Guest Reviews
- Sid Atmane (10/5): -
- Norman (7/5): Aangenaam verblijf.
- Deschuyter (10/5): -
- Ruud Wieggers (6/5): - Dichtbij mijn werkplek De prijs kwaliteit verhouding
- BOUVIER (9/5): -
- DHOOGE (8/5): Ideaal voor een kort verblijf. - De locatie. Niets
- Martin (7/5): Prima - Ontbijt goed Tv werkte niet
- DHOOGE (8/5): Voor herhaling vatbaar. - Prima locatie voor mijn doeleinden.
- Willem (7/5): Goed - Locatie Matrasen waren heel slecht
- serge (5/5): bon rapport qualité prix bien placé en centre ville mais l'intérieur a mal vieilli - Emplacement
douche moderne
prix correct
petit dejeuner Intérieur vieillot
restaurant passable
- Patricia (7/5): - Warm, clean room, great value for money. The staff were so great sorting my room at the last minute even though I was arriving late. I had been let down by other accommodation and it was so reassuring when they communicated quickly, confirming the room and i arrived to such an inviting warm room on a cold night. It was a bit basic. I was visiting Gent and it was a short drive away from the city. But otherwise it was great value for money.

- Nana (8/5): Comfortabel - Easy to find, calm area, very welcoming staff and the rooms are good for the price
- christian (7/5): -
- Denise (6/5): Pleasant - Home cooked food Location was not very interesting
- Ramadhani (10/5): Fantastic - Safety Calm
- Tim (9/5): great - It is a simple hotel a little bit outdated but had a great stay there The rooms are from the 80 s could be upgraded
- Lee (6/5): Clean, comfortable but restaurant was shut at the weekend. - The hotel was fine. It was as expected. The bed was really comfortable and a fan was provided. The stairs were very steep and marble - dangerous.
The check in wasn’t manned so we had to call and get a code for a key box.
The worst thing was we picked this hotel because it had a restaurant and bar - the listing didn’t tell us it was closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and those were the days we were staying. They needed to make that clear in the description.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - bien , bon passage
bon petit dejeuner , facile d'axes
- Verified traveler (8/5): - .Alle soweit in Ordnung. Würde ein zweites mal dort übernachten
- del3333 (2/5): Disgusting - The beds are crawling with hairs, bed lice and bugs, i was bitten several times whilst laying on the bed. The rooms are very poorly lit with no overhead lighting,
The room also had an extremely disgusting smell. No smoking signs are displayed, yet very clear that all the rooms have been smoked in.
The carpets are worn, smell and are torn in places, The internal stair case within the hotel are too steep and dangerous.
There are no staff on site to report any issues, hence the reason i left to find alternative accommodation. The worst hotel i have ever stayed in.
- Peter (8/5): Computerhotel - was Neues?
Koelkastje aanwezig, waterkoker, tv.
- P1241NQkarens (4/5): not recommended. - They had a problem with the drains which in turn made the room i was stopping in unbearable with the smell.there was no one around to tell so i had to wake my mother and father up and stayed in their room,so no one had a good night. When we went for breakfast there was no coffee in the machine and again no one was around to tell.
- KenWoo56 (6/5): Good hotel but overpriced - Cosy hotel in the small town of Zelzate. Rooms fulfill international standards (clean and equipped with basics), but could potentially use some maintenance (heating and sower temperature in my room couldn't be changed). The scrambled eggs for breakfast are very tasty, the rest rather basic. All makes up for good hotel, however the price of >100 euros is too much for that.
- hdwurzel (8/5): Something different - stayed here for 1 night with friends whilst attending a mussel party in town. arrived saturday afternoon and had been emailed a code for box on wall, let myself in and went to room. nice facilities free wifi with code in room. next morning difficult to find breakfast room as not easily signposted. the stairs to our room on 2nd floor was very steep with small steps so had to be careful when carrying bags. there were no lifts. Other than that a nice hotel and would stay again
- cynthia (8/5): Clean/Adequate for a Night - Overall, adequate for one night. A short drive to central Gent. Free parking and breakfast included. Breakfast was lovely. Room was big enough for 3 of us, clean, no a/c but had a fan which was fine. No lift in this 3 story hotel.
- 620kennethr (8/5): Great hotel - Brilliant and well priced. Comfortable rooms and basically everything you need. Even better if you are not a fan of scrambled eggs in the morning, perhaps the worst scrambled west of Suez. Aside that super.
- ihorz55 (10/5): I stay in this hotel day and night, fully saticified! - Istayed here for one night and had a good stay all time.. very, very freindly personal with full attention for guest's request. good and teasty meals.good breakfast! well decorated thanks a lot! Chief engineer I.Zotov.
- 365PeterS365 (8/5): Enjoyable stay - This was a clean and comfortable Hotel situated in the centre of the town of Zelzate, with free parking in the nearby streets. Our room was situated on the second floor, it was a spacious room, well decorated, and had a small kitchenette attached with a microwave oven, and a very welcome fridge. The only drawback was there is no lift, and the two staircases to the second floor are very narrow and steep. This will be a Problem for elderly guests in getting up to their rooms, especially with suitcases, etc. Otherwise the Hotel was fine, the staff were polite and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was adequate. I agree with previous Reviews in that there is nothing to do in zelzate, and we also recommend a nearby street cafe called "La Dolce Vita", absolutely great food!! By the way, just up the road by the local Petrol Station on the main road (Route 4) is a 1970 era Mark 1 German Leopard Main Battle tank between the Shops!!
- Rp (8/5): Work, stay and rest - This hotel is small, clean and located nicely if you have to work locally or on your way in between two destinations. My room was clean, comfortable and the bathroom was in great condition. Breakfast, although simple was fresh and you are well greeted in the morning. At dinner you will be offered the house specialty of spare ribs or the meal of the night. In 5 days i had the house specialty and 4 different meals. All included a soup, a salad and a main course. The ingredients were fresh and the food had flavor.
- joap (2/5): sem cama de casal - boa
- adavidanne (8/5): Good stay. - We stayed here for one night and had a good stay.
The room is comfortable, enough space and clean. Bathroom is very small but clean and a good shower.
There's a kitchen in the room and there's pots and pans and more materials to prepare a meal and plates and so for 2 persons. Also microwave and a fridge, table and 2 chairs.
You can park for free in the area of the hotel.
Breakfast was good but breakfast room is small and crowded when it's busy.
- CondadoJohn (8/5): Good, quirky hotel - Good, clean, spacious hotel, good breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. We visited while on a bike trip and there was no problem with bike storage at the rear garden. For some reason, the evening meal is only open to residents? There is a large dining area but only for guests. There were quite a few workers staying while we were there and I presume they get a better deal for a block booking? At the bar there was only bottled beer and only two choices of white wine (dry or sweet). The food was limited. We were offered a choice of Chicken curry or spare ribs. (Spare ribs is their house speciality so it is on every evening). There was a choice of soups as a starter - leek or chicken. Even though it was raining we opted to eat out and we were pleased, because we discovered La Dolce Vita just around the corner. This was a great find. One barman, one waitress and two cooks for a restaurant of about 40 diners. They were great. The Dolce Vita waitress was translating the menu for us, 'scampi (king prawns) in a sauce with . . oh I don't know the name, but it is the thing that vampires are frightened of . . ' 'You mean garlic?' 'Yes that's it, scampi with garlic.' We can recommend the Royal Zelzate and Dolce Vita combo.
- MattandAM (6/5): Clean rooms, nothing to do - Stayed here on business. The reception doesn't operate after about 21:00 so keys are in a safe at the side of the hotel.
The Restaurant doesn't appear to operate during the week, but the breakfast was OK. Was convenient for the office I was working from, so put up with the fact there was absolutley NOTHING to do in Zelzate of an evening.
- Hastur (8/5): Nice family run place - This is a relatively recent hotel, I think it only opened 3 years ago. It is family run and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable. Our room even had a small kitchen/cooking area.
It also has a restuarant attached, which looked to be of good quality and reasonable prices: it was certainly busy with what looked like mostly locals. We didn't eat there because there was no choice for veggies. There is also a bar for a nightcap or a cup of tea before bed (and very reasonably priced it is too).
The included breakfast was the usual three-star fare: bread, cheese, selection of meats, yoghurts, etc. Nothing special, but more than enough for us.
Only one small complaint: the sound insulation is very poor and if someone chooses to leave the tv on all night in the next room you will hear it! The hotel was pretty empty during our stay, so I have no idea how that would be if it was busy. However the area of town itself is very quiet, so there is no external noise.
If, like us, you can't get a room in Bruges or Gent then I can say this is a fine place to stay: it was only 20 minutes drive from Gent in the morning. There is a small selection of bars and restaurants in walking distance, so for one night it is great.
