Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good, but could be much better. - The area, rooms and service was great, but the restaurant can be much much better. Every dish I had was extremely underwhelming and plain bad.
- Daniel (8/5): Exceptional views - Friendly staff. Exceptional views. Accommodation nice and enough space. Wildlife on doorstep. Enjoyed our stay.
- Ubelenus (8/5): 8 - Uitstekende locatie!
Schone & nette Lodges.
Goede service.
- Oliver (10/5): Aussicht, Essen, Zimmer, Serive - alles TOP!
- Carla (10/5): - This lodge is an absolute hidden gem. We loved our stay. Beautiful rooms, very clean, outdoor luxury shower was amazing. Dinner was fantastic with the firepit. Staff were lovely and friendly. Thanks so much for a great stay. Will definitely return.
- Janet (10/5): Perfection - A simply fabulous 3 night stay. Our cabin was large and so comfortable with an out door shower. The view was superb and the food was absolutely excellent. One evening the hosts created a brai for their guests which was such a great experience. We enjoyed our chats with everyone. A perfect 3 days. .
- Andrea (10/5): Erholsamer Zwischenstop - Sehr schön gelegenes Hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very typical africa experience, We loved it but could be noisy at night with wood cracking on the hut.
- stephan (10/5): far away - nice little hideaway, but it is 35 km away from the location where hotels.com shows up.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed - We stayed one night as a couple. Everything was fine (not amazing) but we did not enjoy the over prized boat cruise and were charged for more drinks than we consumed. What's more, the boat guide was very inappropriate and dangerous towards the animals during the cruise. Only recommend it if you are a tiger fisherman!
- Mike (8/5): Good scenic views and easy overnight stay. - We were heartily welcomed enjoyed the tranquillity of the place.
- Joe Schwarz (6/5): Nice place w/ disappointing restaurant staff - We stayed at Shayamoya Lodge for two nights. The lodge is nice, 4-stars by South African standards and the thatch-roof chalets are spread over the property, which gives you privacy. Unfortunately the lodge is situated not too far from Golela Road, the connection to the Swaziland border, so there is some traffic noise in the background, which limits the bush experience.
Dinner at Shayamoya restaurant was a disappointing experience. The menu had four options for main courses. The waitress returned to our table after 20 minutes to let us know that the meal option one of us picked was not available any longer. This happened again after another 20 minutes. So basically there were only two mains to “choose” from and it took way over an hour until our food arrived. Poor, slow service.
