Guest Reviews
- Garrett (1/5): Sleepless in Toronto for 140 bucks with 100$ deposit - The tv had lots of channels and streaming options toaster was fancy but no breakfast or bread included so dunno if it works good The least peaceful hotel I've ever stayed at the window air-conditioner that's not even plugged in let's all the noise in so I can hear everything outside like it's in my room like street car voiceovers the rain spout next to my window every car going by the street car straight up rumbles my bed and window lets in a serious draft could not get warm at all the bed side lamp with charger didn't charge my phone the standing desk isn't plugged in or even able to be plugged in the bathroom is so tiny it's hard to wipe let alone sit down no way I'm even going to try the shower the drain in bathroom floor is covered in a square cover that slides around over a round drain the sink spout isn't attached at all the bathroom hand dryer is against my wall so whenever someone washes hands it sounds like someone is vacuuming my wall people loudly talked in the hall to staff at 6 am waking me up has a fancy toaster but no bread or breakfast included even tho it says breakfast included on Google maps neighborhood is shitty and sketchy my credit card wasn't working for deposit so I had to walk 10-15 minutes to go to a sketchy atm past multiple drug dealers and junkies to take out cash to get into my room because they can't take debit payment and my fellow guests power went out and front desk seemed confused by that not sure what happened with that after I went back into my cold damp loud room to attempt to get some more sleep did I mention that my wall was literally against street car stop so everytime it stops I hear the voice over
- Mariusz (1/5): DONT STAT HERE, DONT - The worst hotel I’ve ever seen in my life and I’ve travelled 55 countries (including Asia and Africa…)
- Abdo (1/5): - I would like to make a complaint regarding my recent stay at your hotel. I paid approximately $180 per night and stayed for 3 days, but unfortunately the service was very disappointing.
During my entire stay, nobody came to clean or organize the room. Basic items such as toothbrushes and drinking water were not provided. In addition, the room door was damaged and very difficult to open and close, which caused significant inconvenience and concern during my stay.
For the amount paid, I expected a much better level of service and maintenance. I hope this issue will be taken seriously and addressed appropriately.
Sincerely,
Naseer Abdo

- Daniel (6/5): Good for a place to sleep for a night but would not be comfortable for any type of prolonged stay. - Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Convenient location. The Inn was pretty bare bones and while location was convenient it also felt sketchy. The tea selection offered was very limited and the coffee wasn't very good.

- Paula (7/5): I was very happy with my stay, would definitely stay here again! - The room was simple, cute and clean. The beds were comfier than expected. I was not disturbed by anyone else in the building. Great location in the city for where I needed to go, close to everything. Just wish there was a mini fridge in the room and there was more onsite parking, Only 3 spots when listed as on site parking. Had to walk about 5mins away to park, not too bad but still far enough away.
- Robert (5/5): - Cool history of the building! Budget place to stay, it's not a holiday inn but got the job done! Ruff neighborhood, low end accommodation.
- Kavya (5/5): -
- Samantha (1/5): Don't do it, for your safety. - This area was so sketchy and scary. Very high crime rate. I wish the reviews I read would have said more about the area. Don't stay here, it's not even that cheap compared to nice hotels closer to downtown.

- Joe (8/5): Budget, comfortable accommodation in Cabbagetown - The property was just outside the main city centre so it wasn’t cursed with a dearth of traffic or external noise. It was about a 15 minute walk from TMU subway station (and quite close to a tram stop but I didn’t use the tram to go to/from the hotel).
I liked the bold exterior, it made the building very easy to identify. The room was small but comfortable, the bed was exactly right with a good duvet and flexible pillows to help in a good nights sleep. The bathroom had been recently done up, it was nice and clean and there was plenty of room in the shower to move about and watch it oneself.
I didn’t make use of the tea or coffee in the kitchen but that was a nice addition and there’s also water coolers in the main reception area as well as the option to purchase soft drinks. Cabbagetown is a mixed bag of an area, there are some nice parts and some not quite so nice parts. If you approach the hotel from the north on Ontario Street, it’s nice. If you approach from Dundas Street, it’s not so nice.
I would have preferred that there was a safe in the room to lock away my valuables. My suitcase was lockable but for peace of mind, I do prefer to have a safe in the room. It’s also a minor gripe but my room only had one electrical socket and the air-conditioning unit and the lamp were plugged into it so one of them had to be unplugged for me to use my chargers.

- Workman (9/5): Beautiful room in Cabbagetown - It was a nicely decorated hotel. The price was right and the location was nice. We enjoyed being walking distance away from Alan Gardens Greenhouse. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. There is also coffee to enjoy in the morning.
My daughter liked windows and the paintings of raccoons in the stairwell. A lot of stairs to climb for me and my terrible knees.

- S (9/5): - Nandini was the receptionist who helped me. Although there was no lift. She offered to help me up as she felt bad for me as I had a lots of heavy bags which was really sweet of her. She made sure I had everything I needed. The heating was amazing, I was afraid I was going to be cold but I wasn’t cold one bit. The wallpapers were bit old… but I just needed somewhere to sleep and I slept very comfortably. The wallpapers need changing as they’re ripped. The area isn’t the safest at night so if you’re a girl I wouldn’t recommend walking on your own in alleyways.
- Hajar (7/5): -
- Joris (9/5): -
- Hossain (10/5): - N/A The woman who claimed to be the manager was not professional at all. I booked the room ahead of time, and it was approved that I would be checking in in the morning. However, while I was already on my way to the hotel and driving, they informed me only half an hour in advance that they did not have any rooms available.
Thirty minutes’ notice is not enough time. When I spoke to the woman at reception, who claimed to be the manager, she told me that she had just started her shift. That is not an acceptable answer from a manager. I don’t know your name, but if you are a manager, you need to learn how to do your job — it is literally in your title. Saying that you just started your shift is not a professional response.
If this were a retail store, I might have understood, but in customer service, especially in hospitality, this kind of unprofessional behavior is not expected. We waited for 5 hours in the lobby because of this situation. This reflects very poorly on your business and on how daily operations are being managed.

- Victoria (10/5): - Was easy to get to event i was attending in Toronto.
Hotel was easy to find and enjoyed stay in the hotel room I got was clean and bed was extremely comfy.
- Harvie (6/5): - Nice rooms, comfortable bed great tv reception 👍 I could hear the people beside us..too many stairs. No place to really park.
- Lunetta (7/5): Friendly staff, cheap place - The staff were friendly and there was a metro right outside the inn which was very handy! The wallpaper was stripping off at the walls and the air con didn’t seem to be working properly so we ended up turning it off entirely
- Susan (8/5): Loved the quirky vibe . Fun place not a cookie cutter hotel . Great staff and a great time . - Breakfast was good . Even kept some for a snack later Can’t think of anything.
- Emie (9/5): -
- Paul (1/5): Forgettable and expensive. Also somehow between you lot and the hotel, i ended up having to stay in an alternate locatio - Absolutely nothing. It was surrounded by drug addicts and homeless people.
- Abdulgafar (10/5): -
- Philice (10/5): Excellent - All great All perfect
- Amy (7/5): Very good price for our stay as Toronto is expensive, we enjoyed ourselves. Would stay again - Complimentary breakfast was surprising and very nice. Staff was lovely, they were very kind. Location was a bit sketchy, but can’t really control that. The bathroom was a bit moldy.
- Colin (1/5): -
- Wendy (4/5): -
- Natalia (10/5): Breakfast is delicious, coffee and tea are free - comfortable bed, had a good sleep, only woken up in the morning by a scream outside
- David (10/5): Lovely place to stay. - After being let down by another property, I arrived here at around midnight and was immediately shown to my room. The rooms were small, but had everything I needed after the very long day of travelling I’d had. Nothing.
- JuliaHerts (2/5): Emails ignored and cancellation terms not complied with - Emails ignored and booking not cancelled.
I reserved this hotel with the condition of free cancellation 24hrs before.
The booking is not until July 26. I decided the same day that I booked that I wanted to cancel. I emailed the hotel and they ignored me. When chased they said they could not cancel the booking.
I wrote back quoting the 24hr free cancellation terms on my booking form. Ive emailed them about six times now and they're ignoring me.
Ive come on here now desperate for someone from management to respond.
- ash (1/5): Don't stay here. Have some self respect. - The room was unclean. The bathroom was almost unusable. The bed was uncomfortable. Lastly the rooms ac, which was right beside the bed, stunk and was very loud.
- Rodolfo (9/5): - Breakfast Chair
- Cecil (1/5): AWFUL - we did not have any breakfast , we were so disgussted with this place that as soon as it was possible to leave , we left and went to investigate getting another Hotel, which we did. This Hotel is not up to international standard. The room was small the bath room seem to be something converted from what used to be a shower stall to accommodate , shower , toilet and basin. I am 6ft 2'' and could bearly sit on the toilet.
- micheal (9/5): - I like the reception, its really welcoming Sound of the AC its really strong and not comfortable
- Lawrence (8/5): Comfortable night at an affordable price in Toronto. - Staff were great. Queen room was comfortable, exceptionally clean, and the additions of refrigerator, microwave and basic cable TV were welcome. My only complaint was how sound travels from the corridor or adjoining rooms into your room due to the older nature of the walls and doors. To be fair, the price I paid made up for that and you do get what you pay for.
- Veronica (8/5): Very pleasant but basic, won't do better for this price. - This is the best accommodation you will find in this price range for downtown Toronto. The staff are extremely helpful. Not a lot of added amenities, but if all you need is clean and comfortable, this is tops. The coffee station could use a refresh. The dairy was curdled and sugar packets hard. Very small fix and didn't really inhibit my enjoyment overall.
- Ranny Boy (4/5): Not satisfied - Front desk was very polite Tv not working no signal
- Jizara (7/5): Worth the price - It had a decent size space for the price. The staff were also kind and generous throughout our stay It was a little bit dirty once we arrived, and crumbs were on the bed.
- Rami (7/5): -
- cheryl (3/5): location was the only good thing - Breakfast location of room, beside coffee room, very loud. Room was very very small
- Danielle (7/5): -
- Ahmad (8/5): -
- Moussa (8/5): -
- Rodolfo (8/5): - All Price
- David (1/5): Does not approaching a long time regular customer at all - The new day time manager does not communicate and is not at all approachabke and refers you to go online for better deals for extending ur stay
- sirak (1/5): -
- Lozano (10/5): - Near in the city center None
- Anwar Brhanu (5/5): Staff very poor in advertising their market, in informing clients about famous places to visit. - Bed was very bid to the small room, no wardrobe, tv not accessible, no internal phone extension numbers, always one kind of breakfast and only sugar and carbs should include proteins Only one staff was cooperative, staff not smiling, not courteous, staff behave like they were bosses. They should improve their approach towards clients.
- Skyler (1/5): -
- Selam (8/5): -
- Yannick (10/5): -
- Baker (5/5): acceptable for the price we paid - room was bigger than i expected. nice beds. the cleanliness was dreadful. There were ants everywhere.
