Guest Reviews
- Didier (7/5): - Bedroom and shower size.
The bed was comfortable and the facilities such as wi-fi, tv, ketle, tea, cofee, milk and customer service at the reception were excellent. One naughty staff was using my toilet in my absence without flashing it. The reception was unattended in the morning. I couldn't extend my stay for a while.
The parking area should be clean.staff are needed to clear the mess.
- Steven (8/5): - Very handy just off the motorway.
Staff very friendly.
Rooms very clean and comfy bed Nothing
- Trudy (8/5): I recently stayed at Middleton Inn and had a really pleasant experience. The hotel has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and - Convenience No breakfast

- Maureen (1/5): Avoid like the plague - Absolutely nothing to like about this hotel, its a disgrace. The smell of marijuana when you walk in the foyer is overwhelming, which is also on ymthe corridors. The rooms are dirty and shoddy and the beds are uncomfortable and hard. Everything, this hotel needs to be closed down and completely refurbished. The bathroom was filthy, hairs round the ouside of the bath, the shower curtain hanging off, the walls were dirty, there was a cobweb with a spider in it in the corner. Dirt on the carpet, curtains hanging off. Hard, lumpy beds and only one pillow each. The security door was broken, leaving it open to anyone walking in.

Honestly from the moment you walked into this property you could tell it was going to be filthy, stained mattresses, smoke filled corridors, dirty carpets not even fitted, brown substance in bath and sink.
Sink hanging off the wall and plug sockets not fitted back properly.
- Vicki (4/5): Won’t be back - Lots of parking Very few plug sockets in room, bed looked like it had seen a lot of action 😵💫, stains on carpet, no toilet roll in bathroom

- Leanne (1/5): We didn’t stay - luckily found somewhere else to stay - absolutely nothing Cleanliness- absolutely disgusting. Filthy belongings found in the room, lampshade burning (fire hazard!) curtains hanging off the rails. Staff member had no idea how to resolve this situation or wanted to! 3 rooms were offered and refused due to different problems!

- Samir (1/5): Awful stay for me. - Location is pretty good. I went into my room and noticed that the door handle on the inside of the room (Room 19, first floor) was half broken and then fell off. I also saw blood on the floor in front of the bed (I will attach a photo of this), as well as blood on the floor beside the bed, on the side where the window sill is.
I asked for a refund or an upgrade, but I was told this was not possible. The receptionist explained that there would be consequences for his job if he were to offer those solutions, so instead I was eventually given Room 30 on the second floor. Everything in that room was fine, with no issues.
At the time, I only managed to take a photo of the blood in front of the bed in Room 19. As I was rushing to a wedding, I did not have time to properly take photos of the broken door handle. I also only noticed the blood on the floor near the window sill as I was moving my belongings out of Room 19 and into Room 30.
- Michael (6/5): Fair stay for price - Location was really good, bed was comfy Was quite dirty, missing lights, shower and sink had hairs in which was a bit disgusting.

- Babul (6/5): -
- Sammy (3/5): Wouldn’t stay again unless a revamp - The location was a good location The bed was rock hard, one pillow per person, no ironing board or iron, no hair dryer, quite dated, the extractor fan in bathroom looked like it was going to fall off the ceiling, the light fitting in the bathroom was brown and full of mould
- Pete (8/5): One night stay, large comfortable bed - The man on reception (Anthony) was very pleasant and helpful. The room was very clean and spacious. Ample parking. The decor needs a bit of attention
- Qureshi (1/5): dont recommended - nothing it was very old property it was stink everywhere even walking in corridor old furniture ripped of sofas and they give us the room first wherw already person staying
- Rizwan (4/5): Not a great experience - Just the price Heating wasn’t working it was cold night even asked @ for reception turn this on but nothing happened second hair dryer was no working no direct no to reception and intercom etc
- Louis (6/5): Handy for a cheap night in Manchester - Cheap...cheerful Power points not very convenient, door eye holes removed and stuffed with paper, some evidence of damp in the bathroom....pillows not very good
- Waheed ullah (3/5): -
- kenneth (5/5): - Location. A couple of pubs, shops and restaurants nearby. Basic room, with a basic very firm twin beds put together. Cheap flat pillow each. Restless nights sleep.
- Hayley (1/5): Avoid at all costs noy safe or clean - Price was apealling but don't be fooled Do not stay here. This place operates more like a hostel, but without even the most basic standards of hygiene or safety.
We didn’t read the reviews beforehand—we were simply looking for a basic, Travelodge-style room to rest our heads for the night. That was our mistake.
The first room we were given had visible urine stains on the bed. We were moved, only to find the second room covered in pubic hair throughout the bedding. The third room was even worse—there was blood on the bed. It was absolutely disgusting.
We didn’t feel safe or comfortable staying, so we left and ended up paying an additional £150 to stay elsewhere in town. While the price here might seem appealing at around £50, it is not worth it—this is not a clean or safe environment. You are genuinely playing with your health staying here.
The staff were unhelpful and argumentative when we raised concerns, and the manager refused to communicate in English, which made the situation even more frustrating. Reception itself had flies, which says everything about the overall cleanliness.
If you look on TripAdvisor, believe the reviews—we didn’t, and that was our mistake.
I’ve genuinely stayed in fields cleaner than this. The state of the bedding alone makes your skin crawl, and it seriously makes you question what goes on here—it felt more like a knocking shop than a hotel.
Avoid at all costs.

- Kimberley (3/5): Would of been better staying in the car for the night. - To be honest the only thing we liked was 1 guy who was working there as he was friendly. The room and bathroom was really dirty.
The bath and shower was that dirty none of us while use it.
The beds are really uncomfortable we did ask for us all to be able to have another pillow but they would only give us another 2 despite being 4 of us. 1 pillow which is really flat was awful the sleep was awful.
The kettle had all black burnt stuff in it but the guy did change it for a clean one.
I phoned ahead and let them know we would need a bottom room as they have no lifts as 1 of our party is disabled in a wheelchair and has very little use of walking but on arrival we were meant to be on second floor.
There's mould all in the bathroom and stains everywhere.
In the room there's stuff thrown and stained up the walls.
Tele wouldnt work properly.
Considering we had a long drive and hoped to rest at the hotel this wasn't the case due to lack of sleep. Neck aches and back aches thanks to the facilities.
There isn't anything really close for food so you need to drive.
The walls and ceilings are so thin you can hear everything and unfortunately we had people staying either side of our room and above us.
- Gavin (10/5): Great stay and very helpful staff - Quiet and clean, also large rooms with plenty of space
- Harmandeep (10/5): -

Location ideal Very dirty carpets. Never seen anything like. If you asthmatic avoid.
No breakfast facilities
Creaking floor boards from rooms above. You can hear people’s every move and turn on the bed…literally.

- Rabia (6/5): HONEST Review for Middleton inn hotel. - The hotel is nice. Price is fair according to how rooms are. The location is Good I just don't like there check out times and they are not flexible. There check out time is 10am and if you take another hour or something than you have to pay 10£ every hour. Which I think is not Good. As part of customer service you need to be little flexible if possible. As others in the area do cooperate.
- Kibria (6/5): - Shows it's age. Reception wasn't 24 hour as it was written.

- Maryna (2/5): Not recommend - Location Bad experience. At reception, when checking in, we've been asked or told that we'll be on the ground floor. We didn't object because we thought it was for one night only and it didn't matter. And it did! I couldn't sleep because of the screeching floorboards when the guest above was walking, its terrible and very loud noise. The hotel has to deal with it asap, because it's so bad. The room and the bathroom were not clean, which is also disappointing. The receptionist should let us know that they have issues with the floors and not just ask if it's ok for us to stay on the ground floor with the possibility that someone will be walking above at night and we won't be able to sleep. We stayed there as a family and my daughter couldn't sleep either. It was unbearable. They can't treat the customers like this. Think 5 times before booking this place. There is a possibility that you won't have a chance to rest.
