• alegU2967DH (2/5): Do not recommend - I dont know how to start this review. We booked 4 nights via booking.com. the pictures and ammenities presented looked decent plus it was located in a central area. We had arrived in the city and we needed a place to stay for 4 days after the place we were supposed to stay cancelled hours before our arrival so we basically had no many choices for same day accomodation. Well, booking.com should be ashamed of having this place as one of their listing 1st of all and then no even cancellation oportunity even though we said we will be leaving sooner they had no option to cancel starting the next day. Well this plaace made us even change our schedule as we felt so uncomfortable there we had no choice but leaving sooner. No AC which is normal in Europe but then if you open a window and you dont smoke , your room will smell like cigarette in a sec as the main street is full of bars and people smoke so imagine those smells comming up. The room was not clean at all, sheets stained with different " unknown things" carpet as well stained and smelled awful. People that work there wete not too willing to help honestly. The fan was not even working we had to go to the front desk to request for a new one and they brought one full of dust. I mean this place would not be even operating as a hotel in the US, maybe a motel and for the prices thet charged us for 4 nights !! Plus the moment we arrived they gave us our room keys, once we went upstairs 1st thing we found was the door fully open , everything was untouched but imagine you get to your hotel and your " room door" is open. Very weird situation. No mini fridge ,no safe to store your valuables. I mean this is def a 0 to me and believe me , i am usually very ok with whatever. This place turn you into a "Karen" even though you dont want to. Dont go !!
• Tobias (8/5): - Netter Aufenthalt in einem zentral gelegenen Hotel. Wer so zentral wohnt muss sich bewusst sein, dass es Straßenlärm gibt. Uns hat es nicht gestört. Mehr Ruhe hat man mit den Hofzimmern.

Unsere Anliegen wurden am Telefon im Vorfeld schon sehr freundlich von Frau Clemens entgegen genommen und auch der Hotel Aufenthalt war zu unserer vollen Zufriedenheit. Vor Ort kümmerte sich Herr Zillert um einen Kühlschrank den wir Aufgrund einiger Lebensmittelunverträglichkeiten benötigten und das Personal stellte uns diesen sofort ins Zimmer. TOLLES Frühstücksbuffet und freundliche, familiäre Atmosphäre. Wir sagen DANKE für einen gelungenen Aufenthalt 😊.

• Sandra (2/5): - Leider war es sehr Staubig dort. Dann waren wir in der 4 Etage ,wo keine klimaanlage war, es hat nach urin im bad gestunken und es roch überall ekelhaft. Es war so warm ,dass wir uns kaputt geschwitzt haben. Als wir Sonntags auschecken wollten, fragte man uns im treppenhaus ob wir schon bezahlt hätten,als ich dies mit "ja" beantwortete,sagte man mir dann legen sie die zimmer karten einfach oben auf die Briefkästen. Das war unsere verabschiedung. Mein Fazit nie mehr dieses Hotel.
• Verified traveler (2/5): PORTA do meu quarto ESTAVA ABERTA!!! - O quarto estava sujo, não trocaram a toalha de rosto, o travesseiro era uma metade, e não um inteiro. Era metade de um travesseiro. E o pior: quando cheguei do meu passeio a PORTA ESTAVA ABERTA!!! Me sentí insegura quando vi a porta do quarto aberta, que provavelmente, segundo a recepção,a camareira deixou a PORTA DO MEU QUARTO aberta. Além do mais, havia um horrível cheiro de cigarro dentro do quarto
• Michael (10/5): Erwartungen übertroffen - Hotel sieht von aussen klein aus , habe für den Preis nicht viel erwartet. Bin aber total überrascht worden. Hotel entpuppte sich als sehr gut , gute Lage da stadtzentrumnah, riesen Tiefgarage und das in Stadtmitte. Zimmer super für den Preis ! Ich komme wieder …

Lovely lady in reception, helpful staff, very good standard. Clean and quiet rooms. Free carpark and really good breakfast. Absolutely recommend.

• Minoo (4/5): - Horrible experience that we had so far. Not any responsible person at the front desk after evening. They just hanged a number behind the glass door for emergency call that I called them several times but no one took the phone. The room was so hot and smelling like mold is growing because of bad ventilation and moisture. I found some beetles in the last 2 days in the bathroom but no one took the phone to come over for cleaning. There is not any phone in the room to connect to front desk and you need to use your personal phone to reach out to them. The breakfast was supposed to start and 6:30 am but everyday start with delay and first day not serving either without any notice or heads-up email. The bathroom vanity plumbing was leaking and all around the bathroom floor was wet and smelled so bad.

• Verified traveler (4/5): A éviter - L'hôtel est bien situé. Je pense que c'est le seul point positif. On m'a demandé si je voulais prendre un petit-déjeuner pour 10€. J'ai accepté et payé. Le lendemain, la salle du petit-déjeuner était fermée, idem pour la réception. Pas de climatisation dans la chambre, juste un ventilateur. La télé m'a indiqué "pas de signal" au milieu du film. Génial! :-) Impossible de la refaire fonctionner. Sèche cheveux dans la salle de bain mais pas de prise pour le brancher. Bref.. à éviter..

• Thomas (8/5): Do not get the economy rooms - This hotel is Jeckyll and Hyde. If you get a room on the side with the trams, it's awful (see other reviews), if you get a room on the other side, it's totally fine, 4* review, not an issue. I would recommend paying more for the better rooms and finding somewhere else if you want to spend less money.
• Verified traveler (6/5): 직원분친절하나 객실에서 담배냄새가 좀 났어요~ - 급하게 정한 호텔인데 직원분 매우 친절하셨고 주차도 편했습니다. 객실내 턱이 있어서 새벽에 화장실 가실때 정말 주의하셔야해요! 남편 크게 다칠뻔;; 담배냄새도 좀 났지만 몇 안되는 커피포트 있는 곳이라서 좋았습니다. 근처 걸어서 10분거리쯤에 한식당있어서 정말 맛있게 한식먹어서 너무 기쁘고 행복했어요ㅎㅎ

• Maria (10/5): Sehr gutes Hotel - Es ist ein sehr gutes Hotel mitten in der Stadt. Modern eingerichtet, sauber. Das Bad neu. Alles da was man braucht. Wenn jemanden Lärm von der strasse stört, sollte bitte Zimmer zum Innenhof buchen. Uch war apsolut zufrieden. Wenn mal was Flecken hinterlasst, die leider nicht zu entfernen sind, dann denkt bitte daran.... das war ein Gast....die können auch nicht nach solchen Gästen Teppiche und Gardinen austauschen....

• Tabea (6/5): - Leider sind nicht in allen Räumen Heizungen vorhanden. Im Winter unmöglich! Bei Nachfrage werden Heizlüfter in das Zimmer gestellt, wenn man nicht da ist. Eine Rechnung wird erst nach zweiter Anfrage ausgestellt. Check Out um 8:15 Uhr morgens nicht möglich, „da Chef eigentlich da sein sollte, aber man nicht weiß, warum er nicht da war.“ Über die weiteren Check Out Möglichkeiten wurde man beim Check In nicht aufgeklärt.
• Sven (8/5): - Habe das Hotel jetzt zum zweiten male gebucht. Die Zimmer sind angemessen groß, und sehr sauber. Beim betreten riechen die Zimmer "Frisch", sind gelüftet. Das A und O für mich bei einem Hotelzimmer. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist zudem stimmig.

• Sven (8/5): - Der Empfang war sehr freundlich, der Check-In war vorbereitet, die Schlüsselkarte war innerhalb weniger Minuten übergeben. Beim betreten der Zimmer war der erste Eindruck: Sauber und frisch. Dies hat mich begeistert. Das Zimmer war gut belüftet, Schlafraum und Badezimmer sehr sauber. Optisch ist alles sehr ansprechend. Empfangsbereich, Flure, Zimmer. Habe bereits für nächste Woche diese Unterkunft erneut gebucht.
• Felix (2/5): - Mehr Schein als Sein Per E-Mail angekündigter Self-Check-In hat nicht funktioniert. Dreckiger Eingangsbereich, Zigarettenkippen und defekter Spiegel im Aufzug. Zimmer ganz ok. Sehr laut und hellhörig. Wasserhahn im Badezimmer ist zu kurz für das Waschbecken. Wasser der Dusche fließt beim Duschen ungehindert in das gesamte Badezimmer. Es gab kein Handtuchwechsel in der ganzen Zeit. Auch nach Reklamation an der Rezeption. Es wurde per Mail angekündigt, dass nur Zimmer gereinigt werden, die ein grünes Schild an die Tür hängen. Trotz des aufgehängten Schilds gab es keine Reinigung und keine neuen Handtücher, die alle nass waren, um das beim Duschen auslaufende Wasser daran zu hindern ins Zimmer zu fließen. Dame an der Rezeption sehr aufgedreht, aber unfreundliche. Sehr unangenehme Atmosphäre. Es gab Teebeutel und Instant-Kaffee auf dem Zimmer, aber kein Wasserkocher. Dies wurde an der Rezeption bemängelt, Ersatz wurde versprochen, kam aber nie an. Umgebung wahnsinnig laut. Laute Autos nachts, Gäste, die nachts laut auf dem Flur telefonieren. Laute Geräusche von der Straßenbahn. Sehr schade alles.

Außerdem ist man in unter 10 Minuten zu Fuß an dem wohl schönsten Ort in Karsruhe- dem Schlossgarten. Auch vom Hbf per Straßenbahn Haltestelle Bundesgerichtshof/ Karlstor direkt zu erreichen. Auch ein Edeka, sowie diverse Restaurants und Einkamöglichkeiten liegen in unmittelbarer Nähe.

• Michael (8/5): - Zimmer war sauber und relativ neu renoviert. Hatte eins im 4. Geschoss zur Straße, Fenster waren nicht ganz dicht, deshalb hörte man die Straßenbahn. Für mich war das aber kein Problem. Würde wieder kommen, die Lage ist top, man ist zu Fuß gleich in der Innenstadt.

• Verified traveler (4/5): - Guter Preis während der Messezeit. Schneller und effizienter Check-In. Saubere Zimmer und gutes Frühstücksbuffet. Im Notfall (spät abends, nachts) ist niemand erreichbar. Neue Zimmerkarte kann am vorhandenen Automaten aufgrund Fehlermeldung nicht erstellt werden. In den Zimmern sind keine Toilettenbürsten oder Mülleimer vorhanden. Parkmöglichkeiten sind gut - sofern Tiefgarage offen. Beim Check-Out zwischen 08:00-08:30 Uhr war die Rezeption nicht besetzt.
• BizTravellerBri (4/5): Not a Business Travel Hotel - Basic room with no amenities. King bed is really two twins pushed together. Bed sheets consist of a bottom fitted sheet and a 5 foot long comforter. There is no air conditioning, so you essentially sleep uncovered or you sweat it put. The "coffee maker" is a machine that heats water...you figure out what to do next. No iron...maybe that's a European thing? Tiny bathroom with only half a shower door, so have fun standing in your bath water when you brush your teeth. Soap and shampoo is a squeeze bottle hung on the wall. Cups in bathroom are plastic and a bit larger than a shot glass. If you are coming from the US, bring a European power converter...hotel doesn't supply them, so that was my mistake. Staff was friendly and spoke English. Clean. Busy central location, so it's a good launch point to see the city.

Door bath room very dirty . Not seen any staff . Breakfast sign , but no breakfast . Smallest King size bed ever . Floor ready to be replaced .

• VanessaSperling (10/5): - Wir waren jetzt schon einige Male da und jedes Mal läuft alles reibungslos ab. Vom Check-In bis zum Check-Out. Das komplette Hotelpersonal ist stets freundlich und hilfsbereit. Frühstück ist sehr vielfältig, die Zimmer immer ordentlich und sauber. Wir waren schon in vielen Hotels in Karlsruhe und bis jetzt ist es das komfortabelste Hotel überhaupt! Wir kommen gerne immer wieder!

• Alison (8/5): - The location of the hotel was excellent for my purposes of walking to the art museum and traveling very easily from the main train station by streetcar a few stops. The breakfast buffet was extensive and good. The room I stayed in had several spots in the carpet that needed a good cleaning and in the bathroom the wood or faux wood in front of the sink showed real signs of wear. The walls were thin and noise traveled easily. I am sensitive to down blankets and bedding and was given a handicap accessible room with a huge bathroom. I would recommend the room and hotel no problem, especially because I booked through Orbitz and got a great deal for airfare and hotel together.

• Verified traveler (2/5): - Aufgrund einer Tagung in Karlsruhe war ich für 1 Nacht mit Frühstück in diesem Hotel zum Preis von 198 Euro. Das Hotel ist an einer Hauptstraße gelegen und entsprechend laut. Von der Rezeption, die direkt übergeht in eine wenig beleuchtete Lounge&Bar, und wo sich Mitarbeiter über Betriebsinterna aufregen ( es gäbe wohl Kameras im Umkleidebereich?!) muss man zurück auf die Straße und 10 m weiter durch einen Hauseingang wieder rein. Hotelzimmer sind in den Stockwerken 1 und 4, sonst gibt es Büros und Wohnungen im Haus. Das Zimmer selbst ist sauber, aber zu dem Preis unverschämt klein (das ist Karlsruhe und keine Weltmetropole wie Paris oder Rom) und es mangelt an Ausstattung. Im Bad gibt es keinen Haken für die Handtücher, der Spiegel über dem Waschbecken ist auf Bauchnabel-Höhe angebracht, so dass Schultern und Kopf bei 1,68 Größe nicht zu sehen sind, das Wasser wird nur mäßig warm, beim Duschen wird der ganze Badbereich überflutet. Im Zimmer selbst ist es zu kalt, es gibt daher bereits zusätzlich zum Heizkörper eine Elektro-Heizer aufgestellt, welcher viel Geräusch und Gestank verursacht. Weiterhin auch hier keinen adäquaten Spiegel, keine Kaffee/Teezubereitungsmöglichkeit, einzige Sitzgelegenheit im Zimmer ist ein Dreh/Rollhocker, und der Straßenlärm (Straßenbahn, Hauptverkehrsstraße) lässt einen kaum zur Ruhe kommen. Das Bett war ok, die Bettwäsche sowie das Zimmer sauber, das Frühstück durchschnittlich, der Frühstücksraum jedoch überlaufen...

• 986vidat (10/5): Fabulous - Staff exceptionally friendly from the Reception to the house keeping. The room that was given to me was spotless and modern and very quiet. The mood lighting was great. Breakfast was plentiful, whether I wanted to eat healthy or load up on carbs. I can't find fault with any aspect of this hotel at all. When I go to visit my friends again, I will not hesitate in booking this hotel. There is no need to look anywhere else for a fab location, price, rooms and staff.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - The location of this hotel is easily accessible from the Bahnhof. We were able to find everything that we need around it. Pharmacy, supermarket, fitness center, etc. The Christmas market is so close also the shopping centers are near by. The room is so comfortable and clean. We have been there many times and we will definitely come back later!
• leedstomn (4/5): Bit of a dump, not the greatest location - best avoid - Not sure what this hotel cost (the office booked it). Wouldn't stay here again though. The reception is in a bar, which was closed at approx 9pm when we arrived. You then go next door to what appears to be half office building, half hotel. Quirky, but not a problem. The receptionist was pleasant and efficient. My room was pretty awful. I knew I was in for a bit of a treat when I saw the dirty stairwell, and hastily filled holes in the walls. The room itself was small, and smelled a bit rank. The window had a large crack running through it, which had been "repaired" with tape. The room was quite dirty and looked like it had seen better days. First floor rooms are almost basement at the back of the hotel - the ground is level with the window, which makes them feel a bit overlooked. The rooms are quite noisy, from the rod, corridor, other rooms, etc. Breakfast was OK at best. A simple selection of meat and cheese, with bread. Some coffee machines, one of which even worked. Pretty basic. The location of the hotel is strange - there's a pretty rough looking bar nearby, but you feel like you're in a transitionary area of town between the places you'd want to have a hotel, and those you wouldn't. Fairly short walk from the station though. If it's cheap, you can sleep here and not be too unhappy, and maybe not get fleas. But probably you should go somewhere else.
• CLJMG (6/5): Only the location let it down - Nice hotel mostly on the fourth floor of a questionable part of town. The reception is on the ground floor, you then walk out onto the street enter the next door and then take the lift up to the rooms. The rooms are compact but nicely presented and recently renovated. The breakfast which was also on the fourth floor was exceptional for the price. We had arrived by bike and were allowed to store them in the underground garage.
• iamimom (10/5): What a gem - Great value for money. Comfortable nicely appointed rooms. The free breakfast is outstanding. Great choice of foods and drinks. Not what I expected for the price. Comfortable large beds. Helpful English speaking staff and safe parking for our bikes
• periandro (6/5): Unreliable hotel with some nuisances - The Hotel is located in a relatively quiet Karlsruhe street, Karlstraße 46, and it’s rather close to the main points of interest, such as the Staat Kunsthalle, which is a very good museum. All such points can be reached on foot, which is no doubt an advantage. The fact that one can’t go to the bedrooms straight from the reception can be deemed a peculiarity of that Hotel. As a matter of fact, one needs to go out into the street from the front desk and go into a different entrance in order to go up to the floors where the rooms are. That isn’t any problem actually and it’s just pointed out as a curiosity. The bedrooms are very well furnished, there being in them all that is needed to have a comfortable stay with one inconvenience therefor. It’s about an engine noise in the rooms which can be heard all the time and which can be very disturbing at night particularly for people suffering from sleep troubles. The minibar isn’t the cause of the noise concerned. Were it so it could be stopped by unplugging the electric appliance. Unfortunately there is no possibility to put an end to that noise, what is indeed annoying. As far as noise is concerned, it must be also pointed out that upon booking the accommodation in that hotel I emphasized the need that the room be a peaceful one owing to some personal circumstances which I outlined when making that request. It was completely ignored by the hotel management, to such an extent that the room allocated to me was that next door to the kitchenette where breakfast is prepared and where afterwards the dishes are washed. Since the ladies who perform those tasks arrive at the hotel at 5:30 in the morning, it can be imagined what a hell my room became from the said time on the first night of my stay. Of course I went to complain to the reception. The lady who attended me, who by the way speaks a perfect Spanish, kindly allocated me another room in a more reasonable place than the first one. The second night at the hotel wasn’t such a torture as the first one but still, hearing the aforesaid engine noise couldn’t be helped. At any rate, the complete disregard with which I was treated and the fact that they not only ignored my entreaty for a peaceful room but sent me maybe to the noisiest one at the hotel shows to which point that place should be avoided. There is little to criticize about the other relevant points in relation to the concern in question. The staff members are kind to some extent and some of them are helpful. The ladies working in the dining room at breakfast time are very kind despite the fact that they woke me up the first night. After all it wasn’t their fault. The beds are very comfortable; at least the two being in the two rooms I occupied respectively are so. The mattresses have the adequate toughness to have a nice rest. It needs to be reiterated anyway that it’s not a place one should advise to stay since, as it can be gathered from the foregoing, some staff members just don’t care about the guests' needs and an engine noise in the bedrooms can be heard continuously.

• Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice sized rooms, and that's it. There's almost nothing in the rooms. For the cost, there are many nicer hotels around this neighborhood. There are two towels in the room and that's basically it. There's almost no staff in the hotel. The most barebones, pricey hotel I've been in.
