Guest Reviews
- Massimo (5/5): -
- Patrick (2/5): You dont need t.p. or towels! - No toilet paper or towels.... super old property with the oldest comforter and pillows ive ever seen. I just wanted to get outs there.
- Roger (8/5): - Very basic hotel. Undergoing renovations but the room was clean and safe. Good tv. Air and shower good too.
- Shauna (1/5): Never Again - The only thing we liked is that you can smoke in the room. Pretty much everything else. The place is run down, they are very short staffed. They have people that live there that are loud all hours of the day and night, our hot water didn't work so we couldn't use the hot tub. We reported the hot water was not working and they claimed that it was just because a lot of people using it and that it should be getting hot again soon, yet the place wasn't even half occupied, and the water never got hot for more than a minute or two.We were supposed to stay a second night but we were so miserable we decided to check out the next morning. I explained to the manager in the morning that we were not staying another night because the hot water was not working and the way he acted was like he didn't believe me. I then asked since we were not able to use the hot tub could we at least get a discount and he stated he could not do that. We will not be returning. Very poor value and no one cares if you are comfortable.
- Samuel (1/5): I will do nightmares about this place - Nothing I will do nightmares about this place, the sheets of the bed were disgusting, yellow with cigarette holes and a lot of stains. The bath was full of dead spiders and extremely dirty. The carpet everywhere was dirty and it smelled like cigarette, it was awful. People were yelling in the parking lot at 1-3 am. It was awful!
- Elisa (2/5): - Seen roaches
- Breiholz (10/5): Exceptional - Clean rooms. Electrical outlets didn't work for cellphone recharging.
- Charles (4/5): Unexpected additional expenses... - Credit card system was down so I had to find an ATM to get cash, paid a $4 service fee to get cash, they didn't have change so they rounded up the cost of the room to the nearest dollar... So I paid more than I anticipated. Hotel old, and run down but clean. Only 1 towel. Water took almost 10min to get hot.
- Rafael (5/5): Passable -
- Liliana (10/5): - Few days ago I paid $210/night plus $50 valet parking in a “fancy” hotel in Indianapolis, what a waste of money. For $63 in American Motor Inn I got the same bed size and comfort and much better sleep. The location is safe, quiet and they have parking. The young man at the reception is kind and friendly. Great customer service. Rock Island is a very beautiful place and in few minutes drive you can visit Davenport, Iowa. We’re definitely recommend this motel and we’re planning on coming back soon. This is our new place to stay in Rock Island.
- Aaron (1/5): One of the worst I've had - I got a hot tub room an when I turned it onn the water was foul smelling an the fauset blew off water went everywhere We everything
- Tracy (1/5): Bad - I would not reccomend this to anyone Whole place of office is bad news
- Delvin (5/5): Passable -
- Tammu (3/5): I ended up not staying - Clean rooms and ok staff The outside was u kept and dirty. Key wouldn’t work and kept having to go to the front.
People in the parking lot yelling & loud music, scary
- Karen (10/5): - t was very inexpensive and like any expensive motels. (although no tissues) It was clean and full of people spending the night.
- Jasminedodd28 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alferd (5/5): Passable - The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and that's about 90% of what I look for. There was adequate wash rags and towels, and it had a microwave and a refrigerator which was nice. In all, the room was adequate and if I were going back again I would probably rebook this motel: it really wasn't all at that bad. The room was dimly lit. It was lit well enough for sleeping quarters, but if you wanted to do paperwork it would be too dark. The toilet seat wouldn't stay up. The ledge around the mirror came out too far and got in the way of the toilet seat being all the way up. There were receptacles near the nightstand by the bed which would have been perfect for charging a cell phone, but you couldn't plug anything into the receptacles.
- Talbot (10/5): This is a good place - The property and location was good
- Kitchen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Suzette (1/5): Bad - We are disappointed of the condition of the room. Took some pictures. Not very happy, Bedding are dirty, spot all over the Linens, price Okay. We won't recommend it to anyone we know.
- Kenneth (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tyson (6/5): I do feel little insecure especially around the corner between 132-116. It’s a little weird back thd - I don’t eat breakfast. I just like quaint motels like these. It’s very comfortable. And staff is outstanding. Only 1 towel @ Wash cloth. Pillows are not pillows! TV w/ DIRECT TV is not the best. Phone don’t work. These are minor. But, because I own my own TV SERVICE. I think not only will everyone appreciate it. But, they can bring their own streaming device. Check out the cost of STARLINK. It’s an internet company along with phone & Television created by ELON MUSk. My services will be an agreement be teeen us. I GUARANTEE NO ONE CAN BEAT MY SERVICE. Plus, you get ALL SPORTS PACKAGES, ALL (66) PREMIUM CHANNELS INCLUDED, and ALL PPV EVENTS. Included. I have adult channels that can easily be blocked by parents.
- Kelly (4/5): If you just need a place to lay your head for a few hours… - The best part about the entire experience was how nice the guy at the front desk was. I honestly wish I could give this location a glowing review simply because he was such a pleasure to interact with. He greeted me by name when I arrived and assured me that my family and I were safe there. He shared that he lived on the property, which DID help me feel at ease about the less than desirable location. The location is sketchy AF! The facility is run down, stains on the towels and sheets, and bugs in the bathroom. The a/c took several hours to cool the room down. For $90, I expected a little better than what we paid for (I expect the above issues from a $50/night Red Roof Inn or Motel 8, not a $100 a night establishment.) I’m assuming this property is more of a pay-by-the-week or monthly rate type of place as the other people present seemed to be in residence rather than just passing through. The guy was true to his word, my family and I made it safely through the night, as well as my car and our possessions in it, but it just wasn’t a comfortable stay, sadly. I have no doubt that the man running the place is doing the best he can with what he has and I truly wish him nothing but the best!
- Tyson (10/5): - I live motels. I’m not a hotel type person. I get the same room when I come here. They are always polite and conversate enough to make you feel comfortable. Hotels don’t, they just type, give you a receipt to sign and card for room. Most the time they take 10-15 minutes to get to you. You can come here at 1-2 am and get someone in 5-10 minutes. Great staff. Could care less if outdated. Just need Tv, clean sheets 1 towel 1 rag. If anyone person needs more. They’re either spoiled, Rude, Incidersate
- mike (10/5): - Old school Lake motel like you stayed at with your parents. Clean, comfortable, and a great location.
- Chris (8/5): Very good - Location and staff Toilet and sink, but staff assisted and worked well after
- Toni (4/5): - Felt like a criminal checking in. Had to request towels, the one we got looked like someone had previously polished black shoes with it, the other smelled terrible, mildew in corners of bathtub, took forever to get hot water in sink. Just skip this one!
- Chris (7/5): Good -
- James (10/5): - Convenient location, professional staff.
- Rheazene (1/5): Homeless shelter - Did have breakfast I didn't like my experience The room was filthy
- Octavio (4/5): Disappointing - Is not bad location The shower is not working and is 🤢🤢🤢
- Robert (6/5): - Room was ok area was sketchy
- Randy (6/5): I slept good!! - the place wasn’t as cleans as I would expect! my wife probably wouldn’t have stayed but I can put up with more than she can see above remark
- Josh (1/5): Bad - Dirty. Unfriendly.
- Andrew (4/5): - I wasn’t expecting much from this property. Just wanted a place to sleep for the night really. Still a little disappointed..
- John (10/5): Nice Place To Stay - Nice hotel for the price. Staff very friendly.
- Brady (1/5): I didn't even get my deposit back - Nothing Everything
- Elanda (10/5): - Can pay cash
- Charles (2/5): - Extremely weird experience! I arrived to learn the manager had cancelled my reservation, claiming I was lacking a number from my credit card entry performed online? Eventually, proving to him it was correct, he then said he did have a room but wanted me to use a different credit card. Fine. But there were many notes taped to the glass partition at the check-in counter, one claiming that the credit card machine was out of order and not working that day; but, lo and behold, it worked for me? But, the room had the filthiest shower curtain I've ever seen in my 40 years of working in the travel industry! Plus, only a sheet and a filthy bedspread and no blanket when it was below freezing outside? Thankfully, only one night and I survived and a noisy room heater blasted through the night hours.
- Elanda (8/5): - Fridge/Microwave
- Rebecca (6/5): - The sheet is very old, and dirty, pillow case has a hole
- Emily (4/5): Disappointing -
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- French (1/5): Worst experience ever - Nothing Everything. The man and lady there in the morning was so rude and tried to fight me. He grabbed my arm tight when I was walking to my car. It was scary and the worst experience I have ever had
- David (6/5): - It was convenient for where I wanted to be and the price was reasonable.
It was an older motel with dated decor and simple bathroom. I could hear sound from neighboring room, including a baby crying @ 4:30 in the morning. At least I could use the fan to minimize the noise from next door. There was no one at the front desk and when I rang a buzzer, a woman came who apparently spoke no english. She had to get another person to sign me in.
- Jay (7/5): Decent value for the cost. Enjoy! - I checked in quite late. Upon arrival I was told the motel was full/no vacancies. When I said that I knew I may face this issue since I was checking in very late for my reservation and asked if the clerk knew of any where that had an open room, the clerk asked if my reservation had been with them. I replied yes. He then asked for my name. When I told him he said they were still holding my room. YAY!! Overall nothing to complain about. Room was reasonably clean. Pillows were standard hotel pillows. I do wish the bed had been a bit firmer.
- Alex (1/5): The absolute worst hotel I've ever had the misfortune of being in. - I wasn't familiar with the location, just looking for a place to stop overnight on a road trip. Folks, this is NOT a good area to stop after dark. The door had no security latch or deadbolt. There was blood on the curtains. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom, no tissue, nothing but dirty towels. It was a noisy area and there was loud banging, given the flimsy lock on the door we were worried for our safety. I booked this on the road and was quoted $62/night. I thought this sounded reasonable for something with two stars. But when we arrived they tried charing us $125/night.
Good thing I had a confirmation. The man at the front desk was very friendly and chatty. In the end, the room was so disgusting and unsafe we didn't even try to dispute it or get our money back. We just left.
- Pam (6/5): Pleasant -
- Michael (1/5): terrible - nothing everything. staff treated me and my friends terrible and didn’t give me his name when we asked
- Kelly (9/5): Superb - It was convenient. Nicely made up and clean. Would stay there again. Maybe next weekend to get all stretch out.
- James (9/5): Superb - Although I was looking for something closer to downtown, the location was great for exiting town heading east
- Michael (6/5): Pleasant -
- Dionne (6/5): - Ok
- Julius (8/5): It was good. I got my money's worth and more. - I liked that the person checking me explained everything to me in a friendly and expedient manner. She and her mate also gave me good advice on getting a pizza delivered. I got there much later than I had planned.
- Kirt (7/5): Good -
- Anneliese (10/5): Loved it! - Staff was super pleasant and flexible! Perfect motel for Anime-Zing!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Poor conditions maintenance is required - Oh my while the gentleman in the office was pleasant the room was in terrible need of repairs. Walls dirty and in of paint. Holes in the drywall. Shower was something we would not and did not use. Nightstand while sturdy was stained, chipped, cracked. While there was a lock on the inside, not safety latch or peer whole in door to see who may be knocking at the door without opening it . We actually moved the table and chairs in front of it to feel more secure.
This would be a place I'd return to IF serious maintenance and updating work would be done. But for now we won't return on our next visit.
- Fred (10/5): Best time ever - It was amazing time mgt was friendly and helpful
- Benito (8/5): - It was good enough but rooms are not bad not excellent but comfy enough!.
- Romeo (8/5): - Good
- Verified traveler (4/5): - When checking in, the office smelled of urine. I asked about the neighborhood and was told it was the ghetto which was an accurate description. There was a lot of mold in the shower.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Classic motor-hotel (aka motel) w/ground level rooms for easy load in and no need for elevators. It’s seen better days but was perfectly functional w/comfortable beds, refrigerator and hot shower.
There was a minor insect problem but it had been addressed before we got there so I give credit for that. Friendly management and low rates.
- Karen (10/5): Amazing - Great stay
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Motel is out dated. Needs a lot of updating.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Look nice on the internet, but was dissatisfied with the over all looks. Old motel needs a lot of improvement.
- Robert (4/5): - Dirty room , no maid service, had to get key card recoded every day.
- Montrell (10/5): Good hotel - It was a comfortable stay clean and good service i will go again.
- Richard (2/5): NOT FIT FOR A DOG - This hotel was mistakenly booked by hotels . Com .The name is close and mistakable for the Americinn .which is a quality hotel in moline
THIS IS SUCH AN ARM PIT OF A HOTEL I WOULDN'T STAY HERE EVEN THOUGH IT WAS PRE PAID . THIS DUMP ISN’T FIT TO BE A DOG POUND LET ALONE HUMANS.At 2am I booked myself into a Clean descent hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Had the basics neede for an overnight stay, but nothing for a shower (shampoo/conditioner/bodywash). No blow dryer, no outlet in bathroom.
- KendrickTaj (4/5): - The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were spacious for the most part, but those are the only nice things I’ll choose to say about this property. There was no need for a keycard cause the door wouldn’t lock and we came back to our room the first night and the door was wide open. The property manager had me sign a loss prevention agreement so I felt anyone could come into our room and take our things and the Inn wouldn’t get in trouble even though they’re probably the ones stealing things. You won’t catch me there ever again. :)
- Charles (2/5): I wouldn’t recommend this motel - The room had a terrible smell but was clean the area looked like it was in a bad part of town the room was small.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A nice clean motel in a quiet neighborhood. No fancy stuff, but we never stick around for pools and exercise rooms anyway. I would gladly stay here again.
- Bill (4/5): Disappointing. - This motel was very overrated on hotel.com. The room was kind of small, the furnishings out-of-date,and a nearly full wall of mirror was slightly creepy. The room had an unpleasant odor. The description and pictures on hotels.com were certainly misleading. The neighborhood and clientele were sketchy.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Clean but outdated. - Seemed to be clean but super outdated. Very old style toilets with school style handle. No curtain in the bathroom but it was an adventure.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - For me it was okay a good bed to sleep on, The TV was just okay, the room was good and warm not cold. The water could have been hotter. (I like HOT showers)
- Verified traveler (6/5): - staff was hard to understand as they didn't speak English very well and what they did say was rude when we reserved a king size bed smoking room they said they didn't have one so we accepted a non-smoking room they kept saying, several times, "don't smoke in that room don't smoke in that room" as if we were ignorant. There wasn't enough shampoo and conditioner for two people and the towels did not even come full circle around my body, which is 155 lbs. I did not realize it was that kind of hotel when I booked it as I needed somewhere close to my destination point lesson learned
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet, safe, close to drug and grocery stores, one floor entering to outside
- James (6/5): You get what you pay for. - Free wi-fi only available if you were around the office area. Could no connect in my room. The bathroom in my room had a window with NO blinds, curtains or covering of any kind. Not the most comfortable place to be when using it.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was what it was.
- Amy (10/5): - Great bed, clean bathroom with hot water, nice tv. Exactly what we expected. Ask for room 37.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was ok. No bathtub. Traveled with eight year old so tub was important
- Robert (2/5): - Opened up room and just left
After the pain check in I didn't want to
But place is a dump
- Marvel (8/5): OK - good
- Jodie (8/5): - It was very inexpensive it was a basic room but clean
- Jill (8/5): Good for an overnight - If you are looking for a decent place to crash and aren’t concerned with the ambiance, it’s a very economical place to stay. The room was very clean and smelled good. The woman who ran the inn was very sweet and accommodating. It did have WiFi, which is a plus. The surrounding area isn’t great, not a lot of restaraunts etc. Again, inexpensive, no frills, but no complaints.
- Dean (6/5): A rose by any other name... - We picked this motel for it's location and general size and layout. When we entered our room, there was an unidentified odor that I personally was not fond of. I suspect that the room was originally a smoking room (they all were at one time) and the odor was a cover up measure. It actually smelled the same in the motel office. Otherwise, room was as expected, and just fine. My wife did not find the room smell offensive.
- kevin (4/5): - Hotel is not that bad but was worried about my safety
- Verified traveler (6/5): Bad day - Did not stay due to accident with car striking a deer had to return home to get another vehi
