Room was super comfortable and the food by owner chef Dafydd was out of this world, we purposely came here for my 65th birthday while travelling the UK. And we were not disappointed. Highly recommend coming to this little town. We only stayed one night !

We can recommend Room 11 - a large modern room in the new/separate part of the building. Staff were attentive and helpful. The hotel is dog-friendly and thoughtful touches were in the room for our dog as well as for us. It is an unusual combination but the pub/hotel seems to be the hub of the town and popular with locals, yet the menu is far more hotel than pub and really quite refined but quite excellent too! Well played Y Talbot - keep doing what you do. Having our dog with us meant we could only eat in the bar and not in the (posher) restaurant but it wasn't a problem on this occasion.

• John (10/5): A real supprise. Professionally run hotel. With staff rooms and restaurant to match. - Modern rooms that include aspects of the building heritage. We never (ever) normally stay in hotels that mention ‘dog friendly’ we don’t want to sleep in a room that has had animals in or constant yapping. This is not a reflection on our experience here, I suppose it’s luck of the draw.

• Tracy (9/5): Lovely relaxing stay with good staff and good - Extremely friendly staff and a very nice room too. Food was great as well - lovely breakfast and evening meals very tasty. I’m not sure if the room was supposed to be serviced on a 2 night stay but it wasn’t . Not an issue as we are fairly tidy anyway and there was enough tea and coffee to keep us going.

Evening meal was top notch and the waiter / bar staff were very attentive and made sure our eating experience went without a hitch. The next day I ordered a bacon and egg barm to go - organised with the breakfast waitress, who delivered it to my room. N / A

It was very quiet, no outside noise or doors banging in the night. Dogs were welcome. Lovely garden and a good walk near by. All staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful. The food was fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There was nothing to fault.

Room was too small and offered few refinements: s poor choice on my part. The ensuite shower was adequate but the extractor fan failed to live up to expectations so condensation was an issue.

• Jon (9/5): A lovely New Year stay in peaceful Tregaron! - Great hotel with wonderful staff. Good sized en suite room overlooking the town centre. Very comfortable bed and good range of tea/coffee and biscuits. Parking at the rear for 5 to 6 cars and on street parking straightforward. The Talbot is clean and tidy with two bars and guest dining room plus other areas. Our (NYE) dinner was excellent! We liked everything about The Talbot and will consider staying there again.

Delicious bag of biscuits and high quality teas, coffees both decaff and caffinated. Plenty of sachets of milk too. Breakfast in the morning was the best. Delicious local sausages and thick back bacon. Scrambled egg as it should be. I will definately be back and bring friends too. Nothing

Twin room beds were a little short for me at 6ft 2. But of a chock when someone walked on the roof first thing in the morning. I’m sure she got an eyeful.
