Guest Reviews
- Red Rock (4/5): Not good - I were not impressed with the two nights we stayed at this hotel/ river suits.
The check in room is under some stairs. You walk right into an office.
Staff was nothing more than they needed to be: Not a warm welcome.
We felt that the pictures the property advertised with with does not match the reality of what you get.
- Rooms were not clean. Dust and spots
- Beds were small. Sofa bed was terrible and unusable to sleep in.
- bathroom were small and not very inviting.
The list goes on.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Was to have a kitchen, but no stove or glasses. No toaster
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Didn’t like anything it was dirty . Place stunk like mold and dirty
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location was excellent, lots of soace, separate bedroom
- Teri (8/5): Nice deck - The road to get to hotel was terrible, but the room and view of river were nice. We had elk 10 feet from our deck! Hard to find office to check in. A little pricey for area.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Bed springs coming through, filthy carpet, outdoor rugs INSIDE trying to hide carpet, tv ok, bathroom just ok, but EVERYTHING else was horrible. No parking, teenager taking care of tiny hidden office & just a waste of a lot of money. The bedroom had about a foot of room all the way around the bed!
- Mike (6/5): - When checking in a tour showing how
The TV works, explain the washer and dryer, how to open the window in the kitchen. The front door should have a screen for air. The air conditioner in the bedroom is under powered. It can not cool the complete unit. The renter should not have to waste time figuring how things work.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location and the view were wonderful!!! There was a lack of parking, and I had to back in to a lane beside the cabins, which was awkward. There was even a No Parking sign, but was told to park there. The hide a bed was very uncomfortable, and I had to ask for sheets for it. There was no toaster, dishwasher detergent, or dishtowels. We managed without, but would have appreciated them. Overall, it was a wonderful stay!!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The office was very hard to find. Directions not clear. And the bed was NOT a queen as advertised. Disappointing.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location but cabin was dated. - The cabin we were in does face the river and is central to the area with shops and restaurants close by. You can walk everywhere. Our cabin was dated, cluttered and worn looking. Service was fine. You couldn’t sit on the deck because of all the bugs on the river bank in the evenings. Found dirty items when we used the pullout.
- Alannah (10/5): Cabin on the river - Sitting on the deck of our riverside cabin overlooking the Gardiner River was a real treat. Located about 100 meters from our front door was the Bar and Grill restaurant. Great meals excellent views and friendly staff. Best of all we did not have to uber home. The cabins were well appointed if somewhat short on kitchen appliances.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nicely located near main strip.
Excellent scenery.
Bathroom, unfortunately was way too small for even 2 people, let alone 3, and lighting could have been better. Minimal plugs and placement of furniture was off. Hard to see the television.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved the river view! It was a great place to stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The view of the river is amazing. Very peaceful. Most of the property was clean but there were not sheets for the roll away bed and the dishes, etc were not put away. Other than that, this property is a great place to stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great location (proximity to Yellow stone) and walking to the restaurants and shops in Gardiner, MT but we were put in a lower level unit with only one outside chair so hanging out outside was not an option to enjoy the evening after a day of driving in Yellowstone
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Had a very hard time locating office. No address was visible. Office is in different location from cabin. I was worried about reservation when we Were driving around as area kind of run down; but it turned out fine, cabin very nice, above river, even washer an dryer; also, staff was very nice
- AmericanTejano (6/5): - Excellent view of Yellowstone River on Cabin #1 patio. Superior kitchen facilities. Good nostalgic displays on walls and cabinets.
Custer’s last stand painting is unnecessary. There’s a hole in the bathroom next to a cleaning room. Placed a tissue.
The outdoor patio is cool and pleasant. Easy access to door. Rude staff on restaurant next door. It’s more of a bar than anything else.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We stayed in a cabin. For the price we paid, i expected something better at least expected it in the better area. it looks old from outside and the area is a little ,Inside it looks nice and clean, this cabin has everything you need ( full kitchen and laundry)., owner is very nice and friendly, he let us to check in early.
- Alan (10/5): Great place to stay! - It was amazing. The room was so comfortable!
- MELINDA (6/5): - Picture of room different than what we had.Deck was nice. Tiny shower.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location just by the North Yellowstone entrance. The cabins are spacious and clean abd the staff were very nice. The only thing to note is that check-in is only available for a short window (4 pm until 830 pm).
- Michael (8/5): - loved the river! great place to stay if touring Yellowstone Park.
- James (6/5): - Nice location on the river, but parking lot is loose gravel and you can’t park near your unit. You have to carry your bags to your cabin, can’t pull thru rocks. Seems like there was only parking for 4 cars and there were at least 6 units. We had to ask for clean towels and garbage removal one of our 2 days.
- jtpdx (10/5): - The atmosphere and location of this rental were excellent, very western, and near a fabulous river-side restaurant/beer place. It was cozy, not luxurious by any means, but nice, well-kept, and pleasant. The reception staff were professional and friendly. Excellent value.
- Jim (8/5): - Really a nice spot for going in and out of Yellowstone. Comfortable and a great spot on the river.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Over charged. Won't answer phone.
Travel company tried won't answer their calls either.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - kitchen with no toaster..shower curtain did not keep water in shower due to wonky showerhead. no hairdryer. I had to ask for one and was given a wallmounted one in a box! They said they come in daily to remove trash and redresh towels but they didnt. Parking was an issue. place was extremely hot inside..had to run window airconditioner unit in bedroom all night to stay cool
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Couldn't get a response for more than a month on changing the reservation contacting the property directly and through Orbitz customer service.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Avoid - Don’t stay in Gardiner no matter what. Not safe, not clean, not what you should be getting for the price
- Babs (10/5): - The only thing wrong was the heater didn't work. They did provide a space heater.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice view of Yellowstone river, close to north entrance of park. Cabin is new and clean.
- Steven (8/5): For 3 nights - A very pleasant surprise at the end of the lumpy driveway. Follow directions to the main office and they will show you where to park. Don't use the address of your cabin or you will feel lost, as we did. Turned out to be a gem on the river! And the restaurant right next door may look odd, but we were served 2 amazing dinners there. It is associated with the motel/cabins.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - They advertise as suites but we had a room with couch in poor condition, bed, bathroom sink, and kitchen all in the same room. The toilet and shower had a separate room. The shower was incredibly small for a 5'2 person and I am not heavy. The sink in the 1 room had NO light over it so anything other than washing your hands it was hard to see. They should put a light over the mirror and anchor it so it doesn't pull off when you are trying to open it's door.
- Margaret (2/5): - No phone in the room, no toaster, nothing to cook on except a microwave. On checkout day we left the room to buy something at the store at 8;30 A.M. AND CAME BACK AROUNG 9;39 to find someone in the room. Checkout is 10:00. I went in the room and our new coolers were gone, me mothers medication thrown out with other items. I asked for our coolers and followed the cleaner where they were and some guy said how are you and I said pissed and he said why. I told him about this and he said their foreiners and they don't understand. Well someone told him to go in there. Also one of our gatorades was missing and the cleaner was the one to go find it up in the office. Glad our food hadn't been thrown out. Very poor way to treat people. Also when we booked we didn't know to get to the cabins it was all rocks. My mother is 91 and handicapped so she couldn't walk on the rocks. We asked to be changed to a different room and they did, but offered no difference in price. Very disgusted with the way things were handled. Will never use this place again or tell any of our friends to stay there.
- Natalie (4/5): - View of the conico station and way over priced. Don’t book this!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice location away from touristy area
- Pat (10/5): - Location was great- great view of the river. Had a great time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Yellowstone stop. - Great stay. The suite was in great shape and well taken care of. The flies from the river kept us off the deck with a great view in the evenings. They should be gone soon.we had a great two days exploring Yellowstone and a great place to spend the nights.
- Jo (6/5): close to yellowstone - We picked this cabin since it was on the river and very close to the entrance to Yellowstone. It worked fine for us as we spent almost all of our time in the park. Pros- on the river, close to restaurants and shops; keyless entry (you enter a code to unlock) Cons- mattress needs to be replaced; tiny bathroom; curtains don't fully cover windows in bedroom and no curtains in kitchen/living area; parking was difficult to find (only 3 spaces for the river cabins which were full both nights we returned)
- Suzi (10/5): On the river - Very nice view of river. Spacious and enjoyed the river view . The nearby saloon had great food and cool atmosphere. Would stay here again. Only tip to owner is to install a toilet paper holder in bathroom.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Right on the river. - Check in is the Yellowstone Condo Suites - in front of the Property. Very small bathrooms with the sink outside. Very romantic and cute units.
- Mike (6/5): River view cabin - Rustic decor, very small bathroom, very comfortable bed, inoperable windows. Overall good and poor qualities. Adequate for a couple but any more than 2 would be tough.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The cabin was much smaller than we expected. For three people it was very close quarters.
The people were really friendly and tried to fix some problems that we had.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - During the stay, we had a car trouble and needed to extend the stay. They kindly accepted the extension and let us stay until afternoon. Since we were with baby, so we were very happy that they let us stay longer.
- Verified traveler (6/5): River view but - On the river but right across from a gas station. Restaurants, etc Is an easy walk
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing view - Great location at the north entrance to Yellowstone. We liked the view and the fact that we could walk to restaurants.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place right on the river with our own private - Quiet and clean. Comfortable bed and cozy atmosphere.
- Roberta (8/5): Accommodating Stay with Unfortunate Occurrences - We flew into Idaho Falls with the intent of driving through Yellowstone on our way to Gardiner for our 2 night stay. Due to weather and falling rocks earlier that day, the open road through Yellowstone was closed (the other route through Yellowstone was closed due to construction that was clearly communicated by the NPS). Thus, I called Yellowstone Condos and Suites to find out what to do given we were going to be later than the 8:30pm check in deadline (we had to drive around the north side of the park through Bozeman and then south to Gardiner - resulting in an extra few hours of travel time on snowy and somewhat slick roads). I left a message and didn't hear back until nearly 8:30, so I was a bit concerned that we weren't going to have a place to stay upon arrival. However, we received a call and instructions on where to go and how to access our room.
The place was clean and sufficient (nothing fancy, but nice enough) with a king size bed, full refrigerator and gas stove (we were in Cabin #1) with a great little deck overlooking the Yellowstone River.
Unfortunately for all the businesses in town, the electricity went out that night and the following morning. It resulted in all the restaurants being closed, gas stations with useless pumps, and the grocery store without any way to take payment other than cash. Luckily, we had cash and could buy some food for breakfast and matches to light the stove top!
While we had some unfortunate events, our stay was good.
- karen (10/5): A very nice hotel on the way to Glacier NP - This is a new, clean, comfortable hotel. Good coffee. Breakfast. Reasonable price.
- Alan (6/5): Good hotel a little hard to find - Hotel and amenities are as advertised Cabins/Rooms a bit far away from the main structure have a harder time getting Wi-Fi. Room was clean and fresh towels provided daily. Had to leave a note so food left in refrigerator was not thrown away each day. Hotel is in good proximity to the Yellowstone national park north entrance
- Jack (10/5): Close to Yellowstone park. - Won't be your 5 star hotel but comfortable and next to the river with good views. Easy to walk around Gardiner, MT. Within 1-2 blocks of the north entrance of Yellowstone park, excellent location. Expensive but what isn't at Gardiner?
- Ralf (8/5): Right on Yellowstone river. - This was a river cabin that has been made into 2 cabins so it was a little cramped.
- Shannon (10/5): Great place for a honeymooners or anyone else. - Great location on the river. Only things that need improvements is outlets near the bathroom sink for curling irons and blow dryers. Had to do that at the kitchen sink. That and place the tv over the fake fireplace. Nice room, comfy king size bed and good pillows. Nice kitchen and deck over looking the beautiful river and mountain landscape.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Over rated - Location was not great. Air conditioning was not good, only for one room. Whole town was not great.
- Jim (8/5): Great view of Yellowstone river - This room gave great views of the Yellowstone river and mountains beyond. After spending our days in Yellowstone Park hiking it was wonderful to get back to the room, kick back on the deck and listen to the river rush by as the rafters make their way down river. There are several restaurants within walking distance which was a nice perk.
- Mary Jo (10/5): Yellowstone River Suites - We really enjoyed staying at the Yellowstone River Suites. Full kitchen and clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the patio. It is right on the river and we could sit out and listen to the river and eat and drink as the river runs by. Staff was helpful and the owner stopped by to say Hi.
- Lisa (4/5): Functional Experience - I liked the deck and the place was clean. I paid $300 per night in peak season which is not bad except for a couple things: 1. It's next to the Iron Fist (or something like that) - a restaurant that has shouting drunks until 2:00 am. 2. There are no outlets by the bathroom sink which is in the bedroom so no hairdryer or curling iron or electric toothbrush can be handily plugged in. 3.). People parked in our parking space - probably from the restaurant. On the other hand, we were close to Yellowstone, had wifi and a nice TV.
I would not go there and would opt for using a camper.
- Tamara (10/5): Gorgeous views - Nice cabin in the river with a patio overlooking it and minutes from Yellowstone National park.
- Dennis (6/5): Nice cabin on the Yellowstone river. - Good accommodations. Wish the maid service had been better.
- Miriam (6/5): Did not live up to its pictures. - Plywood. Everything seemed to be made of plywood. It's on the river, which would be nice if we spent time on the deck overlooking it. The cabin is down an ally and we had to trudge through rather deep gravel to get there. There was a full kitchen, but no closet and no tissues. Just felt like a cabin that guys would like to party in.
- BJ (6/5): Good location. A pleasant town near to Yellowstone - Ideally situated overlooking the river near the North entrance to Yellowstone, in a town with plenty of facilities, shops launderette, bars and restaurants etc.
- Andrew (8/5): Good location from which to visit Yellowstone - This apartment was brand new and had everything we needed. The owner lives next door and never intruded but was always available and helpful. He even went out and bought a tea pot for the unit when my wife mentioned it. The location is stunning. We had two elk on our doorstep one morning
- Betty (10/5): Wow! What a view. - Right over the river. Comfortable and everything we wanted
- Verified traveler (4/5): Decent hotel but needs to be cleaned more - Cabin was ok , I feel like they didn't clean the couch in the living room, door doesn't lock right away after you close it , you have to wait like 3-5 min to make sure it's lock and that's total inconvenience. When we were inside the cabin after a long exhausting day at Yellowstone , we were not sure if the door was locked so we're putting chairs and luggages against the door to make sure we would know if someone try to open the door and that affects my sleep .
- D and G (8/5): Excellent location - The suite was clean and looked as if it had been recently renovated. Wish the weather had been warmer so we could have enjoyed sitting out on the nice sized deck that gives you a stunning view of the Yellowstone River. The suite was within walking distance of many restaurants and was just a couple blocks from the north entrance of Yellowstone. Two suggestions would be to provide a few more basic kitchen supplies e.g. wine opener, a couple wine glasses, potato peeler. Also, the plywood above the air conditioning unit in the bedroom was not cut straight and so there was a gap on one side that let in outside air and noticeably rattled at times. All in all it was a great place to stay and we would go back again!
- frequent travel (2/5): Avoid this hotel! - I've stayed in hundreds of hotels and this is the worst bed I have ever slept in.
It seemed to be a large piece of foam.
Don't believe the photos, the room is in an alley.
Tried to check out after one night but they wouldnt refund our money.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice people but photos do not reflect the actual cabins
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice cottage overlooking the river. - The cottage overlooks the river and is about 2 blocks from the entrance to Yellowstone National Park's North entrance.
Located near many nice restaurants and bars.
- Gary (4/5): The mattresses in our cabin were unacceptable - We rented a cabin with two bedrooms for the two of us. Of the four beds in the two rooms, only one mattress was good enough to sleep on and it was barely OK at that. We are OK with the rustic nature of the cabin but the light bulbs were burned out so it was dark. We lost Internet our last night.
For $300/night, you would think they could afford mattresses where you didn't feel the individual springs as you lay there.
- carlos (10/5): - Nice place, nice little town people very friendly love the cabin enough space fory my family.
- Emily (8/5): Right on the river - This cabin was very nice. My mom, aunt, and I stayed two nights. It was clean, plenty of space, and right on the Yellowstone River. It is right in the middle of town which I was not expecting. You do check in at a different location but they give you the information when they send the confirmation e-mail. It was very easy to find and near several restaurants and shopping. The north entrance to Yellowstone was just down the road. The only real issue I had (which wasn't really that big of an issue) was we were told housekeeping would be coming by to clean while we were there and no one came. Other than that this was a great place to stay. Very relaxing by the river!
- lu (10/5): great place to stay! - It is very close to north entrance . Convenient little town, has great pizza place, gas station, grocery store, everything you will need for a vacation home. Nice cabin, quiet, clean, equipment work well, beautiful view of the river! we had great time !
- Joy (10/5): Great place to stay in Gardiner, Mt. - Love these cabins. This is the second time we have stayed in them. Love the easy access to Yellowstone and the quaint town. Have stayed both winter and summer in these cabins and will be back again. Have stayed in both Cabin #1 and Cabin #2. Highly recommend these cabins.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect day at the end of a long day. - We had a long day's drive up through Yellowstone National Park and or tired and ready for some rest. We were able to cook dinner, and relax in a quiet comfortable home. It was great.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Roomy cabin in dumpy town - Roomy inside - two bedrooms with washer/dryer in large bathroom. This is "on the river" but has no river access. Because it's on the river, there are a lot of bugs outside. Gardiner is not your typical tourist town; it's a dump right outside of Yellowstone. Good location and will work if West Yellowstone is full. Place is hard to find because you have to check in at the Yellowstone Victorian Inn.
