Guest Reviews
- BALAJI (3/5): Dont stay - Pool villa Service
- Alyssa (1/5): - We booked online. When we arrived, they had no villa available
- Robyn (7/5): Worked well for us - The location close to a family event worked well for us.
The staff were responsive to any requests.
The included breakfast provided 4 choices & was fresh & tasty.
Bed was comfortable, room was spacious, shower was ok pressure & plenty of hot water.
A door from the outside pool area leads straight into the shower which is convenient. Although there was a small pool there were no extra towels provided & we kept having to ask for them.
The towels are thin & on the smaller side & the bed linen is worn in spots. No hand soap is provided, only 1 small soap pump bottle for the shower.
Generally the rooms & building are ok but you don’t feel there’s been any investment in maintenance or upgrades. The general gardens are beautiful & well maintained though.

- Sultana (6/5): Overall okay for the price - The property is in a good location with some local shops just minutes away. It’s in a quieter location away from the city centre so you could get a quiet nights sleep. Staff were very nice. You can rent motorbikes here which is convenient. Bathroom very poor condition. No ventilation and smells. Room was so dusty. They don’t change the bed sheets or towels. Just very basic cleaning done daily. Kettle provided but no tea or coffee or even a spoon. Although it says free shuttle to Ubud, it doesn’t exist. Staff speak and understand English very minimally so it’s very difficult to communicate. Pool doesn’t seem to have any filtration or cleaning system from what I have seen.
- Basia (3/5): Lokalizacja ok. Natomiast dużo uwag co do obsługi hotelu. Zdecydowanie NIE polecam. - Lokalizacja, w miare blisko centrum, super restauracja obok gdzie serwowali sniadania i mozna bylo zjesc pyszne obiady. Obsluga nie mowiaca po angielsku. Rezerwacja na 3 osoby a w apartamencie tylko 1 lozko (doplata do dostawki). Przy sniadaniu zawsze problem ze niby sa tylko 2 osoby.

- Deepak (5/5): Passable - The day we booked the villa, we noticed that the shower and jet spray in our room were not working, and the private pool was dirty. I have also taken some photos, which I will upload on their website. Also, for guests who have early morning flights, they prepare the food at night and give it to them then. - Elham (1/5): 1- they took more money for the stay and they said I had to check with booking for the discount, and for sure due bad cu - Only the staff they kind Very very very dirty
- Paterson (2/5): Very poor -
- Melven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arya (7/5): Good -
- Karl_martin (2/5): cheep but not worth the health risk - The first room they gave had an open sewer pipe had a headache within half an hour before finding it asked fot another room was downgraded with no compensation
- Areeb (9/5): Superb -
- Mehak (2/5): Its a buf Scam and overpriced for the facility. Very dirty place - It was only nice from outside, rooms were dirty. First we had a room where bathroom roof was leaky hut in request they changed it and the room was again poor. We booked the private pool room and pool was really really dirty and one the first day it didn’t even work(the jakussi part of it).
No fridge was provided either one of our friend booked a basic room and he had the fridge.
Showers were flooding when taking shower. Also shower was so old one dripping water so we even struggled to take shower. Nothing about it. We were not given basic things like hair dryer ir even iron. We asked so they provided but it was extremely hard to communicate with the staff they hardly understood english
- Surabhi (7/5): Good -
- Kareene (10/5): Highly enjoyed my luxurious villa with very helpful & friendly staff - I wanted a luxurious holiday & I got that with staying in the Luxury Villa. Big bathroom with a massive bath tub and large shower. Big secure yard with own pool was an important requirement for me travelling solo. I felt very safe staying at Villa Mandi. Very good value for money. Restaurant food was delicious with a great variety of foods & drinks on the menu. All Villa Mandi & restaurant staff were very helpful and friendly with good English. Highly recommended!
- Schödel (3/5): Even I guess the resort was once a proper and beautiful one, it is now in many aspects not worth staying there anymore - - It’s an old fashioned resort, with rice fields in the back.
The prices are reasonable on the first view The stuff hardly speaks English.
They are friendly but not very practical.
The Moskito net was way too small - so I had to find a solution by myself.
The AC was very unstable.
Several parts in the location where broken or badly maintained.
The scooter I rented from them was quite old and in a bad condition. They even couldn’t provide a proper helmet!
The breakfast was more than poor.
- Desmond (10/5): Exceptional - The staff and location are amazing Little bit more variety in food
- Laura (10/5): Thank you to all of the team for the amazing service, chats and laughs and for looking after us. We will certainly be ba - My partner Daniel and I had a wonderful stay at Samba villa. We stayed there for 4 nights and from the moment we arrived we were met with smiles and warmth from all of the staff and nothing was too much to ask for and they were happy to help with anything.
The villa, food and service we received from all staff was 5stars, and the location is great because it’s close to everything and not far from the harbour. Once you get off the boat you can easily walk there. Nothing
- Wirahadi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wirahadi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Güneş (1/5): Terrible - Nothing There was too many bugs in the room and the bed was so dirty the bathroom was so old
- Hartawan (4/5): i have been stay in accommodationw with this rate and have more convenience stay. - what i link is they have spacious garden and parking lot, so the car can easily parknear the resort. also they have restaurant facilities with fair rate of food. the foor was decent and fair the bed itself is hard, not convenience. they could replace the spring bed with more soft. the television they put it way to high. so aergonomic wasn't proper. need to find the place for table and television
- Jessica (3/5): Poor - The complex is nice with lovely gardens, and the beds are comfortable. The wifi is also good. The rooms weren't cleaned properly and were very dark. There was often bugs in the rooms too.
The pool was not able to be swum in and was very dirty and didn't look like it was properly chlorinated.
The staff were also very slow and you could tell they were speaking about you in front of you - a doctor came as my husband and I had food poisoning and the staff were laughing at us when I was bringing them to the room.
- Komang (4/5): Not recommended - I love the atmosphere, it made us relax and enjoyed our stay even though only for one night.. Swimming pool area are great and it's the best spot for my kids.. Thanks for the cleanliness of the pool area We're really disappointing from the first we made conversation on line by email and finally by WhatsApp.. There was no replay till we have got in villa mandi finally the replayed our question... It's after two days unacceptable in this kind of business... As a costumers we felt not valuable.. But we have to pay for it any way.. In the other way we did not receive any service at all... Hope you can improve the service side especially to accommodate by email or what's app..
- Wirahadi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ilias (8/5): Very good -
- Susan (8/5): Very good - The gardens No one spoke good ehglish except one girl who was not often there
- Zenvibes (5/5): Beautiful grounds, gross bathrooms. - Included breakfast was nice with a few options to choose from, the grounds were beautiful, and the wifi was pretty reliable as well. Room was spacious enough given the price range. Overall, not the worst experience possible but could have been significantly better. It was very evident that the bathroom had not been cleaned prior to our check in, at first when I checked in fairly late at night after two days of travelling I thought maybe the limestone type material of the sink was simply worn and stained, but in the morning when I looked again in the daylight I could see that it was visibly dirty. The bath tub was disgusting with grime from previous guests and it was very obvious it had not been cleaned for some time, likely a few weeks at least. I called for one of the staff to come in to clean the bath and he came in with a broom. I pointed out the grime and dirt on the side of and inside of the tub and he went to get cleaning products, but not before telling me it was probably just stained. He brought bleach and a scrub brush and with very little effort was able to easily get rid of the grime along the side of the tub, which made it even more evident that it had simply not been cleaned at all before our checking in. This was not just a little stain or even a little bit of grime, it was deeply uncomfortable and I'm not even a clean freak. It is one thing to manage expectations when you're utilizing accommodations that are budget friendly, but for it to have not been cleaned at all since the previous guests was unacceptable. It was not an exception as one of the other people in our group who had a separate room that was also a "superior" suite, had a bathroom that was visibly gross with dirt and grime due to a lack of cleaning before check in.
- Kate (1/5): Very bad and uncomfortable - Some of the staff were friendly Do not book here!!! Worst hotel experience I have ever had - and by other google reviews looks like a similar experience to others as well. The place is a SCAM
I arrived at the hotel very sick and needing to work. They advised they had over-booked and I needed to change my room after halfway through my stay (many other reviews have claimed this to happen to them as well, clearly an unethical tactic) This was not possible for me as I wasn’t feeling good and if this was the case I didn’t want to pay for the night where I wasn in the room I booked for (as if wasn’t what I had booked) they refused and tried to tell me it was an ‘upgraded’ room yet completely missing the point I did not want to change rooms cos I was sick
The staff can barely speak English and were finding it very difficult to understand me. They also clearly had no training or experience dealing with situations like this
Regardless I paid as I was sick and could not be bothered arguing. Moved into the room and it was filthy - looked like it hadn’t been cleaned ever.
After this I wanted to move out so asked the staff for a refund and said they would get their manager to discuss it with me. 3 days later the manager still had not come and was ignoring my WhatsApp messages (I could see the texts were read) and found out the manager never comes onsite. He finally got back to me on the second last day and accepted my refund but by this time it was too late and no point
On my final night there was a domestic violence dispute in the room next door keeping the entire hotel awake from 2am - 6am. It was incredibly scary and I was confused why the staff didn’t do anything - went into the lobby and another gentlemen was just as confused and concerned as me. There was crying, screaming and loud thumps coming from their room and the staff did nothing! They were trying to call their manager in the middle of the night.
- Deja (2/5): The stay was uncomfortable however the outside area was gorgeous - The outside greenery The bedrooms, and bathrooms were dirty. Bugs in the room especially red ants. Staff unorganized and unable to fully communicate.
- Jagadish (1/5): Totally not recommendable stay at Villa Mandi Ubud, Complimentary Breakfast is not provided - There was no service from Villa Mandi Ubud, and more importantly, our booking made through Booking.com was unsuccessful. However, they collected a separate payment and did not provide the rooms as booked. For 5 guests, only 2 rooms were provided with just one extra bed, causing us significant inconvenience. Nothing
- Raza (2/5): Very poor - Only staff Bad all things bad
- Hassan (7/5): Good -
- Troy (9/5): Superb - It was quiet, inexpensive, met expectations, restaurant was good. Needed a 20 min walk or cheap Grab to get to town. This was meant it was so quiet.
- Tushar (8/5): Very good - The complimentary breakfast was not sufficient.it should be improved. The location is very far away from the main city other than that it was very good The complimentary breakfast was not sufficient
- Akshay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jules (8/5): Very good -
- Kubra (4/5): Disappointing -
- Aneeta (3/5): Poor -
- Pankaj (10/5): Exceptional - Very pleasant stay delux room is very big and large bath tub
Breakfast was basic however as per price of room decent one
If you know to drive bike/car best place to stay near Ubud art market being at just 1.5km. Otherwise you can use grab for car/bike Nil
- Deborah (7/5): Overall it did give me a nice villa to stay in with very nice surroundings. - It provided privacy with lovely and well maintained gardens. I loved the pizza wood oven, the pizzas were delicious. The cleanliness of facility could be better.
The tables were not clean enough, and the pool was unclean.
- Sally (4/5): Disappointing - The restaurant here is great, I really like the food and the gardens are lovely My booked room was near the main road and the traffic noise meant I would never be able to sleep. The staff then upgraded me to a Deluxe room near the pool which was nice of them. However the whole place is run down and not clean. Money needs to be spent on this place. Stains on the bed linen, big holes in the mosquito net, toiletries of who knows what purpose, rusting kettle on a gas kompor, mismatched cups, no teaspoon, fridge dirty and needs defrosting, mould smell in the bathroom, dirty cupboards. Very disappointing.
- Midhun (1/5): At any point please dont chose this property and waste your money. - We didnt like anything about this property.
Only staff was polite. Nothing else. Please dont chose this property for your stay.
1. Rooms are not clean. Floors are sticky because of bad cleaning.
2. Beds, blankets, pillows are dirty. All have stains.
3. Bathrooms dont have lock. Anybody can rush into your bathrooms when you are bathing.
4. They didnt provide basic ameneties in the room like kettle, tea bags, sugar etc. I requested them several times to get these items.
5. Shower and facuet water pressure is low. Shower head is faulty and leaking water from all sides.
6. Bed lamps was not having bulbs. And One bedlamp cable was faulty and my wife got shock from the faulty wire and luckily escaped from big accident.
7. Bathrooms and closet it dirty.
8. Mosquito nets was dirty, and torn.
9. We chose privet pool villa. Please dont waste money in this as we can not use the pool as people will be working in the nearby rice field and you can not bath in front of them.
10. Nights will be nightmare..AC will make full sound in the night. AC Remote is not working properly. Rooms are having very dim lights. Out eyes will pain because of dim lights.
11. In the breakfast you will get only 2 small pan cake or egg. This will not be enought for 3 year kid also. We have to buy breakfast from outside or extra from there itself.
12. Main door of the room was faulty. It was hanging. We didnt close one part of door.
13. They didnt provide any carpets in the rooms. Water from the bathrooms and outside will come inside rooms and rooms will be dirty.
14. Cloronated swimming pool.
15. No cloth hangers. You have to hang the cloths here and there.
Overall rating 0 out of 5.
- Angela (10/5): Very kind staff😊 - Everything was perfect, there was many options for breakfast and the food in the restaurant was nice too, all the staff was lovely, thanks so much The tv
- Rachel (7/5): Good -
- Heena (8/5): It was a good stay - It’s a pretty property After serving the 3 of us breakfast for the 1st 2 days they refused to serve my child on the last day. We had to argue for the same as it was a part of the package so they served then.
- Padhi (8/5): Very good -
- Padhi (8/5): Very good - Ambience
- Kuldeep (6/5): Pleasant -
- Nikayil (2/5): Not a good option for the value of money - First of all it was not well maintained and clean at all. Many basic things are not available such as hair dryer, kettle, tea, coffee, hangers in cabinet etc. Location is also pretty inconvenient, to be able to get to the Ubud you will need to take a cab, roughly 4-5 km away from the centre. Pool was also dirty. Breakfast was included, but the portions are extremely small and tasteless.
- Paul (9/5): Extension to previous review - Staff at Villa Mandi made my partners birthday very special with flowers and cake (see photos). The staff went above and beyond and we thank them very much N/A
- India (7/5): Good - Great staff, very friendly and helpful! My friends room was very bright and lovely. Our villa was quite dark, even during the day. Bathroom could have been cleaner.
- Hanna (2/5): No value for money, avoid if you can - Spacey room and working AC Awful dirty bathrooms, no facilities as hair dryer, coffee maker neither iron. Stains on bedding. Breakfast included but very poor and very limited choice. Child included in reservation but no additional pillow neither towel. Swimming pool devastated: broken, sharp and loose tiles. Whole property needs to be renovated and cleaned
- Maddie (8/5): Very good -
- Jenny (8/5): Very good -
- Jeffry (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kerrie (7/5): Very pleasant & wonderful staff - Lovely gardens & location
- Aishath (7/5): Good -
- Ted (1/5): Bad service. - I didnot have even a chance to stay here because i couldnot contact them to confirm the rooms. Bad service really. I didnot have even a chance to stay here because i couldnot contact them to confirm the rooms. Bad service really.
They charge my money, it was so crasy
- Saumya (8/5): Really good option within budget - Nearness to the city centre Ac wasnt working properly and there was a language barrier because staff didnt speak English
- Krp (4/5): Disappointing -
- Farhan (1/5): Bad - There was nothing to like. It was a bad experience. There was no water in shower. Broken shower. Broken doors. Dirty towel and dirty bed. No iron. It was totally a bad decision to book this villa.
- Diane (8/5): Very good - Need transport to get to the main town. Not easy to walk
- Jennie (6/5): pleasant - We requested a room change as the air conditioning was not functioning in first Villa, Second room clean inside, older style decor yet functional, safe and lock cupboard not working thus needed to use the safe key...didn't leave valuables at villa. Pool was mirky - step very slippery to get in an out. Breakfast was pleasant every morning eating near to the farm ducks in the residence next door. Villa Mandi was pleasant and quiet serene in the gardens. Close enough to the city of UBUD for a quick motorbike ride into town for diner and not far from many of the waterfalls and tourist destinations via motorbike No air con in first villa
Pool dirty
minimal to non-English speaking front staff difficult as booking couldn't be found on our arrival - all sorted and stayed the few nights
- Dani (5/5): Would not book again unless they renovate full bathrooms. - Staff were great and I liked the greenery around the rooms. Bathroom and bedroom area not clean. Bath tub, sink and toilet all had mould and a smell.
- Muhammed (4/5): Disappointing -
- Putra (8/5): Its good, value for money - Good n value for money TV signal down verry often
- Kochhar (8/5): Very good -
- Elsie (1/5): Bad - Very bad The fact that what was advertised was not what i got when i arrived at the place was a total disrespect and inconsiserayion. Very disappointed
- Hussain (5/5): Passable - The private pool is great idea.
Room size is great.
The green plantation is great touch. Room: The bed is dirty and makes a lot of noise. Lots of flying insects and crawling animals.
Swimming pool: dirty. And a lot of chlorine. The water movement is very weak and there are many insects in it.
Breakfast: The quantity is very small.
- Bandhu (9/5): Superb -
- Raymond (8/5): Very good -
- Irene (8/5): Very good -
- Sobhy (6/5): Facilities are little, not compatible with the paid amount, swimming pool is 2x3 meters only - Staff only Insects, price, amenities
- Anna (8/5): Good value for money - Comfortable place, clean, good value for money A little too far from Ubud center
Need to pay for transport every time
- Purushothaman (6/5): Pleasant -
- Laila (3/5): Poor - Location is good. Quiet area, but still close to Ubud center. The room was super dirty. Stains on the sheets and curtains. Electricity sockets were loose and almost hanging out of the wall which was dangerous as I had my 2 year old daughter with me. Tiles in the pool loose and sharp. Again dangerous, if you travel with small kids. No pool towels provided, even when I asked an extra towel for my daughter I got a straight no. I have lived in Bali for 11 years, but this is the most filthy place I have ever stayed in.
- Guaneme (10/5): Th and for your help - Relaxing and tranquility The host it’s really gentle and kind
- Tianna (8/5): Very good -
- Reinnie (7/5): Countryside Relaxation - Very nice, quiet area in the countryside. Quick driving distance to a few restaurants and shopping in the area. Not as much traffic and not as busy as the more touristy areas so very relaxing. The property itself is nice and quaint, the decor was pretty and very Balianese. Lots of space, could comfortably fit 3 people, ideal for a small family. The kitchen and outdoor areas were nice and comfortable. The pool was a nice size and surprisingly deep which was nice and kept very cool. Nice huge bathtub/bathroom. Everything looks just as advertised, maybe slightly worn but nice. Surprisingly, even with all the nature around(trees) there weren’t many bugs and especially no mosquitoes, only the occasional ant or two in the bathroom area because I kept the window cracked open. I wouldn’t suggest bringing too much food into the room. Very quiet property even though the villas were close I couldn’t hear my neighbor. Good food selection on the menu and it was delicious. Drinks were nice and strong, they did not water them down, you get your money’s worth. Relaxing countryside feel and beautiful views surrounding the area. Relaxing and pretty ambiance. Not a 5 star hotel feel but definitely cozy especially after a long day of touring the many sites in the area. very safe, I would stay here again. Beautiful property but maybe a little more upkeep is needed. Slightly dusty in the room and little bits of trash in the grass around the pool area. Not a huge deterrent, just an observation. Private but also not. There was a fence behind the pool area where you get beautiful views of the rice fields and ducks but there are people living in the area behind there so they could see you getting into the pool and hanging out back. I wish there was a outdoor curtain or something for a bit more privacy. Their properties aren’t directly behind the villas but as soon as someone walks into the fields they can see you. Nobody bothers you but it’s nice to have a bit more privacy. For the kitchen area, the utensils aren’t kept there but I believe they will bring you those items on request. I was disappointed because I wanted the flowers in the tub but I believe that is something I may have had to request ahead of time. The included breakfast was not a wide selection of items, either omelette or pancakes with 1 tea and 1 drink. Nothing to really fill you up so you would have to purchase more items off of the menu. Overall still a nice stay, especially for the affordability.
- Kristine (2/5): Very poor - Bed was big and comfortable, hot shower and nice view from terrace. Water provided, glasses as well. Peaceful and quiet location. Good Wi-Fi and air con. 24hrs before our stay we decided to change our plans for upcoming days in Ubud. We sent 2 requests to hotel to change our booking for one day less, didn’t get any answer. When we arrived to hotel I asked the reception lady about our request and she said she doesn’t know what I am talking about. I showed her the request and she said that booking is responsible for this change, I showed her emails from booking that it says that property haven’t responded. I accepted the fact that we have to pay for extra night that we knew we won’t stay and paid full amount. We booked one room for 3 people ( my husband, me and our son that is 15 years old). As in booking it says our child stays for free, but does that mean he stays without any extra pillow or blanket or even towel ? I had to ask for extra things even tho when I booked this room I booked it for 3 persons. So even child stays for free he is a person and should get at least his own towel without asking. Or they shouldn’t offer double room for 3 people. We’re traveling thru Asia quite often and never have to ask for extra things if we book for 3 people. When they clean the room they only change the bed sheets. Towels we used 3 days the same, same as floor towels were dirty in bathroom and bathroom needs some extra cleaning as sink was very very dirty.
- Choksi (2/5): Very poor - Rooms were not clean at all. Spider webs were found on bed and back wall as well. Break fast was very average. Staff and location were the only positive. Attached a photo of the bed which was taken after several requests to clean those spider webs
- Riverflows (9/5): Lovely place to stay in the heart of Ubud - The room is spacious, clean and facilities also great. The wifi and hot water are all works. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The checked in process very smoothly and fast. Exactly what you need when you are tired and need to get rest. The garden and pool are also beautiful. Love everything about this place ! Will definitely get back ! Nothing
- Carmine (8/5): Very good - Value for money The breakfast option was limited and wifi wad very low.
