• Leigh (8/5): Brilliant, loved it. Would totally go back if we could. - Great motel in a good location. Private/quiet enough and easy to get to and from. The staff were awesome, very helpful for all of our needs. The views from the seaside units are great. We enjoyed seeing a Hornbill, several crabs and some mudskippers. We did have a few crawly critters in the room. You could see there had been an attempt to block them out. I did inform the staff and am sure they will address this for future visitors.

• Sightsee61338229237 (4/5): Not recommend for transit to ferry - We arrived with each of us with a big and a small backpack. First we had to take off our shoes to enter the reception. The hotel seemed not to have much guests but we were given a room in the second floor and there is no elevator. We had booked only one night to get the ferry at 7:30 am. Therefore we asked at the reception if Grab would be available early in the morning and as we could get no answer, we asked for a phone number for calling a taxi but received the reply that she does not know any number. In the morning no Grab was available and from three taxi numbers we found with Google, one replied that it was too far and the others did not pick up the phone. We had to walk with all our luggage about 30 minutes to the Jetty. Poor service, bad location for taking an early ferry. Room was very clean and spacious but air condition blasting directly to the bed and to cover yourself in the bed there is only the heavy bed day cover that we doubted to be washed after every guest, so we were happy to have brought our own sleeping bag. There is a list with rules including that not married couples and alcohol is not allowed. If you search for a hotel to get the ferry, better book one more far away from Jetty but closer to the Center of Kuah, so that you will be able to take a taxi.

• RoadtrippersAsia (6/5): Clean Budget Hotel - The Penarak Bamboo Beach Motel is located about 5 minutes drive from Kuah Town and the Kuah Jetty. The place is a little isolated and should only consider staying here if you are renting a car. I just needed a place to sleep and this place only cost RM 50 so why not. Room is basic - not too bad for a person. Bathroom does come with toiletries - shampoo and soap. Parking is plentiful and hotel is well kept. Only comment is the lobby is not open 24 hours and I wanted to check out early but it was not opened - so I just slipped my key under the main door.

• Jean-Jacques (8/5): Séjour mitigé dans cet hôtel de gamme moyenne - The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room has a large bed with a quality mattress, abundant hot water with a high flow, coffee offered every day with two glasses of water. There is a nice view of the lagoon with a small perch village in the middle of the sea and some boats anchored next door. The bad points of this hotel: I stayed 7 days in this one near the pool in the overwater part. A very strong smell of tidal enough disgusting impregnated my room at low tide. The air condition broke down every day and I stayed two days in this one. I had only 6 hours of wifi on 7 days which forced me to check my computer at the reception of the hotel. Sometimes very noisy children bathed while dressed in the pool which is not very hygienic for customers who bathe in a swimsuit. Lots of cigarette butts around the pool near the tables and chairs. No TV channel was working properly. The city is about 3/4 kilometers from the hotel. It is therefore better to motorize to get to the restaurant. Despite all these inconvients I like this hotel and this city very nice and clean.

Pool ok, men lå på en parkeringsplads og var uden liggestole eller nogen form for skygge, så var i realiteten ikke brugbar. Der var heller ingen brugbar strand. Værst af alt var at man ikke kunne få mad på stedet eller i miles afstand. Man skal derfor leje bil, hvis man vil bo der.

We just leave a thing and going back again to work.as we work at langkawi.after , we see the balance cigartes not been clean up and the floor not be mopped as they use tiles and clear see a lot of hair, also in the bathroom.we call reception about the matter and they said`i dont know , i work as evening shift.'not late around 8pm.we just ignore as we stay 1 night for rest our mind.we just ignore.when check out, we meet the same person we check in.we just give a complaint about the cleanliness.the rude reception again said'why dont call yesterday after check in`. • Umar (6/5): Good place but need improvement. - Stayed in standard room for 4D3N in Nov 2017. 1. The terrace room was quite new and spacious for its price. (RM79/night). 2. The free in-room wifi didn't work most of the time. 3. Bath water heater didn't work well. Only slightly lukewarm water at max setting. Water pressure was good. 4. No room cleaning service during the whole 4D3N stay. 5. This place is sea-fronted but no "beach". 6. Swimming pool is small size but clean. 7. This place is quite spacious. Not crammed like places at Cenang Beach. I am able to park my car near my room. Plenty of parking space.

Pros Friendly and helpful staff Moped hire from motel Views from the water rooms are great Small balcony to enjoy the views Close to city centre Kettle in the room with coffee Cons Rooms are very basic and not worth the price they are charged at Rooms without a view are little stuffy boxes Full of mosquitos Very noisy We could not swim in the pool without being starred - we felt very uncomfortable as westerners here The moped was falling apart, one mirror, broken seat etc There are no eating places around accommodation You do need transport The only reason we stayed was due to the fact that we got a reduced room rate because we had no hot water.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel and view. - It feels so hot at nights since the air condition didnt work in my room. But still, it was one of my greatest experience. Worth my money (80/night) for 3 nights.
• hellooholly (4/5): Just ok. - This is a far flung location with only a night seafood restaurant on site for dinner, so only stay here if you've hired a car, as there's no other food or services available other than than the pricey seafood restaurant, a drinks fridge at reception, and local eateries which deliver. We were always stranded for breakfast unless we paid for a pricey local taxi. During working hours Uber drivers were usually unavailable in the area. The owner / manager was friendly and helpful, the other staff were disengaged and not inclined to be helpful (receptionist told us no laundry services available, the manager said yes when we asked again). Room was only cleaned on request, and was constantly overrun with tiny ants. Good aircon and comfortable bedding. Wifi went some days with almost non existent internet supply. The pool was clean but small and uninspiring. There is no shade to sit under. The beach is very ordinary, not clean, and unappealing. For the price we really wish we stayed at Cenang beach instead, especially given what we spent on taxis every day. It is 25myr to Cenang beach, 5-8myr to Langkawi Parade mall and the local shopping area.

• HIROKI (6/5): 網戸が欲しかったです（笑） - 1/30〜2/5まで妻と5歳の子供と宿泊しました。スタッフの感じもよく、レンタカーの手配や、最終日のタクシーの手配も迅速に行われ快適、ただ部屋の窓に暗いフィルムが貼られてるため、ドアを開けるか、窓を開けるかしなければ南の島のお日様が部屋にはいってきません。しかし網戸がないのでドアや窓を開けると蚊がはいってくるので、ちょっとストレスですね。我が家は東南アジアトリップに慣れてるため、ワンプッシュ蚊取りスプレーを持参しドアを開ける前や寝る前にワンプッシュしてました。そのお陰か蚊には刺されずです。あと5:30にはナシードが聴こえて異国情緒たっぷりの宿だと思います。 お湯もちゃんとでます（笑）
• Felicia (8/5): Helt okej för det priset - Vi bodde här två nätter och poolen är helt okej för en förmiddag men annars är läget ganska dåligt, långt ifrån restauranger och centrum. Man behöver ha bil eller moped för att ta sig runt. 30 min till Cenang beach 35RM enkel väg. Vi hyrde moped en dag för 35RM och körde norrut till Tanjung Rhu Beach som va väldigt fin och ödslig. Fiskrestaurangen brevis hotellet var toppen!
• 397junet (6/5): Good location, no room service - Advantage:Located near a peaceful fishing village, 5 min drive to Kuah town. Stayed for 3 nights in the sea view room. Disadvantages :No toiletries were provided, owner claimed that run out of stock. No room service. Quite pricey for the room they provided. Doors are broke down, although it's a quite new motel.
• shang (8/5): Good location hotel and nice to stay. - I booked the hotel with 2 king size bed but only get 1 king & 1 queen size bed, checked with them they said all the room sold out already. Hotel did not inform that I can get the drinking water near the housekeeping area, I only realized on the last night stay. I had spend a lot of time and some $ to buy the drinking water. Room service request need to follow up. One think need to highlight is the cupboard in the room is very light, easy to move. It was fall downed when my daughter opened the whole drawer at the bottom part. Is a bit dangerous for small kid.

• MarkG651 (6/5): Bit different for us - We stayed here for 1 night after initially booking for 3. Hotel itself is close to where the ferry docks but just wrong side of the island. Staff were very nice and helpful. We just wanted a bit more livelier place. They upgraded us to newer room overlooking the water and was comfortable. No safe in the room plus few smaller things like no toilet paper, no sheets on the bed just like dooner covers ×2. Bit strange but anyway. No wifi in the room only reception. They might have in rooms in main building but we were in newer part. No alcohol on site as is Muslim run but restaurant next door has.

• AHMAD SYAZWAN (8/5): Nice motel with 3 star hotel facilities - We stayed at Penarak Bamboo Beach Motel and we were very happy after being offered extra 2 sofabed at additional RM20. Room is big and tomyam at Bamboo also very delicious.Staffs also very helpful as we requested for additional pillow, they gave 2 extra pillows at no charge.Will consider to come again in the near future.

• Familie de (10/5): Toplocatie voor wie rust wil ! - Zo knus en gezellig en zeer vriendelijke mensen ! Heerlijk uit je kamer het privestrand oplopen en relaxen in de hangmatten of ligbedden.

• Malar (8/5): Nice motel by the sea - The hotel is just on the sea next to the beautiful Fish Farm Restaurant. Rooms are comfortable and not expensive. It is a bit far from the shops and restaurants but suits if you are looking for a peaceful place. The hotel has no restaurant but the Fish Farm is right next and there is a local restaurant about 200 meters away if you are looking for inexpensive food. The reception opens only after 9 AM and that is a problem if you have to book a tour the same morning or leave before 9.
• Verified traveler (6/5): No value for money - This motel is located quite far from everything, about 1,5 km to the nearest stores and restaurants so you'll need to take a taxi or rent a motorcycle to get around. This motel is actually also really far away from beach despite of the name. The WiFi didn't work in our room at all. There was no safety box although it said so in hotels.com. Our room was quite dirty and the towels and linen in our room didn't feel or look clean. The motel staff didn't speak very good English and were not welcoming. It said in the motel window that the reception is open 8.00-24.00 but one morning there wasn't anybody until 9.05 and the second morning when we were supposed to check out at 8.30 there was three guys sleeping in the reception. We had to knock pretty loud to get them stand up and open the door. Altogether the service was a bit rude. I wouldn't recommend this motel because of the location, rude staff and lack of promised facilities (WiFi, safetybox). Good things about the motel: they do have a nice swimming pool (although it was in the middle if construction site when we visited) and they rent motorcycles with quite affordable price.
• beachlovers5759 (4/5): Overnight stay before boarding the ferry - This budget hotel served the purpose of providing a hot shower and bed between my flight from KL and the ferry to Koh Lipe. Although about 25-30 mins from the airport, it is close to the ferry terminal. The staff were friendly and carried my bag to my room, directed me to the restaurant next door for a late dinner, and organised a taxi to the ferry the following morning. The room was simple with TV, AC, a wet bathroom, and small window. Wifi is only available at reception. The mattress was comfortable but the bed had a fitted sheet and a light scratchy cover (no top sheet) which made me itch, so I put my sarong between myself and the the cover and was able to get comfortable. Children played loudly outside my room until late, despite me asking them kindly to quieten down. As mentioned by another reviewer there is construction work continuing at this hotel (now December) so over time the hotel may improve.
• mohdq69 (8/5): First! - Since no one read the review for this motel, I'll put some effort upon it. Some place in this motel are under construction (Sept 2014) but there are a number of buildings ready for check in request. I was there, with another 3 persons for a family trip and we booked a room by making a call and some deposit. The family room is big and clean, with two queen beds plus a small sofa for an additional person to stay in. TV, air conditioning and water heater are working fine provided each one of us a clean white towel. I can't find any fault to give a bad rating on this motel since it is affordable and it is close to the sea for your own space to enjoy it! P/s : mini garden is under construction, another plus when it's finished.
• A-M (4/5): Luksuskalaravintolan naapurissa - Ihanassa rantamaisemassa sijaitseva motelli. parvekkeelta näkymä merelle ja kalaravintolaan, kiinalaisen uuden vuodenjuhlinnan äänet kuuluivat alkuiltaan, myöhäisillasta parveke ihana istuinpaikka. Huone siisti- parvekehuoneessa ei ollut jääkaappia, ilmastoinnin avulla hyvä nukkumislämpötila. Ei päällyslakanaa, vain kuvissa näkyvä kukallinen peite, jonka he vakuuttivat pesevänsä jokaisen asiakkaan jälkeen. Ei safea huoneessa, ovessa tavallinen lukko ja pieni salpa. Ongelmana aina märkä kylpyhuoneen lattia: lattiakaivo tosin veti, mutta koska lattia oli tasainen ja kuivauslastaa ei ollut....seurauksena kosteusvaurioita kylpyhuonnen ja huoneen välisessä seinässä. Asukkaina perhekuntia, jotka huutelivat käytävällä puoleen yöhön.. Ihanalle rannalle rakenteilla ravintola, joka valmistunee loppukesällä.
