Guest Reviews
- Erik (8/5): Hotel with character and easy parking - Great old building. Very convenient parking. Spacious room. Nice balcony. Self serve instructions for breakfast could have been a bit clearer.
- Julie (9/5): -
- Lydia (9/5): -
- Barnaby S (8/5): Comfortable and convenient. - This was our second stay in room 7 and all was fine.
- Barnaby S (8/5): Comfortable and convenient. - Room 7 was spacious and quiet. The ability to have a relatively early breakfast was useful for us on some days. The off-road parking was good. Don't expect any personal service - everything went well for us but we didn't see any staff at all.
- Wendy (10/5): Breakfast available daily and rooms are excellent. - Located in a nice area & close to Convention Centre. Nil
- MARTA (10/5): Old style charm - Spacious, comfortable and warm room, very good self service breakfast and easy kitchen access.
- sally (10/5): Excellent - It was comfortable, homely, clean, great location , loved the house and it’s antiquity and loved the little rabbit roaming around garden, host was friendly and welcoming , we came back day earlier then expected and rebooked , fully recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Hobart Nothing
- A (8/5): Comfortable, spacious, quiet (upstairs), short drive to central Hobart for dining options - Free parking, breakfast provided, room a good size, upstairs away from entry so it was quiet Would like electric blanket, room felt dark
- sally (10/5): Fantastic - Convenient, clean and spacious, quiet and just feeling that we were in a comfortable space Nothing really
- Hans (10/5): A Gem - Just a 20 minute walk to Salamanca Markets and the harbour. Great selection of restaurants within 5 minutes walk.
Our hostess was fantastic.....so bubbly and what a great ambassador for Tasmania with her local knowledge.
Enjoyed the evening complimentary Port in the comfortable lounge chatting with fellow travellers. Nothing
- Wendy (9/5): Room clean & continental breakfast was good. - Liked the upstairs room with double bed & breakfast.
Easy walk to Convention centre & close to nearby places near Hobart. Our front key would not let us in the front door.
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Suzanne (9/5): - Beautiful house. Great breakfast helpful staff and close to activities and restaurants Shower pressure quite low
- Monica (8/5): Awesome - Breakfast
- Greg (9/5): - Check in was easy. Light breakfast was handy, very clean room and facilities. Great location. Lounge chairs in the room where a little uncomfortable.
- sandra (10/5): - Everything!
- Roger (8/5): If you want to stay in Hobart, but in something other than a chain hotel, worth a consideration. - Clean quiet room, updated bathroom with good wifi. Continental breakfast was self serve, but more than acceptable. A number of restaurants within walking distance. Parking onsite. Would stay in a room at the back, some road noise. Cold when we were there and heater was surprisingly noisy.
- James (10/5): -
- MADELEINE (10/5): -
- Gary (8/5): - Nice period style accommodation big rooms well furnished. Is on a busy road
- Alex (9/5): Great historic property, comfortable and clean. - Beautiful property full of history. Plenty of off street parking.
- Micheal (9/5): Loved our stay at the Manor - Terrific boutique hotel. Comfortable beds, helpful staff, easy parking and a pretty good location (only one issue, see below and there's not much that the establishment could do about that). All requests were greeted with a genuine intent to resolve the question asked. Had the misfortune to have booked in for the night before the Hobart marathon which involved the road at the front being closed for the entire morning. We parked across the road and down a side street, but for those with mobility issues this was not a practicable solution. Local constabulary and event organisers were unable to assist but the establishment provided a late checkout which was a comfort for those concerned.
- Richard (10/5): Just suits us fine - we stay regularly it's our preferred choice in Hobart nothing to dislike
- Michael (10/5): -
- Perry (9/5): Lovely place. Very convenient for public transport -
- Philip (8/5): A wonderful heritage accommodation experience in a convenient location. - A lovely old heritage building. Location was handy and guest parking was great. Amenities were fine and the complimentary continental breakfast was more than adequate. Noisy flooring in our room...and road noise from traffic on the main road next to the property..
- Lynn (9/5): -
- lyn (9/5): Happy! - Loved the heritage features that were incorporated with modern facilities.
Loved the breakfast - great fresh bread and good orange juice. The lightbulbs were very dim - the rooms seem gloomy and don’t reflect their heritage features as well as they might. The light fittings themselves are fine - it’s just the bulbs that need to be brighter
- Anindita (9/5): Had a pleasant stay. - Property is centrally located and maintained very well.
- Alexandru (8/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): Convenient, comfortable and welcoming. - Breakfast is a bonus.
- Peter (9/5): -
- Narelle (9/5): - How close it was to things. CBD
- Graham (10/5): This fabulous place is on my return list - Fabulous location with access to kitchen if needed. Good breakfast
- Jean (10/5): -
- Lynn (8/5): Comfortable stay close to town - Large rooms, good parking, great breakfast, good location. Fan in bathroom of Room 2 intermittently goes off balance and has to be turned off. Needs attention.
- Debbie (10/5): Excellent stay and would definitely stay there again. - Very comfortable and quiet with plenty of room to park. Very roomy, huge bedrooms, clean and a lovely, cozy sitting room on the main floor. Well stocked kitchen with continental breakfast. Very friendly staff. That there is a shared bathroom in the upstairs suite, which the person(s) staying in the second bedroom across the hall from the main suite, has to walk through the suite and past the main bedroom to get to the bathroom. The door to the main bedroom is a french door with glass panes, which light comes through in the night if someone is walking through to use the bathroom. Perhaps a curtain or blind could be installed on that French bedroom door.
- 斎藤 (8/5): Great! - 1800年代の建物がすばらしかった。
市の中心地まで歩ける距離にありながら、住宅街なので落ち着いた雰囲気がよかった。 朝食にもう少しvarietyがほしかった。
部屋が寒かった。
- Lynn (10/5): Close to town - Good parking. Nice breakfast. Large room. N/A

- TONEILLE (9/5): Gorgeous old style rooms. Very cozy - Old style rooms. Location . Hospitality. Little bit of noise.
- Lynn (8/5): -
- Anne (9/5): Good place to stay to enjoy the history of Hobart accommodation. - Clean & spacious rooms. Easy check in. Generous breakfast. Great location. All good.
- Nikolas Moore (9/5): Good value, enjoyable stay. - I liked the layout of the manor. My room was cosy and dark. It was nice to not have to worry about getting my own breakfast. I also appreciated the historic value. It was quiet despite being on a main road. The only real issue was a beep every 15 minutes, which was due to an NBN device and was happily fixed within a day of me having reported it.
- Julie (9/5): -
- Tracy (10/5): Lovely stay - Very comfortable and large bed
Enormous spa bath (it took ages to fill)
Lovely private patio where we met the owner pruning the rose bushes 🥰
Friendly and helpful staff
Adequate breakfast
Useful to have a kitchen which we used for baked potatoes one evening
Close to a delicious ice cream cafe
Enjoyed our stay
Use of lounge in the evening We could hear people talking loudly in the mornings going to breakfast from room 4. A notice asking for quiet would be helpful.
- jolanda (10/5): - Prachtige ruime kamer. Sfeervol ingericht. Vriendelijke gastheer. Zalige verse vruchten salade. Niets
- Mark (8/5): Very happy with the Manor . Enjoyed a complimentary port. Location great room very good and friendly helpful staff!! - Great location. Good size room and value for money. All good
- Veronica (9/5): Old style beauty and charm with lovely rooms and a perfect continental breakfast - Beautiful old building
Stunning gardens
The feel of it
Proximity to everything

Cleanliness
- Donna (9/5): - The Manor was just as described but better Linda the only staff member was exceptional She was friendly and helpful All the guests loved and appreciated her help and advise She had everything organized and nothing was too much trouble
I loved the fabulous garden would have loved to have had the time to relax out there!!
Lots of eateries and supermarket in walking distance
Would love to stay again. I would love to stay longer next time!!!
- Thomas (10/5): - Comfortable bed, great location, friendly and helpful staff, character of the building
- Mark (9/5): Comfortable elegance - Old style charm. Very homely feel. Close to the shops. My wife said the stairs. More power points would have been handy, but I get that it would be difficult to achieve in such an old building.
- Gardner (8/5): - The room was just as it was described, just lovely. It was only a 20 min walk to the marina. Everything was lovely.
- Kirstein (9/5): A lovely place to stay in a great location with plenty of home comforts provided. - Lovely old building, great breakfast and friendly staff. I didn’t get the door code prior to arrival so getting in was difficult.
- Jory (9/5): -
- CArol (10/5): - Everything. The apartment was spacious, well fitted out and so comfortable. Nothing at all
- rob (9/5): - Great value. Good location and spacious room. Comfort and class.
- julie (8/5): Great breakfast set up and great location - The location was perfect Had a lot of dust on the blinds
- Christine (8/5): -
- Robyn (10/5): A gorgeous heritage house which is very central for activities in Hobart. - The room was very comfortable and the house was gorgeous. No heating in the room
- Sandra (8/5): -
- Anita (8/5): -
- Sharon (8/5): Comfortable room, good location a short drive from central Hobart - Beautiful period property, large room Nothing
- Katherine (10/5): We spent 2 perfect nights in this spacious and very comfortable property. Loved it! - I loved the heritage building that is beautiful but still updated and clean. The breakfast was just what we needed and the coffee excellent in a lovely breakfast room.
We even sat in the back garden and had a glass of wine in the afternoon. There is nothing we didn’t like.
- Carole (9/5): One night stay in Sandy Bay, Hobart - Comfortable one night stay in lovely manor house. Lots of parking space, pretty garden and cosy shared lounge to sit in, spacious room (we had room 2). Simple self check-in and check-out. Few minutes walk from Sandy Bay and shops. Lovely friendly lady to direct with help yourself breakfast. Nothing to fault. It’s on a main road but we didn’t notice the traffic as the house is set back a bit from the road.
- Elena (10/5): -
- Helle (8/5): Behageligt ophold - Værelset var stort og hyggeligt. Meget hjælpsomt personale
- KIM (9/5): Lovely heritage style accommodation, very clean and comfortable. - Our first day for breakfast was a bit confusing as nothing was laid out, it was all in the fridge in the kitchen.
Other guests were just helping themselves out of the fridge, there was no staff to guide us.
On the second day, everything was laid out in the dining room which we are used to so maybe a staff member was just absent on the day- it didn’t matter as there was no shortage of cereal, toast, fruit and yoghurt- all lovely!
- Brian (8/5): Convenient overnighter on Sandy Bay Road. - Breakfast and its location was excellent. The bedroom felt like a lounge, which is what it was originally.
- Brigitte (8/5): - Good location, breakfast included No fresh fruit available at breakfast
- Emeka Ordu (9/5): - Everything Nothing
- Susan (7/5): - Lovely old characterful house Needs a freshen up, a little shabby in places. A bit more effort could be made with breakfast. Happy to be self serve, but thought it was inappropriate and lazy on the part of the hotel that guests had to go in the kitchen to make drinks and get orange juice and yogurt from the fridge .
- Stephen (10/5): GREAT FIND - From arrival to departure - all excellent 👌
- Suma (10/5): What a beautiful place to be. - Generous and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast and the beautiful atmosphere is second to none. The power box door is busted. It’s such a lovely building. It needs to be fixed for aesthetics and so it’s not swinging in the wind. I tried to close it.
- Lynda (10/5): -
- Alina (8/5): -
- Anne-Marie (6/5): Expensive for what we thought we were booking. - Beds great. Linda was friendly and helpful. We booked a two bedroom apartment. On checking in we discovered that it was a one bedroom one bathroom apartment and the second bedroom was across the hallway with another locked door. It was inconvenient for the person in that apartment as they had to use the key through the night to come into the apartment with the toilet. Waking those in that apartment on entering. The fire exit door lock was broken not shutting which meant the whole building was accessible to whom ever wanted to enter off the street. That one room is on the main road and very noisy.

- Marta (8/5): -
- Neil (9/5): -
- Nic (10/5): -
- Vanessa (10/5): I highly recommend this property. - A stately old home beautifully renovated. The room was cozy and the extra inclusions made the stay special. Onsite parking was a bonus. The property was fully booked but we didn’t hear any noise until everyone appeared at breakfast and we were surprised. There was nothing I didn’t like.
- Annette (7/5): - Comfortable bed, nice and quiet. Beautifully kept building and grounds. Staff very nice. No power point near the bed.
- CatFelmingham (7/5): Comfortable and homely. - Comfortable accommodation with everything I needed in one space. No complaints at all
- Mitchell (8/5): Clydesdale Manor Stay - We liked: location, how quiet it was, the staff member was very helpful, funny and kind. The room was decorated nice and the bathroom had a modern feel to it. We disliked: the reason we booked was because breakfast was included, however, the breakfast seemed a bit too simple and didn't highlight any local produce, bread, or coffee. Which we thought would have been a nice touch to highlight what Tasmania has to offer.
We also disliked that there was no way of opening up the windows for fresh air so it felt stuffy at times. The air-conditioning also had a very annoying humming sound when used. The front door lock continuously beeped every 30mins to an hour and beeped all night long.
We also noticed a bit of dust under the bed, on the mantel, on the blinds etc. As much as everything seemed clean on the surface, a deeper clean would have been appreciated.
Lastly, the bed was uncomfortable due to how hard/firm it was.
- Riana (9/5): - Walking distance to the city centre/food/attractions. Room was large, clean and comfortable. The staff member I met was lovely. Photos and description of the manor match perfectly. Nothing - Met all expectations
- Paul (10/5): Wonderful stay felt more like an old-style bed and breakfast - Amazingly restored 19th Century home. Large room and beautiful common lounge room. Continental breakfast included. Port and chokies in the loungeroom nice touch. You can see owners have gone to a lot of trouble because they fell in love with the property. Great value fair price too. Double glazed front windows on main street made for super quiet sleep. Nothing at all.
- Hansjürg (7/5): - Etwas in die Jahre gekommen
- Hsiuchen (4/5): - 地點離週末市場很近 跟別人共用浴室
- Christine (10/5): - Wunderschönes Hotel, tolles Frühstück, kostenlose Waschmaschine, gratis Portwein 🙂
- Tim (10/5): -
- Zeta (9/5): Enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, historical building - Old world charm, convenient, spacious. Friendly staff and good breakfast.
- Clare (10/5): -
- Sarah (9/5): - A beautiful old house with loads of character. We loved being close enough to walk into the city.
