- julcesaraval91 (2/5): Terrible and disappointing experience - Horrible experience! They scam you and make you think it’s really five stars when it’s clearly not at all. Customer service is terrible, especially one of the waitresses was rude to my sister and mom without any reason. Also, the food wasn’t that great and they ran out of butter and some basic things. It’s not terrible per se but it’s not a hotel that deserves five stars as they label themselves. Plus, the receptionists told us the first day, “we have available cars, don’t worry”. Then, the next day, “sorry but we have no cars until Wednesday” it was a Sunday). And on their pictures they put the beach as a wonder and it said “you can access to the beach directly from our hotel”. That’s a lie! It’s next to the beach but not directly on it. First, you have to leave the hotel through a door and then, the beach isn’t white-sanded and the water isn’t blue at all, like “Cancun water”. But in the pictures on booking, they put it as the best and the bluest water and the best hotel. So, definitely it’s sad how they trick people and then, they don’t give a good customer service. Please stay away from this hotel. Plus, there’s nothing around, no stores no nothing.

We ordered drinks that came in PLASTIC CUPS like you give a child, not transparent hard plastic. The first round tasted like nothing we'd ordered, when the 2nd round finally showed up the waiter explained that the whole bar only had 4 regular plastic cups, per new management. He took out order and then came back and told us he was leaving, but that he had passed our orders onto the next waiter. We tipped him, he left. We waited over a half an hour and never got any food, we got up and walked into the restaurant, looking for anyone who worked there, there was no one around. We waited about another 20 minutes and got up and left.

- Scenic285829 (8/5): Nice hotel, but not much to do. Good for relaxing - The hotel looks just like the pictures. It's right on the water. The surrounding town is just okay. We were able to walk to the grocery store everyday which was a plus. The hotel was completely empty. It would be an awesome place if you wanted to host a private party with 48 of your best friends. But unfortunately, when we were there it was relatively empty. So the good news was that we had the pool area to ourselves, but the bad news is that it was pretty boring. The pool was toasty warm lol. But the weather was blazing hot. So if you're looking for something exciting, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for something private , quiet, mellow, it might be nice for you. No music at the pool. Nothing. We are used to going to Cabo so this was our first time in La Paz. I will say that the fish tacos were a 10 out of 10 and we had them almost every night for dinner. The prices of beer were okay but the wine was American price. $12 a glass. So we stocked up at the grocery store and kept it in our fridge. We took a taxi to the malecon one day, which was very pretty on the boardwalk side, but the other side was kind of dirty. We had lunch at one of the local restaurants and we were not impressed. We were basically ignored. Nice place to stay. The beds were comfortable. Oh by the way there is absolutely no American TV. So there was nothing to do after dark, other than go to bed. Again I would suggest bringing some of your friends or family and you guys would have an awesome vacation here. But don't expect to be entertained. It was also blazing hot and very humid but that was because of the time of year we went. We did not explore the nightlife downtown because the cab rides were actually much more expensive than advertised. It was $26 to come from the airport which was a 10-minute drive. Going to the malecon was $15 each way.

The workers need to know their city so they can provide recommendations of food and activities. The hotel is in the far end so it’s away from ambience. Overall, nice hotel.

Most of the personnel were very friendly.. not all of them - The hotel is outdated, we had a Situation , when we first arrived, we inquired about a massage a couples massage we were asked to give 500 pesos as a deposit to schedule and I got very ill could not attend to the massage but told them that morning and that’s when they told us that the money was nonrefundable and that we just lost the money. I spoke to a manager and told them that it seemed very unprofessional, not to give us a receipt for the deposit and not to tell us that it was not refundable for that reason I would not recommend this hotel.

- Maria (10/5): - My husband and I had a great time celebrating our anniversary here. We had an amazing room with a stunning view. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Check-in and checking out was a breeze. The food is ok. Not a fan of the over cooked omelette option for breakfast but they did have a good burger, chips and salsa was amazing as well as the guacamole. Unless you’re flying directly into La Paz, you will need a vehicle. We flew into Cabo and it’s a 2 and half hr drive to this establishment. Plenty of food options in the area so be sure to venture out. The hotel is super cute and older but very clean. It is very quiet during the day so we were able to relax poolside or on our upper decks. Beware…on the weekends, the locals come to the beach and have parties for gender reveal, proposals, maternity pics etc. around sunset. Unfortunately for my husband. He stayed up one night due to the loud noise from people partying on the beach until 4am. I would definitely return, but would ensure that my room is on the opposite end of the hotel.

- Jessica (6/5): - Stayed here for a few days. Only thing I would say is that it’s not as kept as I anticipated. There’s like empty areas in the pool area which I feel could make it feel more luxurious if they were maintained and in service. There is like three bar areas that aren’t even used and the pool was dirty and had bugs in it. I don’t think the filters even cleaned it. As for the food and the room, very good. There was only one spider in my room but that’s all. The food was good and food portions as well. Staff was friendly and explained information well. I just feel this place seems a bit run down and could use some real love and attention and it could be really great.
- 218ilir (2/5): 2/5 Star, budget hotel - Overall would rate this hotel a 2/5 star. We stayed 3 nights. Hotel is outdated. The staff were very nice and accommodating, we have no complaints there. The breakfast was decent. Our biggest complaint was the bed. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. We both did not rest well and woke up multiple times during the night. It felt like we were sleeping on the floor. To make things worse the elevator was out of service. We had to walk 4 flights of stairs. The room tv did not have good signal. We gave up after 15 mins of watching a movie. The pool was not filled with water all the way. It had probably 3 1/2 feet in the deepest area. I specifically booked the room with the balcony with jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was not big enough to comfortably fit 2 average size person. Overall I would not recommend this hotel based on the price and quality.

- Marion (8/5): - The hotel has a great ocean view. Sunsets are beautiful. We enjoyed the restaurant at the hotel and the staff were great. Those are the Pros. The Cons: upon Check-In we were given a key and that was it. We had to ask how to use the elevator, as the design of it makes it hard to see the floor numbers. We didn’t find out until a couple of days later there are beach towel cards needed to get a towel. There was another part of the hotel with a pool and gym that we hadn’t explored. We were happy with the room because of the water views. We had a duplex with a hot tub, but there wasn’t any seating in the terrace as seen on the website. The hotel itself needs a facelift, including our room. There were holes and missing plaster. The paint was chipped in many places. The couch and chairs were stained. The curtains needed to be washed. The location of the hotel is not near Malecón. We asked for directions on the first night and the staff pointed us in the direction, but failed to mention it is easily a 30-35 minute walk. We found out the hard way and called an Uber half way through. The Front Desk staff are not very helpful. The person who gave us a tour of the hotel was the restaurant manager, Octavio. He have us dining recommendations and tour ideas. If anyone visits, they need to be proactive and ask for information. We had a good stay, but the hotel needs improvement.

- abdelmoitia (10/5): Must visit - I recently stayed at La Posada Hotel & Beach Club for a spontaneous, last-minute trip, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! I had some initial doubts based on older reviews, but wow—this hotel has truly turned things around. With new management in place, everything exceeded my expectations. The room was spotless and beautifully maintained, the service was exceptional, and the food was absolutely delicious. Every detail felt well taken care of, and the overall atmosphere was so relaxing and welcoming. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be coming back. If you’re on the fence about staying here, don’t hesitate—it’s well worth it!

Bathroom and shower were very nice. The bed was very comfortable. The view from the balcony was exceptional. The pool was clean and had several chairs/beds. We basically had the pool to ourselves for a handful of days. Downtown is 5 min away via taxi/uber. Only issues I had were: the walls are thin. I could hear chairs moving, showers turning on, people chatting/walking (I’m a light sleeper). The jetted tub in my room did not have hot water. It came out lukewarm at most. Would stay here again. Great prices!

Jacuzzis in the back don’t get hot the pool was hotter. Breakfast was just okay but the service was great. We had a jr suite. The safe wouldn’t open, the toilets door is foggy glass not super private, showed kept backing up , shower head needs to be cleaned, the small plus in mirror had lots of rust. Pictures in frames had soo much moisture they were warped. Curtains were ripping off and extremely dirty and don’t block the light. Bed was okay just 2 very thin sheets. Can’t walk to anywhere would need to drive as it’s in a residential area

It’s just an older property so some thing’s just are little outdated like in our room for example, there’s like cracks or chipped paint and then the pool is outdated but it’s such a vibe and feels amazing!! The beach is not the nicest part of the beach but it’s pretty. The rooms are really spacious and the beach view is beautiful !!! The staff is so nice and welcoming, the restaurants food is soooo good, breakfast is included and it’s not just a normal continental breakfast, it’s an actual restaurant that it’s a food menu. It’s about a 12 minute drive from malecon but easy to grab a cab or an Uber (front desk can help with a cab) and like 15mins from the airport. There’s currently no property next door, and a couple properties down it’s just like an abandoned hotel but this hotel is right on the beach you have access to it from the pool !! Overall I would rate it like 7/10!

The rooms are falling apart and the pool chairs had stains on the cusions. There were a few friendly staff members but for the most part employees could use better customer service skills. The staff/hotel was oddly stingy about towels - bath - we needed four but only had two. Requested two more but as soon as the room got cleaned housekeeping took the two towels and left us with only two again (and not cleans ones). They also took the hand towels and didn't replace with clean ones and when I asked if we could get hand towels they told me they ran out of clean ones. What kind of hotel runs out of clean hand towels?! Let's talk about swim towels - these would only be given to us with tokens and when I left the towels in the room at check out they made me get them and bring them down before I could check out. Food at the hotel restaurant wasn't very good. Dinner was terrible. My husband's dinner (paella) came out about 40 minutes after ours did and it was bad. Breakfast was okay. Luckily, it was complimentary. Pool closed so they wouldn't give us towels to swim yet there were Spanish speaking families swimming and being waited on from the bar. We went ahead and decided to swim but didn't have towels to dry off with. Ridiculous. Only one key for a room with a family of 4. Bathroom set up was strange. No door separating the bathroom from the rest of the room so privacy for a family of 4 was a little awkward. We will never stay at La Posada again.

- MAYRA (10/5): - This property was perfect for a quiet romantic couple's vacation. The staff are so sweet and helpful. The food was amazing. It felt homie and relaxing. The property could use a gift shop or little store for essentials guests may have forgotten. The property could use some upgrades to the outside furniture maybe choosing a more weather-resistant material. My only dislike is the birds that kept flying into the pool area. If there were a way to deter them from staying around that would be great. But overall we loved our stay and will be returning soon. The Spanish word La Paz means Peace in English; we certainly had that the week we were there. Thank you to the entire hotel staff.

It was a nice surprise to see that the 2 bedroom was 2 stories with 2 balconies. Super spacious. The pool was very kid friendly. Easy direct access to the beach (which is rare in La Paz). Breakfast is included and is great. Staff was great. I would definitely stay hear again.

- Quest59899994567 (8/5): Very good! - Drove up from San Jose for a few days. We had a wonderful stay here. The property does need some maintenance, but workers are working on the property regularly. We had a junior suite with a balcony overlooking the main pool and beach. Our room was lovely. The restaurant and drinks were very good. Staff was very helpful. We will come again. - MariahA1109 (2/5): Horrible trip - This place is a horrible place to stay. Do not let the pictures sell you because the pictures must have been taken years ago. The pictures are horrible. The place needs a lot of maintenance. I have to admit the people are very nice however don’t try to talk to the manager Cynthia because she never comes around she just send messages with her people and the food is not that great. The rooms are rundown Outside, the pool is not very good. They have all kinds of people have day passes coming in and out in and out dogs in the pool. The chairs are wood. You gotta be careful. Don’t get splinter when you’re lying on the chairs of the beach chairs outside it is very rundown place. I do not recommend it not for the price. There’s a lot of other better places in town. It’s far from town and it’s on the beach where it has a lot of activity. They do not tell you about advance or anything so people are in and out in and out all day long so if you’re trying to get away for peaceful , get away this is not the place. Don’t do it. We had plumbing problems. We had toilet problem. The Jacuzzi had a problem. We lasted two days with problems when we checked in and they try to move us to the room. We ended up staying where we were because that room had also a lot of problems so we stuck it out. I tried to cancel my reservation and get something else. They told me couldn’t cancel so I had to cancel three days before checking in. well you don’t know what’s gonna happen when you check in so I thought that was really ridiculous to have to suffer for another 4 days there we just slept there. Basically we never hang out because they had too much activity going on events like crazy people in and out and out, and people are rude just straight out rude it was a horrible place to stay. I do not recommend it. Please think again too far away just too much activity last night there the people on the beach they were out there till 5:30 in the morning with loud music to get up at six to go to airport. I did not sleep all night long so if you’re trying to get away for a peaceful getaway, this is NOT the place!!!! I will download pictures later but you can see the pictures. What a difference what it says and when it looks like. I wet to relax and now I need a vacation from my vacation! It was a horrible experience!

We eventually got two bath towels which we had to hand over every morning to be washed and returned to us. We had to ask for toilet paper twice The breakfast was good and had a good selection. Dinner was mediocre and expensive. The bar is ok if you want a beer but the mixed drinks were not good. The staff was well aware of the towel situation and we were told there wasn’t anything they could do about it.

- BrettBoulder (2/5): La Posada is Past Its Prime - Based Trip Adviser reviews, we booked this hotel initially for a week. We had to revise our dates, and it took forever to connect with someone who would/could make the needed changes. When we arrived, those date changes were still not made. This hotel was likely pretty plush in its prime, but it is well past its prime. Tired, worn out, in an undesirable location. And while the management will likely respond that this review is unfair to their employees, what is unfair to their employees is ownership/management not providing them with the tools and finances necessary to enhance the guest experience. We stayed one night then left. We were told we would receive a partial refund, and a partial credit, for unused days. No refund came through on our credit card, instead the hotel charged the full amount for the full stay.
- Tara (8/5): - The beachfront location with nice, shallow pool and lounge areas, the room terrace, the convenient fridge in the room, and the onsite bar and restaurant were just what we wanted and worth it. The property is very nice, very large, and has amazing potential. It could use some sprucing up as it has quite a bit of deferred maintenance. I think this property is geared towards Spanish speakers as the staff's English was limited except for one young lady. The housekeepers worked their tails off every day. Breakfasts were unpredictable, but if you stick to eggs, you'll be okay. Not sure what my chilaquiles were trying to be....

Advertised as having laundry services. Do NOT use $300 pesos for a 4kg load vs 125 ANYWHERE in Mexico , including 2 blocks away.

I was in shock by their shameless attitude. Imagine in a busy holiday such as eastern, to be denied a confirmed room was a complete shock.

I arrived during the whole week with my reservation in hand and O was told that my room has been rented and they won’t respect my reservation. This at the time when all hotels in the area are fully booked and I was left with my 7year old son literally on the street. Horrible horrible experience to say the least.

- Salycp (10/5): Our stay at this lovely hotel - My husband and I stayed at this beautiful hotel a couple of weeks ago, and we had a lovely time. Everyone at the hotel was so helpful and welcoming. It is in a fabulous location right on the beach, with a couple of pools- we used the main one in front of the beach and it was warm enough to use. Also the food is excellent here. Our room was really amazing, overlooking the beach, with glorious sunsets. Highly recommended!

La habitación pareciera que la estaban arreglando, el clóset era de esos armados que apenas si cupo ropa para una persona, se cayó el porta toallas y el jacuzzi carecía de lo indispensable para un baño. No volvemos a ir y no recomiendo el hotel, conviene mejor ir a una cadena internacional hotelera conocida.

- Lesliekap (6/5): Nice Hotel - except for the stray dogs - My husband and I stayed at the Posada Beach hotel in December 2023. Location is great, right on the beach, though necessary to have a car to get into town. Our 3rd floor room was clean and modern with a lovely view of the beach and lagoon. Breakfast was included and was really good (made to order) and the gentlemen serving breakfast were very friendly and helpful. Not the hotel’s fault, but there were a lot of stray dogs roaming the beach and streets (in town as well) which is a bit off-putting if you don’t love large unattended dogs. Also, the hotel did not seem busy at all - which always makes me wonder.

- Lawrence (8/5): - The employees are very accommodating. Rooms are quite unique having a second floor accessed by a circular staircase. Upstairs is another bathroom, lounge area and fillable tub. All rooms overlook the water. Its a unique small resort property and we enjoyed our stay. There is some minor remodeling being done as the property is almost 20 years old. Englebert Humperdink owned the property until 2003/4.

The 2 room alternatives we were given were painted ( wuthin hours of our arrival) abd smelled like paint, with paint drops all over the floor, furtniture, bed covers and sofa.. the hotel advertises a gym but fhe gym has not been open since the pandemic ( according to bell boy) . We are asking for a refund
- Darrell (6/5): Not a five star hotel (maybe three) - La Posada is a little run down and needs a lot of upgrading. Three chairs broke in our room during our five day stay. For the price of $191 per night you would expect a little more care. The pool was never vacuumed and the algae collected on the bottom of the pool. The outer area near the pool has a lot of clutter and the free breakfast was mediocre at best. However the service is excellent. The bar tender Antonio was always funny and pleasant. The front desk agent Jerald was always accommodating and wanted to make sure you were happy. Our room had a second level with a hot tub which was really nice. In the future, I would probably look for another hotel with better care though.

We checked out super early to do an excursion only to find I had left my 3 wedding rings in out bathroom. Lui answered our call and put us on hold while she personally went to our room and found my treasures! She assured us they would be safe at the concierge desk and they were! 8 hours later we returned and they were locked away safely and packaged in an envelope. Great service-Amazing Surf n Turf and Fish dinner-lovely beach front pool. We highly recommend!!!

- Nancy (8/5): Plenty of room for large families - Excited to book a resort that is centrally located in La paz. When we arrived the front desk was friendly but new. The room had a staircase up to another room with a jacuzzi tub on the balcony and another bathroom. Breakfast was included. The only downside is the resort pool is only filled halfway so it goes maybe to my waist. That happens in July or the summer months. That was why we booked here, was for a big nice pool. So that was a bummer. I would rate it 3.5 stars because of the pool.
- CLAUDIA (2/5): - Not happy with our stay had to leave hotel. First off shower knob was not working water went all over the place except where it needed to. Could not adjust it was hot. Secondly when we came back it appeared as someone had been in our room. Even the refrigerator had liquid spilled inside it. That was not there when we first arrived. Called front desk no one could come to help or check as he was the only one. But would tell morning shift. Door had not latch to keep closed. Se had to place a a chair in front of door in order to get some sleep. Told Ana we would not be staying and informed her of the issues she said she could not do anything and hotel was already paid. To take it up with Travelocity. She did offer another room but to be sincere we did not feel safe or comfortable staying.

- SoBeRetired (10/5): Wonderful resort, in every respect. - Wow! I can't say enough about this wonderful hotel, from our stunning suite with a private roof top hot tub, lounge, bathroom, and couch to the warm and friendly staff. We stayed for five days, and wish that we could have remained longer. The grounds are beautiful, immaculate, and in a perfect setting--quiet and on the water yet within about a mile of the downtown and the malecon. Normally, we don't eat restaurant food, but the La Posada meals were far and away the best we had in 10 days of travel in southern Baja. Service was prompt and delivered with a smile, in either English or Spanish. The resort has so few suites, 36 altogether, that there is never any sense of crowding or overused facilities. The only criticism we had was that, for some unexplained reason, the gym was not open during our stay. We were offered service at local gym instead, but that's not quite the same. Overall, those, this was one of the best hotel experiences we have had in many decades of national and international travel.

Rooms smell like sewage , no beach towels (they offer you a tablecloth instead), bath towels are rugged, floors too old they have holes. Their so-called beach is a stero full of trash and mosquitoes. Do not recommend.
