Visible dust on all edges of stained old carpet. Several areas of mold/mildew on the walls and ceiling in the bathroom. Spiderwebs visible in the bathroom. Front desk somewhat friendly. Breakfast area clean.

Most hotels are removing them (I’m assuming due to theft) and it’s inconvenient to always need to go to another section of hotel when needing hot water or coffee.

The room was clean but some of the linens and towels were getting dingy and in need of replacement. The TV was very small but I don't care about that. I did not stay for the breakfast so I can't speak to that. Overall a clean place to stay that was inexpensive with name food options close my.

Jewel (6/5): Poorly Trained Staff and low end property - Basic but fairly clean. Staff not trained and left alone. Front desk attendant had trouble checking me in, took her a while to figure out the software it seemed. I ask where the stairs were and she didn’t know (it’s a small hotel and they were just down the hall behind her). No hair dryer in room. They had to go find one in another room when I asked. The door handle in my room was installed upside down. They said several of them were that way. Breakfast looked awful, I skipped it. Would not stay here again.

Christian (4/5): - Unfortunately, this hotel is extremely overrated on this platform. Check reviews elsewhere for better, more accurate, information. We walked into our dog-friendly room and were instantly subject to the coldest indoor temperatures I've ever experienced (possibly the A/C had been cranked to the max by cleaning staff to improve the extreme dampness in the carpet). The main wall, just inside the doorway, was battered and scratched. Both beds had extremely cheap and badly-fitting bed-skirts, and the skirts were spotted heavily with dried mud. Neither the TV nor the phone worked correctly during our three-night stay. Both mattresses were so badly worn it was almost comical to watch anyone sit on them and sink down, down, down. Hallways were marginally clean, some of the time. Attempts had been made to use touch-up paint on many of the beat-up hallway walls, but the color and sheen were not a good match. Exterior door locks did not always work and sometimes required 10+ attempts before the door would finally unlock—people were propping doors open at night with chunks of concrete as a result, creating a serious security issue. PROS: Hotel staff was very limited but friendly—like one or two folks running the whole place. Breakfast was extremely modest and low-budget, but the eating area was clean. Our fridge, micro, and shower all worked, so that was a plus. I also found a working treadmill in the Fitness Room which was a good surprise. This hotel is mainly frequented by road and

While we need to call back tomorrow when the room is cleaned, the woman at the dest was helpful and understanding. I needed that and a stay at a nice hotel after experiencing a nightmare stay earlier in the week.

She was friendly, helpful and she never sat down as I was in and out for smoke breaks and saw her doing laundry, sweeping and washing the entrance and desk lobby area. I had difficulty getting in to the wifi and she put me on in my iPad. If I was a business owner, I’d hire her and make sure her wage was decent.

Unfortunately my room was outdated and the small TV screen didn’t work. The courteous and diligent staff finally got it working. The AC unit sounds like a plane engine taking off as it was loud and continually turned on and off. I finally had to turn it completely off even though it was 80+ degrees the night I arrived.

Ray (6/5): Dirty! Horrible maintenance and cleanliness. - The two clerks at the front desk were the only thing that saved this stay. The young lady when I checked in was great and the gentleman during the evening was good as well. Both were friendly. I checked into the first room there were no blankets or sheets on the bed. There were covers but they were unfolded and in the window. There were folded sheets on the counter. It was hard to know if they were clean or not. I went back down to the front desk and informed the clerk. He went to laundry room and brought back clean sheets. I feel that when you pay for a room you shouldn't have to make a bed when you arrive. I went back to the room and observed the room was even dirtier than I thought. By this time it was after midnight and I needed to be up at just after 5:00 am. The gentleman did get me into another room that was less dirty. It was dusty. there were crumbs and a little bit of some type of wrapper on the floor on the floor. The sheets appeared to be dirty. The bed had a giant dent in it but I settled at this point. Breakfast was horrible with almost no selection. As said before the desk crew in the evening was the only savior.

LouElla (2/5): - This was the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed at. If it wasn’t for the room upgrade, we would’ve left completely. The first room we got was on the second floor and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in MONTHS. The room was covered in mysterious stains and a thick layer of dust. Our bedsheets were turned inside out and full of tiny hairs and crumbs. The tv was broken and the shower head was full of build up and grime. The shower bathroom floor was stayed blue maybe from a cleaning product. The staff was very accommodating and they did upgrade us free of charge but overall it was not worth the stay.

Mike (4/5): Don’t stay there. - This hotel needs renovated. It is literally falling apart. Wood trim fell down from the light and hit me in the head. Toilet would not flush unless I took off the lid and wiggled the inside parts.

justinmK2989SY (2/5): Not a Great Experience - Not a great experience. We returned Saturday night, after being there since Thursday, to our bags behind the counter and locked out of our room. They were overbooked so they canceled our last night and blamed us saying it was our fault for not checking in correctly. The kid behind the desk threatened to call the cops on us and left us with no place to go. He was rude and made horrible excuses for why they canceled our last night. Not recommended at all

Neil (4/5): - This property generally in great shape. Lobby, hallways and rooms look great. But it is showing signs that the owners have stopped putting money into it. They are out of the plastic cups that are used for bathrooms and juice at the breakfast bar. You have to get a New coffee cup, and unwrap it for these needs. I stayed two nights, and asked about getting a Fresh room for the third night. I was told that no housekeeping staff was coming in on Sunday to clean rooms so I was out of luck. Front desk staff was Trying to take care of the breakfast bar, and even doing Housekeeping work when needed. The breakfast food was generally inedible, except the coffee was good.

The event was a college football game, and though I made the reservation months ago, the usual places I stay were booked up. The location (on the property of the redeveloped Middletown Mall) is good. The night before, they called to 'confirm' my reservation. I get electronic reminders frequently, but not a call from the property for decades. Odd. The first room we were placed in had not been cleaned; the toilet, in particular was filthy and would not flush properly. The second room was likewise dirty; the third, finally was 'clean' (except for a horrible stain on the carpet). The A/C unit was set to cool at 60 degrees. By the time we were settled into our room, it was too late to go to a favorite locally owned restaurant next door. We ended up at Applebee's. The drain in the tub was slow, and the drain knob not attached. There is no mat to prevent slipping in the tub in the accumulated water. For some reason, the main entrance to the hotel is in the back. Here is a partial list of other items deemed "non-essential" by Sonesta: * Signage to guide you to the property * In-room coffee service * Housekeeping service * Real eggs -- there is a hot breakfast, but the scrambled eggs are powdered. Further, there is no cheese or salsa to cover this fact up. A batter dispenser hinted at the presence of waffle maker, but it wasn't there. This is now my LAST choice of hotels in the area.
Richard (2/5): - No room. Property said Expedia canceled room. Which I did not.
Lisa (6/5): - Quick stop over for a night on way home. Check in was amazing and Nick was very helpful. Room was clean I guess. Many stains on carpet and one of the beds the sheet was dull- not white like the others. Very few towels in the bathroom and they were very thin. Complimentary breakfast was good but the table were not being wiped down and had to ask for Tea bags.
William (4/5): - I waited about 15 minutes to check in because they were on the phone with a previous guest trying to change their charge to a different credit card. In the room surfaces on the desktop and other surfaces were dirty. It was to late and I was tired so I cleaned these myself before unpacking.
Andrea (4/5): - The room was dirty and not thoroughly cleaned. Mini-fridge was dirty and the items in the bathroom hadn't been restocked. Wouldn't recommend.
523shawnar (10/5): Great stay - I have not heard much about a Sonesta but we gave it a try. Me and my work partner were impressed with the staff being so friendly. Loved the teal colored lobby. The hotel and breakfast area was clean. We will be staying here once a month for our work trip !!! Nick at front desk was super nice and told us of local restaurants. Applebees is across from hotel and was also an excellent choice for him to tell us about. Thank you for a great stay ( oh and shopping super close ) in walking distant.
