- Kaietours (10/5): Ideal Weekend Getaway - For a quick solo escape that still keeps you connected to the energy of the city, Element Harrison - Newark is a solid pick. I spent a weekend here and loved the vibe right away—Harrison feels vibrant and up-and-coming, with a chic, urban energy and plenty of upscale dining options within walking distance. Plus, being just minutes from New York City makes it the perfect balance of convenience and calm. The hotel itself delivered across the board. Everything was clean, modern, and comfortable, and the room had a beautiful layout with a great view that made it easy to unwind. It’s perfectly situated in the middle of everything, so stepping out always felt like you were part of the action. Amenities were exactly what you’d expect—no surprises, just well-executed comfort. The complimentary breakfast buffet was a standout and a great way to start the day without extra hassle. Staff were consistently friendly and welcoming, which always makes a difference, especially on a solo trip. Overall, it’s absolutely worth the stay—whether you’re looking for a quick reset or a convenient home base near NYC without the chaos.

- Christy (9/5): Great option to avoid driving in NYC - Can't beat the location when you're going into the city but don't want to drive there - practically attached to the PATH station, and they share a garage. Reasonable parking price for the area, breakfast included. Breakfast area a little worn and made-to-order station was set up but not staffed for some reason. (We were there in the last hour of breakfast, but not at the last minute either.) Also, price for the stay was a little high but there's not much you can do in the area, and the convenience to the train is really helpful.
- lionelj629 (2/5): Overcharged by hotel - beware! - One of my most disappointing experiences with a Marriott hotel. The hotel charged me 2 days for a 2 hour stay and refuses to correct the error. I was getting in after a red eye and stated in my reservation that I would be arriving the next morning. When I checked in, the receptionist was initially confused but said she'd made the change and even offered me a late checkout. I checked in at 7am and checked out by 9am (earlier than expected). Imagine my surprise when I was charged 2 full days for a 2 hour stay. The manager said the system had flagged me as a no-show (despite my written notification), and then charged for the next day, even though I'd checked out well before the 3p check-in time. I've never been overcharged by a Marriott and then seen them refuse to correct the issue. Beware!

There were some decent food options within walking distance, so that was really nice too. We had a few very helpful staff members and the breakfast had a good variety of options! Our room phone did not work and although we let the front desk know, it was not fixed. So if we needed anything, we had to go down to the front desk for assistance.

The staff - all the staff were good to us and helpful, especially Ms. Linda, thank you so much for arranging the wheelchair for my child in the last minute. - sambra41 (10/5): Visiting family in NYC - Looking for reasonably priced accommodations a decent distance from NYC. Came upon this hotel when searching and was very glad I did. Hotel was very clean and provided plenty of space in the 2 queen room, with separate couch and kitchenette. Breakfast provided was one of the best I've had when travelling. Parking was included in our rate, and the garage was attached to the hotel. Even better, the PATH train to the WTC is literally attached, being just across the street, and only took ~15 minutes.

- Discover32429727220 (2/5): ROACHES - DO NOT STAY HERE, they have roaches. Please go through trip advisor reviews thoroughly. I stayed at this hotel once before (unfortunately I did not use trip advisor) and didn't see roaches being an issue however yesterday after dropping my bags off right away and then returning in the night to settle in, I opened the bathroom door to roaches! I immediately went to the front desk and let them know and they insisted I move to another room. Why on earth would I do that? If that's not enough the Operations Manager, Carlos, responded to an email I sent saying they "need" to investigate the issue in order to respond on IF they will provide me my money back after not staying at the hotel. Excuse me? I read his email then called to make sure I had it correct and he confirmed they need to investigate because they "don't have roaches." LOL I'm certain he's either seen or heard other guest share that. Regardless, I'm sure the staff opened the door and saw the roaches well before the call took place and why on earth would a customer need to wait for an investigation when they left because of that health hazard in the first place. He even asked "what time did the roaches enter the room?" which really had me floored.

Parking was tough in the garage as one night there was a soccer game and a full garage. Breakfast was good but no traditional breakfast food like scrambled eggs and pancakes or waffles.

Access into Manhattan is great with the PATH station just across the street. For international travel, the hotel is a fair distance from JFK and is a costly cab fare away so you should factor this into the budget.

We loved the fruit infused water, free drink and complimentary coffee. The only small suggestion would be to add a few additional hot options to the continental breakfast. We always stay at the Element when attending concerts at Prudential and will continue to do so because it's a wonderful hotel!

Definitely recommend this hotel. Harrison station is 1 block away and is a straight shot to the 911 memorial. 25min train ride staring to new york. Perfect for the korn and sod concert we attended.

- Cynthia (10/5): - 2nd stay here. My stays here have been very comfortable and no issues. The first stay last year I had exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. This time staff was professional and somewhat helpful, but not above & beyond and friendly like the first time. I appreciated that the shuttle brought us to the Prudential due to other people having requested it, so I was really pleased with that service. I did request to use it for Penn Station when leaving and the shuttle was sitting parked, so I’m not entirely sure why that request was denied. The shuttle to the Prudential was quite helpful, though and I was pleased with that comfort. Always a clean facility and room and very comfortable and quiet for sleeping so thank you!

- linda (10/5): - Rooms were clean but was surprised they did not makeup beds the first night. Breakfast was good. Best was the proximity of the Path transit to New York which was good even for late night transportation Would recommend to others travelling for cruises out of Bayonne

The room was phenomenal, I wasn't expecting a full size fridge! The shower had awesome water pressure and the bed was super comfy and I slept like a baby

- Celina (10/5): - We enjoyed our one night stay. My sister and I were there for a concert at Prudential Center. The room was clean and spacious. The shuttle service was very convenient for transporting us to the venue and back. The included continental breakfast was a plus. I’d definitely stay here again!

- Pieri (10/5): Recomiendo sin duda - El hotel es muy lindo, todo muy bien cuidado, limpio y ordenado. El personal fue muy amable y estaban siempre dispuestos a ayudar. El desayuno tiene buenas opciones para vegetarianos y tiene pan sin gluten. El dormitorio muy bueno, espacioso, cómodo. Tuvimos una instancia muy buena, además que a dos minutos caminando se podía acceder al PATH para recorrer hacia Nueva York. Estuvo todo bien

- sethiaj (8/5): Great Stay with a Few Minor Drawbacks - Overall, our experience was very positive. The check-in process was smooth, and most of the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a highlight, offering a variety of options to suit different tastes. The only downside was the parking fee of $21 per night, which felt a bit steep. On the bright side, the hotel is conveniently located near both the Pathway and Penn Station East, making it easy to connect to NYC.

- Sharadh (10/5): - Convenient location. Easy to drive to and park at the garage next door. Metro station is across the street. 30 min train ride to WTC station. Hotel room was spacious, updated, with a kitchenet and comfortable bed. Lobby area is warm.
