Guest Reviews
- Lucy (8/5): Very pleasant stay on Scottish Borders - It was a lovely hotel with very friendly staff. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and flexible.
The room was comfortable. It was well located. Glass bottles in a packed lunch on the Pennine way were challenging- in these circumstances plastic would be better.
- Karen (10/5): An amazingly comfortable dog friendly hotel with great food. - Great location. We had dogs with us and there is a lovely woodland walk behind the hotel (away from the main road). The staff were all helpful and very kind to our two dogs. The room was very clean and comfortable. For us, the bed was a little too soft but we like a firm bed which isn't to everyone's taste. Overall and excellent hotel with great homemade food. Will definitely stay there again enroute to Scotland. For us the bed was a little to soft.
- Sue (10/5): Quiet and comfortable - It was clean and fresh, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and fresh. Nothing
- June (10/5): An excellent place to stay - Everything was excellent Nothing
- Tony (9/5): Great location, friendly staff and fantastic food - definitely going to stay again -
Niets
- Tom (9/5): - Staff very friendly and efficient meals at reasonable price proving quality food. . Good selection of drinks at very competitive pricesThe room we had was large and comfortable. A starlift was available and used by my wife who has mobility problems. Nothing
- Sarah (10/5): Lovely room and great food. Highly recommended - Everything
- James (8/5): -
- Robinson (10/5): - Rooms very clean and comfortable. Good breakfast Car park loose gravel and uneven. Travelled by motorcycle so had to be especially careful
- Martin (8/5): -
- Richard T (7/5): Overnight stop on route to our Scottish motorcycle rally. - Great choice well presented. Stopped here a few times before and enjoyed the local cask real ale.
Not available on this visit and only 3 Newcastle brown ales in the fridge.overnight
- steven (10/5): Very helpful staff - Location N/a
- Simon (8/5): -
- Anthony (8/5): - Staff were extremely welcoming and helpful.
The room was a decent size, with a view across the valley.
The cafe attached served great coffee and had a nice selection of cakes. The breakfast was not great. The avocado appeared to have been frozen and the defrosted.
We were the only guests at breakfast and most of the cooked breakfast appeared to have been pre-cooked and then heated up in the microwave.
- James (10/5): Great colleagues looked after me from phone contact en route to hotel to breakfast in morning - Great location fantastic staff and the room was superb..
Really hospitable service and felt valued as a visitor.
- Simon (9/5): Comfortable Inn great for travellers - We were travelling from England into Scotland and the Redesdale Arms is on the A68, so very convenient. Our room was nicely decorated and very comfortable and although we didn't have an evening meal the food looked and smelled lovely. We had a drink in the small bar and were very pleased that they stocked Gluten Free beer in bottles. Our breakfast was good and catered well for Gluten Free. The staff were friendly and helpful. There wasn't anything we didn't like and it suited us very well.
- Susan (9/5): - Food was of a good standard.
Room nicely furnished and well equipped, warm welcome and everything we needed.
- colin (8/5): Loved it on my list for a return. - The staff were great , the room was spotless , the food was lovely so peaceful and quiet, just lovely to switch off and read a good book. the seats in the room but to be fair I don't think they where meant to be sat in as long as I did reading.
- Paige (10/5): Perfect stay in every way possible. - What an absolute beautiful place. From
Scenery to the staff. Not one fault at all. It was so comfortable in the room. The staff made you feel comfortable being around. I wish we stayed longer. But we are booking up again for the summer. My 6 year old loved every minute of being there. The little Easter egg hunt put such a smile on his face. The food was just the cherry on top. Proper home made meals and lovely deserts. Thankyou for an incredible stay. Nothing
- Delia (8/5): - A really great stay and superb value for money. Lovely room and great staff. Dry friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really nice. Would definitely recommend and I hear that during the day there’s a lovely cafe too. Nothing at all.
- Dewi (9/5): - Pleasant staff, welcoming. Rooms clean and beds comfy. Lovely food.
- rob (8/5): -
- Greg (9/5): -
- Glyn (8/5): Lovely comfortable country retreat. - I've given a 10 for location as we go shooting in the area, the area is actually quite desolate. Amazing stars on a clear night as the location is so remote. Nothing to complain about, its suits our needs perfectly.
- Chris (10/5): Will be back - Fabulous location , great food, staff friendly Nothing
- Louise (10/5): Stayed two night to attend a family wedding. The rooms were nice & comfortable & the food was lovely & staff - Very clean. Friendly staff. The rooms & food were lovely. N/a

- MARY (9/5): - Lovely position. The staff and owners were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and very well presented. The breakfast choice was excellent and cooked beautifully. The evening meal was also excellent. The room was on the first floor and there was no lift but the staircase was very wide and not too many steps. The room was too warm by evening but we were able to open the window to cool down.
- Andrew (9/5): Wonderful hotel, excellent staff and team, fab stay. - Hearty, delicious and generous food. Comfy warm room, fabulous location… clear starlight night. N/a
- wendy0805 (10/5): Our stay exceeded expectations and was very good value for money. - The breakfast was excellent — generous portions and a better selection than many mid-range hotels.
The service was outstanding, and the staff were always happy to help with anything we needed.
The location is excellent — a perfect first stop when arriving in and leaving England.
- Ian (10/5): An unbeatable place for an unbeatable price! - The breakfast was Brilliant. All of our evening meals were superb. The Staff were all amazing. The Accommodation was immaculate. We were treated like royalty whilst we were there. Will definitely be returning for another visit in the near future. I could not fault anything about our stay at The Redesdale Arms. A million thanks to everyone involved. Absolutely nothing. Everything was faultless.

- Deborah (9/5): Great location, fabulous food, real gem of a place - Great location for touring. Spacious rooms comfy bed and loads of hot water. Brakfast and dinner menu were very good. Very friendly staff. Didn't not like anything. It would have been good if we could have stayed in the bar a bit later.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Would stay again and recommend to others! - Lovely rooms, very clean and good modern decor. Fabulous breakfast included in the price. Lovely friendly staff. Shower water pressure was a bit weak.
- William (9/5): Great stop, great staff, great food! - Wonderful little stop on our trip! The only thing that wasn't "top marks" was b/c there was no AC, but we knew that going in. The room was clean and the staff was WONDERFUL. The breakfast was also spectacular for a free meal with the room stay. Highly recommend.
- Paul (10/5): - Excellent food Nothing
- James (9/5): -
- Aimee (9/5): - Food in the restaurant was fantastic and staff were very friendly Room was above the bar which would have been fine but we had a 4 year old with us so it was a bit noisy trying to get him to sleep. However if it was just us it wouldn't have been an issue.
- THOMAS (10/5): Good food, nice warm room and very helpful staff, what more could a visitor possibly want. - This was my 2nd stay at the Redesdale Arms which is located in a beautiful, slightly remote part of the English countryside that I will never tire of visiting. The staff are warm, friendly and very helpful and the food is wonderful. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. There was nothing in my visit that would cause me to think that I won't visit again.

- Lee (10/5): Really pleasant place to stay , couldn’t do enough for you , well done to everyone there fair play 👏👏 - Everything very well presented comfy and clean
- Amelie (7/5): - Giant, wheelchair-accessible room and bathroom, very clean, easy and short walking in the woods behind hotel. Quiet, despite being located on A68. Not great as a Pennine Way stopover, very challenging to reach without a taxi. Food was "okay" as compared to other meals from other hotels and B&B's on this trip, reminded me of eating at a hospital cafeteria or retirement home, vegetables were steamed and unseasoned, main dishes were mainly brown and salty. My partner had no complaints and other diners seemed quite content.
- Julian (10/5): Good location and friendly service - Excellent value and friendly Nothing. All was good
- Ken (9/5): A great place to stop, eat and sleep. - Super friendly staff, good food, great location!

- Carson (9/5): - Great location. Lovely quiet room at back of property. Friendly staff Bathroom extractor didn't work. Cooked breakfast wasn't very hot
- Robert (10/5): -
- Hugh (9/5): Well above expectations. - On arrival we were met by a young lady who was extremely friendly and very polite, she checked us in and offered to help us with our luggage. She said if we had any problems please contact her. When we went to the bar she checked that everything was okay. We had our evening meal in the restaurant and the food and service were excellent, as was breakfast. We were so pleased that we have booked for our return journey to Scotland. Nothing .
- SueandDave (9/5): Great stay - Comfortable, clean and very friendly and efficient staff. Family run business and it shows in the attention to detail and to the needs of all guests. Early breakfast but we survived! A few comfy chairs for residents use would be great.
- Carol (10/5): Perfect! - Carl, Jill & all the team are marvellous. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent choice for breakfast & evening meals. First class service. Would highly recommend.
- Helen (10/5): Fantastic hotel great staff - Lovely hotel. Great food and friendly staff. Loved it so much going back for the dark skies experience in October Nothing
- Paul (8/5): Overall a good hotel with friendly staff - The hotel is in an ideal location to explore the local area, in my case Kielder Forest. My motorcycle was parked safely overnight. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good. The staff are friendly. The shower was not great. Second night evening meal (lamb) disappointing.
- Peter (8/5): -
- James (10/5): A really nice friendly, comfortable hotel with good food. I hope to come again next year. - The early breakfast tray was much appreciated as was the full breakfast I had on the Sunday. The room was clean and comfortable and was checked over on Day 2, towels changed etc which was great. The food was very good. Nothing
- Sally (10/5): - Amazingly sweet and generous people.
Excellent food for breakfast and in the pub. Very comfortable, well decorated room with beautiful view.
- Beatrice (8/5): Buon soggiorno!

- Hutchinson (9/5): Comfortable relaxed hotel - Fantastic location friendly welcome great views
- Lynsey (10/5): Amazing stay - We had a brilliant stay. The Redesdale Arms is in a great location with beautiful views, and plenty parking. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, in fact, they couldnt have done more, so attentive, even to our pooch who was treated like a king. We had a lovely room which was spacious and had great facilities, everything was spotless. We had such a pretty view from our room, even the rain didnt spoil it. We had an evening meal, the food was delicious, great menu options, even had a gluten free, vegan and vegetarian menu. Breakfast was top notch, lots of options, continental, cooked and even a takeaway option for people up and out early. My husband made sure he got his Nothumbrian Breakfast which he loved and the dog got his own sausage. They even offered a takeaway lunch bag which we didn't have but I thought was an excellent idea for those out walking all day.
- Stuart (9/5): Great stay. - A wonderful night, great evening meal, good nights sleep and a good breakfast Perhaps the beans and mushrooms at breakfast could have been warmer.
- Glenn (10/5): Overnight stay while doing the Northumberland 250, have marked as a favourite for next visit north. - What a charming place, fantastic views, welcoming staff. Good size room and a very comfortable bed. Both evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Good sized free parking and very secure for our motorbikes. Having to leave
- Vanessa (10/5): Everyone who worked there were really pleasant and cheerful. The place was very good value for money - Breakfast choice and portions were amazing and very generous I felt . Also lunch in the pub and the chips were the tastiest I've had in a long time ! In Bedroom 9 there was a humming or continual suction noise , maybe coming from the bathroom so I had no sleep at all, due to being very aware of it. The 2nd night I slept a bit better due to being so tired
- Davies (9/5): -
