Guest Reviews
- Wilhelmus (3/5): I don’t recommend it - Nothing really. It’s old, smelly and for the nightly rate very expensive. Rooms and bathroom have mold. We had to stay because our flight got canceled. Reception staff were friendly but seemed very confused. Had to repeat things several times.
- Jose (10/5): Exceptional - Ok Ok
- Joseph (10/5): - had an incredible stay at Pousada Triboju! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and taken care of. The bungalows are spacious, beautifully designed, and offer a lot of privacy—perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the island. I especially loved the attention to detail in the room, from the comfortable bed to the jacuzzi tub, which made the experience feel even more luxurious.
The location is great—quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to Vila dos Remédios and some of the best beaches on the island. Breakfast was a highlight each morning with fresh fruit, juices, and local specialties. The staff was always friendly and helpful, offering great tips on where to go and what to do.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really enjoyed. Everything is excellent. rooms, atmosphere, hospitality of staff.
- RODRIGO (6/5): Razoavel - Razoavel.
- Gabi098765 (2/5): Do not stay at this hotel, pick a more modern choice - This was labelled as one of the best pousadas in FEN. It was not. The checkin took a very long time, and the rooms were extremely disappointing. It was old, extremely dirty and mouldy. The shower had weak water pressure and had either very cold or very hot water. It had a strong wood smell, the AC was broken (leaked a lot and was badly placed on the wall), bed sheets were stained with what we thought was blood, and so did the towels (which were yellow). They offered us to switch rooms, but the other rooms were just as bad. One of the windows did not have glass, just slats, which we found very strange. In our last night, a big chunk of wood just fell from the bathroom window and made a very loud sound. Luckily, no one was showering, but this was really scary. They did not clean it up very well and I was scared to shower without flip flops after that.
The breakfast was nice, but they did not have yoghurt for the entirety of our stay. It took ages to be prepared, about an hour at least. We could not fault the waiters, who were very nice and attentive. However, the rest of the staff at the hotel did not have a good attitude, and even questioned why I didn't complain about the AC, when I did so on the first night to the security guard. The beach kit (chairs and parasol) were really old and rusty, and one person in our party cut his finger. The pool had rusty drains which were dangerous as well. For the extremely expensive price of our stay, it was not value for money at all. It needs extensive refurbishment.
- Ronald (2/5): - The manager eas completely intransigent! Terrible service
- gleison (8/5): - we went here to celebrate my wife birthday, the staff are pousada are friendly an helpful. The pousada is in a perfect location where there is lots to do, see and eat. the infinity beach and pool was clean and beautiful.we enjoyed the hospitality and the good vibes, great weather and cleanlines of the island overal.would definitely recommend a visit and is now my second favorite caribbean island.
- Luis (10/5): - Amazing staff , really good breakfast, clean spacious
- Andrea.vrazhalska (10/5): Exceptional stay truly enjoyed - The staff is exceptional reception so helpful and friendly and breakfast and dinner waiters as well.
The bed is exceptionally comfortable the mattress is similar to heavenly bed and we enjoyed every bit of it.
The place is lush and green and creates such atmosphere of relaxation and comfort
The best place to stay in Noronha.
We felt sad to move to another hotel however unfortunately the other hotel was booked during COVID and refused to give us a refund.
We totally recommend triboju and we have stayed all over the world Internet on the island is bad but this is not an issue of the hotel which even opened VPN
- Felipe (10/5): Exceptional -
- streetmiks (2/5): HORRIBLE!! - Horrible, horrible, horrible!! Absolutely everything about this hotel was a disaster. We paid a blind fortune for what amounted to a dumpy side of the road Holiday Inn. We got suckered every step of the way.
There was construction next door, literally arms length away. The "hotel" was empty minus my family and one other person but they put us in the two rooms closest to construction. They claimed to our travel agent that they offered to upgrade us, that meant they offered us another dumpy room on the opposite side of the peanut sized pool where the noise was just as loud but we just would not see it.
The manager was Faulty Towers odd, telling my husband about his many yoga girlfriends while he hovered over his shoulder.
We made the mistake of eating a meal there as we got back late and wanted to quickly feed our kids so they could go to sleep before 5am construction started again. It literally (no exaggeration whatsoever) took 1.5 hours and we were the only 4 people there with 4 people in theory working plus who ever was or was not in the kitchen. Despite waiting 1.5 hours they still got the order wrong! We abandoned our food and left hungry.
We also abandoned the hotel and checked in to the most lovely hotel a few doors down (Pousada Morena) which somehow was less expensive.
Note we did run into someone on the island who told us she used to work at the hotel and that it was once a beautiful place, but new ownership has not put any money into maintaining it..and it shows!!
- Faberson (7/5): Good -
- Wilson (10/5): - Very cozy place, amazing rooms, very friendly staff. Exaggeratedly expensive (like everything else in Fernando de Noronha), but I don't regret having chosen it for my vacation, as it was worth it.
- Zbigniew (4/5): - Much better properties on the island for this price - so it's simply not worth it. We heard that this hotel used to be good and that's probably where the better rating comes from. But rooms and facilities are better at hotels for half the price. And for the same price you can get an amazing hotel so no point overpaying for a mediocre hotel. Service and food is the worst - clearly understaffed and unable to cope. Food is mediocre. Property is not environmentally friendly - lots of unnecessary plastic waste. No hot tub - false advertising.
- Paulo (10/5): Lugar calmo e relaxante - Tudo ótimo.
Voltaria mil vezes
- 756maxwellp (4/5): Super nice staff. Nice Bungalow rooms with poor AC, slow internet, and used top-sheets. - Many people do not care about AC, and others can do without internet for awhile...and some don't mind a top-sheet on the bed that is not cleaned between guests. If you are one of these than this is a great hotel...Super nice staff. My suite was spacious--2 bathrooms and a gigantic 'private' porch on the back with white hammocks. Great fresh fruit welcome drink and a good restaurant, all on an island that is still missing critical tourist infrastructure. The spacious porch on the back of the suite looked straight into the porch of guests in the other building...
- RobertoO271 (8/5): Good hotel - It’s not the most luxurious hotel in the island, but the warmth of the team makes you feel at home. All our requests were fully delivered, so we could just enjoy. Early wake up call everyday by neighbor cocks.
- grantr508 (8/5): Brilliant service that saved our trip - Our trip to Fernando de Noronha left us with mixed emotions. The island itself is stunningly beautiful from a distance and the beaches some of the best we have ever been to. However, once you step away from the beach, you are confronted with what can only be described as long term neglect for the development of the island. I am simply cannot understand where all the money that is paid in entry fees and passes goes. Locals advise us the money is not returned to the island and it certainly appears that way. It is angering knowing that our hard earned travel money is lining the pockets of some corrupt or incompetent politician in Recife instead of giving us a better holiday experience. The amount of rubbish lying in the streets and the the general lack of quality infrastructure (e.g. airport, sealed roads, wharf etc) defies the high costs that tourists are charged. Roads are not sealed to the beach meaning that if it rains (and it rained every day for us) a trip to the beach is a mud infested struggle that simply ruins the experience. There is nothing fun about endlessly cleaning mud from your feet, your clothes, your buggy (normal cars simply cannot make it to the beach if it rains) etc. The locals we spoke to appear to be equally frustrated and they make up for it with their exceptional service, friendliness and food quality. Fortunately, the staff at the hotel were brilliant and were a large reason were were able to leave the island feeling happy and not completely ripped off. They were always friendly and willing to met our needs. Our trip would have been a disaster with out them. The hotel facilities were perfect for our needs - clean and well presented. The food was good although overpriced for the quality which varied too much - sometimes the food was perfect and other times overcooked (e.g. our lobster dinner). I doubt that we will ever return to the island as it is overpriced compared to other travel options elsewhere in Brazil (e.g. Amazon, Pantanal) and the rest of the world. However, if we do return, we would certainly stay at Pousada Triboju again.
- Carol723 (10/5): Relaxing stay with excellent service! - Great Pousada. Very professional and nice staff. 5-star service, including restaurant. Rooms a bit small and dark (no view), and swimming pool is rather a bathtub. Relaxing environment. The beach is very near, so is the little town with restaurants. Bring your mosquito repellant! The hotel organized our diving trips. Recommended!
- Martignocca (4/5): Overrated - Our room was a luxury suite. In reality it was a two regular rooms with a door between them removed to create some sort of living room. The room was dark and noisy because of the
Our view was to a back cement block wall.
The pool is not a pool. Small and dirty not used at all by the guests. It is close to the city center but in the middle of nowhere.
The hotel staff was not supporting ( they were not informing us that the passport was needed to do the beaches permit ...). They helped us in renting a buggy old and not working properly. We only appreciated the commitment of one of them helping us in paying with credit card instead of cash it.
Breakfast is on demand And you need to order avoiding to have a lot of things that you will not eat.
Frankly speaking is not in line with the rate and the expectations.
- wolframa446 (10/5): Very nice Pousada on center of Fernando - The rooms are unique with very nice decoration, with special welcome on first day. Rooms are clean and big with an own whirlpoolarea. Very friendly staff which is helping immediately. From terasse is a nice view to the famos Rock of Feenando.
Breakfast with big variety and very well.
Belongs to the 2 best Pousadas of the Island off course not cheap.
Restaurant belongs also to the Top 3 of Fernando.
High variety of seafood but also meat. My favorite plate was thunfish see picture. Very well selection of Champagne and sparkling wine. Very nice ambiente. Terasse and inside.
Pousada very helpful even with adhoc Rental Car and Buggy Organizing.
- swrLondon (4/5): Crazy Overpriced for what was delivered - We paid around USD600 per night during the holiday season. Our room was a "Luxury Suite". In reality, it was two regular rooms that had a door between them removed to create some sort of living room. The room was incredibly, depressingly dark. It smelled of sweat covered up by incessantly burning electric incense burners. Our view was to a back cement block wall.
The pool is small, somewhat dirty, and in 5 days we saw one person enter it. It has no view at all.
I have no idea how the other reviewers can say this Pousada is gorgeous. Its located in an inland valley down the end of a muddy stree track, totally isolated.
The hotel staff and reception seemed sweet and tried to be helpful, but there is no getting around that this hotel did an incredibly poor job of informing us about the island before we went. We could not go on any nature hike as the entire island capacity was booked, you have to book months in advance. Impossible to rent a buggy for transport as they were all booked and we were forced to take overpriced taxis everywhere. This hotel should have sent us some information when we booked our stay (they claimed they usually do but somehow forgot with us).
We requested a booking to arrive on one day, but showed up to the island and the hotel had made a mistake and didn't start the booking until a day after, and then acted like they were doing us a favor by giving us the room.
The restaurant was kind of good food.
In short, the price is exorbitant compared to what was delivered, will never go back to this place or this island.
The island itself is beautiful, but generally this island is a total rip off. You pay $120 per person for tourist entrance tax, then another $100 per person to get a card to allow you to access the beaches. Of course, none of this is organized, you have to go in person to a little hut in the middle of the town square to line up to pay and get the beach card.
There are dozens of better islands to visit on the planet, with more fair prices and much better service/value basis.
- F. Costa (10/5): Nice Hotel, very friendly staff. Food super nice - The Hotel restaurant is the best of the island. The hotel facilities is very good, room is big and the staff couldn't be better, everybody makes you fell at home, very friendly. The hotel location is not super, there is no view of the beach, as some other hotel's of the island, but I recommend as a very good option.
