- Christopher (10/5): Wonderful hosts in a good location - Our hosts (Howie and Jolanta) were amazing, it was a beautiful house with amazing woodwork and decorations throughout. They greeted us graciously and showed us our room (bedroom #2). They showed us everything we needed to know and made sure we had our plans set for the evening. In the morning we had a wonderful breakfast. The lyons house is located walking distance from everything in the historic old town. We stayed at the Lyons house 19 years ago when we got engaged in Niagara on the lake and came back to reminisce. It was just was wonderful a location and house as it was 19 years ago. You are in good hands at the Lyons house.
- STUART (10/5): - Very charming, warm and clean and comfortable. Howie is a real hoot, and his young bride makes the best breakfasts in town. Walkable to town (5 minutes) with many dining/entertainment/shopping options. Check out the Heriage trail for a beautiful morning walk. Definitely be back.

It is a local and small business that I am very happy to recommend it. N/A

Best wishes,
Charlie and Barb
- Gordon (10/5): Wonderful getaway - Breakfast was superb. Howard & Jolanta were awesome hosts
- marie Claude (10/5): - Great hosts! Just the best B&B to stay in Niagara-on-the -Lake! Walking distance to center of town.
- Drew (10/5): - Amazing stay!!!
- Lakshmi (10/5): - We loved the theme of the Historic Lyons House! Each room was decorated with beautiful period furnishings and yet had all the modern conveniences. The breakfasts were so delicious, creatively presented and filling. Bootsy, the cat, was very receptive to all the morning and evening petting. We thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed Howard’s insightful chats about the area’s attractions and history. We hope to return in the future during the warmer months to see the gardens in bloom in the backyard!
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rita (10/5): - Beautiful quiet property. The garden is very peaceful. Walking distance to everything with beautiful parcs. Very safe to walk even late at night. Best homemade breakfast with the host and his wife that are just charming and let’s not forget their exquisite cat….
I would definitely recommande this property
- Richard (10/5): We had and excellent holiday. - The breakfasts were fantastic and staff was helpful and friendly. We could not think of anything wrong
- Diana (9/5): Had a wonderful stay, and enjoyed the lovely accommodations. - Breakfast was lovely, and location to town was great. We were disappointed that there was no afternoon snack or happy hour. We were told later, after we arrived of the Town rules. Maybe stating this info at booking, would be helpful to the guests. We usually have afternoon tea or snacks at other B&AB’s we stayed at.
- Katie (8/5): Lovely Weekend Stay for Couples - The place was lovely for a weekend stay. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. They cooked an exceptional breakfast each morning and were very nice and thoughtful. It was fun to get to know the other guests around the breakfast table. It was very close to town and we enjoyed walking everywhere. I wish I had known there was a cat there, as my husband is allergic. The bedroom was very clean, however, and he had no reaction. They recommended we remove our shoes before entering which was fine. I would have loved for some sanitary slippers only I used for the weekend instead of communal ones, or letting me know before I arrive so I could bring my own. Also, door locks from the outside so we could lock the room when we left. Very minor things, we still very much enjoyed our stay!
- Jane (8/5): Very good - Excellent breakfast , Great location . I would def. book again
- Shane (10/5): Treat Yourself to The Best - What a wonderful surprise to find this gem of a stay for our vacation to Niagara Falls! Howard and Jolanta were superb hosts, creating the perfect Bed and Breakfast experience with all the modern amenities from the wonderfully preserved Historic Lyons House built in 1835. Super-clean home in the most perfect, quaint little town just far enough away from the "tourist processing plant" that is Niagara Falls.. Breakfast each morning was wonderful. Howard's Eggs Benedict should win award. Bootsy the cat-ambassador won our hearts! Could not have been a more perfect experience.
- Michael (10/5): Wonderful stay - 2 day stay in beautiful Niagara on the Lake. The house was beautiful and comfortable and the breakfast was wonderful. The hosts are very friendly.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joan (10/5): Convenient and Comfortable - Lyons House was perfect for a couple's weekend in Niagara on the Lake. Location was perfect...could leave the car and walk into Old Town - really important as the parking is challenging. Breakfasts were awesome, hosts very friendly, room comfortable and quiet. Beautiful old home, but spacious and updated. Just enough off of the beaten path but so close to everything.
- Regina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - Knowledgeable owner - kept giving us recommendations. He also wanted feedback on our excursions, so he could keep abreast of the venues.
Ecellent breakfasts. Great location, very close to the city centre.
Great couple - attentive and create a relaxed atmosphere.
- Robbie (10/5): Beautiful! .. oh wait…that’s just one word.. - Friendly, helpful host, welcoming, relaxed and informative; such a contrast from the Tourist Processing Plant that is Niagara Falls…. I didn’t find it earlier!
- Natalie (10/5): Amazing, would definitely return! - Howard was super friendly and the house was beautiful and comfortable Wasn’t aware there would be a cat- my partner and I are both allergic but it kept to itself and we didn’t have any issues
- Sahar (9/5): Lovely and peaceful getaway from the city - The breakfast was amazing and so were the hosts and the location of the house was great too! n/a
- Langfield (8/5): Very good -
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): great place to stay if you’re considering visiting Niagara on the lake - beautiful home close to shops, Shaw festival, restaurants and wineries would have preferred having the privacy of drapes in the bedroom vs sheer curtains. otherwise a very lovely room
- Sai (8/5): Very good -
- Kathleen (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast was excellent. The bathing suite that came with my room was wonderful. I really enjoyed bathing in the large claw foot tub. The breakfast was amazing and was tailored to some of the guests requests.
- Ellie (10/5): It was a fabulous week! Everything was perfect thanks to the B&B owners, Jolanta & Howard. - The Breakfasts were phenomenal! Every course was plated beautifully and delicious tasting. The Table was set beautifully and the other guests staying at the B&B made every morning a wonderful start to a wonderful day. Jolanta and Howard were wonderful hostess and host. Howard was outgoing, always making sure that everything was to our liking and accommodating our every need. They had 'spot-on' suggestions for daily activities and restaurants for dinner. It was a wonderful week thanks to our hosts, Jolanta and Howard. We would whole heartedly recommend the Historic Lyons House and hope to return soon. We were sad that our vacation ended and we had to go home!
- Karen (10/5): - While attending a wedding in Niagara I stayed at Lyon’s House. It more than met my needs and I enjoyed my stay tremendously.
- peter (2/5): - cancellation details inaccurate
- Lynda (10/5): - My husband and I stayed here for a night away from the kids. The house was fantastic- clean and great architecture. Our room was cozy and had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious.
- Cody (10/5): - Quaint, well equipped rooms with lovely hosts.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property and gardens are beautiful and the breakfast was exceptional!! We really enjoyed our stay.
- Nancy (10/5): - We loved the home and the rooms were very cozy with the fireplace and extra chairs to lounge by the fire. Howard was very kind and we look forward to staying there again in the future.
- Liana (10/5): - Great hosts, great accommodation and perfect location. We will definitely be back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is NOT a "complaint", just an observation: it was a little awkward having to remember to take your shoes off and having to put them on at the door on the way out, especially, when you were changing shoes and like to use a shoehorn and then you have to carry it around all day/night.. Perhaps providing a shoehorn in the front hall would be helpful.
I understand not wearing shoes in the house to protect the carpets, etc, even if a bit unusual, but the transition every time you went in, or out, was a little awkward.
A minor inconvenience, however. It was a very nice place & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- Richard (10/5): Wonderful stay - breakfast, lunch, dinner, each followed by a play. Too little time to enjoy NotL and our lovely room. Excellent breakfast, fine, friendly, helpful hosts
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The breakfast was terrible. Pancakes and bacon. Not elegant at all.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Knowledgeable hosts, great location, lovely room, wonderful breakfast!
- Michael (10/5): Spring 2019 Stay - This B and B is in a nearly 200 year old house that has been meticulously maintained. The owners are friendly, the rooms quite comfortable, and the breakfast excellent. Well worth the price.
- George (10/5): - Conveniently located; really great breakfasts.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Enjoyable heritage house close to eeverything - A most pleasant home with amiable host couple. Roms are large, nicely appointed, clean and comfortable. Hosts Howard and Jolanta very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast s were great. Eggs Benedict and blueberry pancakes, fresh fruit all delicious. Sitting room very comfortable and a lovely garden setting for afternoon relaxing if you wish. Certainly recommend.
- Susan (10/5): A Lovely Place with a Great Location - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely B&B. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, creatively, and beautifully presented. The home is immaculate and very comfortable. The location is great. It was only a short walk to town. We were given dining suggestions as well as information about many of the wineries. We had a wonderful time and would love to return.
- Davina R (10/5): Delightful Place to Stay in Niagara-on-the-Lake - My brother and wife were visiting from England and staying at the Lyons House made our stay in the Niagara Area exceptional! Our hosts were friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful! The rooms were clean, delightfully decorated and very comfortable! Our breakfasts were very delicious and hosts were very accommodating with dietary needs! We would definitely stay here again and recommend the Lyons House as a wonderful place to stay! Thank you!
- Iris (10/5): Great B&B - Everything was perfect. Howard and Jolanta are very good hosts. They went out of there way to make us comfortable. Oh, and the breakfasts were great. We would definitely stay there again.
Iris and Roger
- Chip (10/5): Nice, clean B&B in the middle of wine country - This was a great choice for a few days sightseeing in and around Niagara. Nice, comfortable, clean rooms and a wonderful gourmet breakfast. Owner went far out of his way to make us comfortable, including helping with recovery of an item we left behind. Highly recommended.
- George (10/5): Intimate B&B at Niagara-on-the-Lake - There are only three guest rooms, so everyone got to know everyone else. The hosts are very friendly and accomodating. The breakfasts were fabulous. We stayed for three nights and had consecutively pancakes with real maple syrup and walnuts, and crisp bacon; eggs Benedict with, what else, Canadian bacon; and finally a feta cheese omelet and croissants. Every breakfast started with a fresh fruit cup and orange juice. Coffee or tea available. Everything was beautifully presented.
In addition to the nicely appointed guest bedrooms, there's a gracious sitting room and dining room on the ground floor. There's a garden that's available for the guests, but it rained on and off during our stay so we didn't make use of it.
- Sorina (10/5): Unforgettable - This was mine and my husband's first time staying at a B&B and Howard and Yolanta made the experience unforgettable as we were celebrating my husband's 30th birthday.
Their house is gorgous, the amenities are luxurious, the hosts are beautifully friendly and helpful and the overall experience was full of happy, positive energy. We felt like we stayed with long-time friends, were so well taken care of and Howard went above and beyond to make our celebration memorable.
I cannot say enough good things about this precious place, except that I only hope it isn't booked solid the next time we want to return - fingers crossed!
- Loren (10/5): Quiet Retreat - Very nice bed and breakfast in historic residential neighborhood. Rooms were comfortable and breakfast was great.
- Susan (10/5): A beautiful place to stay - Very nice and inviting operators very helpful breakfast was wonderful and home was beautiful I would recommend to anyone
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location! - Had a wonderful stay - Howie and Jolanda the most helpful and gracious hosts.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic bed and breakfast located only blocks from downtown Niagara on the Lake. The room was very warm, comfortable and very well decorated. The staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and able to help with anything that you may need. The breakfast each morning is not to be missed as it was delicious.
- Lynne (10/5): Bed and Breakfast Believer - We had never stayed at a B&B before and were a little worried. Not anymore. Will diffidently stay here whenever we return to Niagara on the Lake. Upon arrival we were given a full tour. House is beautiful and rooms just as nice. Breakfast was amazing, Howie is a great cook and made us feel at home. I would recommend Lyon House to everyone.
- Kathleen (10/5): Anniversary getaway - We were there 2 nights. They were extremely helpful. The breakfasts were fantastic! Walking distance to town and everything. Made reservations for us. Very friendly 3 legged cat.
- Bernard (10/5): A FIVE STAR EXPERIENCE ! - A most enjoyable experience ! Howie the owner was a wonderful host, insisting on serving a 4+STAR breakfast every AM with a different setting each day.He and his wife were perfect hosts. We spent on noon having a leisurely lunch in the beautiful back gardens.
- karen (10/5): Historic Lyons House, a 5 star experience! - Historic Lyons House was a wonderful Bed and Breakfast. The house is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The breakfasts were fabulous; the food, presentation, table settings were beyond expectation. The location was great, right on King Street, just 3 blocks from the main part of town. The host and hostess were very friendly and accommodating. They booked all our dinner reservations, told us where to go during the day, made sure we didn't get lost. Staying here was a very unique experience, it was our first time staying in a B&B and we both loved it. My husband and I would give this hotel a 5 star rating!
- William (10/5): A little gem - We were in NOTL to see three plays and Lyons House was conveniently located so we could easily walk to the two theatres we visited. The accommodations were very comfortable and the two breakfasts were superb.
- Kelly (10/5): Perfect weekend getaway - We stayed at the Lyons for one night the past weekend for our wedding anniversary. We were charmed right away by the beautiful garden and the decors inside the house. The room was very clean, and we also got a bathroom with jacuzzi. Howard extended a very warm welcome and was extremely helpful to recommend places/restaurants for us to go. And if all of those didn't impress , the breakfast the next day was another Wow factor. Two thumbs up to our hosts for making us feel right at home! We will definitely recommend Lyons historic house to anyone!
- Jenny & Brian (10/5): Fabulous! - 1 st time at a B&B. Everything about it was great. Fabulous breakfasts, easy walk to shops, very comfortable room. Howard is "tour guide extraordinaire". It was an unexpected bonus to receive complementary wine tasting tickets and other discount coupons. Met some lovely people at breakfast and often got together with them later in the day or evening. A overall wonder experience. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): This is the cleanest place we've stayed in ever! - Not only is this an immaculately clean and well kept place, the hosts are very giving and helpful people. Howard is hilarious, always keeping things light, yet extremely helpful. He directed us with a map and detailed instructions for an excellent bike route to go wine tasting, accompanying us with complimentary wine tasting vouchers and great suggestions for lunch and dinner! Some places don't even greet you or just send an e-mail, whereas Howard went out of his way to call us and tell us to arrive EARLY so he could get us on the bikes and out there wine tasting and touring around. EXCELLENT! I can't say enough about a host like Howard who cares enough to take the time to guide his guests in the right direction, listen to our needs and what we want to do, and help in any way he can. We did things we otherwise wouldn't have done nor had the time had it not been for Howard calling us the night prior to advise us to arrive early and get out there. THANKS HOWARD!!!
