Guest Reviews
- michel (10/5): - Room was boiling hot when we checked in, took 3 hours for the AC to cool down the room.
No cold water to drink, no ice.
- Sarah (6/5): - Staff friendly and helpful. Although it was only on the last morning that I got a clear answer about the breakfast availability.
Convenient location but not a great area. Luckily we had a room with a good view but the room itself was shabby, paint marked and peeling, floorboards loose and floor slopped. Shower didn't have hot water consistently. Wifi consistent and bed comfy. Is definitely a place to only spend a night or two before further travel.
- Gaylen (10/5): - NA don’t know
- Michelle (6/5): - Location is 10 min walk to downtown Papeete. Rooms are a bit dated but clean and staff is welcoming. We only stayed the one night but it's within walking distance to Hotel Kontiki which has a restaurant and across the street is a store that sells individual drinks and snacks as well as supplies in bulk. Short walking distance to the wharf.
- Michel (6/5): Could be better… - Overall, stay was good, but the room we got didn’t look at all like the picture on the website, or on our reservation document. Dated, very little sitting room, breakfast buffet with limited choice and overpriced.
- Nicolaas (4/5): - Not worth the couple of dollars of savings.
- chasity (4/5): - I just needed a place to sleep before heading to Moorea. Couldn't even do that. The loudest!!! Hotel i have ever stayed in. Its extremely worn down. I gave it 2 stars for the great hot water and pressure. There was music and motorcycles blasting all night!!
- Larry (8/5): - All good, clean well located good value
- Harley (8/5): - Hotel was fine. Stayed here on a late flight out. Had a/c was clean. Ok place for the price. Ate at the roulotte around the corner. It was very good
- Vicki (8/5): Honest Review - The hotel has a nice reception but the rooms are quite dated, staff were friendly and helpful with storing our bags after checkout. The bed was comfortable with clean sheets and towels, only the shower could have been a bit cleaner as the tiles/grout needed a good clean.
- Veronica (2/5): - room was dirty. sheets on bed were so rough. could hear street noise.
- Eileen (6/5): - There was nothing around the hotel.and nothing to do there. The hotel needed an update. Our balcony was restricted with the large air-conditioning units. However, our room was large with a sink, and kept very tidy with replaced toiletries and water. The staff were so friendly, kind, and helpful, which made so much difference to our stay.
- Dorothy (8/5): - Property was perfect for our needs. Great location & convenient. Room was huge but could use some updating. Staff was delightful
- John (10/5): Easy access to cruise terminal and airport - The staff was friendly and professional. They were helpful with restaurants selection for the area as well as booking taxi for airport transfer. The hotel is a bit dated. However, it is a great place to stay for pre cruise or pro cruise stay since it is only a short distance from the cruise port and the airport.
- Javier (2/5): - The room specifically the Bathroom broken toilet paper holder, the shower not working and the floors are squeaking. The rooms are not properly maintained
- Grant (8/5): Pre cruise stay - Convent location, good value
- Harry (10/5): - The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The facility is older but the rooms are large and adequate. The airconditioning and draperies (completely dark) were excellent. Very clean floors, white linens, bathroom. This was perfect for my needs. However, the location is on the edge of the port/tourist area of Papeete so it's a 10 minute walk to the central area for shops and eateries. There was no balcony or swimming pool which are not expected at this price point.
- Lavern (8/5): - Room clean no wash cloths
- Linda (10/5): - Rooster crowing since 1:30 a.m. Hard to control for the hotel!
- David (6/5): Good choice if you don't need a pool! - Kind of near town, functional if you dont need a pool. Felt safe. Had a skinny little balcony which came in handy drying out dive equipment. Beautiful sunset view. Very comfortable for us. Affordable,
- Tania (2/5): - Awful horrible place and so didn’t go back for the second night planned at the end of our stay.
- Tania (2/5): - Rude, unhelpful staff. Rooms the most austere and run down, no amenities to speak. Do not go there!!
- Grace (2/5): - Generally not appealing, bed is poor quality, some noise that was unexplainable. Went there from airport late at night, slept for 6 hours to catch the ferry the next morning to Moorea. Area feels dumpy and unsafe. Conveniently located close to ferry terminal.
- Greg (4/5): - All right for over night close to port
- Jeff’s (10/5): - A nice place to stay overnight on your way to a neighboring island. Older property but very clean and super nice staff. Located close to the ferry.
- Pradeep (2/5): - It not what it shows in the picture. The female staffs were polite but the Male staff knocked door like a police coming to arrest.
- Pavel (10/5): - It was fine for a one night stay but the property is in rough shape
- michael (8/5): - Good value and proximity for cruise ship port in Papeete
- Carina (6/5): - Not the most comfortable choice due to area it is in. Being an old hospital converted into accomodation makes it a bit spooky. The room albeit clean was full of stains and holes on the walls plus the bed was not very comfortable. Staff were very nice and helpful on check in and booked a taxi for us.
- Troy (8/5): - This hotel is old but its managed well and clean. Its bit distant from city center within walking distance. Its completely safe area.
- Elizabeth (4/5): - We booked this hotel for the proximity to the port for our cruise. The floors were noisy. Our bathroom had one shower door that covered a quarter of the distance. Breakfast was limited but good. My bed was so comfy, but the other one in the room was not.
- CHAVEY (8/5): Très bonne expérience. - Personnel très agréable et très accueillant, mon séjour fut très agréable même si cela ne fut que pour une seule nuit.
- Trish (10/5): - Extra towels particularly hand towels would be nice. There were two bath towels only.
- cameron (4/5): - over priced for a worn out hotel. the staff where very good.
- Troy (8/5): - Its old hotel. Its location is ok. The room is clean. Plus friendly staff. I notice there is no smoke alarm at the hotel.
- Scott (4/5): - Nothing special. Fine for a 1 night stay. No phone in the room, toilet wouldn't stop running, random lamps with dirty lampshades, pillows uncomfortable. Felt like the room was like staying in a boat. If you are on holiday for a while, don't stay here.
- Juan (4/5): - While the hotel is a good location close to ferry port, market, restaurants, etc it’s still very dated and not the cleanest. Only stayed one night after a late flight coming then early flight leaving the next day
- Annette (8/5): - room was good and quiet but floor needed a wash - our sox were dirty walking round.
Also room very dark and only had two bedside lamps and one light by door. Definitely needs a lamp in room as could hardly see anything in room such as going through suitcase after dark. Staying in a different room last visit there was a lamp.
Would stay there again but would make sure a lamp was in room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Basic, clean overnight stay - Clean, spacious room. Bed/Mattress felt worn and needed replacing. Otherwise, perfect for a quick overnight stay after an evening flight or before a morning ferry. Walkable to restaurants/bars in town, and to the central market area. Free parking a plus (though limited parking spots
- hoi (6/5): - Afford for single guy for few days. Hawaii is better, closer
- Ramakrishna (10/5): - We had a wonderful time and comfortable stay here.
- Carmenza (6/5): - Hotel is ok for one night if you don’t know the island and figure it out where you are going to stay or what you wanna do.
- Neal (10/5): - Super location! Location superieure. Superb host. Hote superb! And a pool!! Une piscine formidable!!
- Robert (8/5): - Walking distance to the ferries.
- Suzy (8/5): - Our cheak in lady was unhelpful and grumpy, the guy that took over from her was excellent friendly and helpful. Our checkout guy was okay too. Well still quite expensive this hotel was very budget
- Douglas (6/5): - Bbb
- Greg (10/5): - Our stay was exceptional. Worth every cent. We also knew what we were getting into… yes, an overwater bungalow does come with a cost, but it’s the experience you’re paying for. Whether it’s on your bucket list, you like to walk out your door and into the water to snorkel, the views, the privacy, it’s all worth it.
- Tom (2/5): - Our first floor room was absolutely horrible. The shower head was caked in mold/mildew and I saw 3 cockroaches hiding in the shower and drain. The hotel staff moved us to a third room floor, which was slightly better. No cockroaches, but the bed linens were clearly used before with hair and dirt under the top sheet. Spend a little more and go anywhere else but here.
- Graciela (2/5): - Not happy
I was not able to
Make it the first night
The place is pleasant clean
Overpriced
It is not a beautiful area
Port Area walls with green plants covering is ok… noy special… just overpriced
- Sean (6/5): Worked for our day-use needs. - Stayed in Moorea all week and came over to Tahiti on the ferry. We booked room for same day stay for a few hours while waiting for a 11:30 pm flight out of Fa’a,a International Airport. Good place to rest, take a shower, check emails and catch up with the world waiting to fly back to CA. Fridge and A/C worked great. Hotel close to the ferry terminal.
Room does needs a bit of updating, some of the broken furniture needs replacement and updating. The room worked well for our day use needs while waiting for our flight, we did not stay overnight.
- Murray (4/5): - This is a very disorganized , tired, old hotel charging excessively high rates for sub standard amenities and services. Maximizing $ return from awkward airline schedules and lack of competition. One staff member particulaly abbrasive and unhelpful at checkin and when towels were requested this is a basic expectation . Water pressure was pathetic , shower was basically a trickle. Avoid if you can.
- Zoha (6/5): - Good location to the ferry terminal. Easy check in & check out. Had the basics.
- Kulwant (8/5): - We stay two nights in may 21-2025 .This is good to relax place !!!!!!
- Rico (4/5): - Not clean, and multiple things broken in room. Seems like they are doing things cheap and trying to save EVERY last penny! You have been warned.
- Philippe (2/5): never again ! - horrible place, horrible service, don't go there !
we leave at 5:30 because it was impossible to get our room ! and no refund until noW 1
- Barrett (10/5): - Nice place within walking distance of ferry terminal and restaurants. Only stayed one night but slept well.
- Robert (8/5): - was further away from food and shopping than expected
- Jeanne O. (6/5): - It was ok
cordialement
- kusum lata (4/5): - male staff was very rude, breakfast that we paid was not worth it, it was the same breakfast every day, no clarity was provided when booking breakfast, no milk was provided for the room, most disappointing was the male staff at front desk, very rude.
- Lucille (8/5): - Hotel needs updating and on edge of town however staff excellent and so willing to assist
- Melolini (10/5): - The guests service were very friendly and polite.
- DRORA (6/5): - ac was overcooling
- Ramesh (2/5): - Our bed sheet has blood stains on it.Limited supply of towels. Most uncomfortable bed and pillows.Terrible breakfast.Nobody should stay at this property. Nothing good except morning front desk person was very helpful
- James (2/5): No one there - My Flight arrived Late from New Zealand and there was no one to check me in so i had to get a room at another hotel
- Nicoletta (4/5): - The hotel is very old and would need a complete remodel. However, it was clean enough and close to the city center.
- Sandra (10/5): - Would come back
- Hulya (2/5): - Not clean.
- Mie (10/5): - Great staff service, convenience int he area, bed was comfortable, safe parking for our rental car
- JITENDRA (6/5): - Helpful staff
- Bruce (10/5): - Close to cruise port and ferry
- Sherene (6/5): - The bed was horrible. King size mattress on a queen box spring, bed was on wheels which slid everywhere. Room Safe did not work. Loud vehicles as area is industrial. Staff not too friendly. We were glad to leave.
- lisa (10/5): - A great place!
- lisa (10/5): - Staying at Sarah Nui was a good decision. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. It had air conditioning, so we slept in comfort. The cleaning staff were excellent and helped keep us stocked up with toiletries and clean towels in spite of our staying in the room to catch up on sleep. They seemed to understand.
- Elizabeth (4/5): - Limited English made communication difficult.
- Katherine (8/5): - Our room was very hot when we arrived and we had to wait a while for help. The shower was great.
- Irvin (6/5): Average - Staff was friendly and very helpful
The room wood floor boards are loose and paint peeling around shower enclosure. I paid extra for daily breakfast. Not worth the price. Eat breakfast outside. For these reason I do not recommend this hotel.
- Dean (10/5): O - Great property on the beach, make sure to bring water shoes as the coral is sharp and is mixed in the sand. This property is close to everything worth seeing and about 20 mins from the ferry dock and 30 mins from the airport.
- Richard (8/5): - Good location, very good staff. Facilities show age and need of upkeep. Neighborhood like facility.
- charlene (6/5): - The Sarah Nui is a very functional hotel if you are not fussy about amenities, or decor. Its within walking distance of the ferries. Theres a nice hotel rooftop restaurant nearby, the Kon Tiki. The price point is economical. The staff were good.
- patrick (4/5): rundown - rundown, needs renovation
- MR ERNST (6/5): - The hotel was quite central but not in a very nice area. Terribly run down, bed not good but good air-conditioning! Basic breakfast.
- DAN (10/5): - Good
- Kainoa (4/5): - bad out dated
- Francelle (6/5): - The staff was good, but the hotel is in disrepair. Broken items throughout room - drawers, hooks, closet doors. And it could use a good cleaning. The comforter smelled. The neighborhood is a little seedy. No pool. The bed was comfortable. The “terrace” is two chairs on the top floor in a small patio.
- Gary (8/5): - very rustic old hotel and we quite enjoyed our stay there
- Larry (10/5): - Great stay, quiet, great beach and breakfasts, location is wonderful
- Phill (2/5): - Awaken every morning by house keeping 7:30 on a Sunday. First night got in at 3 am house keeping woke me at 7:45 to clean room
- Victoria (2/5): - Photos of the botel are very misleading. We booked 2 double rooms. 1 was much smaller than the other and missing hand towel. There were blood stains above the toilet roll paper. The duvet was stained. The bed had broken springs. There was mould in each of the corners. It was absolutely awful. We used a chair to block each door as the locks rattled and did not feel safe. Also when you walk along the corridor its slanted as the floor is not straight. And no lighting. A number of lights were out.
Don't stay here. Coming from the Hilton Moorea where it was lovely this was awful. Thankfully only 1 night stay before we flew out.
- Logan (8/5): - Easy and fast place to stay in if you want to go directly to the ferry the next morning. But keep a look out. It’s not a 4 star hotel. Doors open with one metal key. Not a key card. The elevator is a bit small so just 2 people and 4 small bags of luggage will fit. They do have a little food Resturant down near the lobby. But it’s nothing special. Convenient if you just want to stay there and not spend a lot.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Zentrale Lage für 3Sterne zu teuer - Hotel in die Jahre gekommen, überall Gebrauchsspuren aber sauber. Zentrale Lage terminal gut erreichbar. Obwohl Hotel nicht voll kein früherer check in möglich.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed two nights before taking the ferry to Moorea. The hotel is a short walk to the downtown (5-10 minutes, maybe 15 to the Papeete market). Affordable, clean, good AC and staff was helpful.
- Adrian (8/5): - Sarah Nui is a nice budget hotel. Personnel are very nice. The Ferry Harbor is very close. Wi-fi did not work in the room but was fine in the lobby. Water in the shower was a bit cold. A good experience overall.
- monica (8/5): - This was a perfect place to stay for a quick overnight before we headed to Raiatea for our boat trip.
- Alan (8/5): - Nothing fancy, but comfortable and clean hotel with friendly, welcoming staff. The place is showing its age, with some missing fixtures in the shower and bathroom, but our room was clean and comfortable. There's a lot of construction going on around the hotel, so getting around on foot is a bit rocky. However, the location, just a few blocks from the ferry terminal, makes it an ideal location for short stopovers between island hops. The onsite cafe has great pastries and a nice assortment of entrees for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just snacks. A good value and our main complaints were minor - the traffic noise outside and the loud closings of the very solid room doors.
- pierre (6/5): - Just a quick one night stay waiting for our flight to Bora Bora. Not a place to stay for more than one night but the price reflects it
- Brent (10/5): - Don't arrive expecting a 5-star resort, that's not this hotel. But it's a quarter or less of the cost too. It was perfect for my needs. Easy walk to restaurants and shops by the port. Free parking. I had a car so was out exploring the island every day, leaving in the morning and not returning until evening. Kind staff - Vainui and Jeanne (sorry if I mispelled) were lovely and made sure all was good.
- Alan (4/5): - Staff was incredibly polite and helpful.
Bed looked like sheets were changed but the floor and bathroom were dirty.
- Linda (6/5): - Hotel is walking distance to the cruise pier and restaurants.
- Franco A (6/5): - Bathroom had only one door instead, two
