- BiffaChristchurch (10/5): Vastly improved - Only stayed here for one night but it was my second time at this hotel. The last time was about 6 years ago. Check in staff were all excellent. Very friendly and nice welcoming drink. Room was nice pool view little on the basic side but that was fine. What was very good was the bathroom was a good size and plenty of hot water. Not that many bathrooms in Thailand have hot running water in the sink. But the biggest improvement in my opinion was the breakfast. When I’m in Thailand I only eat Asian food and the selection was brilliant I can’t comment on English food because I can have that every day of the year at home so why eat it on holiday. Would definitely recommend and I would stay longer next time.

The breakfast buffet featured an amazing coffee barista with uplifting music.
- bj_rnj124 (10/5): Worth a night or two - A nice and comfortable hotel in the city of Chumphon. Room with balcony and a wiew into to pool was beatiful. Good beds, good cleaning and helpful staff. The breakfast served as a buffe had all I needed for a good breakfast. And between hotel and railwaystation I found a magnificent bar/ pub with a lot of craft-beer on tap.

- Az0i (2/5): Not for me! - The hotel photographs do not show the hotel in its real light. In fact it is situated next to a market and the smells invade. I booke a “Delux” room which turned out to be a standard room. The curtains were stained and the sheets had a very worrying stain. Receptionist reluctantly moved us to another room Deluxe.room with a very noisy ac, hard pillow and dubious cleanliness. Breakfast was nice.
- Niklas (10/5): Hotel with an excellent pool - 2 days of relaxing in the pool-area. The place is kinda ”close to nowhere” but have a area of 1 restaurant and 1 bar. Breakfast is okey, 70% thaifood but they had a egg station which you could decide omelets or fried eggs.

- greatserpent (8/5): Decent hotel option in Chumphon. Some cons but for a short stay it would be fine. - I stayed for 1 night in Nov 2024. Pros: -shower is big. rain shower head is big. -bathroom sink bench space is large. -bench space along the wall of the room is large which you can put your luggage on easily. -hair dryer provided -tissue box provided with proper tissues. -adequate parking at the hotel -room size is large -wifi speed is decent. mobile speed tested at 20.4 mpbs (download) and 10.4 mpbs (upload). -breakfast is pretty good. they even catered to my intolerance to soy and dairy. Cons: -hot water didn't last too long. maybe 20 mins max. Then there was no hot water the next morning so i think something went wrong with the hot water system. -pillows are latex and too high, not soft/low enough and uncomfortable for my neck. -room lights are quite dim including the bathroom lights. -would be nice if they had a little tray to put the hand soap on. -bed mattress is a little worn and sinking slightly. Overall rating: 8.0/10
- Gartclashgirl (8/5): Good stopover hotel if travelling - Good stopover hotel if travelling. Stopped here for a night when travelling from Hua Hin to Koh Tao. Check in was good and rooms are fine, have all you need plus lots of storage. We had a pool view room which had great balcony unfortunately it rained heavily during our stay so didn’t get much use out of it. We arrived on a Sunday- not ideal as the restaurant was closed so we had to venture out for food. This is not a tourist area at all so it’s a little tricky to find good restaurants for westerners. We managed though and had good extremely cheap Thai food. There is a 711 round the corner so you can stock up there too. Breakfast was extremely Thai, lots of options on the buffet and various good coffees served too. Would only stay here as a stopover but it’s ideal for that.

- FAhonolulu (8/5): Good value hotel on the way to Koh Samui, Krabi and Phuket - We stayed one night on the way to Koh Samui from Cha-am and stayed on the way back also. Stayed larger room with balcony overlooking pool. Room is spacious and very clean. Bathroom comes with all amenities including free two bottles of water. Water pressure is strong. All staff at the reception, bell service and restaurant are friendly and good hospitality attitude. Nearby 7-11 is within 5 minutes walk. Highly recommend.

- juliapara (10/5): Nice venue with warm welcome - Arrived late after driving down from Bangkok. Welcome was very friendly with helpful security guard guiding to parking and taking overnight bags right to room. Was met with a refreshing welcome drink at reception who provided brief information. Venue is well set out and nice clean room with all amenities including free bottled water. Balcony room is great size and lovely to have morning coffee on the terrace with nice view of the pool.

- doingok37 (2/5): A-Te Chumphon Hotel overpriced and Shockley bad - Booked 3 night in this hotel and as Thailand I thought I would treat myself to a Executive Suite at 60 a night on Trip.com it was the worst mistake possible so got here after down by train from Hua Hin and was shown to my first room 413 this wasn’t in a good state at all so moved me to 414 this room looked ok and a nice size as it was a suit so dropped my stuff and went straight out, so getting ready to go to bed and all of a sudden a loud click then a loud humming noise so I called reception 2 very young staff come up and said this it the compressor on the roof how the hell is it so loud and you can here it anyway didn’t want to make a fuss as I was so tried so tried to sleep but every few minutes this compressor would start up so at 3am went to the reception and they most of know as give me a pool room next day they downgraded me in to a deluxe room second floor as again bedded don but the aircon didn’t work so this is the second night without a sleep and yes you can here the compressor but not has bad so complaint again and was giving the Presidential Suite so out of 3 nights stay I slept 1 night making my stay and last day very hard due just being so tried. This hotel can be good be lack of maintenance and the whole top floor you can hear this compressor turn on and even in the breakfast room so will I come back to this hotel no way this they better and cheaper hotel in Chumphon yes for sure. do not trust teh ratings thats for sure. I did do videos but my phone didnt pick the compressor up good.

Ein richtig gutes Wohlfühl Hotel vom Zimmer, dem Bad, Bett bis hin zum Frühstück. Zum Schluss noch ein wunderbaren Lächeln beim Auschecken. Danke !

- Thaiowl1963 (8/5): Fine for a couple of nights - Stayed for 2 nights. Old-ish hotel but room was fine, Internet seamless, bathroom good. Staff very pleasant. Breakfast was surprisingly good for a Thai provincial hotel…the usual dodgy sausages/ham but the Asian offerings were pretty good. They had a barista making coffee to order, which was a first for me. The pool area was very pleasant. Big car park and the hotel is in town, right opposite a large market area. Recommended…would stay here again.

A clean and tidy room and a breakfast that in New Zealand would cost more than the 1 night stay!! . Friendly staff and it’s all right in the middle on Chumphon city so it’s close to night markets and amazing street food. Nice pool area with lots of shade. Perfect for a brief stopover for 1 or 2 nights.We have stayed in multiple hotels in Chumphon over the years and this is the best so far
- AxelWinter952 (6/5): Great transit hotel - We used it on the way from Bangkok to Krabi by our car. Its in down town, clean rooms, and good service. 3-4 min by car to the Starbucks, where we had breakfast. Facilities are good, practical, clean, and room has a good bath and good space.

- 422charlesh (6/5): Good for transit travel - We stayed two nights while exploring the local area. We paid a little extra to get suites which are on the top floor, and I think it was worth it it for extra space and better view. It was very quiet and peaceful in the rooms, and we barely saw or heard another guest. So breakfast was a surprise as it was packed each morning with tour groups, who are perhaps accommodated on the lower floors. Nevertheless breakfast was well managed with fresh coffee on request. There is a small swimming pool, and I did see people happily swimming in it in the mornings although the green colour of the water was discouraging to us. There is no food in the hotel in the evening, but there is a night market nearby with many food stalls.
- sharonenchris (10/5): A good stay - At first glance we thought, “Oh no, this hotel is quite old” but it was actually still very much ok. Even though it is not a young hotel, the rooms, pool & breakfast area where very well maintained and clean. The breakfast buffet was scrumptious, the staff very friendly and the rooms where soundproof. A perfect hotel for a stopover to go to Phuket, Samui, Khao lak, etc…

- 894moozap (2/5): Dirty rooms - Stay in A-Te Chumphon for 1 night. Check-in was fast. Front Office is not so friendly. Room is in bad conditions. I open to check pillows and all pillows are yellow and dirty with stains inside. Such a terrible thing. TV was dirty and a lot of dust under. Like it was never cleaned. Basic things are missing. I don't think that Management care. I have attached photos of stay. Breakfast was so so. Nothing special. Eggs and sausage. Staff don't know how to make double shot of espresso. Butter kept not on ice. So training is missing. Will not stay anymore. It is 2 star hotel
- Explore24914084524 (6/5): All you need - On our road trip day 3 to Chiang Rai. A-Te is a good solid hotel with nice modern rooms and good service. The pool was closed though maybe due to Covid. They did well providing a breakfast buffet where we had to use plastic gloves. Order 2 eggs sunny up for me and turned over for my wife. Both significantly overcooked unfortunately But all in all a good average hotel you won’t go wrong booking.

- STEFAN (10/5): One night in Chumpon - The hotel has a good location for people making a stop between going or coming from the islands, because the trainstation is close to the hotel and they even drive you there for free. The room was clean and big enough, with a decent rainshower and enough hot water. The hotel has a pool and at night there are some activities around the trainstation and the mainstreet. The hotel offers a pretty good buffet breakfast for 150thb. Will stay at this hotel again!

Personalen var trevlig men var bara i princip receptionen som kunde lite engelska. Staden i sig verkar inte vara vana vid västerländska turister då det var väldigt svårt att hitta någon som kunde engelska eller restauranger som hade engelsk meny. Ska ni bara övernatta en natt eller två är A-TE ett prisvärt alternativ men jag hade inte stannat mer än det i staden.

- Laurel (10/5): Great hotel - We stayed three nights at A-Te hotel. Staff was very nice and helpful. Room big bright and clean with many nice amenities such as robes and slippers. Bed Asian ‘comfortable’, but pillows quite hard. Beautiful pool and good breakfast with fresh coffee. The area of town did not have much for tourists to do so we mostly just hung out at pool which is fine for us. Hotel took us to airport for 700 baht (not sure if this a fair price but was very convenient).
- Jane (10/5): An Oasis In Chumphon - We stayed 3 nights at the A-Te Chumphon Hotel in late May - pool view room, 3rd floor. A lovely place - the staff are terrific, it's spotlessly clean, comfortable, modern and has a great swimming pool - an oasis in the middle of town. The breakfast is a good with a selection of Thai & western style foods from fresh fruit through to omelettes, salads, rice soups, savoury dishes, pastries, toast, cereal and Thai sweets. Plus fresh coffee, teas & juices. We had a dental emergency occur just before we were to head to Krabi and the wonderful Khun Gai called a dentist there and arranged an appointment for us for as soon as we arrived. She and all the team at the hotel were so helpful and welcoming during our stay. We loved the small touches - for example the standard 2 bottles of drinking water that are usually provided were glass refillable and not single-use plastic. The hotel also runs an excellent onsite restaurant - Prikhorm - super tasty fresh food. If you like your Thai food spicy then just let them know when you order. The sign out the front says A-Te is a "Relaxury Hotel" - we completely agree!

- yuwalak (2/5): Old and not nice and SO EXPENSIVE ROOM in chumporn - Hotel is getting worn out, staff cannot manage when we came so late and tired. The area is surrounded by old and scary building. It lokks so scary in the nigh time and crowded with market in the morning. Some part of area is old and worn out. We came to late check in and my friend found that her booking is not the right spect that she bokked. Room is not so clean and Room rrate is super expensive. They charged us about 1800 thb per night which the room and service is equal to 900 thb room. I definitely not stay at this place anymore. Poor hospitality and expensive
- eric (10/5): Un bel hotel bien équipé bien situé ou il fait bon - Situé dans le centre de Chumphon à quelques centaines de mètres de la gare il est à l’arrière d'un grand parking.Les chambres sont très bien équipées et spacieuses l’équipement est complet coffre fort, sèche cheveux,TV écran plat,très grand lit ,bref on est bien .L’hôtel dispose aussi d'une jolie piscine et le petit déjeuner servi sous la forme d'un buffet est complet.Enfin le personnel et efficace et discret .Un excellent rapport qualité prix .Une étape à conseiller.

- Laura (10/5): Great for a Quick Layover - The hotel is setback from the road, providing quiet from the hustle and bustle of the market next door. Staff is very friendly and wifi was good but unsecured. Breakfast had a wide selection to choose from and was tasty. Be cautious in your room as the floor was very slippery from polishing. Nice hot water in the shower and comfy bed. They tried charging us for the room upon exit, and we had to remind them that we already paid in full at time of booking online, but the situation was quickly resolved. Overall a great 1 night stay for a layover heading from Bangkok to Koh Tao.
- Glynn (8/5): Great stay - Stayed here for one night, pleasantly surprised, great staff (manager spoke reasonable English) and large room. 10 min walk or 100 baht taxi ride from train station. Bed was UK super king (6ft wide) but a bit hard and uncomfortable. Quiet room which was good. Pool was nice , but in shade after 4.30 pm. Included breakfast was better than expected, egg bar and good selection. Good WiFi in all areas of the hotel. 👍 Went to affiliated restaurants (Prikhorm) opposite side of the car park for evening meal, very nice Thai food and reasonably priced. Would stay again if in the area.

- Jane (10/5): Brief but nice stay in Chumpon - We stayed overnight on our way to Koh Tao. The hotel is set back in an area that you might think looks a bit run down but it was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made our stay easy. We ate at the Prickhorm Restaurant a few metres away which was so funny. Loud decor and karaoke night for locals I think. Food was good. The pool looked very clean but we didn't get a chance to try it.

- joch (10/5): Great short stay - We have stayed in A-Te for one night. From the moment we arrived to the end of our stay, the staff made every effort to make sure we are comfortable and get everything we need. The pool is nice, the rooms spacious and clean, breakfast is not bad but nothing to write home about. The weather was lousy, but we still managed to enjoy our short stay in Chumphon thanks to the warm welcome of the A-Te hotel and its staff.

Nice pool and massage. The only down side is that the breakfast options are very limited for a min Thai food eater and the staff has basic knowledge of English. In spite of that they were very helpful in booking things. The snorkelling trip was a disappointment. It was too windy and the location barely had fish to see. The small huts on the islands were a sensation though
- Gemma (10/5): Would recommend - Lovely hotel. Good location for walk round Chumphon and not far from train station. Is walkable even with big bags (with a little break!). No issue checking in at 11. Breakfast was good with choice of eggs. The only bad thing was the hardness of the bed and pillow, and water was on the cool side. We would stay here again.

- LEE (6/5): Budget hotel but clean - The room considered Ok as we can't expect much for this small town. Breakfast not many choice but good especially the coffee. I think their coffee is famous cause they sell the coffee powder.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Staff - Nice Open Reception Area - This was just a brief stop for us, in late afternoon and out very early. The staff here did everything to make the transition as seamless as possible for us. That included booking our fact ferry and sending us on our way with a packed breakfast.
