Guest Reviews

- Peter (10/5): - Highly recommend. A great night's sleep after a wonderful meal in their restaurant.
- Fraser (8/5): - Great overnight
- Vicki (10/5): - A very warm welcome. A charming old property, very well decorated to make it comfortable. Great food and service.
- He (10/5): - I would defnitely visit again just for the breakfast
- Richard (10/5): - Great service, very clean, super food
- Ian (10/5): - Absolutely amazing building that has a history which is well displayed and interesting
Food was amazing and the staff are happy to engage in conversation
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a lovely surprise, quality shines through.
- Daniel (10/5): - A consistently good attention to detail, with lovely touches the enhance the overall guest experience.
- Nina (8/5): - Lovely host, good breakfast, will definitely stay again when I’m next in the area.
- martin (10/5): Comfortable stay - Fantastic gem of a hotel near Thame . Great rooms and food
- Christopher (8/5): Long Crendon Angel. - Very nice place, cosy, clean etc. Unforunatelt when I can down for breakfast at 7am (the start time) everything was locked up and no lights on. Couldn’t even get out of the building (a worry in itself). Someone did turn up at 7.15 but I had to be away by that time so had to dash off. Pity as I’d paid for the breakfast and other than that was a very nice stay.
- Philip (10/5): - Yet again room, staff and breakfast exultant
- Lorraine (10/5): The angel B and B - The angel was a stunning building the room was great plenty of storage clean beautifully decorated
Breakfast was great the staff were poilte and helpfull
Defantley would recomend
- Paul (10/5): Great character old pub with amazing breakfast - Were at a wedding nearby, management were very accommodating and helpful with us dropping bags and picking up keys early. Room was cosy and full of character. Breakfast choice was surprisingly good and delicious. Much nicer option than other local 'chain' hotels.
- Martyn (10/5): Very Good - After a long drive I received a very warm welcome into this old property that has been tastefully decorated, Dinner was excellent my bedroom was very comfortable and after a very good breakfast it finished off a very enjoyable stay.
- Philip (10/5): he Angel - Very nice and clean food in restaurant first class and the breakfast is excellent nice staff very helpful can not fault the place
- Verified traveler (8/5): Country Escape - Beautiful room with all the touches you’d want. In very old charming country hotel complete with low doorways- watch your head and uneven floors. Very warm and cosy. Unfortunately the heat from the pub below did make it too hot overnight which spoilt our sleep. It was also very loud from the pub but this did stop at 11pm.
Do as we did enjoy a great meal downstairs then have a drink.
Service was good it is in a nice village and although rural very easy to get to from the motorway.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a old original pub. Full of character The rooms were fantastically refurbished. Couldn’t fault anything.
- Richard (10/5): - Great breakfast and beautiful old world room with great features
- Olaf (10/5): Lovely hotel and great restaurant - Stayed there recently for one night only, and I can't recommend this hotel (and restaurant!) highly enough!
Thoroughly enjoyed the comfortable room, as well as the excellent dinner and the lovely breakfast in the morning.
- Anna (10/5): Just come here you will love it - Fabulous!
- brian (10/5): Superb “Coach Inn” restaurant with rooms - Great “country inn” - lovely welcome and a nice set up. Low ceilings and full of character. Full of nooks and crannies and a great kitchen offering - had real food envy looking at some dishes - wish we had arrived earlier to allow a more relaxed dining experience - a place I will return to!
- martin (10/5): - Very convenient for my office and friendly staff. Morning Waitress is excellent and very commercially aware of the business . Always happy to help out
- Iain (8/5): - Quaint rooms above a small restaurant. We didn't try the restaurant as we were there for an event nearby, but the room was reasonably sized and comfortable. Unnecessarily huge bathroom with a roll-top bath. Really character-filled old building with low ceilings and uneven floors. Nice village but not too much in walking distance. Really good breakfast.
- Peter (10/5): - All excellent
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Characterful building, comfortable, if not huge, room, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, very good value for single guest.
- Philip (10/5): - Very nice hotel with good staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely quirky hotel - Lovely quirky hotel and my third stay. Heating was switched off though (April) and there was no shower in my room only a bath (varies by room)
- Ken (10/5): Excellent accommodation and food. - Ample parking, loads of character building, excellent food, friendly staff, quiet and a very comfortable bed.
- Raegan (10/5): Classy and individual. Country charm - Gorgeous pub and lovely rooms. Old style charm, big fireplace and oak beams. Classy, if a little pricey menu, but the food was lovely. Only downside is that the WiFi isn't up to it if you need to rely on it for work. Great breakfast, with personal service rather than help yourself buffet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A nice hotel - I felt a little bit expensive for its location but excellent hotel staff and nice breaKFAST.
- Rosemary (10/5): - A loverly old place but so much so the panels in the door had huge gaps and I had to hang a blanket over it to stop other residents looking straight into the room.
Be warned, a small glass of white wine cost £7.
- Mark (10/5): Best in area for comfort and price - I've stayed here a few times now and have to say you can't go wrong. It has some of the best prices in the area and place is just lovely.
- Graeme (8/5): The Angel - Overall good but as it is a very old building prepare yourself for low beams, sloping floors & little or no soundproofing!
Restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and friendly & efficient staff.
Sausage & bacon in crusty bread with poached egg was amazing
- Mark (10/5): - One of the best B&Bs in the area and cant argue with the price
- Liz (10/5): Saturday Night Relaxation - Although the Angel is not far from where we live we like to stay the night after a meal there.
Food is Fabulous, Staff are Friendly & Bedrooms are Comfy!!
My only little moan would be the boring breakfast !
- Verified traveler (10/5): Oozes character. - Not a right angle in sight in this historic building. Warm, comfortable, clean. Delicious food and friendly service. Do be sure to book a table if you are staying as they get very busy and don't automatically hold tables for residents.
- NAS (8/5): Lovely pub style hotel - Nature of the pub and it's age means the shower is not tall enough to stand up in and parking is limited.
However bearing that all in mind it was a lovely hotel / pub and nice clean rooms.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not as advertised - No internet at all even though advertised, no shower -only bath with handheld shower- not specified as not having shower in description.
Otherwise ok but no value for money
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice pub and cosy accomodation - Stayed while at a friend's wedding - lovely pub and cosy accomidation
- Amber (8/5): Flying visit - We literally crashed here for one night after a wedding so don't have much to rate it on. The building is very old - most likely listed - and has short doorways and uneven floors but that adds to the charm. The place is immaculate. We arrived to check in after midnight but the owner was very amenable to a late check in. The decor is old fashioned but fitting with the building and the bathroom was modern enough. A tall person may struggle in the bed as it has a footboard. The chef / waiter for breakfast was very hospitable and professional and the food was good.
- Charmaine (6/5): - Room was clean, well serviced, very roomy bathroom, only drawback from the room point of view was only a handheld shower over the bath. Bath was big, but it was a bit scary getting in and out with nothing to hold onto. Beautiful big claw foot bath sparkling clean. Also no phone reception. Room was beautifully decorated bed was charming inviting and comfy. Doors rustic so let in quite a bit of light and noise. Restaurant was a little disappointing with standard of food the first night but superb the last night. Breakfast poorly organized the first couple of mornings but this was swiftly corrected after giving feedback. The village is very charming and so were the staff.
- Pete (10/5): Pleasant comfortable restaurant with rooms in attr - Excellent all round. Comfortable warm room, attentive staff, good food.
- Flick (10/5): Charming, with excellent food, staff and comfort. - Spent 2 nights, 3 days here between Christmas and New Year. The staff were friendly, courteous, and extremely obliging. I asked to move rooms, because disability makes using a bath difficult, and I was cheerfully allocated another room. An offer of help with luggage came unprompted, and generally the staff were absolutely lovely. Both rooms were tastefully, and stylishly furnished with a complimentary view to the age and character of the property yet also providing everything expected of modern accomodation. I had 2 light evening meals, and my son and I had a full midday meal. All were absolutely amazing, and the breakfasts were as good as any I've had (individually prepared on ordering, rather than sitting around all morning!). I will definitely be staying, and eating here, again and I have already recommended it several times.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great night at the Angel - My stay at the Angel was a nice experience. Food was a bit pricey but worth every penny, best meal I have had in a long time.
Room was just what I needed after a long day.
Breakfast was good.
I have already recommended to my work colleagues.
- Verified traveler (10/5): An ideal spot for a spoil - A lovely quirky old building - you'll need to stoop through the doors - and a first class restaurant. A well appointed comfortable room and excellent service throughout.
- Barbara (8/5): Lovely village restaurant with rooms - We stayed as going to a nearby wedding. The location is beautiful, our room had lovely old style decor and touches. Breakfast was really high quality (needed with the hangover!) and in a lovely old style setting. We only didn't give full marks as there's no one on reception so can take a while to get service and the door to our room had a bit of a gap... So not so private!
- Matthew (10/5): First Rate Review - Hugely impressed by all aspects of the accommodation. Will definitely use The Angel again & highly recommend it for stays in Long Crendon & it's locale
- Philip (10/5): Excellent Restaurant with Rooms - A two day business trip very good room if a little quirky with low doorways but it all added to the visit. The two evening meals were superb, I understand it is a popular restaurant and I can see why.
- Anthony (4/5): Business trip - The hotel was very cold the heating poor.
food expensive
