Guest Reviews
- William (6/5): Uncomfortable - It would have been 5 stars but the room was too cold. Way to cold
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not friendly - Lots of other places you can stay in the area. Not friendly or warm as you'd expect from a b&b. If you're a busy tourist that takes likes to advantage of the long summer days, choose a place with more flexibility. This place runs like a school dormitory.
- Gayle (10/5): - Excellent property, quiet. One option for food nearby. Excellent breakfast served.
- John (10/5): - Cozy b&b with very friendly host. Convenient location, quiet, wonderful breakfast provided. Highly recommend!
- Alice (10/5): - Le propriétaire est très gentil et répond bien à nos questions.
- Matthew (10/5): - The hosts were friendly and accommodating.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Dangerous, aggressive staff - Terrible stay. Owner was really rude. Room is very small for the price and they turn off the hot water in the evenings and after 11 am. Even when the hot water is on the setting must be very low because it was just lukewarm. It was torture to try to take shower and when we tried to communicate this they were really rude. I am surprised they are listed on Hotels.com, not professional at all! Besides the small room they also put such a tinny useless TV that is embarrassing, better not to have it. Very inflexible about arrival times, owner was verbally aggressive when we arrived “late” (meaning 9.30pm), I was scared so definitely a dangerous place to stay if travelling alone.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location. Hilda was a friendly hostess and made a wonderful breakfast. Easy to find, large parking area and a comfortable bed.
- Michael (10/5): Great central Boyne Valley location - Close to a nice hotel/restaurant for evening meal and an overall ‘easy to find’ and good location for exploring the town and beautiful region of Ireland
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Sehr gute , ruhige Lage . Freundliche Vermieter und ausgezeichnetes Frühstück. Sehr zu empfehlen !!
- Sev (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable stay. Hilda’s breakfast was delicious.
- Lesley (10/5): I would highly recommend this B&B - Very comfortable room/bed.
Host was helpful and informative regarding all of our needs and questions
The breakfast was excellent. I ate a "full Irish" and all of the ingredients were top quality, and well prepared.
- kevin (10/5): - Fantastic stay. Extremely welcoming. Great location, excellent breakfast, and a very, very comfortable bed! We’ll be back!
- Cathie (10/5): - Second visit and was as good as the first. Beds are still as comfortable, Hilda was as friendly and warm as ever. Delicious breakfast.
- John (8/5): - Very nice BnB Host very pleasant and welcoming Bedroom good Pillows on bed poor Linen well worn Breakfast average Such properties benefitting from dear hotel prices
- Stacey (10/5): Beautiful, Clean and Welcoming! - Very lovely B&B. Would highly recommend and book again for myself or a client. The owners are extremely nice and welcoming. Thank you for a fantastic stay.
- Debra (10/5): - Lovely place. Will return
- Nancy (8/5): Navan stay - Great location for seeing area. Room was very clean but was rather small. The bed was comfy. The hosts were friendly
- BillingeRoamer (10/5): Spent a few days whilst visiting Fleadh Cheoil - Great position to visit the Fleadh Cheoil in nearby Drogheda.
The proprietors gave us a quick route to the town to avoid traffic.
Good parking, friendly welcome, clean and comfortable.
Lovely property.
Couldn’t get a better breakfast.
Would definitely recommend and use again.
- John (10/5): Nice Place - Nice quiet place
- Elaine (10/5): Great stay at the Yellow House. - Lovely twin room, very clean. Powerful shower. Great breakfast. Very friendly owners. Will definitely return.
- JimandJudy (10/5): Great value 25 miles from airport - Attentive service.
Excellent breakfast.
Clean and inviting.
- Joanna (10/5): One of the best B&Bs I've ever stayed in - Lovely stay with hosts who could not have been more delightful and helpful. Highly recommended. Hoping we have an excuse to visit again.
- Mick (10/5): - Great place+service was great;could do with bigger tv in room other than that perfect
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay - Lovely B&B with a great breakfast
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Comfortable room, Hilda a welcoming host who booked us a taxi, and an excellent breakfast.
- Wallis (10/5): Ideal for visiting Trim Castle and Bru na Boinne - Beautiful modern accommodations and a gracious host. It is located at the edge of town, a plus because the town is congested, and) easy to spot from a distance, It offers free parking, and is a five minute walk to a hotel pub.The beds are very comfortable and the rooms offer all the amenities. Our host mailed a package back to the States for us which arrived after we had left.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Located near the important ancient monuments - Near to New Grange and Tara, the Yellow House is perfectly located, and Hilda was a terrific host. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast delicious. My only hesitation in giving it a perfect score is that it has a steep staircase with narrow steps, otherwise perfect!
- Brittany (10/5): - Really clean rooms, comfortable beds. Good quality.
- Hazel (10/5): - Clean comfortable accommodation with beautiful flower garden. Plenty of car parking space. Staff were friendly and very helpful.
- Rachel (10/5): Excellent - Perfect bed and breakfast.
Friendly staff.
Comfortable room and delicious breakfast. Relaxed atmosphere . Close to racecourse by taxi and or walk into Navan centre.
- David (10/5): - Stay was very good friendly owner and good location to the town
- mary (8/5): Great accommodations - Beautiful home. For whatever reason, only 1 of the 2 of us got hot water for a morning shower, though we were basically there by ourselves.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Had a lovely stay at the yellow house. - The hosts are very helpful and welcoming. Rooms are clean and tidy. We used the Yellow House as our home base for the week while we attended a wedding in Ireland. Breakfast is home cooked to your liking.
Only con would be that the walls are not like a hotel. You can hear everything. If you are a light sleeper like me it is sometimes an issue depending on other b&b guests.
Overall, I would recommend the B&B.
- KP (8/5): A warm welcome in the Boyne Valley - Warm welcome, helpful hosts, excellent breakfasts, a great location for touring the Boyne Valley archaeological and historical sites.
- Irene (8/5): Small hotel rather than a B&B - Welcomed and shown room. That was it. Not sure if there was a common room. Breakfast was very good and efficient. More like a hotel than a B&B. Must climb steep stairs to rooms.
- peter (8/5): - Good place to stay, very welcoming & comfortable, but the shower was poor, had to run around to get wet
- Mark (10/5): Perfect for area - Very nice room and great host. Breakfast was great. Very close to newgrange.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Economical B&B - This B&B was a nice and economical place to stay. The room was very clean. The only con was the carpets on the stairs were in desperate need of vacuuming. The owners were friendly and served a great breakfast.
- Katie (10/5): - Lovely stay. Very friendly staff. Beds super comfy.
- Verified traveler (6/5): 1 night for nearby wedding - We stayed here as we were attending a wedding near by, the only real fault I had with the hotel is the thin walls. I was awoken by the sound of people talking at 7:30 in the morning. As a light sleeper it ruined my rest as I couldn't sleep anymore. The breakfast was lovely and the husband and wife partnership could not be faulted.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Holiday - Excellent bed and breakfast stay . Friendly and very helpful staff. Room very comfortable and clean . Facilities excellent . Wifi worked well. Breakfast was exactly to my liking.
- Fia-Lynn (10/5): Fabulous Room & Best Breakfast in Ireland - My room was so beautiful and felt great to be in. The breakfast here was the best I had in my entire Ireland trip!! Highly recommend it!!
- Trish (10/5): Comfortable and welcoming - Hilda and Michael made us feel welcome immediately. Our room was clean and very comfy. It's in a quiet area but only a few minutes drive to town centre. Hilda cooked us a full and delicious breakfast and we particularly loved her home baked brown bread, yummy! Michael was engaging and helpful with our plans. We had booked only the one night and when we left, I became very unwell and was admitted to hospital. The following day after I was released we went back to see if Hilda had a room for one more night. She didn't hesitate to give us a room and it wasn't until the following morning, we learnt she and Michael had planned to leave for a short break that morning. I cannot thank them enough for their generosity and sincere hospitality.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location, Friendly staff - While the hotel is being expanded, it does not effect lodging. The staff is friendly, breakfast was great, beds OK, rooms good sized.
- Cabríní (8/5): Great value friendly stay - Good value @ €45 a night. Great breakfast. Tomatoes from their own greenhouse were excellent. Mushrooms seasoned exactly as I like. Stewed Rhubarb very nice. Walking distance to Ardboyne hotel for evening meals. Proprieters friendly & helpful. Extra easy to reach plug sockets would have been useful in the bedroom.
- John (6/5): A bit old school - My stay was fine. My room was clean and quite large with a double and single bed. However there was no en suite, I had to use the bathroom next door (not shared) which was a little inconvenient. My other complaint was that there was a feeling of stingieness. There was a tiny spray of water from the shower so it took me twice as long as normal, and there was only barely enough shower gel. That said the breakfast was excellent.
- Allan (8/5): Pleasant B&B - Pleasant owner, convenient location, good breakfast.
- Cookie (4/5): Yellow house - When I booked the hotel it said it was ensuite which it isn't you have to leave your room to use the bathroom! I wasn't to fused about that but it annoyed my other half who was trying to get ready for a wedding!! Bed sheets had stains on them!! But the lady who ran the place was nice and friendly and breakfast was lovely.
