs to be remolded with downstairs rooms. I do not like talking to screen with a person that is not in the office.
- Jesse (10/5): - Well there was a confusion with someone else with my same name that was on the do not rent list so my reservation had to be canceled but the next day the owner of all three hotels that Bayside in Ramada the super 8 and the townhouse motel called me personally and realized I wasn't the same person that got arrested on the property and lost their deposit so he took them off of my profile and gave me a discounted room along with a free 5-hour early check-in so I thought that was pretty cool that he rectified the situation and then came up to me when I got to the hotel and told me that was his cell phone number if I add any other issues at any of the hotels to give him a call! So very much appreciated
- Keira (8/5): - It was cute upstair, the outside was dingy and the area wasnt the best but that eureka for you. It was cute and quiet especially for the price.
- Amy (3/5): Don’t do it, It’s worth the extra 40-50 dollars to stay in a better place. - The virtual check in was very Bladerunner. No people on site. They required a $100 security deposit which took them 3 days to refund. This was after I had already paid for the night. The beds were old and uncomfortable. Power plug ins not convenient. Dodgy area.
- jacob (6/5): - Not a good area, lots of tweakers everywhere, no front desk staff, all digital. Not terrible considering the price. The bed was clean and the shower had hot water. The parking It's very small and downstairs. Just pretty outdated and cheap. Not bad for work travel
- Stephen (10/5): - Nice, clean, and quiet
- Dennis (7/5): Good - The staff was great. But we knew there was a lot of other things going on in the hotel. I thought it was a great deal for having two separate rooms, but there was a lot of commotion and beneath the alleyway beneath the window of the second bedroom. All day, all night.
- Kyra (8/5): - The motel was reasonably priced and had a good location, walkable to historic old town sights, shops, and restaurants. That said, the actual block that it's on is a bit run down and shabby, and the property is located directly across the street from the not-so-picturesque county jail.
Remote check-in via video call was a different and kind of cool experience, and just as efficient as the regular face-to-face hotel check-ins that I'm familiar with. Checking out was equally simple.
The room was a bit worn around the edges but clean, and the beds were comfy. Our room fronted a rather busy street (and aforesaid jail) and we were a bit concerned about traffic noise, but it was well soundproofed and we weren't bothered.
Major con was that the parking spots in the covered lot are TINY and many have posts in between them. They're also on right angles, not on a slant. Our SUV is one of the smallest ones on the market (Subaru Crosstrek) and parking in the garage was still not an option for us due to the configuration and miniature parking spaces.
Major pro was the shower. Amazing water pressure, nice and hot for basically as long as you want it to be. Overall I'd probably stay again for the walkable location and reasonable rate, assuming I'm driving a sub-compact vehicle next time.
- Casey (2/5): - There were no employees at the property. Computer kiosk only. There were bad smells and transients doing drugs on the property. The pictures online were misleading. This is not a safe place for you or your family. This place should be shut down or investigated. Expedia should not promote or back this property.
- Kevin (4/5): - The check in was through an offsite kiosk, very impersonal. The location was very noisy & its not in the best part of town. The beds were hard and the room had a bit of a funk to it. We didn't even stay our second night. We moved to another motel.
- Daniel (6/5): - felt it was around to many homeless folks
- paularK2083JJ (6/5): Very Confortable Rooms, nicely equipped - The staff was very courteous and the rooms were very clean, Very mellow place to stay. They offered extra bathroom towels, soap and toilet paper even though we were not checking out. The weather was very cold and the heater worked well and on demand hot water.
- Marie (4/5): Unhappy - There was no one here to greet us. Everything was done by computer system. Not very happy with that.
- Joseph (8/5): My daughter really enjoyed it - The location how nice the room looks Walking upstairs and seeing the rest of the rooms with no space in between
- Davina (4/5): You get what you pay for - Check-in was over a computer terminal and monitor with a clerk, no actual live person. Hotel was cheap and you get what you pay for, got the jacuzzi tub room (don't waste your money), it didn't work, room looked run down, bed was not comfy, had a musty smell.
- Daphanne (10/5): Jet Tub Worth It - I had the room with the jet tub. That was so nice after a long day of travel and then a long day of business meetings the next day. Will choose this option again if I am back in the area.
- Tom (8/5): Quiet and convenient location - The facility was easy to find. Parking on the ground floor is somewhat tight. Second floor accommodations were good, very quiet and comfortable. Check-in was via a remote workdesk and was actually quite novel and very efficient. Good price for the room and close to the downtown location where the event we were attending was held.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Walked right out - We ended up leaving right after we arrived. The room was dirty with dirt and dog food in carpet, stains on the sheets, there was a hole in the wall, homeless person yelling outside.
- Cooper (8/5): Very good - It’s a clean, comfortable, quiet bare bones motel close to old town . Only a few small details lower the rating: no sugar for the coffee pot, one bedside lamp was not working. Jacuzzi tub was perfect. The owner is personable & helpful.price is good. It’ll recommend it .
- Jackson (1/5): Bad - I love Eureka. Hotel is a dump.
- Wingyan (5/5): Passable - The location is within the Historic Town area. All interaction in the reception was online and I wasn't aware of staff anywhere in person. That gave people a creepy feeling. The room was too small to be comfy, maybe one of the smallest motel room I had encountered so far.
- Trinity (8/5): - Was much nicer than I was expecting, and check in/out was simple and easy to access. The unit had some ware but not too bad. Could’ve been cleaner but was still great for the price.
- Luana (8/5): Need DND signs for doors to sleep in - Great stay but would like the option of having “Do not disturb” door hangers so that Housekeeping doesn’t wake me every morning.
- Athene (10/5): Exceptional -
- Viet (2/5): Uneventful and the price paid was excessive for the value and type of accommodation - There was no staff, and everything about the check-in was remote. This hotel stay was more commodity pricing driven and should have been more price-driven since there was no staff and no value added. This place was a dump. There were holes in the wall in the bathroom and the hairdryer was dirty. No on-site staff. Check-in was virtual and remote.
- John (8/5): - Very good. Interesting but good rooms above the carport
- Yoshiko (7/5): convenience - quietness none
- Noemi (10/5): - Nothing...
- Marie (6/5): It was nice for price and the people were friendly at check in and out. - The room was very well for price. The bed was not comfortable. For an out of town person an extra blanket advaible in room would have been nice. The property was clean. I would have preferred the suite but was not listed. It was a good room for price. The odd smell when you walked in. Parking was tight and the video check in was weird
- Angela (1/5): Hard pass - Nothing disgusting drug and homeless infested did not feel safe checked out early location parking the check in process the smell inside the hotel room, linens had blood stains mattress waiting for the roaches to come out we checked in at 1am left in the morning didn't stay another night i would never stay here or pay a $1 very unsafe can't imagine a child staying here the check in experience was lengthy and unnecessary for one am. it was a complete shit hole.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional - Staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful.
- Athene (10/5): Exceptional -
- Crissy (6/5): Pleasant -
- Matthew (8/5): Stayed in the Heart of Eureka - We brought bicycles and the manager stored them for us in a locked room, so we did not need to keep them on our vehicles. The location was great for our trip, as it is close to down town and the community facilities at the bay.
- Anthony (6/5): 2 Star Hotel - The ground floor is parking garage.
A two queen bedroom has two bedrooms and three closets.
It’s clean and well maintained. No stains or signs of wear. It is definitely 2 stars. It’s from the ‘80’s.
You check in to a kiosk with a two video of a front desk receptionist.
The warning signs around could give a hint as to what goes on here: no hanging around the stairs, no loud noises, and there is no video surveillance.
The small town we were asked for change going to dinner and coming back. Then driving to the motel, there was one homeless man spinning around on Main Street. Then staying at seedy hotel…
- Andrea (5/5): Pleasant for a no frills motel - Affordable with dedicated parking and 4 cup coffee maker Old and dated furnishing and electronics
- Ronald (5/5): Passable -
- Cliff (5/5): Not recommended - Hwy access Room was small and cold access to the heater / ac unit was blocked by a table
- Hola4876 (2/5): Stay somewhere else - Well, I don't know when the pictures shown on their website were taken but I'd have to say not in the last few years. The place is a bit run down & not in the best area of town. Check-in is just weird; you first have to gain access to a very small locked lobby then use a computer to more or less use something like zoom to check-in. The face of a person is there, you can see & hear them talking but they could be thousands of miles away. A $100 deposit is required at check-in. I don't know what we possibly could have damaged. I realize technology is being used more but if the property owners don't feel it is safe to have an individual working there for check-in, I'm not sure anyone should be staying there. The parking is under the hotel & the parking area, like the rest of the place, needs a good cleaning. The shower curtain was moldy; cannot recommend this property.
- Pamela (8/5): - Very easy to walk to many food establishments
Right on Highway 101, so easy access. Like being on 2nd story, no elevator, but not a big deal for us. First time with “zoom” check in. Went really smooth, but so different. A great value.
- Catherine (6/5): - The check was by remote video. They could not provide the shower chair l needed. The area was not the best surrounding by a prison , sheriff’s office court house etc. Dining was poor in the neighborhood. It was quiet but quite decrepit. Wouldn’t chose to stay again
