• Travel is vital (8/5): Good place for an evening - It was easy to find, right where I wanted. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. The parking lot was rather small and congested with large trucks.

• Shandale (3/5): Don't do it! - Refrigerator seemed semi new and worked good and actually clean Room was dirty, curtains were old and hanging off the rod, pillows were flat, bed was uncomfortable, shower curtain was nasty, walls were dirty, carpet was dirty, all then furniture was old out dated and broken, front desk guy (possibly the owner) was not friendly didnt speak a word to me except for my dog fee and room number. Not worth the price we had to pay! I'd rather stay in my vehicle!

There were marks in the wall, like gouged areas. Staff were slow at check in time. They said the system was giving trouble and they would put our credit card number through later.

• Elizabeth (8/5): - Rodeway Inn was a reasonable rate. It was clean and certainly served me for my stay. The staff was kind and accommodating. The proprietor allowed early check in for me, as it available on that day. I was disappointed that the pool was closed (contrary to Expedia’s description) but there was a tidy microwave and fridge in the room, with Nescafé coffee available in the lobby at all times. If all you require is basic, this is good place with friendly service.

Couldn’t even understand half the time and then wouldnt believe I paid online so I told them what they were doing was fraud after I showed them I booked online!

Parking lot is shady with someone and a burn bin in the corner . People smoking dope in the cars and shouting at the others. The check in guy I have to call from the back room using the phone in the front. There are cans of pesticide in the front. Guy come out takes ure money gives u keys and goes back in to sleep or something .. The room is badly lit.. sheets were questionable to put lightly .. pillows are from someone’s couch.. I wrapped my tshirts on them was degraded .. microwave had cockroaches in it.. which btw cockroaches everywhere .. the tub had no plug so bugs came out of it tub was peeling ..shower head was rusted .. and the grand finale door was broken in half no jokes.. carpets were worn:.. and I literally overheard a woman at the checkin asking if she will be safe to the reception … Booking.com needs to remove this listing to keep standards

• Anonymous (1/5): So gross. - Not a thing It was filthy. There was not one wall that did not have filth on it, to include the iron that hung on the wall. The smoke detector…non existent. Half of the slide lock was missing so we had to push the gross chair in front of it. Even if someone was brave enough to take a bath, there was no plug for the tub. There was black mold around the window. The view? Well that was of a metal building. There was no sleeping in, as soon as the sun was up, we were gone.

I didn’t feel comfortable parking my car there because the area does not look safe and there were several people “hanging out” in the parking lot. The room itself wasn’t too bad. I will not stay there again.

Even our dog didn’t want to be in there. Considering that was the only room available under $500 in Fargo during the pink concert weekend. We still wished we would have dragged our clean camper to Fargo instead. Even if we would have spent the weekend in the Walmart parking lot.

• Wendy (10/5): Pleasant surprise - We booked this hotel due to its close proximity to the fairgrounds. After reading some of the bad reviews a few days ago, I almost cancelled our reservation. I’m glad we did not. This a no-frills hotel, which we knew when we booked. Check-in was fast and staff are pleasant. The hotel is going through renovations, and our room was one that has been updated. It was clean, the mattress appeared newer, and the bathroom had a new sink. A huge TV and a fridge and microwave were in the room, as well as plenty of storage. Although this hotel doesn’t offer breakfast, we were each given a goodie bag upon check-in that included a bottle of water, apple juice, yogurt, an apple and orange, and a breakfast bar. That was a very nice, unexpected touch. The only downside, which wasn’t even a huge inconvenience, was that we arrived home late and the parking lot was full, so we parked across the street. Nice stay at a decent price.
• Ashley (1/5): Absolutely terrible. - We booked this only because it was close to the fairgrounds. Upon entering the property, the parking lot was a disaster of trucks, trailers, cars, motorcycles, random equipment - nothing parked in a straight line. The trailers werent even attached to vehicles and had clearly been there for a long period of time. Looked like a junk yard. Broken glass at the entry. No parking available. Had to press a phone locator and waited for staff for quite some time. The pool area... I don't even know what was going on in there. Tools, equipment, bicycles, green water... I'm not even sure if it was open or not but I wouldn't let my dog in that water let alone my children. The smell of the building was absolutely disgusting. The room had an entire other deathly smell. I've never felt more unsafe, and dirty, and afraid to even leave my room, as we did in this motel.

There is newer floor whebut they carpet is cover the other half of the room and feels as though they placed it over random chucks of rock. The carpet feels wet to your feet and leaves your feet black if you mistakenly choose to walk barefoytside

Mattresses had evidence of bed bugs. Pool was so murky you couldn’t see to the bottom. We got the heck out of there and found somewhere else to stay.

• Danielle (5/5): Great room size, double check the amenities! - The room size was top of the line with plenty of space to spare which was beneficial since we had a short-notice add-on of a dog. The receptionist when we arrived was helpful in getting everything squared away quickly as we arrived at 130am. Additionally, I had accidentally booked 2 rooms and he was able to correct the error. I reserved the hotel based on the it having a pool/hot tub and a continental breakfast available. Upon arrival, we discovered that the pool area was not open and there was various construction items stored in there. At the check-in counter there was a sign stating that breakfast was not available.
• Best (9/5): I would most certainly stay again. - Warm and cozy and a perfect place to escape a blizzard! Coffee, I would have liked a cup of coffee in the morning.
• Kelsey (3/5): Sketchy area not worth it unless you just want a place to sleep - Nothing the room smelt weird, the beds are uncomfortable, when i booked the room it featured a pool. the staff said oh we took the pictures down but i was never alerted of the change or i would’ve cancelled my reservation. there’s no way to get staff to come out of the office where the door is always closed so you just awkwardly wait in the lobby until they decide to come out. when you shower their is a very loud whining sound that goes on during your entire shower wether it’s 2 minutes or 10 minutes.

Checked their website that night, there was no mention of the pool being temporarily closed whatsoever. They update their prices daily but don’t bother to let customers know that one of the big reasons some people use hotels for is not available.

The door and told the person at the front counter that I was in town for truck driving school and the I was told from the school that the hotel would give me a discounted rate. The person behind the counter didn’t care about a discounted rate and seen very upset and annoyed. I explained to him that my wife booked my room online under my name he acted is if he couldn’t see it and made me book a room from the expedia.com website. I told him it my wife already booked the room in which I gave him the confirmation number. He then inconvenienced me to the point that he made my wife email her drivers license and credit card information. Long story short this was by far the worst hotel stay from hell.
