• Charlotte (6/5): Average stay - Large room but floor looked like it needed eeplacing as it was uneven and uncomfortable walking on it bare footed. One of the chairs had a bent foot. The room was clean except for a couple of small stains on the bedsheet. There were stirrers instead of teaspoons and a couple of the milks were off. The bed was very comfortable untill you ised the pillows. My husband said his extremely thin pillows were solid and ended up sleeping with a hoodie under pillow to make it comfortable. My pillows were softer but not only thin but lumpy. We both woke with headaches. The room was clean and a bery good size. My welcome and check in was almost perfect. Friendly andwelcoming plus the car permit. It says on a sign to close doors quietly but it was impossible especially the one to the room it was so stiff. Overall it was alright but the room could do with a little attention.

• Verified traveler (2/5): Tatty, old, noisy, uncomfortable - Pros: Friendly check in staff but didn’t see agin for eh rest of the stay. Cooked breakfast available Near the sea front Cons: Small bathroom. You hit your elbow on the shower when using the toilet. Water pressure is shocking. Toilet took ages to refill resulting in “dripping” noise through the night. I had to fill the water up from the shower to get the toilet to flush. No hot water from the sink and cold water dibbles out Shower has a booster pump so at least it works but it changes from hot water to cold water frequently. Also tiny and not much space Strange “barn” style door which was loud and heavy to open, also had a large gap under the door - impossible to have privacy. Bedroom Tatty and in need of a refurb. Was very hot but couldn’t open the window due to there being scaffolding outside which people could climb up and get into the room through the window. Not safe to open the window. View was poor - building site. Tv signal kept going. We were in room 101 at the top of the stairs so couldn’t hear everyone passing plus the front door bell being rung. Noisy in the morning- could hear other peoples shower pumps and the noise from be kitchen downstairs The bed was shocking. Don’t expect to get any sleep on it. Has an ironing board in the room but no iron. This is more of a B&B than hotel. Stayed two nights and came away with sore backs and lack of sleep. Wouldn’t stay again? Only if I wanted to meet Basil Fawlty.

• Maria (10/5): Helpful staff - On arrival i was originally given top floor room unfortunately lift was out of order and after explaining my knee issues i have the front of house staff member immediately swapped my room to a ground floor without any problems.

• Allan (8/5): Fantastic large family room - One of the largest family rooms weve had with sea views to the side which was great. Very nicely located and parking was included and available on road close by. Did have no hot water on one the morning but just had to slow our morning and wait for 30 mins and it was all ok. Challenge of older buildings I guess. Would stay again.

• B (8/5): I'll visit again. - I had the pleasure of staying at the Da Vinci Hotel for three nights over the Bank Holiday weekend. I found the hotel to be clean, spacious, practical, friendly, safe, and in a great location. The design of the hotel was also very appealing and I felt that it offered excellent value for money. I would definitely choose to stay at this hotel again in the future and I am confident that I would enjoy my stay each time. Upon my arrival, everything was clearly explained to me and I was offered the option of having breakfast at a very reasonable price. The hotel was well-managed and organized, and I appreciated that my towels were changed daily. I am very pleased with my experience at the Da Vinci Hotel and I would like to thank the team for making my short holiday a memorable one.
• Halyna (4/5): - If you need to stay for one or two nights and there are no other options only … The location is okay. The bathroom is dirty, with mold everywhere on the taps, tiles, and shower. To turn on the hot water, you have to fight with the electric heater in the shower. There is no fridge, drinking water, or even teaspoons. The bed and lamps are covered in dust and someone’s hair. The windows also have black mold. Overall, the room is warm, but you can hear noise from the hallway, and the light from the common corridor shines into the room. In the lobby, I met a man whose wallet was stolen from his room. In my room, they didn’t clean the second day, only replaced the trash bags. However, for some reason, they threw the blanket aside and placed my pillow in the middle of the bed, even though I had made the bed before leaving the room. They might have been looking for something… They didn’t ask for any documents upon check-in. The key to the room unlocks both my room and the hotel doors; I don’t know how that works, but when I asked if that meant anyone could open my room, the receptionist said it was “stupid.” I guess it’s okay for him to talk to guests like that. On the day of departure, I called a very scary and squeaky elevator, and on the floor, there were cups and glasses that the cleaners were supposed to put in the rooms later. Our room was large and bright with a huge en-suite (with one bath and one shower). The hotel was very clean, tastefully decorated, and offered a competitively-priced breakfast, which was HOT, and one of the best we've had at any hotel. da Vinci is a 1 minute walk from Devonshire Park Theatre, and 10 minutes walk from the town centre.

Welcoming, helpful staff who carefully explained the car parking permits system in use in Eastbourne. Tasty and extremely good value breakfast. Lovely themed bedroom dedicated to Klimt( the Austrian painter). Plenty to see and do. Would happily stay again.

• Lesley (8/5): Lovely hotel in a great area of Eastbourne. - Lovely welcome on arrival. Had a lift which was very helpful. Room was pleasantly decorated and clean . Bed was very comfortable- stayed 2 nights and towels refreshed after night one. Shower was excellent when working - was a bit of a hit or miss - water was scolding one minute and freezing the next but we got through that. Would definitely stay again . Didn’t manage to get up in time for breakfast, so can’t comment.

• Ceri (4/5): - We were very disappointed with our 2 night stay. We booked a superior room (although we may have been given an "executive" room as it had a sofa in it), and although very large, it was tatty and the decor was very tired with creaky laminate flooring. Scuff marks on the walls, curtains coming off the rail and not big enough to cover the windows. The bathroom was very small and the shower was very weak and had grubby grouting and did not feel spotlessly clean. Towels, although clean, were very thin and worn. The pillows were flat as pancakes and the duvet cover had a hole in it. We were greeted by a manager when we arrived but did not see him or any other staff for the rest of our stay. I really wanted to like this hotel - many other reviews had been glowing which is why we booked. However, there was nothing about our room that warranted the description of "Superior" or the price.

• Richard (10/5): Da Vinci Hotel July 2024 - The hotel was perfectly positioned just off the seafront. The room was large, light, & well appointed. The bed was huge and comfortable. The cooked breakfast was great and well priced. The owner/manager was friendly, courteous and helpful. Parking was in front of the hotel with a permit provided for free. I would stay there again.

• Maria (8/5): Art gallery & hotel - Good value for our of season stay close to theatre. Good breakfast, helpful staff and yet very relaxed nature. Absolutely Loved the art gallery in reception. Good size room. Only downside is it's not on site parking as advertised - it's on street parking with a permit given by the hotel but we still had to park in another street. Wasn't wheelchair accessible despite saying lift in Accessibility criteria. Not big issue for those with limited mobility but would have been a problem for full time wheelchair user.

Big spacious room but uncomfortable bed, rubbish electric shower, nice complimentary tea coffee tray. Guy at breakfast was awesome and so friendly and lady who checked us in was equally as nice and helpful Breakfast is great value Unfortunately noise travels in this hotel
• Harriet (10/5): - Great size of rooms with a lovely sea view. Parking is easy and the hotel accommodated an hour later for our check out no problem. Good location close to theatre, shops and beach! Staff friendly. Only thing to be aware of is the noise travels a lot in this hotel. Much like being at home and someone is walking up or down the stairs.

Good seating areas. Very reasonable charges. Breakfast (extra charge) good. Negatives: Bathroom - I am under 5ft and in my 70's. There was a full high sided bath in there. Electric over shower looked powerful. I would have struggled to get into the bath but didn't even try as there were no grab rails. I couldn't risk having a bath/shower, wouldn't have felt very safe. The bed was at the most only 20inches high. It was an effort getting onto the bed and even more effort getting up. Great for a younger active person but not suitable for an older or less active person.

• George (10/5): We wont be looking anywhere else in Eastbourne - This hotel is great. Recently refreshed it was clean and in good order. We had a large room with a sideways sea view and the bathroom was spotless. Wi-Fi was strong with no dropouts. Staff were excellent. The breakfast offered a good choice and it was a bargain. Within 5 minutes you can be on the beach , in a restaurant area near the theatre with an excellent Thai restaurant or in the town centre. Despite plenty of poorly parked cars I never had a problem finding a space and the hotel issued free parking permits. It is sad but most UK seaside resorts now have an evening/night safety problem and it pays to be careful. This hotel is on the right side of the pier and the town centre to avoid those issues.
