- Lenka Dr. (10/5): - Úžasné místo! Mějte na paměti že je vzdálené téměř od všeho takže doporučuji mít skútr. Z celé cesty po Malajsii nejvíce vzpomínáme na tohle ubytko, výhled, východy slunce, obří pokoj s kuchyňkou, milý personál i jejich kočky, které občas chodí na návštěvu.
- Ricardo Pinto (7/5): It could be one of the best hotels ever if they focused on maintenance. - The staff was amazing, always available to meet our needs. The pool connected to the balcony was a really nice plus. Quiet place, perfect for enjoying the holidays. This place has everything to be one of the best hotels ever. However, it seems to have had no maintenance for many years. We found pool tiles out of place, some furniture in the room was damaged, and even the bathroom needed some repairs. There was no place in the hotel to have a simple drink or a sandwich.
- Oliver (9/5): Ruhige Anlage - Ruhige Lage direkt am Meer mit super aussicht & Sonnenaufgänge. Wir waren jeden Tag im Pool. Das Zimmer war riesig. Die Anlage ist langsam in die Jahre gekommen. Es gab kein Restaurant oder Frühstücksmöglichkeiten. Die Anlage ist ein bisschen abgeschieden mussten alles mit Grab machen. Roller oder Auto geht auch sie haben Kostenlose Parkplätze.

No hassle for checkin-checkout. Little far from city, so if you want to chill out and spent leisure time, this is great location. We can order food through Grab/food panda. Nearest restaurant is only 5min from resort. Resort is in middle of kuah and cenang.

- Marilena (6/5): Ein Aufenthalt in einem abgewohnten Lost Place - mit schönem Ausblick - Das Personal des Hotels ist extrem freundlich und sehr herzlich. Die Anlage hat großes (ungenutztes) Potential und unser Zimmer mit direktem Poolzugang war sehr geräumig. Zudem bot die Terrasse einen herrlichen Blick auf das Meer. Die gesamte Anlage wirkt wie ein verlassener „Lost Place“. Es ist beinahe gruselig, zumal nicht viele Gäste in der Unterkunft waren. Under Zimmer war extrem abgewohnt. Es befand sich ein großer, festliegender, extrem dreckiger Teppich im Zimmer, der viele undefinierbare Flecken aufwies. Die gesamte Einrichtung ist abgenutzt und riecht muffig. Die Klimaanlage roch moderig und abgestanden. Unser Duschgel wurde erst am letzten Tag aufgefüllt, obwohl es offensichtlich leer war. Das Bad hatte viele schimmelige Stellen. Der Pool hat einige lockere kleine Fliesen und viele Fliesen fehlen komplett, was sehr gefährlich ist und eine Verletzungsgefahr darstellt. Ohne Auto/Roller ist man aufgeschmissen aber das hat uns nicht gestört, da wir mobil waren. Insgesamt merkt man, dass die Unterkunft mal einen Glanz hatte und damals gut durchgedacht war. Es wurde aber jahrelang nichts repariert oder erneuert und jetzt gleicht sie einer Ruine. Für das, was sie bietet, ist sie leider zu teuer.

Nous avions la suite Océan, très grande, bonne clim, et bon wifi. Personnel très agréable. Hôtel (à vendre lors de notre séjour) dans son jus et qui pourrait être grandiose avec des travaux. Il n'y a pas de restauration sur place. Le port voisin de Kuah est aussi un peu dans son jus, rien à voir avec l'ambiance de la plage de Pantai Cenang.

Though the property claimed beach/ocean front- it was not how it sounded as the high/low tide caused the water muddy and there was no access to the ocean/breach from the property as it sounded which was misleading.

Das Hotel hat wohl eine strenge "Keine Renovierungen"-Regel: gebrochene und fehlende Fliesen, uralte Möbel, Schimmelflecken... Die Garden View Zimmer sind so gut wie unbewohnbar, außer man hat überhaupt keine Ansprüche, aber dann findet man sicher etwas vergleichbares für die Hälfte des Preises.

- G Ahmed (9/5): Beautiful sunny sea side villa - The room I booked (1st floor) is great. The sea / beach was clearly visible from the porch, among the coconut trees, with plenty of air flowing. Different rooms have different views, especially those on ground floor - so please check the room photos carefully before booking. The kitchen had all the essentials: cutlery, knives, spoons, forks, refrigerator, microwave, kettle, cooktop and plates. However, make sure you have your own cooking items such as oil, pepper and salt. You can easily buy it from a store nearby (5 mins drive). Bottled water was provided on the first day, and thereafter you can fill up the bottles from a common water dispenser. There is a common swimming pool area to lounge as well, but I did not use it. However, it was quite empty, so it is not a problem to find a free chair to relax in. It is best to have your own bike/scooter or a car, as this property is situated a bit away from nearby supermarkets, and walking is quite dangerous along the highway (though, on the first day I walked around 35 minutes x 2 (up and down)). Minor improvement point: Maybe a common washing machine would be great for laundry.

L’accueil et l’attention du personnel au top ( petite mention pour Ken qui a était adorable et de très bon conseil ) . La propreté : dans les commentaires certains disent que les douches ne sont pas totalement fonctionnelles , cela a été rectifié elles sont neuves et très propres . Le petit déjeuner est excellent . Nous reviendrons avec plaisir !!!!

- silviaheuer (8/5): Quiet retreat with space for reflection - but.. - I stayed 10 nights at The Ocean Residence, initially booking a Superior Longhouse Double Room but upgrading to a smaller pool-access room because the energy felt better. The upgrade was worth it – direct access to the water, reliable housekeeping, daily water refill, and the presence of sweet cats that made the stay feel softer and more personal. The property itself is large and quiet, almost with a “lost place” atmosphere. The location is secluded, which means peace and silence – perfect for those who seek retreat. As an author, I found the stillness deeply inspiring and actually completed an entire book here. For that, I am truly grateful. What could be improved: several facilities clearly need maintenance. Furniture was worn, pool tiles broken (posing a safety risk), and the abandoned restaurant area gave off an unfinished impression. There is no on-site dining except for a microwave and water dispenser – something travelers should know in advance. Also, bathrooms would benefit from lidded bins as a thoughtful detail, especially for women. During my last days, demolition work began on part of the property. While I could still hold my own energy, the noise would be challenging for more sensitive guests. In summary: The Ocean Residence is not polished, but it does offer calm, sunsets, and space for those who know how to create their own sanctuary. With more care in maintenance and detail, this place could shine again.

At first our room was in a rather gloomy place with a row of abandoned houses but thanks to the very helpful receptionist Ms. Ana who gave us another room option for the comfort of the family.

One of the workers was maintaining the property one morning, and kindly cut us two coconuts to drink from the tree by the room. There were other guests in the rooms near us, but the room was still very quiet. Felt very peaceful to stay there.
