Guest Reviews
- Eileen (10/5): - Riffles and Runs is a hidden gem right outside of State College, PA!! The proprietors are warm and friendly, establishing a wonderful “homey” feel, while giving you the space you may want/need (typical of a five star hotel feel). If you’re lucky enough to enjoy coffee and/or breakfast - get ready to want to move in permanently!! I’ll come back and highly recommend you make a trip to Riffles and Runs!!!!
- Sinoeun (10/5): - We stayed one night at the B and B and Connie was wonderful in welcoming us to the property and making sure we were comfortable. The property was very quaint and unique. Our room was very comfortable and clean and the shared bathroom was very clean. The breakfast was amazing and Connie was very attentive.
- Heidi (10/5): Great stay - Wonderful experience will certainly stay
Again the food was wonderful
- Greg (10/5): - The owners are very welcoming and eager to make your stay the best possible at their great old house which is very comfortable and clean. Excellent breakfasts too.

- Suzanne (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay! Absolutely charming home and owners are very kind!
- Danielle (10/5): - We stayed here after moving our daughter into her dorm at Penn State. It was convenient to get to after a long, tiring day, and our hosts were so accommodating with our arrival time. A charming, comfortable, clean, and lovely place to stay! Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area but not in a traditional hotel.
- Bradley (10/5): - This is a fantastic stay and your hosts are AWESOME!! As long as you don't mind the shared bathroom you are going to love this place!!
- Niraya (10/5): - Clean, comfortable and accommodating. We will be back.
- Michael (10/5): - I had wonderful stay when I went for a Penn State football weekend. It was so homey and Connie and Steve were such great hosts I felt like I was staying with family. The coffee tray outside the room in the morning was a great touch, and the Crème Brûlée French toast (and perfectly crispy bacon) for breakfast was out of this world! I appreciated being an easy drive from the University while away from the hustle and bustle and much more reasonably priced than anything in State College. Thanks also for the flexibility on check-in time, breakfast time, and excellent communication!
- Russell (10/5): - Very friendly inn keepers, and the breakfast was delicious.
- Doug (10/5): - This was a beautiful colonial home built in 1809 restored and decorated magnificently to a B&B. Connie and Steve are amazing hosts and Connie’s cooking and baking were all world. Absolutely loved it and Bellefonte PA is a beautiful small town 15 mins from Penn State :) Thank you again Connie and Steve. Doug and Hilary
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly inn keepers, and the breakfast was delicious.
- Carole (10/5): - Such nice people. Yummy breakfasts. Lovely home.
- Michael (10/5): Fantastic B&B - Hosts are wonderful, very welcoming and gracious. They very kindly messaged in preparation for our arrival, provided wonderful resources for our stay, and created a lovely atmosphere for the long weekend. Additional touches like coffee outside of our room in the morning and Connie’s wonderful cookies on arrival were so thoughtful! And I’m not sure I’ve ever had two more delicious breakfasts!!!
- Mike and Joan (10/5): What a fabulous place to stay! The owners are frie - What a fabulous place to stay! The owners are friendly. The rooms are cozy. The food is delicious! I would return 100 times. It was absolutely delightful!
- Caroline (10/5): - Very nice B&B and the perfect peaceful place to rest my head after a long day of moving my student into Penn State. Easy to get to from campus and they were very flexible in terms of a check-I’m time.
- Bryan C (10/5): - The hosts, Connie and Steve, did everything to make our visit very memorable. Excellent breakfast!
- Colette (10/5): - Nice hosts in a traditional BnB. Nice house and comfortable bed. Connies cooking was very good, and I really enjoyed both breakfasts and the coffee outside our door in the morning. Only note is that the bathroom is shared, but it is very clean and comfortable.
- Robert D. (10/5): Such a lovely place to say and super close to PSU - Great, clean, lovely place to say. Connie is a fabulous host!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property is wonderfully appointed but what makes the whole experience priceless is the owners customer service. Connie and Steve can't do enough for you when you stay with them. From the fresh baked chocolate cookies waiting in your room at check in to the fresh brewed coffee waiting outside out door in the morning, they made our B&B experience incredible. The owners make you feel like your part of their family. This is truly a great find .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Connie and Steven are excellent hosts. They make you feel comfortable in their B&B as soon as you arrive. It is a lovely home.
- Kim (10/5): - It was just lovely. So we’ll appointed with everything we needed. The owners go way out of their way to make this a good experience.
- Marissa (10/5): Taking hospitality to a whole new level - The food was phenomenal as was the service. Before we were even awake, there was fresh coffee waiting outside our room! Definitely would stay there again!!
- Mark (6/5): I expect more from a B&B - Food was good, they have 1 bathroom that is shared with no schedule, our bed was a full size, the bathroom wasn’t serviced each day. House was nice & owners were very nice but they need to keep bathroom serviced and get a queen bed.
- Cindy M. (10/5): We love Riffles and Runs - This was our third stay at Riffles and Runs. Each stay is superb. Connie is a fabulous host, the rooms and bathroom are extremely clean, and Connie makes a delicious breakfast. It is conveniently located near State College as well. We will definitely be back!
- Steve (10/5): Weekend Away - My wife and I stayed here just to get away from our hectic life. The owners were wonderful and welcoming. The room was nice, and everything was extremely clean. Breakfasts were amazing. We would definitely stay here again.
- Diana (10/5): Wonderful experience for football weekend! - I stayed here with a friend for a Penn State football weekend, and we had a great experience! Connie and Steve were so welcoming and friendly that we felt right at home. Everything was beautifully decorated and very clean. I was a little apprehensive about sharing a bathroom with strangers, but it was not an issue at all. Coffee and tea are served outside your door each morning, and breakfast is truly delicious. There is plenty of street parking and it is just minutes from State College - close enough to enjoy all aspects of a football gameday, but far enough that you can enjoy the peace and quiet. I hope to stay again and explore more of Bellefonte!
- Dane (10/5): Everything just right. - I liked being the only guest, since it was so quiet. The location is excellent if you are doing something in town. I was in Bellefonte for an event at the American Philatelic Centre and easily could have walked there, although I didn't.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place to stay! - The B&B owners are wonderful, helpful and very sweet. Connie's breakfast was yummy and I even got a to go breakfast at 6am because I had an early departure home! Clean, quiet and beautiful. I slept like a baby. I will be returning for another stay.
.
- John L. (10/5): Nice B&B - Very nice home and wonderful breakfast!
- Mark (10/5): A nice B&B nestled, off the beaten path - Great hosts, clean, quiet and an amazing breakfast! If you're seeking a nice place to lay your head whilst traveling the back roads of Pennsylvania, this is the place!
- Daniel (8/5): Nice B&B - Host & Hostess are nice and friendly
- Daphne (10/5): Amazing trip! - Steve and Connie could not have been more accommodating. It was a wonderful experience!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Stayed in Hayley's room. While the room was a little bit smaller, it had everything required for an average stay. The B&B owner's (Connie and Steve) were extremely nice, and every breakfast we had was wonderful (freshly made and of high quality). If I needed to stay any place near State College again, I would consider this place.
- Kevin (8/5): - Not too comfortable with the shared bathroom concept. By far that is the only complaint. Connie and Steve were wonderful hosts.
- Grace (10/5): Charming Bellefonte B&B - My husband and I stayed in Liza's Room for a Penn State football weekend. We had stayed there once before, and everything was as we remembered. Connie and Steve McCulley are great hosts who do the little extras that make guests feel special. Home-made cookies, coffee delivered to our door in the morning, and a gourmet breakfast are what you can expect at Riffles & Runs!
- Barb (10/5): Quaint B & B close to Penn State - Had a relaxing evening after a busy day at Penn State. Easy drive to and from University.
- Marcy (10/5): Exceptional B&B - We had a delightful stay. Inn keepers are exceptional nice and accomadating. We were able to select our breakfast time. The food was extraordinary! All areas were very clean, comfortable, and inviting. There was a refridgerator available to us stocked with water and soda. There was an abundance of luxury towels and toiletries availabe. The bathroom was stocked with organic products and litterally anything you could need. Coffee was delivered outside our room every morning.
- Grace (10/5): Victorian B&B in Bellefonte, PA - Our stay at Riffles and Runs was a very enjoyable one. Our hosts were both extremely friendly and very generous, right down to the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies in the evening and fresh, hot coffee delivered to our door in the morning! Both breakfasts were delicious: crème brulee French toast and Angel Puff egg casserole with hot sticky buns. The atmosphere was very relaxing, as our hosts often had piano or classical music playing in the background. We would definitely like to stay here again.
- RickSp (10/5): Charming Victorian B&B - We stayed one night at Riffles and Runs when dropping our son off at Penn State. The B& B is a lovely Victorian. The room was comfortable and our hosts were friendly and helpful. Nice to get out of State College. I am sure we will be back.
- Allison (10/5): Fabulous B&B in quaint town - Connie (the owner) is a sweetheart! She made us feel right at home. The guest rooms were once her daughters' rooms. The room we stayed in was cozy, complete with cookies on the dresser, and bed was comfortable. There is AC in the bedrooms. The Bathroom was bright and clean, with a large tub/shower. Breakfast was DELISH! My fiance and I wished we were in town for another night just to eat breakfast - haha. The ~100 year old house is beautifully renovated with lots of character. Located in Bellefonte, you can walk to restaurants; it's also only a 15 minute drive to downtown State College.
