- JillM514 (8/5): Afternoon tea - Our only reason for coming was to have afternoon tea and we were not disappointed. The selection was not the boring limp finger sandwiches but a prawn cocktail, a mini burger and chicken thigh. The sweet was a cream brulè choex bun and a cherry apple thing. Plus a sticky toffee scone. Could hot fault the food. All the was amazing. Our main server lady was fantastic but the service was a little slow and they did forget our scones… but we got them and delish Definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a different style of afternoon tea
- 509LauraI (10/5): 10/10 - Visited this weekend with a group of girls for a friends birthday. All the staff were amazing from the moment we arrived and really went out of our way to make sure we had a great time. Would recommend for anyone visiting Dundee, so central. Will definitely be back!
- W7491ZDjenniferc (4/5): Very very disappointing - I have always wanted to stay @ Malmaison so my husband booked us a junior suite for our wedding anniversary on the 17/04/26. Upon entry we greeted by a friendly member of staff who quickly found our booking and gave us our key card and our room was room 303. This was by far one of best experiences of our stay. On the way to room there was a really stale smell and I’m presuming it came from the carpets which looked like they were in need of replacing. The room itself looked lovely on the surface and had a the amenities stated in the booking but as the evening went on I wasn’t impressed. The room itself wasn’t cleaned properly, it was really dusty on the windowsills, round the bed and on and in the corners of all the skirting boards. I sat on the bed and leaned on one of the cushions and it had a yucky dirty mark on it. It was plain to see so I don’t know why house keeping didn’t notice it. I then went to have a bath and u could feel scum marks round it so this wasn’t cleaned properly either. One of the perks of having a suite is having a robe supplied so after my bath I used the robe and tbh I was really annoyed as it was too small. I’m by no means big @ a size 14. As myself and my husband wasn’t going out for the evening we decided to use the tv. I was really disappointed about the range of channels/apps on the tv. The only options were basic to say the least. We have stayed in budget hotels which have tv’s that support apps etc so to stay in a boutique hotel I would expect there to be the same. As for the shower I was really disappointed at the size. It was far smaller than what I expected. I did look at photos of the room beforehand but I didn’t see any photos of this extremely small shower. I definitely won’t be going back as it was supposed to be a treat for an anniversary and I was left feeling extremely disappointed. We travelled from Aberdeen to Dundee for this trip and it feels like a total waste of time and money. I could have stayed @ a much cheaper cleaner hotel and saved myself the disappointment.
- 803lynzm (2/5): Abysmal - I've stayed at this location on several locations, mostly because it allows dogs. The last stay, the did not tell us that the signature suite (which we opt for when staying) was having renovations done UNTIL we arrived, and we were put in a regular suite instead. This would have influenced our decision to rebook somewhere else or postpone our trip but they only let us know on check in. Pretty poor. The last stay was a joke. Considering it was supposed to have had renovations, the signature suite was in poor condition, stains on the furniture, dirt around corners of the room and to top it all, the "ambient" lighting in the bedroom area would not turn off. I called front desk for a resolution, none could be offered. I had a child with me, we need sleep, whole point of staying over somewhere. Someone came up and I'd have had more joy dealing with a block of cheese. Ultimately, we had to take the key card from the front door area which then disabled all electrics for the room. By the time this occurred, child was 3h past their bed time and distraught, because of people having to come in to try fix the issue (with no actual resolution or fix). No rate reduction or goodwill gesture for this absolute chaos. No apology in the morning. We very much doubt we can stay here again.

- Mitches (8/5): Great cosy stay - Really enjoyed our stay all staff friendly and attentive. Impressive building in a super central location. Our room was cosy bed very comfortable with crisp white bed sheets. Quality bathroom. Such a great breakfast plenty good quality cold buffet selection including freshly baked croissants and a very tasty cooked to order hot breakfast. All served in an impressive dinning room with proper heavy cutlery and cloth napkins. Nice cocktail bar to chill in too. Couple niggles some areas a bit tired and in need of a bit of paint. Plus you don’t need to use your key to go up in the lift so anyone not staying in the hotel can have access to the floors where the rooms are which is not ideal from a security point of view 🤔
- H8707POpaulb (10/5): We love the Malmaison Dundee - We had a gorgeous suite with a huge bed, a sofa, a chill-out space and a magnificent bathroom. All very comfortable. We got very good sleeps. Ate at the hotel three times, twice in the Chez Mal Brasserie and once in the bar. Food, drink and service were (with one exception) impeccable. The hotel is very convenient for city centre, V&A Dundee, Discovery and the railway station. We’ve been before and are already booked to go again. It’s a very fine hotel. However it’s let down by system failures (our agreed room cleaning schedule didn’t work) and Malmaison’s central management (which posts offers but doesn’t put them on the system or notify hotel staff). We wasted time trying to get a dining offer - the barman couldn’t have been less interested but reception and brasserie staff were exceptionally helpful. Neither problem spoiled our very successful stay, though the latter easily could have done.

Awful boom-boom club music, with a couple trying to enjoy a quiet drink. This is the Malmaison for goodness sake! The ambience was a bit cheap & nasty too. I’ve stayed in these hotels before, none have been like this.
- markfcLondon (2/5): Cheaters - I considered cancelling my room as my circumstances changed slightly. I requested cancellation options through booking.com, however, the hotel staff couldn’t even be bothered to contact me with options and claimed a no show. This was definitely not a no show. If you have no mitigating circumstances this place is probably alright, but if you do this lot are a load of cheaters. Book elsewhere and NOT through booking.com

- Leesacee (6/5): A Carers break. - I am an unpaid carer and I booked myself and my son in to the hotel for a night for a break and treat. I arrived and got checked in fine and the man at the desk was friendly. I had booked a cosy room. I was sad to find it was not in a good state of repair. There was a hole in the bath, dirty hand marks on the wall, a hole in the wall, black mold all around the bath. I went to reception to show the man (sorry, I didnt get his name) and he apologised and marked the room as needing repair. He then offered me an upgrade to a club room. So I packed and moved rooms. This room was much bigger and nothing seemed wrong until I tried to call for room service, the phone had been pulled out the wall and live wires were showing. Again I spoke at reception and he apologised again. He asked if I was ok to stay there or wanted moved again. I said as much as I didn't want to pack and move again I felt I needed to having a young autistic child with me for safety. I was given another key and off I went to move our things again. This process took around 2 hours and I was shattered. Wasn't the rest I had been looking for. We finally had a lovely room in the end. It did highlight the need for room checks to be done for damage. We ordered food from the brasserie from a fabulous young man who was so good with everyone from what I could see. He was chatting to my son and keeping him very happy and gave him some paper and crayons. Certainly have some lovely staff. Food was lovely. Next day the breakfast was fantastic. Continental high quality and a cooked option too. Very very tasty.

The room was impressively spacious and beautifully laid out, with a lovely rounded sofa that added both comfort and style. Everything was immaculately clean and clearly very well maintained. The bathroom was excellent, featuring a modern walk-in shower that felt both luxurious and practical. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I particularly appreciated the range of pillows available, with different levels of firmness to suit everyone’s preferences — a thoughtful touch that made for a great night’s sleep. I chose this hotel because of its ideal location right next to where the buses depart for Edinburgh Airport, which is incredibly convenient, especially for early morning flights. The ease of access made the whole journey far less stressful. Overall, this was a fantastic stay from start to finish. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, cleanliness, and convenience.
- sunshinekimmmy (10/5): New Year treat ! - Arrived on the 1st jan to a lovely welcome at reception and checked in within minutes .Our club double room was perfect, clean ,comfortable and cosy .Bathroom was a little bit of luxury with shower and separate bath and very spacious . Bed was super comfortable with crisp white sheets and bouncy pillows. That staircase though !!! Stunning ,the whole place looks like a winter wonderland . Breakfast was delicious and freshly made to order . Only negative feedback I have is the scaffolding around building which did spoil the stunning view over the water so we have promised to return and try amd get same room when its down (Any excuse !). Amazing stay ❤️

- seanmM9069SP (8/5): Decent stay but not without issues! - Had a reasonable stay at the Malmaison Dundee over, staying on Saturday 6th December. The good points; 1. Staff very friendly, polite and professional throughout - clear they are well trained and all has excellent customer service skills 2. The room we had (a Club Room) was very nice - good size, very clean with a lovely bathroom. 3. The Brasserie was excellent - we had booked in for evening meal and despite being very busy, the food and service was fantastic Bad points; 1. I know this is referenced in several other reviews, but if you're staying on a weekend, make sure you ask for a room at the river facing side of the hotel. We had room 316 which faced into Whitehall Cresent and was above the very noisy Dubliner Bar below - appreciate the hotel can't control the bar below, but maybe some forewarning of this, or consideration of greater soundproofing should be considered as the music/ noise went on well past 1am. 2. Bar downstairs - whilst this is a lovely setting for a drink, the hotel needs to put more resource into this area! (again I appreciate we stayed on possibly the busiest weekend of the year for the hotel) - waited about 20 mins to be served to try and get a cocktail, but we ended up getting frustrated and gave up - management need to look at this urgently
- andrewwG1997BB (2/5): Writing this review while I wait to place my breakfast order. - Utter rubbish! Every part of this stay was awful. Couldn’t find the booking to begin with. Room was dark and dingy. Christmas party food was atrocious - people who ordered beef didn’t get any veg whatsoever, everybody else’s was tiny, none of it tasted particularly nice. The bar was seriously understaffed so getting a drink was a mission. Then they ran out of vodka. I’m not sure what needs to be done to get served for breakfast. Maybe try employing more staff! Definitely will never be back in any capacity. This place should be left to die and then knocked down.

The location is ideal, just a short walk to the city centre shopping area and the railway station. Staff were excellent friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Great value.
- kristinlagesen (4/5): Lack of receipt - My stay at this hotel was acceptable in terms of the accommodation itself, but the experience was seriously undermined by poor professionalism. Despite repeated requests, the hotel failed to provide a receipt for my stay. This is a basic service that guests should be able to rely on, especially when documentation is needed for work or personal accounting. The lack of response and follow-up reflects disorganization and disregard for guests. Having to chase something as simple as a receipt is frustrating and leaves a very negative impression. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone who expects seriousness and proper customer service.

- l0uiseb92 (6/5): Underwhelmed by chefs table at Sunday lunch. - Been for Sunday several times.While the roast sirloin main was good my lasting impression was a threadbare chefs table . I always look forward to this but from my last visit it truly was underwhelming.. Used to chefs table being a lavish buffet but not any more. No spoons to serve the bowls of humus etc and no lemon to squeeze on the salmon. No horseradish sauce for the roast beef .Really.

- Iona (10/5): - My room was huge and luxurious. Good shower, blackout curtains. 2 hours late checkout for £15. The airport bus leaves right from front of the hotel, and station is a 3 minute walk. V&A Dundee is only about 5 minutes walk. Only issue was the heater in my room didn't work.

- Diane (6/5): - The first room they put me in was a dungeon…. I literally could not see the sky through the dirty window facing a brick wall. I begged them for another room, as it was thoroughly depressing. They were full that night. The next day they put me in the most beautiful room one floor up. It faced the river and was deeply satisfying to my soul. I come to Scotland every year to visit my mother who has Alzheimer’s, So to come back to the depressing first room was just the worst. Sadly, when I returned to the second room after visiting my mum, I discovered the whole fourth floor AC system was broken. So they had to move me again one floor below. Louis and Brian were very helpful in upgrading and moving me. I was grateful they still gave me a river facing room, but it was not nearly as special as the one I just left. The rest of my stay was OK. I got the breakfast included option, which was nice. The staff in there were lovely. The facility itself is in much need of a facelift. The wallpaper, lighting, carpet, and fixtures are all very tired. There was lots of visible dust. I probably won’t go back there again. I think I’ll get a city center apartment next time. Whatever you do, DO NOT book a cozy double - which was what they called the dungeon room. Nothing cozy about it. The best part about the hotel is that the edinburgh airport bus literally stops right outside the front door.
- Victoria (6/5): - Receptionist not very friendly or welcoming, gentleman behind the bar a bit too opinionated on his personal views. Rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast cooked to order and had a good choice.
- Quest33698549534 (2/5): Aweful - The hotel is tired, marks on the ceiling and walls, stained carpets and mould in the bathroom. The dinner which was pre ordered, after half an hour waiting received our starter, which was cold. Said the the waitress if the main could be hot, and after another hour wait the over cooked fish and cold potatoes arrived. After two bites I made my apologies to colleagues and left. No idea what the desert was like, but from reports from others that suffered wasn't much better. Great kabab house across the road, which alot of colleagues visited. Breakfast was equality disappointing, with an worst eggs benadict I've ever had, undercooked eggs, untoadted muffin oh and yes, cold. Had some cereal and left. The night before stayed at the premier inn, great sleep, great rooms, fantastic breakfast and substantially cheaper. No brainer for a recommadtion for future visits to Dundee.

- Michael (10/5): - Beautiful room with a lot of space, high ceilings, sumptuous decor and a touch of local pride. I had a room with a great view, a luxury bathroom and all the trimmings. A huge, comfy bed let me get a good night's sleep. Staff at reception and at breakfast were welcoming, friendly and efficient. I also really like that I can so easily walk to this hotel from the train station. I've stayed here on several occasions and it's been consistently excellent. I've stayed in several other hotels in Dundee and think the Malmaison is the best option.
- DundeeDad (2/5): How the mighty have fallen - The last time I was in the Malmaison was back in 2022 and at that time it was such a lovely place to dine and chill out. Recently myself and partner decided to visit for cocktails on our anniversary, choosing to lounge in the bar area as previously done over many years. We ordered two cocktails and asked for them to be put on a tab (which we’ve done previously, often having more than one and some nibbles). The barman said a tab would be fine, but they’d need a bank card from either of us to “put in the safe”. I thought his humour was fantastic and laughed - you know because it is Dundee after all. Being born and bred here, you know places can be rough, but not the Mal. He was serious, he wanted a bank card. Absolutely blown away, I gave him one that was expired, and in return he gave me a dirty looking scabby key and informed me that once we’re finished, pop back to pay and I’ll get my card back. Nothing 5* about this at all. Off he went with my expired bank card - clearly not educated enough to check that, but okay! We had our cocktails, nothing fancy to be honest and at £14 a pop, you’d expect they would at least taste good - I’ve had better cocktails from a can in a budget supermarket. Suffice to say we drank up and left. It’s such a shame that this is the way the Mal are now doing business. It seems a bit desperate and the class it once retained has well and truly evaporated along with the decor and character of the hotel. Most likely won’t be back - Dundee has plenty more offerings without the need for a customers bank card to be put into a safe!

- donnamarief638 (2/5): Terrible food for an extortionate price! - Not much for a vegan unless you want a falafel burger, had the prawn Linguini without the prawns and what I received was absolutely tragic, half a bowel of pasta with 7 cherry tomatoes 🫣 no seasoning or anything, had to ask for tomato sauce just for a bit of taste, the other meal was chicken and apparently it was dry, I was £21.50 for the bowel of pasta and a few tomato's, the bill came to £78.00, didn't get a receipt so God knows why it was that much, 2 crap meals and 2 drinks. Plus I had to ask for a drink 10 min after arriving, apparently they forgot about us, then at the end I asked for the bill, they forgot about us again, eventually I had to stand at the till as I had prior arrangements, staff were uninterested in every way possible! Overall could have had a much better meal for 2 for drinks for half the price!.

Check in and restaurant staff were pleasant but the front desk attendant when we left literally couldn’t have cared less and barely looked up. Ok for one or two nights but could be better.

- Sasdax (10/5): Lovely stay with excellent staff and dog friendly touches - We had a lovely stay in a large, well-maintained suite with fantastic views of the V&A and Discovery. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable, with the bonus of dual showers, twin basins, and plenty of quality toiletries. Tea, coffee, and a well-stocked minibar were also available. While there was a slight issue with dust around some furniture and the bed, this didn’t spoil our stay. The location is ideal—just a short walk to the city centre shopping area and the railway station. Staff were excellent—friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Our dog was well catered for too, with treats, a comfy bed, and a water bowl provided. Would happily stay again.

The shower was unusual in that the head was so large the door wouldn't open properly, bit it was certainly powerful. There's some cheap parking over the road and it's close to some great bars.

- jennyjenjen76 (6/5): 3 night stay for husbands 50th & our Wedding Anniversary - Positives - Lovely big room, exceptionally clean. Mini fridge was great for keeping water cold. Good storage space. Great location. All the staff we had interaction with, were very friendly. Had a meal in Chez Mal, food was delicious, staff very attentive. It was a relaxed atmosphere, and we weren't rushed to finish meal, we were told relax and take our time. Negatives - Before our arrival to hotel, we were emailed and asked if we wanted to do an e-request for an upgrade which we would only find out upon check in. We did e-request. On arrival to hotel ( 12.40) we asked about request to be told hotel was chock-a-block and no upgrades available. This was a little disappointing as I'm sure hotel would have known at time of sending email about upgrade that they would have been fully booked, especially considering there were alot of events going on. The size of the room was great, but as we were there as a couple, only 1 chair was in the room. Room only, was £180 - £200 per night ( I received a discount when booking as I had a discount code), paying this amount of money, you would expect the room to be flawless. There was paint chipped off the walls, skirting boards. The bathroom door on the inside was all chipped at the bottom. Damp patches on the ceiling. We were in room 416, which was noisy at night due to pub being underneath. Overall we made the most of our stay, although didn't feel it was great value for money.
- D12345678900 (6/5): Great Location, food and people. - Stayed three days, two nights. As the title says, great location by the River on the verge of town with bars, shops and restaurants all on your doorstep. The hotel bar is good, breakfast was great and the restaurant for dinner is really good. It’s an old building. Some rooms have good views out towards the river, others much less appealing. If a view is important, ask at check in. So why only three stars? Well two small things in my room. Firstly woke up middle of night thirsty. Nothing to drink. The mini bar isn’t stocked and they don’t supply any water. Remarkable for a four star hotel. So if you don’t know and plan ahead, it’s not great in the middle of the night. Second, no toilet brush. I don’t know why they don’t want guests to be able to clean their toilet, but at least they have to clean them then. Mine wasn’t cleaned mid stay so maybe at least supply the maids with toilet brushes if you don’t want them in the bathrooms. Overall I’d happily return as the location, staff and food are all great. I had a great couple nights sleep so next time I will bring my own water and toilet brushes 😂

Great central location and nice bar and outside seating area where you can have a drink if the weather is nice which is sheltered and private. Only down side is the limited vegan options. The staff did very well to check everything for me as the labelling is limited particularly at breakfast. What would be great is a separate veggie/vegan menu with more options. I would stay here again but probably wouldn’t eat here again unless more and better vegan options

- 662garryf (8/5): Lovely Hotel That’s Starting to Feel Tired - Stayed at the Malmaison in Dundee recently. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and the room itself was stylish and comfortable, exactly what you’d expect from Malmaison. However, there were quite a few small flies in the room, and overall, the space felt a bit tired. It might be time for a refresh or upgrade. Had dinner in the restaurant and the food was genuinely fantastic, great quality and presentation. That said, we couldn’t help but notice several other tables around us raising complaints, mostly about delays with drinks or service issues. While we didn’t experience anything major ourselves, it did affect the overall atmosphere. In general, it was a fine stay, but it’s clear the hotel isn’t quite what it used to be. It still offers charm and comfort, but it’s starting to feel a little worn around the edges.
- meganlT5307KX (10/5): Best cocktail making class for a hen do! - On saturday the 12th of July. I attended a hen party at malmaison. We booked out a private room, which was exactly the right size. We were introduced to Josh who was there to host a cocktail making class. Josh went out of his way to help in any way he could. He went above and beyond his job role to make our celebrations that extra bit special. Josh was amazing, he helped with decorating, greeting our guests with grace, and finally it came to the cocktail making class! Josh taught us how to make delicious cocktails, he handled 24 hens with ease nothing was too much trouble for Josh and I honestly can’t thank him enough for everything. Jamie who was on bar, was just as incredible. He was always on hand when a drink was needed and worked wonders with increasingly drunk hens! His alternative suggestions went down a hit and again nothing was too much trouble. Jamie made you feel like you had known him for years. A great quality to have in a bartender. Thank you to Robbie who was on hand to receive the gushing praise that we all had for Josh and Jamie. And thank you for adding to my notes so that I could write this when the hangover had cleared. Thank you to you all for getting our hen shenanigans off to the right start.
- cbK7876FG (10/5): A Gem in the Centre of the City - Wonderful stay, the staff really are the best in the business. The staff here could not do more for their guests, relaxed but attentive, friendly and accommodating. We all had a brilliant time. We stayed in two suites and a double room as a lot of family staying, the suites were stunning, huge rooms and claw-foot baths with great views of the V&A. Staff helped us with parking, a dog, breakfast, room temperatures, table service in the bar area… and more, always with a smile, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was fairly quiet mid-week but still had a fun atmosphere and there was plenty going on. Rooms spotless and no traffic noise. Appreciated little things like a Nespresso machine in the room with a range of coffee pods and really lovely toiletries in the bathroom. We had a lovely breakfast in the morning, it is quite pricey for the cooked breakfast for the portion size, but the continental breakfast has lots of choice and is good quality. Wonderful place to go for a stay, drinks or dinner.

- hughs498 (6/5): Not good restaurant experience - We went for a Sunday lunch today 29th June as a family at 3pm to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday, in dundee and we had opted for chefs table and although the quality of the food was very good there was very little there and when my son in law went back for more the room had been cleared. We ordered mains and the roast beef was offered as pink or well done, my wife ordered well done and it arrived very pink, we asked for it to be cooked extra to remove the pink and it came back cooked on the outside but still pink on the inside. I never been in any restaurant where well done is pink an bloody. We asked for it to be re cooked and it came back cooked better, however potatoes and veggies and gravy were cold. We were told veggies were kept warm under a lamp, not so. All the veggies and broccoli we were served were lukewarm at best. I had to ask for fresh gravy for my wife as the original had been left on the table whilst the beef was re cooked twice. We are extremely disappointed as we had been previously and it was so much better. It gave the impression that we were the last booking of the day and we had to have what was left over. Very disappointed and not sure if we'll go back and won't be recommending to others. I would be grateful of a response from management as to the above

The room was clean. On the negative side, the room was noisy due to neighbouring pubs and the breakfast, while decent, was not worth the price.

- 324alis (10/5): Wedding venue - Just home from my sister Elaine and now brother in law Richards’ wedding which was perfect from start to finish. Cannot complement the staff enough, Hannah orchestrated the whole day with Elaine and was on hand yesterday for any quieries. Kristina reception manager was so helpful with allocating our rooms, placing myself next to my Gran so I could be on hand to help her. I don’t know his name but the waiter at our meal and evening reception was just a star, so helpful. I believe another gentleman on hand was the front of house line manager and again his kindness and professionalism was outstanding. The food was excellent for our meal and evening buffet, all guests couldn’t compliment the food and staff more. Was such a perfect day and memory for us as a family and the staff and their attentiveness and kindness just made it even better. The Speirs/Polson family

Room was lovely with a great view of the Dundee whale, the V&A, the Discovery ship and Discovery Point. Breakfast was really good too. Very impressed and all the staff deserve a pay rise!
- ajy193 (2/5): Dinner for Two - Arrived without a booking and were accepted without any issue. Decided to eat at the bar and not the restaurant . Ordered drinks and food without any problems, champagne came and opened well. Ordered Hake and ribeye steak (no fillet left), I ordered medium rare. Food came, hake looked and tasted well, my steak however was over cooked, probably medium well. I asked for salt and pepper, and was given two grinders, however both were empty, when I returned them, waiter replied, ‘wow, what are the chances of that’. My steak was over cooked, probably nearer medium well. I informed the waiter who apologised and returned it to the kitchen, unfortunately leaving the new potatoes and pepper sauce. After around 15 minutes my replacement arrived, (after being asked if I wanted it more rare than medium rare?) It looked on the face of it over done again, but the waiter suggested it was just the light in the bar! I then asked him to give me fresh potatoes and sauce, which had a skin on, it was then his attitude went from being apologetic to passive aggressive, he said the chef had ‘signed off’ on a 20% discount, I actually asked him to take all of my meal away, and asked to speak with a duty manager, I heard him moaning at the bar area about me. He said the discount was for the full meal, I said I didn’t want a freebie, and was happy to pay for the hake and champagne which to be fair was ok. To sum up, I’m a regular customer in Malmaison Aberdeen and it’s great, Dundee however on this experience is shockingly bad.

In the morning we had to for quite a while to order breakfast abd ask staff to fill the coffee machine and the milk alternatives. Most of the staff were so friendly and chatty.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Malmaison Stay with 2 dogs excellent - First time at Malmaison with 2 small dogs. Room was a suite and only had booked a standard double room. Absolutely beautiful with bath and Jack and Jill shower facilities and sinks. Extra room to side with circular couch bed and flat screen TV . Staff very helpful. Unable to take dogs into Brasserie restaurant but are in for stairs bar and food brought to table. But more difficult at breakfast but eventually after explaining unable to up and down lift with breakfast we were allowed to sit in conference side room with dogs which was adjacent to buffet breakfast room. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay

- CJs_Squad (8/5): Interesting Hotel - Please take this review with a grain of salt, as we were in a 5 star hotel the day before. The location of the hotel is great. Right next to Discovery Point. The inside is very dark. Black and purple. Not our style at all. Our room was spacious but appointed strangely with a bath tub out in the open. Could not get the heat to settle. It was either way too hot or cold. The room could use a refresh. Since there are no outlets in the bathroom, blow drying hair was not possible since the mirror is in the bathroom. The towels were very scratchy. No conditioner or lotion in the bathroom. Hotel seemed under staffed. There was one person at the front desk and requests were about 50/50 on getting completed.

- Ann (6/5): Disappointed as had mould on shower head - We have stayed at the Malmaison in Dundee several times before and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately we were disappointed with this particular stay on 4/5/25 we were allocated room 521 -: 1-: It was a small, dark room which looked out onto the wall of the next building which is very close. 2-: The shower head had black mould on it which is totally unacceptable. 3-: The wash basin was leaking from underneath it. 4-: The heat in the room was unbearable and uncomfortable, so much so we hardly slept. The food we had was excellent as was the service from staff in the dining room and in the bar area.
- LizMoff (10/5): Great hotel in central Dundee. - Stayed here for a night. We were not disappointed! Room was very clean, well appointed and the bed was very comfy. The room was also quite spacious. The bathroom was also really nice. We could see the famous ship "Discovery" from our window. Staff were all very pleasant. Brady was efficient and extremely helpful. Breakfast was excellent! Fabulous selection and everything well presented. When we return to Dundee, then this hotel would be our choice.

A catalogue of events which I spoke to Reception Manager about who promised to investigate and get back to me by end of the day. Still heard nothing two days later. Definitely won’t be visiting Malmaison again.
