CHRISTOPHER (5/5): A non smokers nightmare but jaw dropping jacuzzi bath in the room - Good location just a short taxi ride to big malls The breakfast sit down restaurant faces an army of cigarette smokers which hits you in the face as you eat breakfast and worse filters thru to the lobby and worse people smoke inside their room filling the corridor to our 1.3 m Rupees a nite executive jacuzzi room with choking cigarette smoke which ruined our stay.

Amanda J (4/5): Won't be staying again - no wifi. - The staff seemed professional and friendly. Breakfast was decent, but could be better for the cost of the hotel. We stayed here three nights total, and the wifi worked for about two hours total. We had staff in our room multiple times trying to connect the laptop and TV. My phone would connect, but required reauthorization every 5-10 minutes. The laptop couldn't connect because we couldn't get the landing page to open to put in the password to connect. The jacuzzi tub scared us quite a bit - when the jets were on, the knobs and side of the tub became electrified. Not a full shock, but you could feel the buzz...not comforting when you're sitting in water. The linens weren't a bad quality, but one of the towels we got was torn up - certainly needed replacing. We definitely won't be staying here again, and did not feel that it was worth the cost - not even close. I truly hope the best for the staff, but the facility needs a lot of work.
Daniel (4/5): An overall disappointment for the price class - The air-conditioning worked well. There was a round table with multiple chairs on the patio, where we could eat. It was nice. For one of the most expensive rooms in this hotel, you get the following: -From the bed, you have a direct line of sight to the toilet behind glass. We used a large towel on the door handle to at least give each other a bit of privacy. -We could hear everything happening in the hallway, which means they could hear us too. Privacy was poor. -We could also hear the lift 'ding' noise every time it arrived on the floor. Very clearly. Was quite annoying. -I had some trouble sleeping as the noise isolation was not great and I could very clearly hear motors outside, even though on the fifth floor. -The same goes for the shower, only very limited privacy. Direct line of sight from the door entrance. -The Jacuzzi was so dirty, we had to flush it for hours for several consecutive days just to be able to use it once. The first time we turned it on, the water was black. -The breakfast was very disappointing and after our third day of disappointment, we went to other food places to eat breakfast. -The shower did not always have warm water. Some days only cold to slightly warm water available. -The water pressure is too low to be used sometimes, especially with warm water. -The mini cooler doesn't actually cool, because they only plugged in the low power 12v fan inside. Not the cooling element. When asked, they said it was intentional and if we want cool water, we can purchase it at the reception... Really? -The power for the lamps also controls the power of the outlets. So you must keep the lamps on for your phone to charge. I simply screwed the bedside lamps off every night to be able to charge our phones while asleep. -one of the lights on the patio was hospital white and also flickering. -There were ants, despite being on the fifth floor. -Two televisions. Neither worked with the wifi on arrival. I had to set it up manually, but the menu was in Indonesian, so it was hard. After only getting it working one day, it never worked again.

Michelle (1/5): will never come back to this hotel - the location we didn’t get the room that we wanted, and staffs should have at least be thoughtful enough to give us a room that is suitable for 3 person. understandable that we checked in late, we were given a room with a transparent shower & toilet rooms and we are 3 friends who travelled together and of which 2 are muslims. it will make our stay more comfortable and if the staffs be thoughtful enough to let us know of the room condition. on the second night one of the extra pillow that we paid were taken away, and on the last day that we checked out, the staffs just left our stuffs at the lobby when she had promised that she will bring in our stuffs to keep it while we were out. overall we had a bad experience.

Nowadays, only stains everywhere: on the sink, on the walls, on the windows, etc. Slow drain shower and toilet. The pillow is one for each person.

Although, I did not ask for a lot from the staffs, staffs were friendly and ready to serve you. Room had good city view. The room was dirty. Toilet was dirty. I could see stains in the toilet. Also, there was a big hole below the AC, maybe because of AC. I stayed in room 503. Please avoid this room. I am not sure about other room. Bath towels also had holes in it. It was preety old as well. The breakfast was too local. I did not enjoy the breakfast.

Gold shops galore as well. Cafe's and Night clubs are good as well. Go visit Gens Bar. Room was nice. Bintangs in the lobby fridge 24/7 - sometimes its hard to find a Bintang in these areas. Street food markets around the corner. You'll be amazed with the food and rinks No Windows in the Room. Was a Fake one behind a curtain. Toilet/Bathroom is fully see through glass. We had a laugh with our family as we had to look away when someone was in the toilet doing their business. I didnt care about my partner lol.. Lift door closed too quick and awlays squashed you if you didnt quickly get in an hold the stay open doors button.

The staff were friendly and very helpful...did their best to rectify the many shortcomings of the infrastructure. Internet was awful - had to change rooms to get onto a floor where is was passable - but not good anywhere. The coffee shop was closed most of the time - i presume due to ramadan. Had to change rooms due to a leaking a/c unit and no hot water in the shower.

Lots of food stall at night there. 10 mins or less walk to blok m to your left from the hotel. Also lots of food stall along the way. Friendly staff. I asked to make up the room in the afternoon also they did it. Room is decent. I stay on 5th floor. Have windows and can open it. My room have sunrise view just that only got blocked by 1 building. Something smelly when shower water running. So have to smell it every time when took a shower. Sucks. Lots of stain in the toilet and on bedsheets. Even blood that can't be removed. Lelz. But I just keep quiet since I know it's already been wash. Can't smoke in the room even though I saw burned on bedsheets from past customer. So have to smoke at lounge every time you wanna smoke

howdy1909 (4/5): Not up to any standard - I stayed here for only 1 night in late june 2017, and it was really surprising that this hotel is not up to my or any standard of a good hotel. I rarely stayed at 5 stars hotel, so i dont have a high standard to begin with, but theres not much good things i can say about this hotel except for its location, which is near the mall, and rather friendly front desk service. The hotel seems dead as in u cant find anyone around, the wifi is very poor consider its location, the room is quite small and not very clean, and no window as well. For the breakfast, they sent it to my room, maybe bcs they think theres no use to cook so much food for buffet when theres only 2 or 3 occupants, but the food is quite okay. Overall, i probably wont stay here again, and will look for other hotels nearby with the same price but with better overall experience, which is too bad because this hotel actually has a lot of potential to become a great hotel if they have proper management.

However it was a let-down as there were only 2 plugs for use in charging laptop n handphones(n one has to take out the lights for that) n the worse is No WIFI in room. Cant stay for work. Lighting is not bright enough for putting on make-up. No space for toiletries above bathroom sink. Hv to pull door firmly closed as the lock didn't catch automatically.

Rayburn (10/5): Budget hotel at great location - This was a great budget hotel. There were some cosmetic issues in the hallways but the room and social areas were emaculate. The location was good and taxis were always available. I always felt safe when walking around the area. Only negations was the traffic, but that is pretty much all of Jakarta. WiFi was accessible from every room and had some decent speed. Staff does speak some English, just don't expect to have any in depth conversations with them. My only negative was the hotel bar prices seemed a bit high for the area, but that's probably true for any hotel bar.

SteveC (8/5): Hidden lounge in Mahakam - From a long time "stayer" at the Gran Mahakam, this newly built, modern hotel is ideal for the local I need. Naturally, it is NOT a 5 star experience but it is a place I recommend as "place to sleep" in relative peace. Buffet breakfeast was more than i need, but did include ALL the parts you can expect. Locals (Indonesian's on a visit to JKT) clearly use this hotel more than foreigners but that is NOT a negative. My first stay was good enough to make me question "do I really need to pay 3-5 times more to stay at Gran Mahakam?" The answer is probably not. Lounge and meeting place. 2 levels of spacious lounge and meeting space so suits a gathering of 5-8 people to meet anytime during the day. The staff I encounted (so does not sya ALL staff) were very friendly, excellent "bahasa inglis" (English) and professional. I would recommend this hotel for those who like or need location at Blok M / Mahakam without being in the middle of the hussle surrounds the neighbouring hotels of similar category nearby.
Terry (8/5): Oak Tree Urban very good choice - Very good mid range hotel in a central location. Striking modern building. Helpful and pleasant staff, but a bit disorganized. Good buffet breakfast and a la carte lunch and dinner menu. Unfortunately I had my shirt that I liked torn at the shoulder seam by the hotel laundry staff.
bali (6/5): close to all hubs - It was satisfied
Frewy (8/5): Blok M Mini - Functional small room but ok. Breakfast was fresh and eggs were cooked as I requested them. Bed was comfortable. Walking distance to all of Blok M. ATM’s close by. For just sleeping and leaving in the day this room is a budget special. Was not able to use the bar or the restaurant on the Saturday night due to private functions. I would stay again.
