- Tracey (6/5): - The staff were lovely, kind and welcoming especially Gemma. The bed was uncomfotable, the door to the room was so warped it wouldn't shut. I would have liked a chair or two in the room to watch tv on a night instead of sitting on the bed which was uncomfortable. We went and bought a mattress topper.

- darren (8/5): - Lovely little stay for our friends wedding, the hotel grounds are beautiful, food and drink decent quality and reasonably priced, staff are attentive and friendly.i can see the appeal of getting married here. The bypass is pretty close so there is a steady hum of traffic noise at all hours and the beds could be a little comfier. These are minor gripes however and I would fully recommend a stay here.

- CAD 66 (7/5): - Not our first stay here so knew what to expect which is why we chose here to celebrate a special birthday. Good size and comfortable rooms, lovely bar and great breakfast. The evening meal was disappointing not the usual standard for this hotel.

- Joyce (8/5): Wonderful hotel with excellent food and staff. - A gorgeous hotel perfect for weddings with a lovely Chapel. We stayed two nights on our way up to Glasgow. The food was excellent plenty of choice the staff friendly and very helpful and the rooms were very quiet and lovely and warm. An excellent stop over just off the motorway. We will definitely stay over again. There is nothing to dislike about the property. Our mattress was passed its best but we told reception so hopefully a new one will be in place for new guests .

Breakfast is served upstairs with no lift. This was not a problem for me but someone with mobility issues might find this difficult. Because the staff were so good I'm sure if the issue were raised they would try to accommodate this.

Rooms were comfortable, had lots of storage and mirrors. Carpet was very thin so quite noisy of a night, could hear ever creak!

Food is excellent and a fine selection of beers and whisky (and other wine and spirits). The room was basic. The carpet on the floor was very thin so much that it offers no dampening underfoot. Breakfast from 0730-0900 felt a bit restrictive. It’s a wee bit out of the way so no ease of walking into nearby villages, which we like to do.

- CAD 66 (10/5): Christmas shopping trip - Not our first time staying here, it never disappoints. Rooms are a good size, comfortable beds and a good shower. The bar/restaurant is great, amazing food, reasonably priced and breakfast is excellent.

Food was great at dinner (scampi and pie) and a nice couple of drinks 👍🏼. The barmaid was lovely and she had lots to do. Would definitely stay here again. Just bed needs attending to.

I couldn't have a shower as it was far less than average. The bathroom was even smaller and in my view unacceptable. The breakfast was very mediocre. Overall I would rate the stay as really not value for money. Wouldn't stay here again.

- LYNNE (10/5): lovely comfortable with excellent food - we stay here every year and always look forward to our return visit . the food is simply amazing, lovely staff and clean warm rooms. brekfast service could be better dont like the help yourself tea flasks thats my only negative tea flasks at breakfast. i like me tea hot and in a pot. not a fan of flasks im affraid. i have no other objections

- chris (10/5): Great place, nice people, good food, good accommodation, easy excess back to the motorway - We were very surprised when we actually got there, it was a stop off on the way up to Scotland, good location easy to get on and off the motorway you could hear the traffic buzzing passed but once you were in your room you heard nothing. lovely two beds nice size room and bathroom, the staff were kind enough to let us have some dinner, even though there was a wedding on, we hadn't booked a table, so this was a bonus, the best lasagna we had in a long time. We had a great stay, beds were comfy shower hot, room warm very clean, on arrival. Everyone was super nice; we would recommend and will defiantly be back on our next trip up north. To many stairs for breakfast, it would be nice if they could open up a downstairs room, for Breakfast especially for those with disabilities. I had knee replacement stairs are something i try to avoid.

We could hear the people in the room next to us during the evening and woke us up singing at 6am! The room could do with some soundproofing if possible.
