Guest Reviews
Heel fijn verblijf gehad
- OLIVIER (8/5): Du charme - Lieu charmant, bon accueil, chambre spacieuse, possibilité billard, babyfoot, piscine, espaces exterieurs entretenus, poneys
- Edmund (10/5): - Charming environment with lots of space.
- James (10/5): - Stunning setting with trees and fields and horses. Nice pool, open all day. Very spacious rooms.
- Paul (10/5): - Close to the Dieppe ferry so perfect for an easy stop over. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good but if I was going to to be over critical there was no gluten free options apart from the fruit but this is the same at most similarly priced hotels. We will be back for a linger stay in the future. We arrived late and were given the code for the gate and a number to call when we got to tge reception.
- olga (10/5): - Great value stay
- Scott (10/5): - Fantastic service and value for money
- Jim (10/5): Excellent stay - Fantastic and welcoming chateau. The sauna and pool were superb, and the room was very good. We felt so relaxed and comfortable. The hostess looked after us and ensured we had a nice breakfast.

- Kasey (10/5): Very nice pre ferry trip stay! - We were really only there for about 8 hours due to a delayed arrival but the owner was very helpful and opened the pool so we could swim after a long drive.
- Bonita (2/5): - We arrived and couldn’t enter the property as the gate was closed and no answer on the intercom. Eventually someone drove out and we managed to enter.
In reception there was no one available, we tried to call the hotel and got no answer. After searching the building and grounds there was no one at all on site.
We couldn’t check in and had no choice but to leave and find an alternative accommodation at 9pm with 2 children.
A recommander.
- BDC (4/5): - Garden full of weeds, outside infrastructure rusty and very dirty, inside pool NOT inviting to use. Unprofessional reception and the house dog barking below our room till 23u30 in the evening. Breakfast standard with dated fruits. Mailed in advance to inform on possible surprises for our daughters birthday...did't even get a reply. So very disappointing stay!
- Phil (10/5): - Beautiful chateau and our host was delightful!
Wish we had longer to stay!
- Jeffrey (10/5): Comfort & Charm. - Charming and comfortably, will stay again and maybe bring my swimming shorts as thea pool looks lovely.
- Darren (10/5): One night on a French farm - Amazing tranquility in a beautiful setting. The idolic location in the countryside of Normandy breathtaking
- Gareth (8/5): Family-friendly B&B in annex of an old Chateau - Characterful and well kept B&B in quiet village 15 mins drive from Dieppe. Nice (saltwater) indoor pool, table football and grounds for kids to run around in. Owner is friendly and attentive to her guests. Make sure your mobile is charged if checking in late as there is no doorbell ; )
- Louisa (10/5): Love this hotel - I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. We stayed in a comfortable, spacious, airy and clean family room with a double and two single beds. It has a separate toilet and bathroom. We swam in the pool and used the sauna. Our children played pool and would have used the trampoline and table tennis table and goals if we’d stayed longer.
The owner was so friendly, helpful and welcoming. It is such a charming place. The breakfast was simple but with bread/toast, cereals, pastries, yogurts, fruit, cheese and a range of jams (plus hot drinks and juice) it’s hard to think of anything else it needed. If you like big hotels with a huge buffet then you might be disappointed. But this place is intimate and charming and we will definitely return. Especially as it’s well placed for a pit stop on the return to Calais.
- Martin (8/5): Highly recommended - Room was clean and beds very comfortable. We had a large family room with separate twin room inside. We enjoyed using the pool and sauna in the evenings. Continental breakfast was included. Was good, but I would personally have liked cooked meats to be available as part of it.
- kitty (10/5): Charming place - We spent a very comfortable night prior to taking the ferry at this glorious chateau. We stayed in the old part that has been very sympathetically restored. Very well appointed room, delightful host and lovely grounds to wander round. Breakfast was good and we also had a swim in the pool. Our host recommended a restaurant for dinner nearby which met very expectation. We would definitately stay here again.
- JIM (10/5): Weekend in Dieppe - Quiet, green setting in chateau grounds. Helpful, friendly proprietor ; English spoken.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - As advertised
- Christian (10/5): Gorgeous and secluded vacatio spot. - We had an amazing stay for our weekend in and around the Dieppe area The staff was friendly and very accomodating even thoiugh we showed up a bit early. Breakfast was awesome every day and the room and facilities were great. A bit off the beaten path but easy to find via gps. Very secluded, private and very quiet which allowed for excellent nights of sleep and relaxation.
- Virginie (10/5): Bucolic dream - It was so bucolic that we would have liked to stay longer!
I feel the check-in time and check-out should be extended: earlier check-in and a bit later check-out!
We did manage to negotiate a late check-out of 30 minutes!
The premises were super clean, the atmosphere child-friendly and the owner was very pleasant and polite, all of these made us feel comfortable.
Special note for the swimming pool, such a great extra!
- Elizabeth (8/5): Wish we could have stayed longer! - We stayed here whilst visiting friends in Dieppe, and as a consequence didn't make use of or enjoy the facilities as much as we would have liked. Nice pool, hot tub, sauna - and only managed a brief swim! Lovely room, lovely chateau, peaceful location apart from the lovely, noisy owls. Would have liked to have stayed longer and will definitely return. Top marks to the owners for turning this chateau from a ruin to a hotel in 8 years!
- patrick (10/5): - great welcome, great facilities, sauna, swimming pool, football pitch, walks
- RJG (8/5): A lovely simple hotel. - Stunning building in a great setting. Full of character and large grounds for children to play in. Only shortfall, it doesn't provide meals (less a continental breakfast), which means going to Dieppe for food.
Would definitely go back.
- richard (10/5): Wonderful stay near dieppe - Fantastic hotel. Warm welcome. Excellent facilities, lovely room with comfortable bed. Would definitely recommend and will be staying there again
- Bas (8/5): Old Chateau converted to Gites and rooms - It was not quite what I expected, the rooms were large and spacious but no restaurant, had to travel for evening meal, and breakfast a little choiceless.
Probably better for people in the Gites accomodation
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely place close to dieppe - Very lovely B and B with a great host
- Georgia K (8/5): Beautiful pool, lovely setting - Certainly away from any crowds! Lovely place to decompress. Owner knows just a little English but was charming and accommodating. Room was spacious and crisply decorated.
- Barbara (10/5): Fabulous stay - I stayed here for one night with my friend. We were made most welcome by the owner. Rooms were delightful, fresh and gorgeous linens.
Nothing was too much trouble , thoroughly recommend .
- Jonathan (10/5): Good quality accommodation in chateau grounds - An enjoyable one night stay at the Le Chateau de Greges. The accommodation is in recently converted buildings attached to the main chateau, which appears to be the home of the family that run the accommodation. The rooms are very tastefully furnished as is the lounge/dining area. The grounds are extensive and I am sure would be great for children to play in. The owner was very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. The continental breakfast included a good selection of items.
- Tony (10/5): A lovely place to stay - We stayed after an afternoon crossing to Dieppe so didn't arrive until 11 pm but still had a very warm welcome. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast as expected for a French hotel. Perhaps it should be made clearer that the rooms are not actually in the château though.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stop off before returning home - Le Chateau de Greges was a great little find for a one night stop over before returning home. The staff were very welcoming and the family room was very spacious with a separate twin bedded room for the children. We had no problems being in the modern annex and the indoor pool was a nice bonus. The children loved the grounds and the ponies and goats. There were not many local restaurants but Dieppe has them in plenty if you don't mind the short drive.
- Verified traveler (10/5): idyllic place to stay - We booked this because we liked the idea of staying in a chateau but were not prepared for how lovely it would be. Everything was spotless and tastefully decorated. the charm of the old chateau remained even though the rooms and bathrooms were modern and efficient. the added benefit of a swim in the indoor pool after our long drive was lovely.
the chateau was a 5 minute drive from Dieppe and very convenient for the ferry. wish we could have stayed longer.
- johanna (10/5): A Great Place to Stay - We had a great break here. It was perfect for the ferry, the rooms were very clean and comfortable and we all had the best sleep. The proprietor was most helpful and welcoming. Lots to do for little kids and teenagers loved the pool. We didn't want to leave!
- sheila (8/5): last stop before getting the ferry back home - we booked 2 nights as we had a long drive pre getting there and a long drive back in the uk. The room was very big and spacious and you are able to make tea and coffee in the kitchen area.
The owners are very nice and friendly.
Breakfast is included but very limited, and on the 2nd day there was less, having spent 7 weeks away and stayed in all sorts of hotels, villas etc, I did find this let it down.
- Mark (10/5): Fantastic stop over for family of four - Used Le chateau de greges as a stop over on the to visiting family in central France. very friendly family run hotel in a lovely peaceful location. perfect spacious family room, the kids enjoyed the small indoor pool, and playing in the large grounds. Great breakfast. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. superb!
- Nic (8/5): Great Potential - This developing hotel in a former chateau was being re-developed when we arrived and due to be completed in 2015. The staff were very helpful and directed us to an excellent restaurant for our evening meal as the facilities were not yet ready.
Our family room was newly re-furbished and awaiting the finishing touches, but with a separate twin-bedded room for the children gave a feeling of space.
Signage to the hotel was non-existent; but maybe this will follow when building works are complete.
Will definitely consider a re-visit if we return to this area of France
- Joe (10/5): Beautifully restored chateau, great amenities. - Perfect place to explore Dieppe and Normandy. Plenty of space for kids to run around. Lovely pool and sauna. Breakfast was nice and simple. We felt welcomed from the minute we arrived, and would definitely return.
- Familyguy (10/5): Just great - Very easy to find just outside Dieppe. Great room for 2 adults and 2 kids, comfortable with loads of space. Pool is big enough to swim in.
- rtfq (10/5): Great family Dieppe stopover - Spotless, roomy and comfortable family suite one double, two singles) set in beautiful grounds a short drive from central Dieppe. Helpful and hospitable welcome and the breakfast was included. Recommended for a stopover before the ferry or on the way back to the Eurotunnel from Normandy/Brittany.
- Jonathan (10/5): Great location - I chose the chateau for its proximity to Dieppe where I was meeting my family from the ferry. The rooms are in a modern annex to the chateau and are extremely well-equipped and comfortable . There are large grounds, an indoor pool and wifi . The breakfast is of a high standard and the owner is very hospitable .
- nicky (10/5): wonderful find - Beautiful place, lovely room. We arrived in time to enjoy the pool. Went short drive in to dieppe for wonderful fish meal by the harbour. Choose the one recommended by the chateau, New Haven. Easy drive back to channel tunnel. Highly recommended.
