- Irwangafoer (10/5): Spent 2 night for old and new at Grand Zuri Malioboro - Spent 2 night for new year 2025 celebration, the Grand Zuri hotel was an option which has strategic location/near Jl. Malioboro. The Staff at front desk has served us very well and warm hearted. For the price is quite expensive but it is due to the peak season period. The room is tidy and clean. But for next visit I will choose at high floor i/o level 3 which no has scenery. When the breakfast time, I enjoy for the food which has many option. A bit problem is regarding the parkibg lot which has limited for both upper and lower level. I have to park my car at the yard beside the hotel. But it is oke since the security will keep the car safe. Nice experience to spend 2 night at Grand Zuri Hotel Malioboro.

Anfängliche Sprachprobleme der Mitarbeiter wurden im Nachgang mit dem Manager besprochen das Grundkenntnisse in Englisch geschult werden müssen und es keine Diskussion zwischen „Rain“ und „Train“ und anderen einfachen Themen gibt. Desweiteren schliessen die Zimmertüren nicht vollständig weshalb es nachts zu dauerhaften Beleuchtung ins Zimmer kommt, zuzüglich dem ständigen Fahrstuhlklingeln. Ziemlich nervend. Türen bitte neu machen und Schall- und Lichtdicht umbauen. Wenn diese Probleme behoben werden kann es mehr Punkte geben

- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotellet ligger meget centralt og tæt på togstationen, så det er nemt at komme rundt til seværdigheder. Også rigtig god kundeservice og stort morgenbuffet. Men mit værelse var desværre direkte ud til poolen, så der var meget lidt privacy hvis jeg ønskede at åbne gardiner. Hvis man bare ønsker et sted at sove, er det et fint sted. Værelset er ikke stort nok for to personer hvis begge ønsker at åbne kufferter samtidig.

- TravelDispatch (4/5): Not good enough; stay elsewhere - We stayed for 3 nights along our 11-day trip through Indonesia. There are multiple factors informing my review and the simple fact is that this was the least impressive hotel of the 4 we stayed with across Bali, Labuan Bajo, Yogyakarta, and Malang. It started with seemingly excessive correspondence via WhatsApp with what seemed like multiple staff asking about the same things and not coordinating with each other (airport pick up; hotel deposit; flight information). Their hotel website does not take payments and the staff wanted me to send my credit card information via email for payment and even requested a copy of my airline receipt for transfer; I refused both for obvious reasons of cybersecurity and protection of my personal information. They accepted my refusal and made an exception to allow me to pay upon arrival. However, I don’t think they understand the risk and significance of bumping one email hack away of compromising their guests’ credit card and personal information… Our room keys didn’t work after check in so we had to return back to lobby to get keys fixed. Our room (746) had a nice view of the pool and surrounding street and horizon. It was cozy (small), but perfectly adequate. Throughout our stay we were not provided with any face or hand towels, only bath towels that appeared dingy and looked a bit aged. The bed was very firm, the minibar was locked refrigerator and continually had its light on shining into our room throughout the night. Nice big desk area for placing and staging things. But overall, hotel room and common areas seem a bit dated and becoming run down. We arranged for an airport pick up through the hotel for 420k IDR (~$25). We booked a taxi for our return to the airport directly with the front desk, but then were told via WhatsApp the taxi’s were all booked up so they couldn’t do it. Rather than provide an alternate solution, i had to go back and forth with them several times via WhatsApp to confirm them to book a ride via a ride share app. Sure enough, the following morning we found out they hadn’t booked anything and we had the book via the Grab app that morning for 280k IDR; so how was it 420k to pick us up the first time?!?! It should also be noted transportation times to and from the airport vary significantly; it could take 1-2 hours depending on time of day and direction. Upon check out they also tried to say we had taken a large water from the minibar; which I promptly let them know we had been locked out of the minibar throughout our entire stay. That apologized and did not charge us. Overall, the great location cannot overcome the quality of the hotel (dingy towels, stiff bed, creaky and worn out couches in lobby, etc), and inconsistent and poor coordination amongst staff. I would absolutely not stay there again or recommend anyone else doing so. The most concerning part is that they are probably one email hack away from potentially exposing guest personal and credit card details; there’s no excuses for not having a secure payment portal or changing their procedure for prepayment.

The bed is less comfertable. Air conditioner not cool enough. The minibar is not working. The bathroom is small. These rooms are not clean and are not worth for the amount paid. The electric kettle was not cleaned for ages. Even there was a cockroach in the room!
- Mohammad (10/5): The staff and the service were amazing,definitely will come back. - We got room upgrades from one of the lady at the front office, The staff were very kind and helpful, the restaurant staff were very friendly and professional, the manager were attentive and came to our table to ask the feedbacks, The staff at the pool very helpful to find my son’s toys which was drowned, one of the concierge “arjuna” was kind and very polite to assist us to drop to train station. We were amazed with all the services, we were family with 6 members,and they really took care of us, Definitely will come back. Would be great if the hotel can improve the Viennoiserie section at the breakfast

- Sarah (8/5): Great 2 night stay! - Very close to Yogyakarta train station & well located for the Malioboro area. The room was comfortable & staff very helpful & friendly. There was a huge choice at breakfast & it was very tasty. The only downside was that we didn’t know what some of the food was as there was no English translation so it was a case of trying it, all part of the adventure! We asked for a breakfast box on one morning as we had a 4am trip booked & this was ok. The only downside with the room was that it was very bright in the morning as there were no curtains just roller blinds. These did not cover the window properly so make sure you bring an eye mask!

The sound of the trains were quite lout at night, because of the near train station. Windows should be isolated better, to not wake up at night.

By the time I stayed here, there was a renovation of their restaurant, so it's kinda annoying--it affected the payment system handling to be kinda slow. They also used to have 'Delman' for the city tour, but not anymore, and it's kinda sad (although you still can rent it at a city tourism center like Malioboro or Stasiun Tugu). The rest is still as good as it is.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location & breakfast - Great location on Malioboro street and great breakfast buffet. Room is decent size but bathroom is a little rundown and room could have been cleaner - stains on sheets, coffee station hadn’t been wiped down, blinds dirty. It’s right on Malioboro so can be loud at night if that bothers you. Staff was not as helpful or knowledgeable as at other hotels in Indonesia. For example, when I had problems getting a Grab taxi to the airport they offered a very expensive private car, but o was able to go outside and hail my own taxi for same price as Grab and one-tenth the price as private car. So If you are reliant on hotel staff for assistance, tours, etc, might be challenging or very expensive.

The rooms are a good size and have all necessary amenities. I was able to work using my laptop at the desk and wifi was good. Bathroom is a good size. Breakfast was very good for an Indonesian hotel. I would be happy to stay here again.

The hotel staff were polite and efficient. They organized a day tour of the temples and airports transfers all very effectively. The room had very basic facilities more 3 star than 4 as claimed. Would I stay there again, probably not.

Only complaint was noise from traffic in the street below, this was more noticeable on Saturday night which was very busy than Sunday night which was much less busy and may not be so much of an issue during the week.

It was a 3 mins walk to the main street (Maliaboro) and walking distance to the tourist attractions. But the best thing was how nice the people were. In particular Arif, he went the extra mile to help us, it was great and very helpful to have him there.

- Mike (10/5): Great hotel in center Yogyakarta - Comfortable, clean hotel with friendly staff. Great value. The free breakfast has lots of choices including traditional Javanese cuisine. It is more like a brunch. Very convenient location, walkable to all city center attractions. Instead of doing a day trip from Bali, I would recommend spending the night at this hotel and then back to Bali the next afternoon. It is quite an experience checking out the Malioboro night market and its street food scenes. Yogyakarta offers much better value than Bali, and the traffic is also much better.

- Jack (8/5): Great choice for stay in Malioboro area - Location is just about 5 minutes walk from famous Malioboro street and also a train station. It is also walkable to Sultan Palace (Keraton) and Tugu Jogja. Towels were bit yellowish so we decided to use ours. However, the room is clean in general. Service-wise, every staff was full of smile, polite and helpful in answering our queries. We tried their food and beverage as well. Although it was much more pricey as compared to what local people usually spend on a meal, but the serving is generally bigger and in good taste.
