• Kristen (8/5): Beautiful onsen near alpine hikes - Onsen is beautiful. Staff are attentive and kind. Location is great if you’re keen to do alpine hikes from the ropeway (or go up the ropeway). Rooms are a bit basic but fine.

• Valentina (10/5): Soggiorno favoloso, bellissimo hotel nelle Alpi giapponesi. Un’oasi di benessere. - Tutto fantastico, stanza giapponese eccezionale e spaziosa, atmosfera magica e super tradizionale, cibo (cena e colazione) magnifici, onsen nell’hotel (separato per genere) e all’aperto vicino al fiume (misto). I gestori dell’hotel sono gentilissimi e si vede che portano avanti questo lavoro con gran passione da anni. Tutto bellissimo e ben organizzato
• Jasmine (6/5): Wouldn’t stay agian , regret the money spent - Nothing particularly wrong but for the price you pay you expect a lot more. We were charged at the end of our stay for use of onsens weather we used them or not each day. I understand it’s in the mountains and will be more pricey but have stayed lots of places in the mountains in Japan for cheaper and better services.

• Wanda (7/5): - The location at the edge of the mountain region is very impressive and the Onsens at the edge of the river a great treat. Food was very plentiful: much more than we could possibly consume! We felt that it was all a bit of a conveyor belt operation: staff in the restaurant were great but reception just seemed to want to get shot of us as quickly as possible, so you felt you were a nuisance if you did not immediately understand all of the intricacies.

• aki song (10/5): - 工作人员都很亲切，我们早上到了酒店，前台奶奶就帮我们安排车送上新穗高缆车了。第二天下雨，没让她们打扫房间，我们吃了个晚饭，他们还帮我们把被子整理好。酒店虽有点年代感，但是还是整洁的。 酒店就在浓飞巴士h57下来的地方。离新穗高缆车10分钟都不到。
• YU FANG (7/5): 搭新穗高巴士在H57下車就是飯店，記得到大門對面搭飯店的小電動纜車跑泡戶外溫泉，是入住這間飯店的重點！飯店早上有三班接駁車到新穗高纜車：8:45，9:15，9:45，須至少10分鐘前預約，沒有回程接送。 - 晚餐超級豐盛，水準也一流，戶外溫泉景色優美，且水溫夠熱。 早餐7:30才開始，沒有享用則不退費；飯店諸多設備典雅但年代已久，部分用品應汰舊更新。 房間有些許霉味，入住時浴室多處仍有頭髮。

• Jin (10/5): Had the most amazing onsen experience so far. - 这家酒店最特色的地方在于：下着雪坐上小缆车，看着枪岳泡温泉。 设施略微陈旧
• TOSHINOBU (5/5): - 温泉が最高であった。 料理が夕食も朝食も美味しかった。 施設が老朽化しており、特にエレベーターは開放ボタンを押していても閉じてしまったため、途中乗り込んできた他のお客様のお子様が扉に挟まれそうになり、とても危険であった。 また、夕食時のテーブルに部屋番号の札が置いてあったが、宿泊している部屋番号が他の人にわかるため、女性だけの宿泊者には危険を伴う。
• Phil (9/5): Amazing onsen in the mountains - The food was outstanding and a lot of it. The outdoor onsen was amazing, not too hot and spectacular scenery. The staff were very helpful and friendly, offering assistance with initiative. Not much, the pillows were small, as were the complimentary indoor footwear, but these are very minor issues that did not detract from the overall experience. Also, the staff saw that the footwear was too small and found some larger ones without being asked.
• ADI (10/5): best hotel for winter experience. - The hotel is beautiful, and the staff are very friendly. The spa is amazing. The hotel has many great facilities, close to a ski resort. The beds were made up for us every evening during our dinner, and folded up every day. We were given fresh towels, Yokatas, and socks every day. There is a mixed open-air onsen with swimsuits, which allowed us to spend time together in the onsen. (There are also separated ones.) The meals were beautifully prepared and truly showcased traditional Japanese cuisine. For us, and especially for our kids, the dishes were quite unfamiliar, and alternatives weren’t offered or discussed in advance. That said, the team made a genuine and thoughtful effort to accommodate our vegetarian needs, clearly putting a lot of care and pride into every meal. Because of the effort they invested, we didn’t feel comfortable asking for something different—and honestly, despite the unfamiliarity, we always left the table happily full 😊

• Hiroko (9/5): お風呂食事とも満足でした。 - 食事は夕食も朝食もとても美味しかったです。 ケーブルカーのようなので行く川岸の混浴露天風呂がとても気に入り、チェックイン直後と早朝に利用しました。施設は新しくないので洗面所などは使い勝手は良くなかったですが、清潔にされていました。また機会があれば利用したいです。 部屋の中に姿見などがなく、化粧をするのに洗面所では暗すぎるし困りました。

• Piyawat (10/5): - Most people might said this hotel is old in not a good way. But I’ll tell you, this is the place you should experience the nice old-style ryokan hotel. The ryokan bed mat is very comfortable. The pillow is too flat. I had to put a towel underneath but there were many towel given in the room. So don’t worry insufficient of towels. But one thing that the hotel did a big mistake to me. I stayed 3 days 2 nights. First day, I was looking to book the private onsen but there was fully booked. So I immediately booked it for my day 2. Then the next day began, I spent the whole day for Kamikochi tour and expected to use the private onsen at the end of the day. When I came back to hotel, the front staff told me that I canceled the onsen booking and there was someone else written on my booking period on top of the space with liquid eraser (which was my room number). I had to insist for 5 times and kept ask the staff “who told you to cancel my booking? And when?” They couldn’t answer me for once. Lastly they did the right thing to me. They gave me the same onsen booking period back. So I recommend who is going the stay hotel. This hotel was very good and nice quality. The onsen was great both outdoor and indoor. But if you want to book the private one. You might have to book in advance and take a picture for evidence.

• Sharon (8/5): Quaint stay - Very quaint accomodation, retro but that's its charm. Outdoor onsen was very nice with stunning views, dinner was awesome and the morning shuttle (8.45am, 9.15am and 9.45am) to shinhotaka onsen made it so convenient. Beds were really comfortable! There were mattresses rather than just tatamis. Overall we enjoyed our stay! Staff English wasn't the best (as alot of other reviews have indicated) but it's fine and they tried to help whenever we needed help.

• bali (8/5): It’s a beautiful property with a great location but I don’t recommend this for tourist outside of Japan. It’s a great es - The rustic look and the view of the snow capped mountains. This is a very traditional Japanese hotel and I don’t think prefer tourist who don’t speak Japanese. The staff can hardly speak any English which makes it difficult for tourist like us. They are very traditional in their thoughts and ways as the staff managing the hotel is much older. It didn’t feel very welcoming, we couldn’t switch last minute as the stay was non refundable.

• Vincent Haryono (6/5): - Breakfast and dinner was the highlight. Mixed onsen was prolly the largest outdoor i've seen in japan! The cable car to the onsen was a good experience. They have lots of stink bug all over the ryokan. They did put a sign to let you know, but for the price point they should make sure there is no bugs inside the ryokan. I booked 1 deluxe room and 1 traditional room but both of the room looks identical. Not sure if i overpaid for the deluxe room or they just put us together in the traditional room.

Il en va de même pour les onsens, tellement beaux et agréables. Il y a un petit côté Shining, un peu désuet, resté dans son jus, vraiment charmant. La salle de bain n’était pas facile à utiliser : l’eau était trop froide pour se doucher, nous devions donc nous laver dans les bains publics/onsens. L’isolation était mauvaise, et l’eau s’infiltrait carrément à l’intérieur de la fenêtre…

• Joseph (3/5): Outdated, overpriced and uncomfortable. - The location and views were excellent. The rooms are so outdated it's hard to even describe. I don't think there has been any changes since the 1960s. The bedding had multiple stains on. The bathroom was outdated compared to many other places. The food was OK. If you like Japanese style then it's might suit your tastes, but we found it quite difficult to stomach. The location is the only reason this hotel is still in business.

• Juran (4/5): Reasonable hotel overpriced - Location Limited choice for included breakfast and dinner, the place is run down, bad smell in the room and no proper coffee. Several messages I’ve sent to the hotel using booking.com to say we are late were ignored.

• Elizabeth (7/5): - The traditional style breakfasts and dinners were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. Furniture and furnishings are worn, musty and dated - the whole place (like the surrounding onsen resorts) has clearly seen better days. Its location would be good for people wanting to hike, but it’s an hour’s winding drive out of Takayama, so not a good base for seeing that town. The resort was shrouded in clouds for the two days we were there, so we saw no view at all. Very expensive for the level of facilities.

• Elise (9/5): - Hotel situé en pleine montagne. Les bains chaud intérieur et extérieur sont exceptionnel. Un vrai plaisir d'y faire une pause pendant notre voyage. Hotel très calme, propre avec tout le nécessaire a disposition. Le dîner et petit-déjeuner sont typiquement japonais donc faut aimer mais c'est une très bonne expérience que l'on ne retrouve pas partout surtout pour un prix très raisonnable avec une super qualité. Je vous recommande de faire une pause dans ce petit coin de montagne. Je ne mets pas 10 juste par rapport au 2 points suivants: - Il parle très peu ou pas du tout anglais mais si vous utilisez une application de traduction, vous arrivez a vous faire comprendre. - La connexion wifi assez difficile quand la chambre est au fond du couloir.

• Jennifer (9/5): A charming grand hotel with a great mixed onsen - Great location and very professional staff, it is an old but grand hotel. The meals are nicely done and the best part is the mixed onsen. It is across the street and down a funicular and it is wonderful - large with beautiful mountain views. Nothing it was very nice
