Great views from wonderful room, nice gym and spa, friendly staff and proximity to Almaty shops and attractions. Not a dislike - rather constructive criticism for better clarity and more options for dining for those with celiac disease (gluten allergy).

De lift was ondergekotst toen we aankwamen. De chauffeur die ons zou ophalen om 03.30 uur ‘s-nachts op de luchthaven die was er niet en bleek ondanks dat we het vluchtnummer hadden opgegeven en stond bij een andere terminal. Echt niet fijn. Ook was de gym heel beperkt.

Yasser (9/5): Great staff - The location was great and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, I had the flu so needed to go to a pharmacy, the staff took me to the nearest pharmacy and translated my symptoms to the pharmacist in Kazakh so that I could get the correct medication. The staff were all amazing.

As Lifetime Titanium Elite members with Marriott, we were only six days away from reaching Ambassador status, so we chose to return to one of our favorite Marriott properties — the Ritz-Carlton in Almaty to celebrate our engagement anniversary. From the start, the team went above and beyond. We were welcomed with a sweet surprise in our room: balloons, bottle of champagne and a lovely cake. After spending three nights, we were upgraded to a beautiful corner suite with a breathtaking view of the city. But the surprises didn’t stop there, one day, we found thoughtful gifts in the room: beautiful keychains and a bracelet with traditional Kazakh ornamentation presents for the New Year. Our two daughters were also treated to adorable Ritz Kids Leo the Lion plush toys, they were thrilled! The most touching moment came when we lost one of our daughters’ little toy ducks during a room transfer. It was a new toy they were very attached to. We asked the team about it, and although they couldn’t find the original, they created a handmade duck and wrote a heartfelt note that absolutely melted our hearts. Our girls now adore the handmade duck even more. Breakfast was excellent, the pool was quiet and relaxing, truly a peaceful escape. And to top it all off, we officially reached Ambassador status upon check-out! Thank you, Ritz-Carlton Almaty, for your exceptional hospitality and thoughtful touches. You made this stay so memorable, and we can’t wait to return again.

VeritaSherpa (10/5): First class service in a first class way... - Titanium member staying at the Ritz Carlton Almaty a second time and this time to celebrate my engagement. With all the nice touches and delicate care from the staff, my weekend in Almaty felt very special. My weekend was packed with events and so I was particularly pleased that my logistical requests were handled perfectly and without reminders. The hotel itself is everything you'd expect from a Ritz Carlton property - from the cleanliness, to the attentive service, and the overall atmosphere. The breakfast is a good balance of local and western selection - with one of the most impressive fresh fruit spreads I've seen. The lobby bar is unassuming and underrated with its good selection of unique cocktails. And the toilet paper - one of a kind! Looking forward to returning - perhaps for my next step!

KevvoW31 (10/5): Fantastic stay and wonderful staff. In the perfect central location as well. - Great hotel in an ideal location for visiting Almaty and all that this great city has to offer. The rooms are nice and the views are fantastic from the Executive suite. Room was very large, sitting area and TV room had great views of the mountains, ski ramps, and the ever jammed Al Farabi road. The staff were very attentive and we received outstanding customer service for our special birthday requests to ensure our night was extra special. The complimentary morning breakfast in the restaurant lounge as a Titanium was exception and a nice touch not usually afforded at the Ritz brands. Kudos to the GM for making this a complimentary part of our stay.

Ivan (5/5): Совершенно не соответсвует цена и качество. - Вид с окна, локация, чистота. В номерах стоит старая и отвратительная система управления светом, шторами и кондиционером. (которую наверно устанавливали 10-15 лет назад). Это маленькая сенсарная понель которая работает через раз. Учитывая цену, это вообще не приемлемо. Система отопления номеров вызывает вопросы, я хотел включить кондиционер с теплым воздухом 24-25 градусов, но дул только холодный. Ресторан Виста (или как то так на 30м этаже) - не впечетлил от слова совсем, в таком месте и с таким ценником, ожидаешь, что оффицианты знают меню, знают о наличии продуктов и могут по нему советовать. В моем случае к нам подошел официант, который внятно не мог ответить ни по составу блюд ни по наличию соков. Общее заключение, гостиница и ее сервисы выезжают только за счет локации, в сравнении с другими гостиницами Алматы никаких других преймушеств не имеют.

Near the shopping mall and restaurants .The room was nice, and the breakfast was rich and tasty. Staff were nice and helpful , especial the concierge staff , thanks to Ally at concierge. Unfortunately, the housekeeping was careless and sloppy, there were water stains (or maybe urin stains) on the floor around the toilet area. Housekeeping could definitely be improved.

The floor-to-ceiling windows gave us a stunning view of the Alatau mountains, and waking up to that every morning felt surreal. Dining at the hotel was another highlight. Every meal we had was delicious, with a perfect blend of local flavors and international options. The breakfast buffet was a daily treat fresh, beautifully presented, and with so much variety. The service at the restaurant, just like throughout the hotel, was exceptional. One of the most memorable experiences was visiting the spa after a long day of exploring the city. It was peaceful, luxurious, and the perfect place to unwind. The staff there were so attentive and welcoming we felt completely pampered. Thank you Ritz-Carlton Almaty, for making our first journey to Kazakhstan so special. We hope to return one day and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. SamsTravelogy (10/5): The best in Almaty - Location - It is situated in the modern commercial district of Almaty, adjacent to a high-end shopping mall. Welcome - We were welcome by the reception and upgraded to a higher floor mountain view room. Suggestion- A welcome drink & a sit in check in process would elevate the experience. Room - The room was very spacious, the linens were fresh and the views of the mountains were expectional. Food - The food was truly exceptional. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Chef Vinit for providing such wonderful care throughout our stay. Spa - The spa area was nice and friendly. We enjoyed the swimming pool which was temperature controlled. Kids Activities - Concerning the activities designed for children, the activity bag is thoughtfully prepared with some enjoyable items. I would like to propose that the inclusion of a small, soft toy within the bag could potentially enhance its appeal and make it feel more special for the children. Furthermore, a dedicated check-in process specifically for children could be a valuable addition, and offering improved prizes for the games, such as a treasure hunt, instead of a toffee after the children's efforts might further enrich their experience. EdMotion (4/5): Simply over priced for what it is - The Ritz Carlton Almaty is a decent 4 star hotel with 6 star prices. If the room rates were in the US$200-US$300 range I’d say it is about right. But at US$500 a night, it is nearly twice the next most expensive hotel. I don’t mind the price but for what? History? No. The service level is okay but not outstanding. The hotel is not even located in the center of town and it is nearly in the middle of nowhere interesting. The owner also placed some poorly inspired Chen Wenling sculptures all over the hotel, making it look cheap, not elegant. The bellboys are totally useless watching me carry my own bags on my way out.

s0r00shp (10/5): Best choice in Central Asia - Time and time again, the Ritz located in essentai park delivers. The hard product and service are both world class. Particular impressed with Aruzhan’s attentiveness to detail. I’ve stayed in almost every room type and appreciate both the standard rooms most of which have awe worthy Mountain Views as well their suites. The executive suite has a nice Mountain View while the grand suite is a more interesting floor plan (perfect for a longer stay). I am pleased to say they added complementary elite breakfast - pretty much unknown at ritz properties globally. Overall the value proposition is there. I look forward to coming back again! While prices may be feel on higher side, the value is certainly there especially when comparing it to other luxury options in the city. Oh and the concierge took great care of me and set up a wonderful reservation at auyl.
fantasticv0yage (10/5): World Class - We’ve been fortunate to stay in dozens of the finest hotels on six continents, from St. Regis to Leading Hotels of the World, from ice hotels to palace hotels. And we can now add to that the Ritz-Carlton Almaty, a true world class luxury hotel. Capping off a trip to the Great Silk Road, we spent our anniversary with some of the kindest and most generous hospitality professionals we have ever met anywhere. The hotel is physically stunning, occupying Floors 20-30 in one of the tallest buildings in Almaty, affording sweeping views of the city and mountains from every window. The public spaces are sleek and art filled. Our only tiny bobble was at check-in, where we learned that the hotel is not overly generous with Titanium upgrades; however, we had the good fortune to speak with Monette, who sorted things out and moved us to a Grand Suite. Grand it was – the shower alone was the size of a small bedroom! Our arrival day was our anniversary and champagne and cake was waiting for us in the suite, compliments of management. We had a spectacular dinner at Seven, on the 28th floor of the hotel. Our table was strewn with rose petals, the cellist serenaded us (OK, he serenaded all the diners) and Veuve Clicquot was sent to the table, this time compliments of the restaurant staff. Dinner itself was Michelin worthy and could have been served in the finest restaurants in any European capital. The breakfast buffet was hands down the most extensive we have ever seen – we’re talking stations upon stations of food, organized by geographic region and covering the globe. But for all of that, as I said at the beginning, it is the hotel staff that stood out even among all this glamor, and among other great hotels. My wife had gotten food poisoning in Bishkek and it broke after our anniversary dinner. Sadly, she spent the next two days in the suite trying to get back to herself before a very long flight home. While I was out on a city tour, I called back to see how she was doing and word got out within the hotel that my wife was not feeling well. When I got back from the tour, she jokingly told me she couldn’t even take a nap because there was a procession of ginger tea and other palliatives that kept being delivered to her, each one accompanied by gifts – we’re talking a box of teas with a set of tea cups, a Kazakh hat, another bottle of wine, another cake, chocolate bars and various souvenirs. This went on for the two full days she stayed back. Did I also mention that upon check-in we were provided a voucher for a pizza and beverage, which we used on our final night at Vista, the hotel’s more casual eatery, before a middle-of-the night flight home? We’re talking truffle pizza that had us dreaming of Italy and a rather good local Riesling that, while not quite Alsace, was more than impressive for Central Asia. No truer words can be said of the wonderful team here than Ritz Carlton’s founding principle that they are ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen. There were so many ladies and gentlemen that we could not possibly remember them all by name. We just want to thank each of them for one of the most memorable hotel stays ever.

I kind of liked that the reception was on the 30th floor, it created a sense of exclusiveness. But it added a bit of a hastke getting to and from the room, changing elevators. The room was ok. It has splashes of dried water on glass table, windows, glass walls between to WC and the bedroom... overall for Ritz the attention to detail was sub par.

alpal78 (10/5): Super Service! - Ritz Carlton Almaty excelled in several areas but the best bar none was the service especially in the concierge and Seven restaurant. We celebrated our anniversary in Seven and the food and service were impeccable, truly of fine dining calibre. They got my wife flowers and gave us a complimentary cake. The staff wrote a sweet note and the chef came to greet us at our table, so much dedicated and detailed attention. Next was the concierge, they were all very helpful and always provided suggestions with a smile. We want to reserve special praise to Amina at the concierge. She was very friendly and really made a difference during our stay, even giving us some personal gifts. There was also an incident when my ATM card was confiscated by the ATM in the hotel. Amina handled it so well, assured us things would be ok, coordinated with the bank to retrieve our card (without us even needing to go to the bank) and delivered the card to Astana after we left the hotel. Service and going the extra mile can’t get any better than that. Ritz Carlton is very lucky to have someone like Amina in their employment. Thank you Amina! The only minor drawback of the hotel is that the room was on the smaller side especially for the price of $700 per night so this may not be for the price conscious. But they made up for it with the super service provided.
