Guest Reviews
- Pm (10/5): - The property was perfect and clean. Walking distance from city centre.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Ceiling Too Thin - We were woken at 6am in the morning by children running around / footsteps in the upstairs apartment and could not get back to sleep.
- Suziana (10/5): Spacious clean apartment! - Excellent stay for a big family like ours! Spacious, clean and easy to get to. Thank you!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The apartment look its great and very clean. Will booked it again
- Adrian (10/5): First time in liverpool - First time visiting Liverpool with friends. Found the people to be very friendly and helpful. Apartment was lovely and beds were really comfortable. Also I found it to be cheaper than Ireland 😃 would definitely visit again and I will book mays house again
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The beds was very uncomfortable. especially the sofa beds where you can feel all the springs. Also the towels was dirty and there was no sponge or washing up liquid to wash dishes.
Would not rebook
- Robyn (8/5): Quick review - The apartment was huge, 2 large bedrooms, a large bathroom, an en-suite, lounge with access to a outdoor deck, dining room table to seat four, full kitchen including a washer. I would not hesitate to recommend this to friends as it was clean and had everything we needed.
- Michael (6/5): May's house Liverpool - The Apartment is basic, it is clean and good size. some basic things are missing there is no shelf or table in the bathroom to put your toiletry bag and brush on.
there is a towel radiator but I could not work it.
The towels were nice and large soft cotton towels but you can not dry them fast if you need to.
The wardrobe was full of spare pillows and Extra bedding you can not empty your suitcase.
The Hotel is just over a mile from the docks and town centre, not an easy walking distance to do several times a day.
The area is quite and my stay was pleasant enough.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay, would recommend - Had a great stay, lovely apartment, clean and well equipped.
- Lucy (10/5): Perfect - Pleasantly surprised by this place, large rooms, two bathrooms, which were perfect for four girls getting ready to go out, everything we could've needed was provided and a short taxi drive to the centre was the icing on the cake. We will definitely be staying here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The appartment was very dirty when we arrived. We had to wash all the appliances and plates/bowls before use as they were in a bad state. The room we had was just outside the front door so we could not sleep with windows open due to the smokers out the front.
The walls are thin so you can hear everyone above you or in the halls.
The location was good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): May's house - Helpful staff allowed early check in to change for a wedding. Good value.
- Martin (4/5): Noisy Guests above! - It was clean and tidy, but the pot and pans were ready for to be replaced, the curtains were hanging by a thread. The staff there were great and helpful. But on our second night the noise from above was very bad until gone midnight, the guests were banging and shouting, slamming doors, someone fell over and I thought they were coming through. It was only the other people staying above that ruined our stay! Nobody was around to sort it out, as they were out of control.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Was an ideal place to stay for a visit to the university with our daughters.
- victoria (8/5): - the staff were very warm and welcoming, let us check in early as the room was ready and moved the beds around so we could have a double instead of two singles. Only thing is I think the cost, about £150 was steep for the accommodation, obviously just because of the date, and there were no other options, but we would definitely return for a cheaper stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - First time staying here for my birthday weekend! All staff were extremely helpful and always friendly, looked exactly like the pictures, provided with all essentials in the kitchen and bathroom. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thank you.🤗
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Spacious
Dislike- no soap, washing machine not working, dvd player not connected, no cable to connect
- Mike (10/5): Great find - Good quality accommodation a short walk from the city centre. Would highly recommend it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great apartment for a night away - Lovely apartment, well maintained
- Margherita (10/5): Helpful staff - Location was great, and the size was perfect
- sheri hen (8/5): - Great welcome and check in. Quiet area, just a short taxi ride to the city centre. Reassuring security on the door when we got back from our hen party.
- Elfi (6/5): The hotel stays on a very good place. - It was a big surprise, that Liverpool got a very clean and modern city. I liked the harbour but also the centre was interesting.
We saw much perfect dressed ladies on the ladies day. We found also a very good italien restaurant the name was Il forno. The travel by ship on the Mersey was very beautiful.
- Gary (2/5): Most expensive and worst accomodation ever booked - 4 out of 5 rating on various sites is overly positive. Only realistic one said it is inaccurately described on websites as a hotel – it’s a hostel! It accurately describes a run-down, unsafe-feeling area. One wonders who wrote the other reviews! It was Grand National w/e but this is most expensive hotel we ever booked, including centre of Vienna or Manhattan, and by far the worst – cheap build, poor workmanship and damp chipboard smell, suggesting a flood. Bathroom really basic – no toilet roll holder, poorly fitted lino, paint on sink/toilet & tiny old cupboard. Floors creaked so loudly that hearing is believing. Website says 4 beds but only 2 single beds and 2 cheap sofa beds. Not enough bedding for sofas which didn’t fit - sheet too small; quilt cover for a double when only a single available - list goes on. Walls poorly decorated, recessed lights falling out & kitchen water damaged. Not enough crockery/cutlery & expected appliances from web descriptoin not present. Oh, and extractor to outside next to window through which you see light - all noise from outside (smokers & those who sit on cars and talk for hours), came into room as if window open. Walls paper-thin & no sound insulation in ceilings. Other rooms had guests jumping around, shrieking, partying all night and using beds like trampolines. We got no sleep before they went quiet at 5am. Only positive thing is that cleaners did their best with what they had - the place was clean. We will never stay there again.
- John (10/5): Top drawer - To be honest when the taxi was dropping us out, we were a bit susprised in him telling us it was a very rough area , and a bad place to stay,so we dident know what to expect, the area seemed fine to use, and Mays house was top drawer, for lads to get away, close to town and had everything we needed, the staff were on hand when needed and a great help, will for sure stay again next time we are over for a match , it was perfect,
- Verified traveler (8/5): Mays house stay - Very nice apartment and clean. All equipment at hand. Friendly, helpful staff/owners. Could if been a little more central but happy overall and would recommend
- Malcolm (10/5): Thank you Thomas for a very enjoyable stay - Friendly greeting on arrival. Apartment was well furnished and very well equipped. Maintained to a high standard and very clean.Located about 15-20 minutes from all places of interest.(our tip is to walk along hop on/off bus route in reverse starting at Anglican Cathedral).Takeaway and local food store close to hand.Excellent value for money and free parking.
- Linda (10/5): Warm and friendly - It was wonderful to have room to move, a kitchen to cook in, and close parking.
- michael (10/5): Excellent - Totally fantastic superb in every aspect of staff brilliant. Thoroughly recommend
- faye (10/5): Lovely apartment - Lovely apartment, vary spacious and modern looking. Close to city centre, will be staying again.
- Sian (10/5): Exceeded expectations - Short break with a friend
- Emily (10/5): Lovely apartment - I recently went with a group of girls for a 21st birthday. The staff were really nice and looked after us straight away. The apartment was lovely with loads of space and everything we needed.
- Sydney (8/5): In the Dingle - 4days to see family very handy to city center and our family off road parking ok street a bit narrow but had no problims. Clean friendly ,missed a teapot and egg cups.would stay again.
- Alan Joseph (8/5): May's place! - We only stayed for the one night, thought it was a little expensive. Just one little complaint which is, we ordered a double bed. Our apartment had two single beds that could not be clipped together. Only a little thing but it took the shine off our stay in Liverpool.
- Debra (8/5): nice stay - Nice place bit noisey as would be expected
- Verified traveler (10/5): My visit to May's House - May's House was very good value for money.About 1/2 hour walk into Liverpool but No 82 Bus from main road was very frequent and ran late into the night.Accomodation was very spacious and had everything you could have wanted.Would certainly recommend.
- Dalia (8/5): Nosy - Very clean and tidy. So nosy till 5 am you can hear nigheber . Carten so light you can even see the road light while your are in the bed .
- leonard (2/5): Never again - This property is not properly listed. It is a hostel, not a hotel. Had 2 twin beds and no amenities. No one to talk to when theheating didn't work. Terrible neighbourhood.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Fantastic - Good value for money if you are travelling with family.
- olagolden (10/5): Comfort in a fine space. - Wonderful. Beyond description.
- M (10/5): Really Roomy Apartment - Really spacious apartment with big bedroom, bathroom, and living area. It even had a washer/dryer! The kitchen was fully equipped. I only stayed a night but I think this would be a wonderful place to stay if in Liverpool for longer, especially if wishing to save money by self-catering. There was also good wireless Internet connection.
- Verified traveler (10/5): nice and quiet - love the staff........love the river........... love the people
- Liz (10/5): Perfect apartment - Absolutely brilliant apartment. Just what we needed for a short stay. The staff were very nice & friendly as well, which is always a big plus.
The apartment is situated next to a chippy & convenience store, which is handy. On-site parking is very useful.
Within walking distance to all the major attractions; Liverpool One & Albert Docks etc, only takes approx 20/25 mins. There is also taxi firms and busses if walking is not your thing...
The room itself was great for the two of us; we had a kitchen (microwave, cooker, sink, washer etc) and the shower was actually brilliant (a lot better than some weedy showers we often get stuck with, and it was nice hot water!). The bed was not the comfiest of things BUT it served it's purpose for the two nights.
All in all, I would def come back and stay here again if I needed to, and would recomend to a friend.
- Florida Pete (10/5): This is not the Ritz but for value it is fantastic - This property is value for money. The facilities were excellent albeit fairly basic. It was clean and the staff were very helpful and obliging. We were allowed to check in early. The area is not fantastic, however, it is only about 15 minutes walk to the centre of Liverpool. Wifi is free and very fast. Kitchen facilities are well appointed. I would recommend this property to someone who wants a cheap stay in Liverpool.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean 'get what u pay for' apartment. - Very friendly staff. Good clean budget accommodation so don't expect luxury!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely Hotel - Friendly staff and great room. Would recommend to anyone. Enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.
- Jan & Stuart McAuslane (8/5): - No crititism on stay. Exactly what we expected for price we paid
- Jc (8/5): Little break. - Not too far from all amenities, within walking distance of city (if you're able bodied) and cheap enough in a taxi if you don't fancy the walk.
Apartment was very spacious and generally quite clean, little bit noisy in the late evening, but otherwise excellent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Graduation stay - We had a great stay Comfortable/ clean and very friendly helpful staff. Mays house is very convenient for Cathedral and Docklands area.
- Charlotte Martin (10/5): - Great room, service and price will definatly go again soon
- Lori (6/5): Decent place to stay near city centre - We arrived very late and we were given a text of how to get in, which all worked out very smoothly. Accommodation was basic but had everything we needed for a quick overnight stop. Location a little strange but we only wanted to put our heads down for a night so served its purpose.
