- William (10/5): - Welcomed by a sweet couple who were very attentive to any possible needs. The home and room are lovely, super clean, well kept and quiet. Our host, Clement, was a storehouse of information regarding the area, and fun to chat with as he is a wine maker and quite knowledgeable about the history of locally produced wines. Without doubt, we would gladly stay there again.
- Michelle (10/5): Peaceful vineyard stay - Absolutely wonderfully peaceful location with great hosts. I was bid "adieu" when I had to leave early in the morning by the resident kitty, which was an unexpected but welcome treat.

- Maureen (10/5): excellent stay at La Closerie de Fronac - Title: A Memorable Experience at La Closerie de Fransac
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My wife an had the pleasure of staying at La Closerie de Fransac, and must say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were envelop in a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home.
First and foremost, I want to express my sincere gratitude to Clement, the host of La Closerie de Fransac. His exceptional hospitality and attention to detail truly made my stay remarkable. Clement's passion for ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of his guests is evident in every aspect of this charming bed and breakfast.
One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to sample the exquisite wines produced at Clement's vineyard. The flavors were exceptional, and I was impressed by the quality and craftsmanship that went into every bottle. Clement's dedication to winemaking is apparent, and I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the process during a tour of the vineyard. It was an enriching experience that deepened my appreciation for the art of winemaking.
Additionally, the breakfast served at La Closerie de Fransac was simply outstanding. Each morning, we were treat to a delicious spread of fresh pastries, locally sourced fruits, and a variety of delectable dishes. The attention to detail and the use of high-quality ingredients were evident in every bite. It was a delightful way to start each day and provided the perfect energy to explore the surrounding area.

- Timothy (10/5): - We enjoyed a delightful two nights at this treasure of a B&B. Peaceful and quiet, surrounded by vineyards and is a working domaine vinicole where you can sample the lovely wines produced on the property. The helpful host taught us much about the local wines as well as wines from the larger Bordeaux region. We definitely want to come back!
- Olivia (10/5): - This property is so beautiful and peaceful. Such a dreamy place to stay! Felt like something out of a movie. The host made it an easy, comfortable, fun experience.
- Maggie (10/5): - La Closerie was a wonderful get away in the Bordeaux countryside. The home was beautiful and well cared for. Our host was wonderful and very helpful, offering to provide us with dinner the night of our arrival so we did not have to go back out after seven hours of driving. We were also able to enjoy some of the estate bottled wine with our dinner.
- sandra (10/5): - The whole experience was a great.
- Bruno (8/5): - The location of this B&B is great, and the view of the vineyard from our window was majestic. We were perhaps expecting a lot, but upon arrival in the fairly cold and rainy day, we thought we'd cosy up next to a fire in the fireplace of the common area, with the complementary glass of wine that was advertized. But there was no woodfire, and no complimentary wine.
- Roger (10/5): - Super nice people and the place is magical !
- Mary (10/5): - Loved all the buildings and furnishings. Wished they had a full curtain in bathroom.
- Heinz (10/5): BEAUTIFUL STAY IN BORDEAUX - We stayed in a beautiful furnished house in middle of the wineyards. The breakfast was fantastic - the hosts made us eggs brought us cheese and we got served croissants and bread with butter and 2 marmelade as much as we wanted.
The wine tour was privat and they accomondated our schedule. Host are very very friendly and very helpful.
- Cleveland (10/5): - Genial host, good wine, fine breakfast, beautiful antiques throughout the house. Good location from which to explore the vineyards and communities on eiterbank of the Gironde.
- Stephen (10/5): - This wad an old french farmhouse so take that into considetation when booking. I wanted a couple of days of peace and tranquility among the vineyards and i got what i wanted. I am a keen cyclist and i did a great 18 mile ride with 1800feet climbing without going on any busy roads
- Douglas (8/5): Wonderful location near Fronsac - Lovely little place close to Fronsac and some amazing wine! Clément made us very welcome and was able to provide evening meals with excellent wine. He also gave us good advice about visits and restaurants in the area.
- Rashid (10/5): - Very quiet and beautiful location and very hospitable host
- Suzanne (10/5): Privileged in sharing a beautiful home - A beautiful , homely building nestling amongst the vineyards of Fronsac. Everything as perfect from comfort to the home cooked meal and breakfast. The antique furnishings and and character of the building made a wonderful change from modern hotels .
We would like to stay for a week next time !
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We liked the whole concept of the property and environment - very atmospheric
Meet & Greet could have been more enthusiastic and buoyant
Breakfast good but a menu would have helped as we were introduced to the range of availability by increment.
Toiletries limited in range, towels could be replaced with new ones
Milk in fridge would have been nice
Would we go there again? Yes
- Kerry (8/5): - Owner was incredibly helpful. Fixed us dinner two nights when we didn't want to venture out late at night. Food was regional & excellent. He was always interested in helping us find hat we needed and sharing great tips about the area. This is an old "chateau, so don't expect crisp. Old is quaint, and modern facilities like the bathroom were very good.
A quiet, quaint getaway.
Great base for touring St. Emilion & wine tasting there. It's less than 20 minutes away.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent and cute place to stay in wine country. We had a very nice room with great amenities. The owner is very nice and helpful finding us fun and exciting places to visit.
- Catherine (10/5): - The Closerie is situated in the countryside beside a vineyard, very peaceful. The owners made us feel very welcome and made sure we had everything we needed. Our room provided adequate space with a very comfortable bed and no shortage of hot water for the shower.
Breakfast was provided each morning with fresh fruits, jams, croissants and granola and scrambled/fried eggs to choice. If we are back in the area, we would definitely stay at the Closerie again.
- Stephen (4/5): - I am not sure how to review my stay because we didn’t stay. We moved on without an alternative place to stay and too late to cancel, so we knew we would be paying double (once for wherever we ended up staying and once for the place we drove away from) for our stay in Saint-Emilion area. Before booking, I saw the pictures, I read the glowing reviews. I no longer believe them.
The place is not easy to find nor get to. It is also not a place you would want to drive back to on a pitch black night after dinner in town. I don’t remember what the star rating Hotels.com gave the place, but it was more than it deserved. OK, the place was clean, Our room was was also clean but absolutely minimalist, maybe 2 stars max. The bathroom was not pictured on Hotels.com and justifiably so. The stairs to the room were narrow with at least one turn; not something retirees, or really anyone, should have to deal with. Why do these places always send the oldest guests to the most difficult rooms to get to? There also seemed to be insufficient parking for the number of guests. The last spot was taken while we were being shown our room. Perhaps our view of this country "chateau" was jaded by the wonderful Loire Chateau we had just checked out of for the same price. Anyway, even though we didn't stay, first impression indicates the reviewers for this place are higher than deserved
- ann (10/5): Traditional French vineyard house. - Comfortable, friendly and typical French. Hotel owner very informative in recommending nearby restaurants and vineyard visits.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - So very French original. Great location to see many Chateaus. Owner was very cordial and knowledgeable.
- Steven (10/5): Nice B&B in the vineyards. - Great location, very quiet.Nice antique furnishings. Very friendly service at a reasonable price. This was our second stay.
- Michael (10/5): - We consider ourselves very lucky to have found this place.
- Junning (10/5): - It's a wonderful opportunity to stay in this beautiful Chateur. Our room faces the beautiful vineyard. It brings us not only the nice view, but a feeling of different environment for life. The owner is so friendly and kind. We had some pleasant chat about wine, local food, culture, etc. He actively offered us some great advices on points of interests to see and some great local restaurants. It's definitely a memorable stay!
- Margaret (10/5): Fronsac wine tasting stay in family chateau - Very nice in country area when driving as a ways out of Fronsac. Owner was like a concierge as calling for reservations to wine taste in area as well as his own wines. It was a special stay.
- Graeme (10/5): Quiet relaxed stay in beautiful old vineyard house - We stayed for two nights, though local restaurants were closed during the holiday period the host Clemont made a special effort to provide us with a wonderful evening meal eaten outside.
Locally produced cold meats and pate, French and Dutch cheeses finished off with local desserts (Clemont had to source these outside the local area specifically because we were celebrating our anniversary) and a bottle of the hosts own red wine.
Could not have wished for better.
- rania (10/5): Quiet peaceful - Clement and Alicia went out of there way to provide us with a lovely dinner even though we arrived quite late. Their wine is amazing so ate the rooms. Will definitely stay there again
- Georg (10/5): A Gem in the vineyards - Relaxing and serene, excellent wine, breakfast and hosts. They have a lovely kitty named "Darling". It is so peaceful and quiet... you can hear the grapes growing. :)
Close to Libourne where they have an outdoor market 3 times a week. Recommend a car if you want to explore -- or you can walk to some restaurants about 5 KM on the walking trails.
Highly recommend for a unique French experience.
- RAMIAH (10/5): Our stay at Closerie de Fronsac - An amazing property in the vineyards of Fronsac in Bordeaux region. Run by Clement with passion... Very artistic and kept very well... Also, the food is curated and personalised for ones stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay very much. It is located a beautiful area. The owners are very young hard woking and warm couple. We learned a lot about the area and wine making from the owner. The experience is unforgettable!
- Barbara (10/5): - This is a beautiful little place in the middle of the winery area. It was peaceful and clean. Close to quaint local eateries and activities. Our host Clement was extremely helpful with suggestions of places to go and what to see.
- clement (8/5): Visit the wine area of St Emilion in Bordeaux - The area was great for wine tasting . Our host Clement was great , helped us get appointments at various farms and told us where we should visit.
We were unlucky to get a loft room with a sloping ceiling. Accommodation was quite small ,there are larger rooms.
The mattress was not great , could do with a upgrade.
I would recommend any traveler that wants to visit wine farms in the area to do some homework and bookings prior to arrival as most visits are by appointment . The French do not have a open door policy and everything closes at 12 till 2pm and often 4 pm. Restaurants generally require a booking and if you arrive after 1:30 you will often not get served.
Great stay and area just complicated.Without our host we would have been lost.
- Pat (10/5): Charming chambre d'hotes with a feeling of history - We had a 10-day stay in ths chambre d'hotes in the wine country outside of Bordeaux. The owners were extremely welcoming & accommodating, the rooms lovely & comfortable, the breakfast a delicious continental breakfast. We were fortunate enough to be on the property for a mis-en-bouteille of the estate's wine.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Friendly B&B in good location - Lovely accommodation with friendly owners in good location
- Jeffrey (8/5): charming B&B - This is a charming, traditional property in a rural area not far from St. Emilion. Our room was spacious and comfortable, in an annex with a shard living room and kitchen. We enjoyed staying there,
- Kacy (10/5): Lovely stay - Lovely relaxing ..not high glamour but beautiful amd handy location
- Mohit (8/5): Exceptionally clean and comfortable. - Lives up to its existing reviews, its a very cute rustic cottage but best of all run with excellence , perfection and attention to detail. The owners are very sweet people and very professional at the same time, this is probably the cleanest property I have stayed at in my entire life. Big luxury hotels should learn from here how to manage a hotel. The rooms are beautiful, very warm , spacious and comfortable. Amazing place to relax. The breakfast was great too but I would only suggest the owners to add multigrain breads or healthier options, it was delicious food but we ended up eating a lot and putting on weight , not a bad thing though.
Highly recommend this place.
- Sharon (10/5): Host was very helpful, room was clean. - We enjoyed our stay with helpful host and comfortable room. Short drive to restaurants. Good for vineyard tours.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Traditional farmhouse set amongst vineyards - Beautiful house with tasteful furnishings. Host very friendly, and English speaking. Old world charm with creaky floorboards, separate lounge/ kitchen. Very quiet location but close to small town. Easy to find with satnav.
- Manuel (8/5): Wow Excellent Service! - This hotel is excellent with an amazing view. The service is the best and at a great price! They have their own vineyard and the owner gave us a kind of history of wine and as harvest, as to how he prepares it and drink it. Well a great deal!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - great overnight stay in a beautiful location, comfortable beds very quiet; host very helpful and a good continental breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely B and B in the most peaceful setting - A very French rural B and B. So so peaceful. Easy to access st Emilion and the vineyards. Clement was very helpful recommending great local restaurants and a chateau tour. Would recommend.
- mark (8/5): Boutique b&b amongst the vines - A charming and traditional b&b near to St Emilion which has it's own winery attached. The owner gave a quick but interesting tour of the winery along with a tasting of some of their own wines, these wines are available for purchase from the premises. The owner couldn't have been more helpful and spoke good English for those that don't have any French.Roms were warm clean and tidy but do lack tea/coffee making facilities but the owner was happy to make on request without any extra charges. Also as I was there on a Sunday night in February and without many evening dining options available he produced an evening meal at short notice. Would definitely return if in the area again.
- Jeremy (10/5): - A stunning little gem and the only regret was that we only had one night. The family run vineyard uses there house as a Hotel and I would recommend a stay here without hesitation. I went away with a case of their wine as well !
- Pen (8/5): Very enjoyable night amongst vinyards! - Tucked away from, but within an easy drive of the hustle & bustle of Bordeaux, we chose this hotel for a relaxing night and were not disappointed.
- joe (8/5): Lovely and quiet! - Very comfortable stay; delicious breakfast served when we wanted it served. Location tip: don't let gps take you through the little village; enter via the main road 1 km away.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Interesting old building - We enjoyed our one night stay on our way to Spain Lovely old building in a very quiet little village
- Jim (10/5): France trip 2015 - Extremely quiet location in the middle of miles of vineyards.Great place to relax and far from the noise of Paris. All amenities are accessible by car but there is little beyond the possibility of tasting wines at the numerous vineyards. The owner, the only staff, provides a basic breakfast with the room and discounts on his wine for those staying there.
- tanya (10/5): Fantastic! - My husband and I stayed at Closerie de Fronsac two days in two different rooms and loved everything about the place. The house is beatifully decorated in french provincial style. It is recently renovated and is absolutely spotless with wonderful antic furniture in every room. The proprietor of the place thought of every little detail to make his guests feel comfortable, from spacious and elegant bathrooms to pretty china in the bedroom for making tea, of which there is a huge assortment. Breakfast is served in a cosy dining hall and includes a selction of fruit, boiled eggs, nuts, yogurt, coffe and orange juice as well as usual croissant and baguette served with two flavors of marmalade.
The owner does not speak English but managed to give us good directions to restaurants and interesting sites nearby. The hotel is located in very scenic area of vineries and chateaus. We wish we could stay there longer, and we will definitely want return to closerie if we ever travel in this part of France.
- chris (8/5): - Had a great time at the hotel. Clemon the owners son (sorry about spelling)was extremely helpful and gave us a wine tasting one evening. Breakfast every morning was excellent. The beds do need to be changed because they are so hard. Other couple had the same complaint. It is not something that I would not go to the hotel over but thought I would note it. Many more things to do in the area. We stayed 3 days and were busy every day.
- gordon (8/5): Charming, rustic country stay - What a charming 'country stay'!
Once we had navigated our way out of Bordeaux, we were delighted to find our way to Libourne and then onto Fronsac, just a few kilometres away. We missed the turning to La Closerie de Fronsac, but that was soon rectified.
We were warmly welcomed and were made to feel very comfortable right away. My French is limited and the hosts do speak a little English, but that is part of the charm of travelling.
The rooms are very homely, are spotless and offer all the amenities required for a very pleasant stay.
We opted to buy food at the nearby Carrefour and had dinner on both nights in the rustic, but lovely garden overlooking the Vineyards; way better than any expensive restaurant. There is also a communal kitchenette for guests use.
I would most definitely recommend La Closerie de Fronsac for a wonderful, authentic farm house stay.
- John (10/5): Wonderful place to stay - The host and accommodation were absolutely fantastic with beautiful furniture and ambience to match. We absolutely loved the area and again our host could not be more helpful to assist us with planning and directions to visit beautiful Chateaus and French Towns.
- Albert (10/5): Charming place in Fronsac - highly recommended - Charming accommodation in a quiet location close to Libourne, St Emilion, etc. Alain is helpful but only speaks French. Room spacious with good facilities. Parking available outside. Enjoyable stay generally.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good stay, with a nice vineyard setting - Breakfast was very good. Few minor fixes to improve further; sufficient coffee/ tea supplies, ensure all lights work
- AA (10/5): In a dream; un reve - This hotel (b&b) wildly excelled my expectations. Beyond charming and the surrounding countryside looked like a magazine shoot. Too good to be true. And the bathroom was large and clean and the water pressure in the shower was strong and the hot water never ran out. If you've been to Europe before, you'll understand my dwelling on these points. Breakfast was great and I really appreciated the boiled eggs along with the typical croissant. A wonderful find!
