- Laura (9/5): Gorgeous hotel in a convenient location with excellent restaurant. - The breakfast was wonderful. Plenty of choices on the buffet along with delicious options from the menu. Beautiful outdoor and indoor seating options and pleasant attentive staff. Wifi in the room kept dropping. Ended up going to the reception area to have a consistent connection. Twice assistance requested from the main desk took quite a while (hours) to be addressed.

Sehr gute Lage nahe der Victoriafälle (zu Fuss erreichbar). Ruhig und gepflegt. Gute Security. Ein tolles Zimmer direkt zum Garten und dem Wildtiergebiet. Sehr schöne Gartenanlage und sehr schöne Pflanzen überall. Eine gute Restauration. Das Frühstücksbuffet war für die Kategorie Hotel viel zu mager (zu kleine Auswahl). Die Brote stammten allesamt aus industrieller Produktion - ich fand fast nichts ohne Konservierungsstoffe (auf die ich unverträglich bin). Die Früchte waren sehr gut.

Horrible experience AVOID at all costs UNLESS YOU ARE A WHITE RETIREE! if you don’t look like a white retiree then you’ll notice a different treatment here by certain staff members. It only takes one person to ruin your entire stay and that’s what happened to me here, let me explain. Btw, this was a bucket list hotel for me, I had saved my hard earned money and flew here from Kenya as part of my greater Africa trip. I was so excited to stay here. On my first night I went down to dinner, got dressed smartly and looked forward a nice a long dinner with a falls view - that makes a perfect evening right? Well on arrival the restaurant was totally empty as I had arrived at 6pm exactly when they open (they can check the cameras) I sat down at a Table that was set, there few guests and the restaurant was 99% unoccupied. A firm chap named Godfrey approached me and didn’t greet me with “hello sir , how are you , how is your stay” None of that, instead he asked me if I’m a paying guest of the hotel. I found that odd and said it shouldn’t matter , I’m here to eat my dinner - again in a very firm way he says “I asking you if you are a guest as these are reserved for hotel paying guests” I found this very rude but I wanted to divide his attitude and just have a nice meal. He tells me this table is reserved for hotel guests and I must sit elsewhere - he then tells me to get up from that table only to sit me next to the table, one away. When I sat down he wanted to see my room key. Prior to that I see him talking to white guests like they were colonial kings of his past. Maybe he likes to adore those people for tips. Unfortunately I’m not white - I am brown an my treatment was Very Different. In this time I saw this what was happening, I just got up an left and I told him I was unhappy and leaving His response “go an tell a supervisor if you’re not happy” and walked away I went to a restaurant in town ate there.

I booked all my activities through the hotel activity center, they arranged all transportation from the hotel to the activity and back to the hotel. They help you arrange your day and make the most of your trip. There is a bar close to the hotel that plays very loud music till sunrise. I was able to sleep after long day of excursion. But otherwise this can be really discomforting.

- adventureawaits1855 (10/5): The perfect place to stay in Victoria Falls - This is the perfect place to stay in Victoria Falls! It's perfectly located right near the main shops, brewery, distillery, and restaurants. It's also a super easy 8-10 minute walk to the falls as well! The place was super clean and modern. The food here was excellent and everyone was extremely friendly. It was a great view and is nice and private. We even saw lots of wildlife right from our balcony. I would highly recommend staying here if you're planning a visit to Victoria Falls!

Pool food was good too and evening dinner was excellent with good choices and plenty of options for all , including vegetarians . The local sights were all very good , the falls of course , the sunset cruise , Chobe National park . There was some noisy work going on whilst renovating one of the pools whilst I was there . Helicopters are a constant noise . I didn’t like the fact that you get harassed by street sellers wherever you go . Also , every time you go to the falls or into the Nature park there’s a $50 Charge . But that’s the same for all the hotels there . But it Does make the trips expensive. A multi visit pass should be available.

- Alex (8/5): Mixed feelings - Walking distance to the fall and the style of the hotel. Breakfast is not satisfactory and the organization also. It should start at 6.30 and it is not 100% ready until 7.15, so if you have something programmed at 7, you won’t have a proper breakfast. And nobody seemed preoccupied with that: “start with what is already on the table”!!! Also being so close to the falls, you have constantly helicopter over you and you cannot relax by the pool.

A relatively small point but For a high end property we were a little disappointed with how the rooms were equipped. The room itself was lovely but there were no bathrobes, no slippers, no hair conditioner, no tissues, just one towel each. It felt like these items are expected with a hotel charging this amount a night.
- Jephunneh (10/5): - A true 5-star resort featuring African luxury and charm at its finest. The exquisite cultural décor within the executive suites is astounding. The free mini-bar at first seems to be too good to be true. It is yours to enjoy. The insect repellent and insect spray awaiting us in the room were greatly appreciated. This is a fabulous property that allows for one to see native animals graze nearby from your room. The restaurant food and staff are excellent. There were a few communication hiccups with hotel personnel. However, the hotel staff works hard to rectify and please. The Hotel does a good job presenting and explaining the Victoria Falls tours and activities. I would suggest that they update their activities list to make note that all activities are on the Zimbabwe side (same side as hotel) except for the Devils Pool which is on the Zambia side. That is very important to know for ones respective Country Visa requirements. Also, a total time estimate for activities would be helpful. The IIala is immediately surrounded by noisy traffic, restaurants, and helicopter tours. Perhaps upgrading the patio doors and windows to thicker and/or soundproof glass (for the suites wing at least) would help. The high arching outdoor hallways act as sound magnifiers and that adds to the disturbance. Still a very wonderful stay overall!

- Tai (9/5): Superb - The breakfast was good. The location is perfect! It is less than a km walk from the hotel to the Victoria Falls entrance. It close to the Lookout Cafe which has a view of the bridge and some activities at the Victoria Falls. I don't like carpet, so what I did not like in the rooms was the carpet. I suffer from sinus and I would have liked the rooms to be wooden flooring or tilled.

- Alec (10/5): An excellent overnight stay with very friendly, helpful and capable staff. - Location is excellent, within easy walking distance of the national park entrance and the Lookout Cafe, which is outside the park and which does not require payment of the daily park fee. The hotel’s grounds are beautiful, with trees flowering in late October. The pool is small, but good for a cooling dip in hot weather. Cape buffalo were grazing right outside our room in the middle of the night. The price point is very high.

- Linda (9/5): Was a little unsure about visiting Zimbabwe beforehand but my family and I had a great time. - The location is excellent, walking distance to Victoria Falls, also 2real ale bars/restaurant close by. The only negative is that you get hassled continually by the local men wanting you to buy their goods which they are selling. you say No then another man approaches. Although, I never felt threatened it was just annoying.

The people and staff were incredible , they had a great activities desk that arranged my airport transfers and activities that I wanted to do, and the rooms were very nice! The pool and outdoor eating areas were also incredible. Great staff and people and overall experience
- Yaser (4/5): Disappointing - Location but otherwise is terrible . Megan at the front desk should never be in hospitality industry . She is rude and not welcoming . My room did not have a WIFI . They promised to change it or fix it and that had never happened . Keep in mind , the country has very poor cell phone signal and if you don’t have WIFI you can not do any bussiness . Food was mediocre at best . Their activities office was awesome though abd very helpful. I would definitely not stay here again Staff , lack of services and food

The room was always cleaned and everything topped up every day. Animals out our room !! Awesome experience. Definitely value for $ , 100% recommend this place The guy that answered when I asked for room service was very rude and asked me to come get food in the restaurant as he was to busy to do room service. When I said no I'd like room service he then told me in a rude tone that it would be a very very long time as the restaurant was full. I totally didn't mind at all just didn't fell like eating in the restaurant and obviously it was full anyway!!! ( food didn't take that long at all)

- H (5/5): Memorable! - For all the wrong reasons, this was a memorable stay! ☹ The location of the lodge is in an excellent position, walking distance to the amazing falls with “the smoke” visible from the terrace/restaurant, also close to the town with access to restaurants, galleries, bottle shops etc, yet still quiet and peaceful….wonderful! The food and ambiance @ breakfast matched the amazing location. The air conditioner in our room was akin to a truck driving through and even though the staff/maintenance people tried to improve it…..prognosis….needs replacing. The overhead fan was like a helicopter in the room…..so it was difficult to sleep in the comfortable bed. The coffee machine wasn’t working….again help was required….same prognosis…..needs replacing, so why didn’t they in our four night stay? The wifi wouldn’t work for us either…..after explaining that the wifi @ the Three Monkeys Restaurant nearby worked perfectly…..the front desk staff suggested we use the staff wifi access rather than the guest one…..guess what….it worked perfectly for 12hrs, then back to no workable wifi. Disappointing overall, considering the price per night for the hotel, but a couple of days later (in our next hotel with working wifi) I noticed that we had been billed twice for staying our four nights….now even if everything was wonderful…..a second charge!! I notified the lodge as soon as possible and expected it to be corrected in a few hours, as a priority (even though it wouldn’t be processed by their bank for a few days) but instead it took many emails to different departments to get the lodge to refund the second charge! Surely, it’s bad enough to double charge someone but then to take days of toing and froing to get it sorted/refunded is just not good enough. I made the suggestion that as a gesture of goodwill and for the amount of time I’d had to spend contacting them to get the refund that it would be appreciated if our airport transfer with them could be also refunded, not unreasonable under the circumstances, but my request was completely ignored, says a lot! Recommend you stay @ Shongwe Lookout, wish we had done so 😊
