• Victor (7/5): - Staff were very helpful, the food in the bar was great and great atmosphere, rooms were clean and accomodating, even though it was shared bathrooms they were kept very clean and tidy The loud bangs of the doors everywhere, at night they sound very loud (i believe this were the room doors and toilet doors closing very loudly)
• Nicky (10/5): - Close proximity to John Hunter hospital, basic restaurants and supermarkets. The food downstairs is great and affordable. Considering the location the room is surprisingly quiet. The photos on line are exactly what you get and check in was up until 12pm. There is very little parking on site, however you can park across the road in the shopping centre car park.

• Haoling (6/5): Overall, the room was nice, but the fire alarm and noise from neighbouring rooms disturb us. - The room is clean and tidy. The fire alarm went off at midnight, and we had to leave the hotel. The neighbours were also very loud, so we were unable to fall asleep.

• Carl (10/5): Went and saw a band at the Uni. Came home and had a couple of drinks before going to bed. Thanks. - We went to see a band at Newcastle Uni 3kms away. Was pleasantly surprised about the accommodation, upstairs has shared bathroom/showers but there are five or six individual rooms with locks. They look like they have been recently renovated. The room was in great condition and mattress and bed linen were great. Nice Bistro downstairs. All good.
• Michael (8/5): I enjoyed my stay and would book again, but the noise lets it down. - Good value for money. Great location, especially for food and groceries. Clean room and bathroom, rainfall shower, comfy bed, TV with Prime, helpful staff. Every evening was a symphony of loud banging doors up and down the corridor, painful when trying to relax or watch TV. On Thursday evening the music from the bar downstairs was so loud the room vibrated. It finished at midnight. I realise it’s an entertainment venue but still…
• Heike (6/5): Conevenient for one night. - Convenient to where we had to good and fine for a night. It was noisier than we expected but fine after midnight. Shared bathrooms were clean when we arrived but quite messy in the morning when a lot of people were having a shower. In another property there was signage in the shared bathrooms to remind people to leave it clean for the next person. This really worked and may be a good idea here too. There they also had a spray bottle with sanitiser to use after one is finished with sink etc. This helped as well.
• Ola Jörnmark (2/5): Life at stake - The hotel as such was "as you'd expect", and surprisingly clean and big (despite shared) bathrooms. Absurd: at 0100 I the night, we and all others were awakening from the fire alarm, which as such still can happen. But, no-one from the hotel was there AND the alarm was NOT connected to the fire brigade. The guys with the red cars alas only arrived after I - a guest - called the 000. There has been absolutely no feedback, despite two mails, from the hotel on this life risking behaviour. Avoid if you appreciate serious businesses.

• Kkor (6/5): Average - Clean Bathroom Room was not cleaned everyday. Water Bottles weren't placed, used cups lied in my bedroom for 3 days. Despite my asking to clear, it did not happen. I had to put all used stuff outside myself. I had to repeatedly ask for water bottles and still did not get. Then I went to reception. For water and got water in jug. Jug was ripped from the top and I got a cut on my mouth while drinking water. As there was no glass to drink.

Loved the showers , spacious and very tidy , all in all a very pleasant stay and great food downstairs . The bathroom door closures need to be adjusted as they close a little to hard and the bang wakes you up when everyone’s using them early

• Walter (9/5): My review - The room was clean. Close to Jesmond shopping mall which mean't a good variety of food. Accomodation and rooms cleaned daily. Large lcd television. Reasonably quiet. 3 shared Bathrooms which were newly renovated and modern. Very close to public transport buses. Nothing I didnt like.

• Rodney (1/5): A great hotel unfortunately ruined by one bad experience. - This is a very complex review because the hotel itself, the facilities, the staff, the location are all top notch and if I was to recommend it on those factors alone it would easily be a 10 out of 10. Yes there’s some noise from the restaurant/bar downstairs, particularly on Thursday’s, but nowhere near as much as I had expected. The fridge worked amazingly well for a bar fridge. The AC was great. The shared bathrooms were great. Unfortunately a very unsettling experience leads to it being the rating I am given. On my second night a member of staff opened my door without announcing themselves. The issue is that there are 3 doors near each other at the end of a hallway. I heard a knock that sounded like it was on another door and then my door handle began to open. This was especially alarming as there was no verbal identification like ‘management’, ‘staff’, or ‘housekeeping’, I expect to hear something like that from staff if intending to enter an occupied room. The staff member, the same person who had checked me in, said they got the wrong room and apologized but that didn’t negate the fact my door was opened by someone who didn’t announce themselves. If I hadn’t have been essentially homeless due to an illegal eviction in Queensland at the time, and not spent all the money I had renting it as long as I could, I would have left as I didn’t feel safe after that. When you spend everything on a place to stay for 29 nights, you can’t just leave and afford another hotel. So I actually feel highly conflicted leaving this review because it on a practical level, it was the nicest place I have stayed. But the experience with the unannounced entry left me feeling uncomfortable for the rest of my time there. Especially so as I experienced an illegal entry during the illegal eviction that led to my staying at the hotel and that brought up a lot of unease that I had worked hard to overcome. Unannounced entry.

• Annet (6/5): Thursday night, Uni night. - I liked the bed and the bathrooms, but... I can't believe the staff let me stay there with three kids. They said it was uni night and it was also too late for us to cancel our booking. Uni night is awesomely loud DJ set up right under our room until midnight. Admittedly beds were comfy shower was nice. I don't know how to review it. I wish them the best but I think if they see a booking with kids they should be honest about how loud the music is going to really be.
