- Catriona (10/5): - This was a great hotel that had a little kitchenette and made it very easy to self cater. Only a very short walk to the old town in Avignon.
- Carmen (10/5): - In addition to good accommodations, the location was just outside the walled old town. The town center was about a 2.5 one way walk. It was a plus being able to close the bedroom doors to separate the bedroom from the living room and kitchen. There is a grocery store just outside the hotel fence. About the old town: The economy in the city seemed to be a bit depressed with a number of storefronts closed permanently. While we took a break at the public park across the street from the police station, we observed several drug deals taking place. We made a personal decision not to be out after dusk. And an FYI, there is a free mini bus that will pick you up near the Thiers entrance outside the wall and take you as far as Place Pie in city center.
- David (10/5): - Excellent location for exploring Avignon, supermarket next door for all supplies needed. Helpful reception staff. Very tight entrance to underground carpark for larger cars.

- Samuel (6/5): Great value for large room, but terrible AC - Great price for basically an apartment, as there’s kitchen and bathroom. Close to everything. But AC is really really bad. Why have AC if it can’t go lower than 23 degrees? It got hot fast and had to leave window open, inviting lots of bugs in, and I got bit all over at night, which ruined my night.

- Mattias (10/5): Amazing location and very comfortable! - Amazing location and very comfortable, charming and well equipped. We booked last minute and were so happy to find it. Literally there isn't a better location. If younhave a car, 2 parking lots within a couple blocks either way. Be aware that it is on the 3rd floor with no elevator (typical for the older buildings downtown). Will stay again next time we visit Annecy.

- Connie (10/5): Very satisfactory apart'hotel - Our apartment was comfortable, clean, and well-situated. A slight problem we had was finding the parking lot for our rented car. We did not realize that there were two lots and we did not find the loading zone during check-in. But everything worked out given a little extra time and a bit of patience. The staff all spoke English, which helped us a lot. The restaurants were within a 20-minute walk away. All in all, this apart'hotel was a great stay.

- Wan Suen (10/5): - The hotel is very clean and the staffs are friendly. A supermarket is behind the hotel, you can buy what you needed.
- Ben (10/5): Location location location! - Right outside the city wall, with a free electric bus to take you into town, and a supermarket in the same building. People were very nice, super helpful. Breakfast was also good. The place needs a few repairs, but the staff were helpful in trying to fix, and if unsuccessful gave us new rooms. Parking (paid) on site also a convenience if making this a base for day trips, as we did. A few funky rules such as take out your trash and wash your own dishes before checkout, but we were fine with that.
- Dale (10/5): - It was a great place to stay! Only a 20 minute walk to the Papal tour (a wonderful experience) and right across from the Papal village. The room had everything we needed including bike storage, kitchen and well thought out extras. The grocery store was a two minute walk. There was an abundance of restaurants in the Papal Village.
- ROCIO (6/5): - Ok for a night or two , bring your own shampoo, body wash and hand soap. They provide one for all horrible stuff to take a shower and wash your hands and hair

The property seems to be student residences as well as hotel and has laundry facilities, safe bicycle storage, recycling, an exercise room and breakfast for an extra fee, which we didn't do. The bed was comfy, the kitchen was fine, the shower was great, the room was very spacious, but with a characterless, unadorned feel. Still, over all, good value.

- Susan (10/5): - Room was clean and great for solo traveller. The location is a little far from city center, but is definitely walkable to city center and the train station. Location is quiet and safe, and there’s a grocery store right beside the building so very convenient. The shower was a bit small and nowhere to put the shower gel, so it was a bit difficult to place my things. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The reception is limited hours, but I didn’t find that to be a problem. Overall I would recommend!

- Kathleen (6/5): - If driving a car, it is difficult to locate. Had to park at least one kilometre away and walk to locate it. Then charged 15 euros to park. Dearest. Everyone else charges 10 euros. Won’t accept you till their stated hours so checkin is problematic - too many people wanting a room. Expectation that you bring you rubbish down with you on exit, take your bags to the car and then return your key. No real service.

It has cheap laundry facilities on site. Small kitchenette. Secure building and parking. It feels like a dorm but we loved that.

- Ilka (10/5): Highly recommended - Great stay, big rooms compared to others in Europe, convenient to walk around and a supermarket next to. Is fine for the price, it was clean and comfortable. The only thing was you must take your garbage or they will charge 20€ and parking is 12€ Free public parking very close but I preferred to have it right there because of luggage and kids.
- Susan (10/5): This apart'hotel is a home from home - Apart'Hotel Sainte-Marthe is right in the middle of Avignon, modern, spotlessly clean, has every amenity, ie, fridge, comfortable bed, dining table and chairs, air-con., kitchen utensils and crockery. Reception staff exceptionally helpful and welcoming; and the stylish reception area created an instant good impression. There is a private, secure parking area available for 12 euros per day, however it is not large and the parking spaces were snug. We returned to our car on the second day to find a maintenance van had reversed so close to the back of our car his tow bar was pushed under our bumper. We reported it to reception and fortunately the driver was in the building and removed the whole tow bar assembly. This allowed us to drive away without leaving our bumper behind! The driver was apologetic and we left on good terms, with no more than a ripple on our bumper. We loved the location and Avignon. I would use this Apart'Hotel again and would like to return to this beautiful city as there is so much to see.

It’s located adjacent to the old city and easy to find. Being close to the University meant our fellow guests were diverse and vibrant.

Dont be fooled by the reception area your accommodation is nothing like that. We went back to the reception the following morning to ask for a refund as it was closed when we left, but was told they could only rectify the situation, as no-one was available i fail to see how they could do that and in the absence of a demolition team i find the task would have required more than a spray of air freshers, it was the whole place, the overwhelming smell of stale cigarettes in a non smoking area was nauseating and i could smell what i can only describe as a mixture of vomit and excrement through the corridor. I have tried emailing all the available links, i want my money back so i can erase this unfortunate experience of beautiful Avignon from my memory. I booked through Expedia so your help to get a refund would be appreciated

- Verified traveler (10/5): - These are student dorms that are rented out in the summer so they come equipped with everything you need. The proximity to the old town is excellent. As well, there is a grocery store right around the corner. The hotel was very well run and we would not hesitate to return.
- Gáspár (4/5): Dirty hotel in industrial area despite pix - Room dirty and even after we complained, it was not fully cleaned. The bed was clean and comfortable though.

- David H. (10/5): Did not stay because of COVID-19 - We were not able to travel because of flight restrictions and concern for our safety and health. The host did not receive our VRBO emails. They had no idea we had initially (immediately after booking) emailed them from VRBO internal email system that we would be showing up late. It seems VRBO booked this site through Expedia and that is what the host was using for their booking system, not VRBO. We were also not able to cancel this booking, like we were with AirBnB and get our money back. This is a shame on VRBO!

Close to gd supermarket. Fab view from balcony. Spacious bathroom, comfy bed. Hand towel would have been useful and a toaster.
- Marcela (10/5): Convenient and comfortable place to stay - We booked a family suite and it was very comfortable since it was well equipped. This appart-hotel is in a good / convenient location infront of Avignon university. We arrived very late but check in process was easy. Only thing is that if you will arrive after 8pm you need to let hotel know.

- Thomas (2/5): Cockroaches & indifferent service - Unfortunately a very poor experience overall. A number of factual items on the description page are not true (no air conditioning in the room - which was a problem when it was hovering around 40 Celsius during the day and the windows would not open). The "Hotel" is in fact student accommodation with commensurate quality of the room and loud noises late through the night. There is also a requirement to wash all cutlery and empty rubbish bins before departure. Most importantly, our room was full of cockroaches which got through our luggage and left us with cockroach bites. On the morning we found them, the reception was not in fact open as advertised on the reservation page; there was a sign on the door advising that it was closed until 3PM so we couldn't do anything about it. When we returned in the evening they moved us to a different room fairly rapidly, but seemed totally indifferent about it. I then never heard any further communication from the management despite the desk agent advising that she would log the issue and I'd hear back. By this point of course the cockroaches had got further into our luggage, and we later found them in the rental car. Overall poor quality accommodation with basic factual errors on its online description. Clearly poor quality level of cleanliness backed up by limited reception hours and a complete lack of attentiveness in their service. I would not stay again; the prices are not that cheap relative to nearby accommodation.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - 30 minute queue to check in. They need to modernize the system to make it faster or have reception open for more than 4 hours. You also don't get much of a personal touch as it's impossible to ask the receptionist even simple questions because the lines are always long. The facilities are good otherwise. I would return but with the understanding the assistant is limited. No towels were changed or rooms cleaned during our stay.
- Karen (10/5): Comfortable, clean and affordable. - Apart’Hotel Saint-Marthe was an excellent value in Avignon. I visited recently on a bike tour, and had a very pleasant stay. After I made the booking, I had an unexpected change of itinerary and had to cancel the second night of a two-night stay. Even though it was after the deadline for a change, the staff was very accommodating and facilitated the change, authorizing a refund of the second night through hotels.com. I arrived shortly after the office opened, and there was a line for check-in. While waiting, I heard the receptionist communicate flawlessly in four different languages. She was very courteous and professional. On a hot day, the room was cool and refreshing when we arrived. The Wifi was fast with no connection issues. They have a bike room to store bikes inside the building, giving me piece of mind that our bikes would be safe during our stay. The location is very convenient, just outside the city wall. There is a large grocery store directly under the hotel, and a kitchenette in the room. I regretted not being able to stay the second night of my stay and hope I get a chance to stay at Apart’Hotel Saint-Marthe again in the future.

We were booked for 4 adults but only 3 towels were left in the bathroom. I contacted the housekeeper who said they would bring another towel in a few minutes but hours later it was delivered.

- Susan (10/5): Just fine! - This is a basic but just fine place to stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good. It is very close to the TGV station but if you want to go to Avignon you need a car. There may be a bus but I didn't check that out. Times for check in are restricted so you have to be aware of that.

- james (2/5): BLACK MOLD/DIRTY - First off, we're not a picky family. We travel a lot. We expect a hotel to be commensurate with how much it costs. We paid $160 for this room. It was worth $0. The young lady at the desk was the only good part about this hotel and was very apologetic. As we enter the room, it stunk like old socks. As we investigate the smell, we see patches of black mold all over the ceiling in the bathroom. As I'm looking at that, my 11 year old son calls me into his room that he would be sharing with his brother to reveal more black mold! At this point I'm mortified as my younger son suffers from asthma and this will certainly affect him. I call the manager and send him pictures of the mold. He apologizes and says he'll have his cleaning manager address it tomorrow. I ask him for another room and he informs me that they are fully booked. We called all around town to try and get another room but every hotel is booked. The manager only offered us 30% off the original price. We will be calling the French health department and hotels.com to try and remove this hotel from their database. If you are thinking of staying here, for your health and your family's health, dont!!!! The pictures below are of the bathroom, kids room and disgusting freezer.

The location is great, near buses and a grocery store. The wifi worked perfectly! Very happy about that. We walked all around the old walls, starting just across the street, very handy. It was nice to have a fridge and microwave and access to laundry. Super place to stay!

- Verified traveler (4/5): Not a hotel by any stretch! - This is not a hotel.....guests must take their own trash out. The shower heads are mounted three feet off the ground which is inconvenient for taking a normal shower. Guests are given just ONE towel each and must pay for a hand towel, crazy! Had booked three balcony rooms but Paulo at the front desk could not find three so had only two balcony rooms. Poor service at the front desk and no phone to call front desk. No deadbolt on the inside of the guest room nor a do not disturb sign.

- Robin (10/5): Good apartment to visit Avignon with secure parkin - This is a well situated and comfortable apartment. It has secure parking. It is a short walk (10mins) into town. It comes across as well organised.
- George (10/5): Close to the walled City - I had one of the apts with balcony that overlooked the University and had the Palais des Papes in the background perfect for enjoying a relaxing drink with a perfect view. Also there is a supermarket on the doorstep which has a great selection of everything that you might need.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Student residence turned into hotel - The room is very basic but it had everything you need. It would have been nice to know about the “check out” rules before booking. For example, you have to take all your garbage down to the trash area before departure. You have to do all your dishes. You have to keep the sheets and furniture absolutely clean. Otherwise, they fine you.

- John (8/5): Great value and location - We had a great stay. Our apartment was excellent value and we were lucky enough to have our own terrace with a view over the city walls and to the old city in the distance. Cooking and washing up facilities are small but there is everything you need to cook simple meals and breakfast in the sunshine each day was great. The bathroom is again simple and functional. You are given clean towels every couple of days but are left alone otherwise. Air con is limited to 23°C minimum which was fine for us and a good compromise between comfort and energy saving. We got some noise from the public outdoor terrace immediately next to us but it wasn’t every night. We weren’t much disturbed by road noise either despite being above the ring road. Recycling information and facilities were not good. I think this is more of an Avignon issue than the fault of Sainte-Marthe. More information to explain what was going on would have been appreciated. We would book again if we go back to Avignon.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Low showerhead. - Had an issue with shower as the shower head was no where near head height and no option to put higher, okay for a kid but not adults and especially no good to wash hair!! Kitchen good. Loved terrace, ate dinner there while watching sunset one night. Parking is limited but free parking 10 mins away. The location was okay as we did not mind walking, it is 15 mins at least from center walled town.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Bas experience - Rooms need to be updated and cleaned deeply. The room smelled really bad (probably the previous guest cooked fish or seafood). Relative to other apart-hotels of the same price this is the worst in which we stayed in during our trip. Staff is friendly and the location is good though.
