Guest Reviews
- Amy (8/5): I’d stay there again because it’s across the street from Pillar and Post. Had a few problems. - I would definitely stay at Weather Pine Inn again but simple things could be improved:
- no one was there when we checked in and we had to wait for person to arrive from offsite
- the check-in gal was uninformed and had to call owner even though I had email stating breakfast was included. After a long discussion she finally realized it was printed on her paperwork 😶
- again, while check-in gal was pleasant she told us the Pillar and Post didn’t have a bar restaurant and only had an outdoor wine bar in the garden across the street. The garden is a great place to hang but no food. Luckily we looked at Pillar and Post’s website and they have 2 restaurants and a bar. Being across the street from the hotel is a HUGE perk!!! The owner needs to give his employees their pamphlet, it’s ridiculous she lived there and didn’t even know.
- the breakfast at Pillar and Post was fabulous 🤗
- my only big complaint was drain in bathtub didn’t work and backed up. We stayed in the Forest Room and I’m trying to contact management so they can fix. Last, coffee machine was not clean and unplugged (I had to get on hands and knees to reach under table). See above. Sorry 😕
- Joy (7/5): It was fine. - Location In need of a face lift.

- Kate (10/5): Great place, highly recommend - Great location, easy walk into town. Very clean and comfortable, quirky property with friendly and accommodating staff. Loved it Nothing

- A (4/5): Lovely building, friendly staff, but unfortunately room had a very bad smell that led us to leave - A good location close to downtown. Unique, large, and nice-looking building. Friendly staff accommodated adding kids to our one night stay at the last minute. Unfortunately, from the moment we walked in there was a terrible smell in our room (Garden Room) that did not go away and made us feel nauseous, even with open windows and after several hours. Not sure what the source was, but it was definitely interior not outside (musty carpet or rodent in wall?). We had to leave. It's lovely building so hopefully something they can address!
- Karen (10/5): Loved it all & would love to come back in summer - Beautiful property & very well located. Parking available onsite … Steps outside to rooms upstairs a little slippery … otherwise fabulous!
- Dena (10/5): -
- Bryan (8/5): nice place to stay - very charming
- Crystal (9/5): We enjoyed our time at the Inn, our room was super clean and comfy. Breakfast each morning was delicious at Pillar and P - The property was clean and comfortable and the outside was decorated nicely for Christmas. The only issue we had was our room was a little warm for our liking and the bed was on the firmer side. But overall extremely happy with our stay! Great host:)
- Tony (9/5): - Did not have breakfast
- Stephen (10/5): Very nice and pleasant stay -
- Betsy (9/5): A pleasant inn with many amenities. - We skipped the breakfast. The location was great for dining and shopping in the Queen Street area. John, our host, was very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and well-furnished, and had a mini-fridge with two waters ad two sodas for us. Would recommend!
- Nicole (10/5): -
- Joanne (9/5): A lovely stay in a lovely area, waiting walking distance to restaurants and night life. - Location and on-site parking was excellent. The room was comfy and clean.
The breakfast was served in the Pillar & Post during our stay - it was very good. The room upstairs slept all night with some form of extractor fan on and this could be heard quite loudly during the night in our room. Our bedroom could have done with a bedside table on each side of the bed - the bed was very high, so putting a glass of water on the floor was not really an option.

- Hannah (6/5): Good location dated room - Friendly staff good location Room very dark with dated furniture.

- Joanna (5/5): Dinner at The Cannery and Murder On the Lake at the Shaw Festival made the stay worthwhile. - I liked that the B&B was across the road from the Pillar & Post, which is where our dinner reservation was.
I liked that the building had a wraparound porch on each level with comfortable chairs.
The room was clean but small. A small fridge was in the room with 2 cans of pop and 2 bottles of water in it so that was nice. I really hated that they were advertised as a Bed & Breakfast but they didn't serve breakfast! If I had known they didn't serve breakfast, I wouldn't have booked there. What's the point of a Bed & Breakfast without breakfast?
Our room was on the second floor, up a very steep set of stairs. Fortunately, the owner carried our bags up for us but we ended up carrying them back down, which was somewhat difficult. The owner had said he would come back to help if we just let him know.
The pillows were flat and I woke up with a backache.

- Jessica (5/5): Would not stay again. Not worth the price for one night. - Breakfast was not included. We had to pay an extra 20 per person to go across the street. The place was clean. Staff was not on site when we arrived. Nobody answered the phone or door for 15 minutes. Would have liked more complementary items. Got one pop and one water each. Coffee with expired cream.
- Laurie (9/5): -
- Patrick (9/5): -
- Linda (9/5): Very enjoyable. - We ate breakfast at a local diner, opting out of the WeatherPine’s breakfast. There was nothing we didn’t like about this Inn.
- Daphne (9/5): Lovely rooms and great access for an elderly couple. - I booked a ground floor room for my elderly parents. They were very comfortable and well taken care of
- Rosa (8/5): -
- Donald (8/5): Definitely would stay at Weatherpine Inn again. -
- Sanskruti (9/5): - Excellent breakfast. None
- Ceroni (7/5): - NOTL can be a very expensive town to visit, and the surrounding hotels, while lovely, are also quite pricey, especially during peak season. Weatherpine is a more financially reasonable alternative, which allows you to visit and enjoy the town without having to bust your budget.
- Mark (8/5): Good stay. No follow up. - Location. Quiet. Very comfortable room.
- Morin (4/5): Disappointed that this was not a B&B experience - The property was nice as seen in pics Unfortunately it was so slippery, no walk ways were shoveled minimal salt was put down. Having to go up steep stairs to a room with no access to the house would have been nice for the steps to be cleaned off. A B&B is usually more then a hotel stay. Don’t be fooled into thinking you will have access to more then a room. We do B&B’s yearly where you have a nice common area, library or fire place, a home cooked breakfast as well. Here your sent across the street to a restaurant, definitely not your topical B&B. Maybe the add should be changed to a motel rather then B&B

- Linda (9/5): Comfy, cozy & good value - Rooms comfy and large. We were upgraded as a larger room was available. Breakfast vouchers for Pillar & Post was much appreciated. No complaints.
- Paul (9/5): Lovely accommodation and an excellent breakfast across the road. - It was beautiful, it was like going back 50 yrs really tastefully done. Getting the luggage up to the top floor.
But hey it was an old building and boy was it worth it.
- Brian (9/5): It was a fabulous stay in NOTL. - Very quaint and comfy. Friendly greeting. The room had a smell like a stale cigarette smell or like a cigar shop.
- John (5/5): -
- K (9/5): - Lovely building, room and location was a short walk to the main street. Friendly and helpful staff made it so easy. Enjoyed our stay!
- Kuiper (5/5): Nice place, but not a relaxing place to stay. - Super cute Inn, the place was lovely. If you want to sleep on your vacation this is not the place for you! The walls are paper thin. We could hear the people above our room snoring in the night. It was not a good place to rest, but if that’s not the point of your trip then no worries. Also the WIFI didn’t work and it was a hot box, we had no control over the heat and basically walked around naked because we were sweating.
- Michael (8/5): -
- Sonja (9/5): A wonderful time at Niagra on the Lake - We appreciated our friendly and helpful host John. The accommodation was cute, nicely furnished and very comfortable. the location was very convenient and we could easyly explore the village by foot.
- Cowan (6/5): - The location was relatively close to town When I made the reservation I didn't realize I was booking a room only. We entered the room off the upstairs balcony. When investigating the room we opened the door that lead to the rest of the inn, from our room, and were immediately told we were not allowed in that area and to close the door. No breakfast.
- Margaret (4/5): We checked in at 2:30 PM, went to dinner, slept a few hours and left at 2AM. - The location. The facility was very outdated and rustic.
- Anderson (9/5): - Everything was great! No complaints!
- Florence (8/5): - L’allure de l’établissement. Le manque d’un petit espace d’accueil et de lobby. Le langues de salle à manger sur place
- Autumn (9/5): -
- Craig (9/5): Was an enjoyable home base for 2 nights! - Breakfast was included in the price of the room at the Post & Pillar across the street.
The bed was very comfortable, had a large TV, mini fridge & a roomy covered porch for early morning & evening relaxation.
Within walking distance to the shops & restaurants in the town center. N/A
- Peggy (10/5): We can’t wait to come back! It’s the perfect getaway! - We loved everything about this Inn, especially the gorgeous neighborhood and the wonderful breakfast buffet across the street where they sent us with coupons.
- Michael (8/5): -
- Olivia (8/5): Quirky but comfortable base for NOTL - Quirky but comfortable A little too battered in places
- Hayley-Bo (8/5): I want to know what mattress they use - The bed was amazing.
Only stayed a night. The manager of the property was excellent and super friendly and helpful.
Everything was very clean. Na
- Rafael (9/5): Beautiful room and about 15 min walk from the restaurants and shops on Queen Street. - The room was decorated charmingly. It was a little pricey, which seemed to be the case for most if not all the accommodations in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
- Leanne (8/5): Great location for the wine region - Great location and picturesque building . Breakfast at the pillar and post was a real treat It was really hard to lock the door- we would have preferred a key.
- Cheryl (10/5): Beautiful place to stay! - Different from hotels. Charming place to stay!
- Dozier (8/5): -
- Clodagh (8/5): - This a gem of a place. Loved sitting on the veranda and found John, the host very helpful with any questions I had. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Can't think of any..
- Andrew (8/5): Very enjoyable - Location and use of nearby hotel facilities Hard bed
- stephen (8/5): -
- Bertrand (9/5): Demeure de charme, très bon accueil -
- Ann (10/5): Charming decor; lovely to sit on the balcon; delightful breakfast! - Charm and location
- Ronald (9/5): -
- David (8/5): - Nice, clean, quiet location.
- Eric (8/5): -
- Ann (10/5): - Good location, nice clean room. People very friendly. Nothing
- Andrew (8/5): - It was a nice stay.
Would prefer breakfast on the premises but they include breakfast across at The Piller and Post, which was very nice.
- Shirley (8/5): A lovely property in a beautiful town. - The location was perfect for a wedding at a venue next door. The handrail going upstairs didn’t feel safe.
- Katherine (10/5): A great spot in a colorful, flower-filled town. - The breakfast was awesome.
- Grainne (10/5): Perfect stay - Location was perfect and the exterior was really beautiful. Older building but very well maintained
- Daniel (10/5): Romantic - A great, characterful location to stay in Niagara on the Lake. Very romantic and great for couples. The bed was very comfortable and the AC was perfect for maintaining a comfortable temperature in the summer heat!
- Jens Dyrberg (8/5): -
- Dianne (9/5): - The location was great. I especially enjoyed the outside balcony space and the fact that there was a keypad on the door so no key! The water was hot for showering. Beds and pillows were comfy. I prefer a cooler temperature for sleeping and it was a bit dated but not enough to keep me from staying there again.
- Peggy (8/5): - Property was lovely... but further from amenities then we thought.
- Todd (6/5): - Pleasant surroundings. Great breakfast included at hotel across the street.
Owner/manager is a nice guy but a little on the reclusive side for someone in the hospitality business
- Cindy (8/5): - Great location - attending a wedding at the Pillar & Post which was right beside the Inn. The room was comfortable and quiet.
John was a kind & receptive host.
- Laura (9/5): Perfect for a couple of nights, and a visit to the falls. - Delightful small accommodation, just a nip across the road to partnership hotel for an excellent breakfast.
NTOL is a super town very cute.
The gardens run by the hotel next door are stunning and convenient for an hour sitting and catching your breath. All great, recommend you request down stairs room if stairs a problem.
- Alfred (9/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): Absolute gem - John is an absolute Gem and so is this place. It was such a cute old style B&B getaway. And the breakfast voucher was incredible I wish I stayed longer
- Beverly and Robert (8/5): Great location - Off the beaten path but walkable to the center of town. Loved the location.
- Douglas (10/5): We ALWAYS stay here when in NOTL if space is available. - Breakfast at The Pillar and Post (included) is great!! TV was difficult to manipulate, Fire Stick didn't seem to work
- Lee (10/5): - A property with lots of character! We stayed in the garden room. A lovely room with the added bonus of a private outdoor terrace - a lovely space to relax on with a drink after a days sightseeing! Car parking was included with the room which was great. The Weatherpine has an excellent arrangement where you go across the road to the Pillar & Post restaurant for your breakfast - this we couldn’t fault! Plenty of choice and very tasty food! Would definitely recommend the Weatherpine Inn for a stay in Niagara-on-the-Lake!
- GENESTE (9/5): - Chambre très confortable dans jolie maison. Le petit déjeuner continental est prévu dans l'hôtel situé en face : une belle surprise.
- Alan (9/5): A beautiful Inn, with a comfortable bedroom, set in a great location and an excellent host. Overall, we had a great s - The beautiful flowers and architecture of the property. The ability to sit on the veranda and enjoy the tranquility of Niagra on the Lake. The very friendly and helpful owner. A great location, with a short walk into the centre of Niagra on the Lake.
- Lawrence (10/5): -
- Eric (10/5): parfait pour une étape aux Niagara Falls - très joliment décoré, proche du bord de lac et du centre à pied. accueil très sympa. Niagara on the lake vaut le detour
- Frederick (4/5): - This property owner committed two serious faux pas I my opinion. First, he charged my credit card for the entire stay, even though we hadn't arrived yet. In fact, we were sitting at Newark Airport waiting for our flight to Buffalo. Greed overcame common courtesy! Second, there was absolutely no housekeeping for our entire three day stay. To my mind when you advertise yourself as an "INN" you should at least spend 15 minutes a day replenishing coffee and emptying trash. None of that happened. The room was adequate and breakfast down the block at the Pillar and Post Inn was as well. For more that $200 USD a night we should have been provided more!
- Marcy (10/5): - The breakfast at Pillar and Post was delicious! Bed creaked
- Kathleen Lois (8/5): -
- Samuel (8/5): It was a pleasant stay. - The breakfast was perfect. The room was smaller than we expected and the WIFI code did not connect.
- Jenny (8/5): -
- Vincent (10/5): -
- Jeff (8/5): - Quiet and comfortable Breakfast at the restaurant across the street was fabulous. Near downtown, easily walkable
- Kiran (10/5): Excellent stay - Welcoming and very pleasant.
