- MartaA3466 (2/5): Terrible - avoid at all costs - I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay absolutely earned one. Check in was a disaster from the start. We arrived before 4 PM and got a very slow line. Check in was at 4 and we were told to wait…no problem. No room was ready until after 4—and were told we had to get back in another long, slow line and wait all over again. Brian at the front desk was especially unhelpful. We had comps to use but couldn’t access anything because we didn’t have a room key yet. Instead of helping, he shrugged it off and offered no solution. We were even told the pool bar was open, only to walk all the way there and be turned away because—again—we didn’t have a key. We had comps but couldn’t do anything because we had no key. No help from Mister Helpful himself. The problems didn’t stop there. The room was never made up during our stay, and every attempt to get basic service felt like pulling teeth. Overall, terrible service, terrible communication, and zero sense of hospitality. I would not stay here again.

This may as well be a motel 6 run by high school kids. They even charged my card at the bar for drinks I paid for with cash.

However the staff were uninterested in being polite or welcoming during our stay. We were greeted by the valet who demanded our car keys and angerly thrusted out his hand to grab them. The street parking was open so we opted not valet our car and he became very irate. The next morning we went to the coffee bar and not only were they out of coffee but cups and creamer. I asked the front desk about the coffee and she just shrugged and said oh well! This is not the experience we usually get from a Kimpton hote. The next morning we went to the coffee bar and not only were they out of coffee but cups and creamer. I asked the front desk about the coffee and she just shrugged and said oh well! This is not the experience we usually get from a Kimpton hote.

Tired appearance as many post Covid hotels are now showing despite higher rates . TV-Many local network TV stations not operative. Subscriptions expired? Solid surface Flooring common areas are dirty or in need refurbishment. Any carpeting needs replacement: elevators, high traffic areas ect. Although charging top dollar auto valet unimpressive. EXTREME motor/equipment noise on premises ran at idle all night, no sleep. Very noisy on street corner. Our room was not on waterfront despite the Internet description. Hotel is across the street with very limited river views. Central Phone system inoperative. Overall not a great value for what they charged. A disappointment. See above.

Amanda added an extra spark to our night, not only was she an excellent server, but she is very knowledgeable about Savannah and just a very caring genuine person, you can tell she actually cares and that is hard to come by this day and age. She is a keeper! The shrimp scampi was amazing!

It was my wife birthday she went above and beyond! She was so professional and very personable. I asked to speak with a manager, she stated that she was the supervisor on duty. This young lady needs a promotion. She is the highlight of this place! My wife had the cheese and fig pizza, I had shrimp scampi. Both recommended from Shakearia. Neither dish lacked in flavor and the presentation was 10 out of 10. If you are in Savannah and looking for great food please don’t pass up on Pacci. Ask for Shakearia! She is the definition of hospitality! We did not stay at the Kimpton Brice just a nearby bnb but we will for sure stay at Kimpton Brice our next visit !

- 295farrahs (2/5): Shambolic. Avoid at all costs - Without question one of the worst hotels of my life- and I am a travel writer. I arrived here excited, only to be given a suite that was in darkness with no functioning light switch and a fridge which made so much noise I had to unplug it.When i complained to reception the lady there just nodded and confirmed she knew about the light switch being broken. I was then moved to a smaller room for which i was told i would be refunded the difference. This is where the absolute chaos started. The entire hotel had been booked out by spring breakers. My room was in the middle of them all. (Paying guests should have been informed about this). The entire corridors (plural) were filled with music until late at night, screaming, running around- and a fight even broke out in the room next to mine after i asked them to turn down the music. I then complained to reception who did absolutely nothing and said she could not move me but i was welcome to find somewhere else to sleep- this was at 10pm on a Saturday night. There was no security on the door to deal with the fight or the noise so in the end at 11pm I had to find another hotel. There was never any apology or offer to help me find another hotel or even pay for the uber to get there. Honestly, it was shocking. To add insult to injury i was told that I would be refunded for the stay since the room i had booked was basically not usable for a night's sleep. Booking.com, who i booked though, have still not heard from reception to confirm this. Instead I just got a one liner to my own email from reception saying 'waive fees'- that was it. So now I'm wasting time between Booking.com and trying to hear back from someone responsible at Bryce (it's impossible to call or email) to get this fixed. I dont know who is the manager at this place but things are not being run correctly which is very sad. Added to which this hotel is basically for budget travellers. The rooms are basic and not at all what you would expect for the price. The only relatively nice area is the reception which they choose for most of their photography. I have never written a review like this but it was so bad I felt compelled so that other travellers can be aware. Avoid at all costs.

The valet is $52 dollars and not what was advised online. The property pictures showed lounge chairs but it was only for reserved rooms. The downsides; - the service, throughout, starting with reception is awful. - there was no linen for the sofa bed, despite booking a family room, we had to request this from reception. - there we not enough towels for all members of the family. - the sofa bed was broken, we asked reception to call maintenance. After an hour they hadn’t attended, and I managed to fix it myself. - there is no coffee machine in the room, this had to be requested from reception. By this point I was bored in asking reception for stuff. - water in the room was priced at $7 - the breakfast service was ridiculous. After sitting at a table for 10 mins, nobody even acknowledged we were there. - the host was giving tables to customers coming off the street, rather than hotel guests, that had already paid. - breakfast tables remained unclear for a long time, despite queues of people waiting - There were clearly not enough waiters for the size of the dining room. For 4 star prices, this hotel is absolutely not value for money. I’m pleased we are only staying one night before moving on. We are currently 2/3rds of a roadtrip between NYC and Miami and this hotel has been the only lowlight of the vacation. This is a 4 star hotel with 2 star (at best) service - do you yourself a favour and if you need a room in Savannah, stay away from the Kimpton Brice.

No iron in the room - but plenty of dog hair on the floor. No in-room coffee or tea, but dog treats and drinking station for dogs at the front desk. And the wifi? HOOOOORIBLE. I was there to work and ender up tethering to my phone as it was faster. The employees are very nice - really great bunch. But the hotel is in dire need of updates - unless you’re a dog, in which case it’s just fine.

At check-in, the clerk didn’t recognize or understand The Edit benefits nor provide a welcome amenity (which I understand is a bottle of water…). My first room was so mildewy it was a health hazard. Managed to get another room - which was dark and dingy but no smell. The walls are also paper thin. The breakfast was a disaster. Severely shortstaffed so took us 20 mins to get seated (not due to lake of tables), it took another 1 hour 20 mins to get food…which was inedible when it arrived. Absolutely do not stay here under any circumstance.

When I got to my turn the receptionist said they had over booked so I was being up graded to a suite! Seemed fair enough till we got to 225. It just stank of damp and there was a plumbing issue every time you had a shower so then smelt of bad drains. You can’t open windows so no way to alleviate the smell! I did ask to change but they said they were full and offered nothing by way of a gesture! Breakfast the next day was good but slow. We waited 40 minutes which would have been fine if we hadn’t had a tour to get to. I didn’t want to leave without saying anything this morning so told the receptionist the above as I checked out but she just said she was sorry and would make notes. You get the impression the staff just don’t care or they have no power to do anything so they just say sorry. Oh and they forgot to service our room too! So the hotel takes dogs and literally most people seem to bring dogs. There is no charge to bring a dog which makes the hotel very popular but with the best will in the world I think they make the place feel dirty the carpets on the corridor and on the lift just need extra vaccing to compensate, I think the hotel is just very short staffed. I’m sorry to write a bad review but staying in this dirty hotel spoilt my time in Savannah and they just need to up their act

- farrah (1/5): A shockingly bad stay - The location was pretty good Where to start. The floors were dirty. I was taken to a suite with no working lights (you pressed the light switch and it caved into the wall!) and a fridge that was so loud we had to unplug it. But the worst was what followed. The hotel had not told me that it was entirely taken over by spring breakers. I was left in a room that was literally shuddering with the sounds of parties and music. There was a fist fight in the corridor (witnessed by housekeeping who was as shocked as me) but when I went down to reception they seemed non plussed. I pleaded with them to do something as the hotel was unable to provide me with a ‘habitable’ room for the night but the woman on reception was all alone and just knocked on their room once to which they ignored her. In the end I had to check out at 10pm and find other accommodation . The receptionist did not apologise (only the lovey trainee member of staff). And I’m still trying to get a refund. The worst hotel I have ever get stayed in by a long way. Avoid. Unless you want a scrappy party hotel for kids.

We arrived late at night with our baby and they couldn’t find the reservation and said they were completely booked so couldn’t help and that it was booking.coms fault. Booking.com confirmed the reservation and that jt was the Kimpton mistake. After being on hold with booking.com in the lobby for over 30 mins with a tired and crying baby we finally found a new hotel down the street and left. About an hour later we received an email saying the Kimpton had found our reservation but at that point it was too late. I’m sure the hotel is nice but we will never book there again. I’m extremely disappointed with the entire experience and the service we received from both customer support and hotel.

- jkbeasley (8/5): Friendliest staff in Savannah - We’ve stayed at the Brice several times, including when it first opened years ago as the flagship of the Kimpton hotel chain. It’s still a very reliable mid range hotel, especially when there are events in Savannah that make other hotels completely out of reach. As other reviewers have noted, it is showing some wear and tear, but the rooms are comfortable and clean, and it is just off a square so you’ll always have a beautiful walk anywhere you go. The star of the Brice is the staff. They are warm, friendly, competent, and always a smiling face to assist in anyway. I hope Kimpton makes a little investment on the property for them because they’re the ones who made Kimpton the brand that they are when it was just an up-and-coming hotel chain.

I’ve stayed at several Kimpton properties over the years and have always had great experiences, which is why we chose this hotel for such a special trip. Unfortunately, our experience here was very disappointing. Our room had mold in parts of the bathroom, and the space overall felt damp and not as clean as we would have expected. We were told upon check-in that we received a room upgrade, so we were especially surprised by the condition when we arrived. The hallway and lobby also had a strong urine odor that made the space feel less welcoming. Savannah itself was wonderful, and the staff we encountered were friendly. However, the room felt moldy and unclean enough that we often dreaded returning to it. I reached out to the hotel during our stay and again after checking out to try to resolve this privately, but unfortunately have not received any response. Given the price we paid and the reputation of the Kimpton brand, this was extremely disappointing.

- LOVES2TRAVEL72 (2/5): NOT The Kimpton Hotel I use to know - NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY - My husband and I recently stayed overnight (February 21st - 22nd), and to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. I have stayed at this property several times in the past and have enthusiastically recommended it to friends and family as *the* place to stay in beautiful **Savannah**. What we experienced this time was not even close to the Kimpton standard I once knew. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt off. We pulled up to the curb and the valet stood at the valet stand typing on his cell phone, completely ignoring us. No greeting. No eye contact. No offer to assist with luggage. We retrieved our own cart and loaded our bags ourselves while he continued scrolling. I eventually had to approach him and ask if he was the valet and whether he would be taking our car keys — an interaction that did not inspire confidence. The lobby floors were visibly scuffed and dirty. While the front desk staff were polite enough, there was none of the warmth, attentiveness, or elevated service I’ve come to expect from **Kimpton Brice Hotel**. It felt transactional at best. Our room was located in the farthest, darkest corner of the building, down a long hallway with carpet that reeked of mold. We were placed directly beside an electrical room — complete with a large “Electrical Room” sign on the door — in what felt like a forgotten service corridor. Hardly the ambiance you expect when paying premium rates. The building itself appears to be in disrepair. While walking outside, I noticed several windows visibly rotting. Inside our bathroom, the toilet paper holder had clearly been ripped off the wall. Instead of properly repairing it, the area had been plastered over and the holder relocated awkwardly around the corner. It was sloppy and careless — a theme throughout the stay. To add insult to injury, the adjoining restaurant was equally disappointing. In 2026, it’s hard to believe they couldn’t offer a single gluten-free pasta or crust option for my husband. We decided to simply order two drinks and leave for another restaurant with better accommodations. We ordered a glass of wine and a vodka soda (vodka seven). When the drinks arrived, my husband’s glass had no ice and no carbonation. When we questioned it, the waitress casually responded, “Oh, I forgot the seven,” meaning it was simply a large pour of **Grey Goose** in a glass. That level of oversight is astonishing. The lack of customer service, pride in upkeep, and attention to detail was mind-boggling from start to finish. I’ve seen management respond to other negative reviews with templated apologies. I am not interested in a copy-and-paste response. I’m simply deeply disappointed. This stay cost nearly $500 USD for one night — and it was absolutely not worth it. This is not the Kimpton standard. When we checked in we were told that we would receive $20 off a meal at the hotel's restaurant, and I specifically asked and received assurances that room service was available. One of us is immunocompromised, so this was an important issue. But when we attempted to order dinner, after getting no answer to our call to room service, we learned that the restaurant had a banquet that night and was not providing room service. No effort was made to accommodate us. We were pretty disappointed at this level of service.

The location is unbeatable — close to everything we wanted to see and do, with multiple parks nearby that made traveling with our pet super easy and enjoyable. Being able to step outside and have great walking areas right around the corner was a huge plus. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and very welcoming to pets. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall vibe was relaxed and convenient. Restaurants, shops, and attractions were all within easy walking distance.

Hand print on the wall, cracked mirror in the living area. I work in a hotel myself and consider these things nothing major by any means. Location was nice, a walkable distance from many shops and restaurants. The thing that has absolutely killed the entire trip for me is that we left behind a stuffed animal in the room. One that is very important to our family. We know it was left there. We have made multiple calls and they claim not to have it. The first day they hadn’t cleaned the room yet - which is completely understandable. The 2nd day, no one has seen it. We’ve called and spoken to someone on all 3 shifts and submitted a ticket with IHG. How hard would it have been for someone to physically go to the room and check the first time we called? It’s not even something of value to anyone else, but to us it is priceless and we will likely never see it again because who knows what they’ve done with it at this point. Yes we can likely “buy a new one” but that does nothing for the sentimental value or the tears that have been cried in the mean time. If you stay here, triple check you have all of your belongings before you head out. They will not help you with locating it if you accidentally leave it behind.

Our selves and Many people could not get into our room until 5-5:30 because rooms were not ready. The rooms along the main road were very loud because of traffic, I believe better windows could help with the noise. This hotel allows pets, I know the hotel has no control over dogs barking, but as we were trying to sleep, it was just an added burden.

They told us we could come downstairs and get some cucumber water from the lobby. We paid CC at the bar and when we checked out the bar tabs had also been added to our room charges. When I called and asked for a manager to resolve the charge issue I was put on hold forever with no resolve. Finally got in touch with corporate and received a case number an a credit.

- Pattie (9/5): They always travel with our dog so I will always stay there to make everybody’s life easier and enjoyable dogs so I will - It’s nice to have a luxury hotel and be able to bring your dogs wherever you go rather than have them sit in the room. The food was delicious. The staff was exceptional. The property was fantastic for a dog, friendly people. I’ve never seen anything like it.

- Sabrina (9/5): Pet Heaven, Big Rooms and Perfect location - Extremely pet-friendly which we love. We dont feel like our dogs are being looked down upon but rather looked at as paying customers! The rooms are basic and big but the beds are very comfortbale. Location is 10/10 especially for walking the dogs. Cleanliness and friendliness could improve, but would still give it an 8/10.
- L1722TKbilll (2/5): Not a good experience several hotels in area for less price. - I’m a Diamond elite member normally traveling for business this time was a vacation I made reservations 3 weeks in advance asking to be accommodated with a higher floor which was not a problem according to personal we talked with. This request was not honored we were on first floor which is no big problem but room is dated, small, smelled of mildew, very old lamp fixtures and electric outlets falling out of furniture pieces next to beds, only one roll of toilet paper had to ask front desk for more and had to wait for the staff to find a roll. I personally would stay at Holiday inn just a couple blocks over which is a much nicer IHG motel for same or less price normally.

- Faith (2/5): For the price stay somewhere else. Don’t waste your time - The property was not clean. Rooms were not clean I saw dust and dirt all over the floors. Since it’s “dog friendly” baseboards chewed up in every corner. The staff at the front desk is NOT helpful, a simple question seems there they’re doing a favor. I had to call 3 times to the front desk to have the sofa bed pulled out and the staff member wanted me to personally take him up to open up my room so he could “show me how”. I mean if you stay here be prepared for zero customer service. The cleaning staff even mentioned that they ran out of clean linens. That is unheard of! Beware Dirty. Poor customer service.

- PG (8/5): Great, would return again! - Staff was friendly throughout our stay. Location was nice. Room was clean. Nice lounging spaces and friendly bartenders. Appreciated the water pitcher at the bar. Wifi worked fine. Beds were very comfortable and great there was a mini-fridge. Shower/toilet room quite small for a room with two queen beds. Did like that the sink was outside but need better lighting for use of the vanity mirror. Wished there was a broom available when we broke a glass accidentally overnight. Was told that housekeeping locks everything up. Wine hour option was great and staff very friendly but observed that some additional training on hygienic practices may be helpful?

Restaurant service was very slow. Wish our room had an extra blanket, I got chilly at night. A hot tub would be awesome!

- Imliooper (2/5): Lack of transparency in billing is very worrying and a matter of great concern. - We booked two rooms at the hotel to celebrate a special anniversary. We had one room booked fully on reward points for two nights. A second room was booked on cash plus IHG reward points. The hotel was good and comfortable. No complaints on that score. However, when the bill was presented, there were major issues. The hotel had unilaterally reversed my reward night, without reference to me. There were other items on the final bill which I could not explain to myself. The front office responded after several reminders but was not able to clarify the costs charged. I addressed the General Manager with a series of reminders. But silence prevails… Lack of transparency in billing is very worrying and a matter of great concern.
- Loor (10/5): Excellent hotel for dog owners. A+ location. Friendly staff. 10/10. - We really loved staying here. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The hotel was clean and the best part is how pet friendly they really are. If you have a pet don’t hesitate to stay here. The location was also perfect. I liked everything. The only thing I think could improve was the restaurant. I thought it was a bit overpriced for breakfast and my dish wasn’t bad but nothing great either. (We only had breakfast. No dinner)

- lucasaS6166VP (10/5): Great Hotel in Savannah! - Had a great experience at the Kimpton Brice Hotel in Savannah! Perfect location! Great Value and a quality stay. Beds and rooms are very comfortable. We also brought our dog, and the hotel is very pet friendly. They also do not charge a pet fee, which is a huge plus. The restaurant and bar is amazing, do not forget to try the pizza (they make pizza dough fresh every day). The staff also provided exceptional service. I highly recommend and I will be back when I visit Savannah
