Guest Reviews
- JASON L (10/5): - Fiona was amazing. Her house is in impeccable condition. Breakfast was one of the best. The room was incredibly comfortable. We were very happy staying there!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay! - We had a lovely stay in Wicklow. Convenient location, a short drive into town. The room and bathroom was clean, modern, comfortable, and bright. Our room had a large bath and separate shower. The bed was comfortable and big. TV had lots of channels and YouTube. Lots of attention paid to the details here for maximum comfort. The breakfast was good. I didn't catch the b&b owner's name but she said she has been doing this for over 40 years and it shows. We would definitely stay here again!
- Sasha (10/5): - This property was perfect for what I needed. It was clean, quiet, comfortable, and located in the beautiful countryside, yet easy enough for me to return to Dublin the next morning for my flight out. The hostess was most welcoming, with fresh flowers, helpful information about the area, and the offer to even put some breakfast out early since I'd be leaving too soon. I really appreciated the warm hospitality, and the opportunity to spend my last night in Ireland away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but still so convenient. Thank you!
- Thuy (10/5): Visiting Wicklow - I love Glen na Smole. The location was perfect. It’s close to town and Wicklow cliff walk which was in my list to do. Super clean in the house, the neighborhood and town. I felt safe walking alone at night. Irish people are just lovely
- Michelle (10/5): - A wonderful little place so close to Wicklow town and it's best offerings. Breakfast was fab and the bathtub was a dream!
- Kerry (10/5): - Absolutely lovely guesthouse, grounds and host. Nicely decorated and great breakfast too.
- Terry (10/5): A true gem - This has to be one of the best B&Bs in Ireland. Bedroom and bathroom very spacious. Plenty of extras like a fridge, bath, coffee pod machine with a very comfortable bed make this accommodation first class. Fiona's very extensive breakfast in a sunny conservatory was the icing on the cake. Very much recommended. Thank you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely friendly B and B in Wicklow - Lovely stay - really comfortable and relaxed. No complaints at all!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The only thing that was a little odd was having to call the property to make check-in arrangements. A bit difficult when not having an Int'l cell plan. Fiona made up for that in being so friendly, made a great breakfast and helped out with travel planning. Will stay here again. Easy walk into town.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A beautiful guest house, spotlessly clean, well situated close to Wicklow town . The owner / manager could not have been more helpful even ferrying us into town in her own car. The breakfast was perfection. Will we stay again ? Definitely.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Gorgeous, comfortable place to stay with modern furnishing. Every detail thought about. I especially loved the addition of a hot water bottle! Breakfast was fab. Bread was amazing and home made. Can’t wait to stay there again.
- Eliz (10/5): - very clean and welcoming and helpful well worth it
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay. - Fab overnight stay in a lovely BnB. The room was very nice and bed comfortable. Really nice selection for breakfast. Highly recommended.
- Bernice (10/5): - Beautiful B and B, excellent location, we walked into town on the first night as it was dry and the following day. Room was large, beautiful and comfortable, we even had a coffee maker and some lovely biscuits in our room. Breakfast on both mornings was delicious and wholesome, we will definately be back again.
- Peter (10/5): - Netheid kamer services meer dan uitstekend
- Maggie (10/5): - Tranquil B&B within walking distance of Wicklow town. The accommodation felt like a haven after our first day of driving in Ireland. Owner Fíona was gracious with a subtle sense of humor. The breakfast was delicious and abundant! Would return there readily.
- Verified traveler (8/5): good location, nice breakfast - 3km from the town of Wicklow. Situated next to a great running / cycle pathway if you want to get your kms in...not scenic but nicely paved.
Nice room, comfortable, nice breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quiet and comfortable. A place where Aussies would like
Vegemite on the breakfast table.
- Pat (10/5): - Wonderful place to stay. Very comfortable room and very clean. Friendly great breakfast. Good location.
- Cara (10/5): - It was a very lovely room with an even better breakfast! Quiet and comfortable! Loved the little touches. Made me truly feel like we were home!
- Sarah (10/5): - I loved the atmosphere. Very well kept and clean! The rooms are extremely cute and the back patio was gorgeous. Wish we had warmer weather to eat out there! It was way better than being in a hotel!
- Neville (8/5): Wonderful base for attending a nearby wedding! - Not being able to make a reservation until quite late on, we were extraordinarily lucky to obtain accommodation at Glen na Smole and then find that it was just five minutes away from the venue for the Wedding Reception that we were attending. Suffering from a very delayed Ryanair flight into Dublin, we fully appreciated the warm reception given to us by Fiona; as we did the excellent breakfasts that she provided for us. To have obtained the last room for the last weekend of her 'season' and then be so welcomed, what more could we ask? Oh yes, just five minutes away from the wedding reception!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice! - Great breakfast and friendly host.
- Rincongirl (10/5): Nice Place - We liked the hotel and the town very much. We found a great pub with great music and friendly folks. visited the harbor to view the ocean and found sea glass to add to our collection!
- Marley (8/5): Nice stay in Wicklow - Enjoyed our stay in Wicklow and Glen na Smole was a great place to rest and wonderful breakfast. 2 thumbs up
- Jim and Bev (10/5): Wonderful room and terrific breakfast - Clean bright room and a full made to order breakfast. Wonderful hostess.
- Allen (10/5): Amazing B&B - Amazing B&B; clean, quiet, and great service. Breakfast was great.
- Susan (8/5): Would stay there again. - A comfortable spot to base yourself when exploring the Wicklow area. Fiona was welcoming and provided a good array at breakfast.
Our room ( no 1 ) was a very good size with an extra large ensuite that included a bath.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 15 minutes walk to town. B&b was excellent, very nice and clean room, great breakfast
- Sigrid (10/5): Toller Aufenthalt - Das Glen na Smole B&B ist ein super Ausgangspunkt um Ausflüge in die Wicklow Mountains und Umgebung zu unternehmen.
- Verified traveler (10/5): weekend in wicklow - Weekend in Wicklow area, 1 night stay while visiting some of the local sights. Good b&b, room comfortable, clean, and nicely presented. C. 1 mile walk to town centre. Breakfast menu good and very well done
- derek (10/5): great place to stay - short drive from Town, warm and friendly welcome and lovely clean and well presented room well fitted with everything you need and nice comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast, great selection and plenty to choose to keep you going all day. Very friendly and helpful host and would definitely stay here again
- Heather (10/5): Best B&B during our 7 day Ireland tour! - This was easily the best B&B we stayed at during our trip. We showed up early (without calling) and the owner went above and beyond to let us check in early. She also makes the best breakfast and coffee! Truly a wonderful addition to our Ireland country tour!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Host was snide and insulting and did not make us feel very welcome. Dirty tea cups and spoon and only 1 milker on tray as well as used bottle of shampoo left in shower. That homey feel that you usually get from a Bed and Breakfast was non-existant.
- Ana (10/5): Out of this world - I've stayed in a lot of B&Bs in my life and can't think of one that comes even close to Glen na Smole. The whole place is decorated with taste and with brilliant details, everything clean and comfortable and the location is perfect for a quiet peaceful time. Fíona is an amazing, thoughtful host and also an excellent chef and she made us feel at home.
- Richard (10/5): Great place to stay - Nice and friendly host good cook too! We enjoyed our stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed - Hostess had an attitude. Not friendly. Would not stay again.
- Jessica (10/5): A little treasure in Wicklow - We had a lovely time staying at Glen na Smole, it was my favorite B&B of our trip. Our host was lovely and accommodating giving us a few great recommendations. The room was cozy and very comfortable. The value to me was amazing as the breakfast (which was delicious) was worth the cost itself. I would recommend staying here to anyone.
- pauline (10/5): Country feel on edge of town - Good outlook over garden toward hills. No worries with this place.
- Verified traveler (10/5): My favorite Irish B&B so far! - This is a really nice B&B! The rooms are lovely, and we were offered coffee tea and cakes when we arrived. The breakfast was stupendous, with lots of yummy and unusual options, like porridge with Bailey's, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, and of course the full Irish breakfast, and others! We have stayed at a lot of places all over Ireland this trip so far, and Fiona's place is my favorite!
- Sandra (10/5): Beautiful Bed & Breakfast in a wonderful location - The bed & breakfast was easy to find and was located in a beautiful location (very quiet). The owner was very friendly and greeted us at the door.
The room was very clean and the view out the window was pretty. Breakfast was plentiful! My husband very much recommends the porridge.
- Stephen (8/5): - very friendly owner.
- Cathy (8/5): Would stay again - Excellent service. Great breakfast. Very clean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It is a 18-20 walk to The Grand Hotel where the bus stops. You can catch a bus there that goes to the Dublin International Airport.
Everything is within walking distance.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Daydreaming about the breakfast - Passed through here with my brother on two separate nights. Booked rooms with 2 beds each time. Big, comfortable beds. Plenty of space in the rooms. Very nicely decorated.
Wonderful hosts. Very friendly and accommodating. Fantastic breakfast - set the bar for my expectations for future b&bs!
Just a few minutes drive into town (or a 25 minute walk).
