Guest Reviews
- Hilda0414 (9/5): Wonderful location and nice privacy. - Coffee pot in room, room kept very clean and the bathroom was spacious with nice hot shower -gorgeous view of mountains, very close to Helen, nice walking trails, Ashley, at the front desk, was very helpful and gave us useful maps of the facility and the trails. Saw two deer on the frog pond loop trail! (I did not use the restaurants so can not comment on them.) VERY small negative-the lamp on my nightstand did not work. rm 18.

- Nicole (10/5): - Location, staff, clean rooms. One of the lodge restaurants were very under staffed and we waited for over 30 minutes for drinks and never got them so we left.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very nice and will stay again - In a state park. The scenery was beautiful. The lodge had been recently renovated and was very clean. Longish walk to the room

- Lucy (8/5): Nice staff, comfortable stay, very limited entertainment options - Staff are very friendly and helpful. There was no TV - for the first night, TV was very unstable, and nothing the second night. We called the frontdesk and was told the lack of service was due to the weather. We are paying a premium price, so we expect at least standard services.
- Frankie (10/5): Enjoy the serenity of the balcony for reading - Quiet relaxing and beautiful landscape.
- Gary (6/5): Nice place and will try it again. - Facility was clean and well maintained. Room was clean and the bed was very comfortablw. In-room WiFi was down entire stay and I wanted to watch a college basketball that was available on in-room TV because TV service provider was blocking CBS.

- Jane (7/5): We really liked the lodge and would recommend it and come back again - Room was great, comfortable, clean, property was beautiful. Staff was wonderful helping my husband after his fall and reimbursing 1/2 of our 2 night stay since we had to check out early to take him to the hospital Concrete stairs to enter/exit building C had no railing…my husband (79) missed his footing on exiting and fell hitting his head on the concrete and injuring his leg and hand
- Adriana (10/5): - The location and the ambience in the facilities inviting you to relax and enjoy
- Jeremiah (10/5): I would love to spend more time there. - The property was beautiful and had lots of things to do.
- Rachel (6/5): - The location is great. You're close enough to Helen that spending time there is easy enough for all three meals of the day if you choose do so. The park and surrounding areas have hikes and other outdoor activities to keep everyone in the family busy. Noises from the halls and other rooms were easily heard. Rooms need updating although they were clean. Buffet breakfast is not recommended. Food is bland.
- Kelly (8/5): Room was comfy. Views were great. - Location and view

- Corey (9/5): We would stay here again and enjoyed the lodge. - Wonderful staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. We had to check out a day early due to sickness and the staff were super nice and helpful getting us checked out. The mattresses in the room were a bit hard to sleep on.

- Fred (8/5): -
- Megan (10/5): I really enjoyed the lake, trails, restaurant, and the clean, quiet space. - The location was beautiful, great views with fun outdoor activities. It was also quiet, catering a lot to retired couples and families. It was very safe, quiet, and clean.
- Grayson (9/5): - The vent in the bathroom didn't work.
- Bobby (9/5): -
- Terry (10/5): - The breakfast was very good. The Helen area was very disappointing. Too many souvenir shops. The Helen area.
- LATISHA (10/5): -
- Caleb (6/5): Great stay! Watch for bugs. - For the price, mostly everything was very nice. Great view and hospitality We found two cockroaches, one in the main room and one in the bathroom sink.
- David (10/5): -
- Edward (5/5): Will not be back - Food service at the Tavern was very slow and one night our order totally failed to arrive (the waitress simply forgot us ). also the wrong drink was brought to our table. In fairness to the staff they seemed to be rushed off their feet. They were understaffed. The breakfast was a disappointment. Food too long on the hot plates. Not much variety. Overall a disappointment.
- Patti (10/5): -
- Leah (9/5): Great place to stay - There was lots of outdoor space right outside our room and with a great Mountain View. People were nice and accommodating. Conveniently located near Helen. Breakfast was not included in the price of the room. There should have been something or some sort of discount at the lodge.
- Jana (10/5): -
- David (9/5): Cozy lodge with easy shuttle to Helen and lots of great hiking opportunities. - Loved the shuttle into and back from Helen!
And the firepit.

- Kris (7/5): Nice breakfast but the place is outdated and a bit pricey. - Great breakfast, and the location is great. The staff were friendly. These are the strong points of this lodge. And they made my stay pleasant. This lodge has so much potential but the cost is WAY too high for this property. The place is in need of updating. It looks like maybe the rooms and everything were last updated in the 80s or 90s. There are places where it looks newer and has a real lodge feel, but mostly it doesn't feel up-to-date. I go to Helen every December and this is the first time I have stayed at this lodge. The other hotels in Helen are comparable in comfort and style but significantly cheaper. I will not stay here again unless I just want to have the nice breakfast, and it is a nice breakfast.
- Marina (10/5): Perfect stay for New Year’s Eve - Room was clean and comfortable, location is close to Helen, surroundings were beautiful
- Justin (8/5): - Nice quiet place to get away from the crowds. Beautiful area to explore. The room was not as clean as expected. Floors were dirty but bed was clean and comfortable.
- David (8/5): - Beautiful location, and close to lots of scenery and attractions. We could have used more linen for 2 people staying 2 nights. There were only 2 bath towels 2 hand towels and 2 wash cloths. Maybe it was by request only?
- Konkel (8/5): - Staff very responsive and accommodating. Asian Beetles were in the rooms. Staff did assist with the removal. They advised it was a common problem and they are restricted on what they can do to eliminate them.
- Florence (7/5): We are considering giving it a try in warmer weather but was disappointed with Helen for New Year’s Eve. - Peaceful and quiet. We kept looking for Bears. We even went out and made sure no fast food bags were in the vehicle and it was locked LOL. Facilities were clean and staff was nice. The wall control was turned on to heat but the room didn’t warm up. Realized in the morning that there was a unit by the window turned it on to 71 and it nearly turned the room into a sauna. Shower door handle was broken and sink faucet needs replacing as it would not completely shut off
- Alyssa (8/5): -
- Selina (5/5): Avoid the restaurant - Comfortable, clean, good location. The breakfast buffet was so bad, we literally couldn't eat it. We paid an exorbitant amount for foods that were only heated up from low quality frozen stock - similar to what you'd get at a cheap motel. It didn't seem like real food at all. It ruined our stay at the lodge.
- mc gregor (10/5): - The cozy feeling, clean ,location ,nice staff 100 % recommend! Nothing
- Pritchett (10/5): -
- George (5/5): - The view from the room we stayed in was nice. The beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I arrived around 6:30, and my room was not ready. It still needed to be cleaned. The badge system was down, and I could not get a key to the room until 9:30 pm. Although the staff was very friendly, it took a long time to get service because they were understaffed in the Tavern.
- Jonas (1/5): -
- Paul (6/5): I would prefer a regular hotel. The word lodge conjured up something very different! - I was disappointed in the facility. Unfortunately, I expected a large common room with a roaring fire and comfortable furniture, restaurant nearby and handicapped room in the main building. see above
- Lisa (5/5): the location is superb, but the lodge was deeply understaffed. - the location is fabulous BUT THERE WERE NOT ENOUGH STAFF TO CLEAN the rooms. We requested services that were never delivered, and no one ever responded to our requests. We also had a feeling that the bed linens were not changed before we slept in the room bc we found the tip envelope (on our checkout day) and it had cash in it...so no one ever cleaned while we were there and possibly not even before we were there?
- Gregory (7/5): - It was convenient to helen Restaurant was closed and advertised open. You can have a fire in the fire pit or fireplace if you want to purchase the firewood. Did not create the lodge experience! Breakfast was over priced. Scrambled eggs that weren't fresh on the buffet. Sausage patties swimming in grease. Potatoes also not hot and fresh. The best part was the biscuits and gravy, bacon and coffees. Business run lodge
- Jake (6/5): -
- Susan (5/5): - It was in a beautiful area Our bathroom was not clean. Hair all over the bathroom floors and all over the shower walls.
- Steven (4/5): -
- Buffy (10/5): - Location and staff were excellent
- April (7/5): Short stay, good location! - We enjoyed the convience of having the restaurants on site! The beds are okay, not the most comfortable. And the comforter was too thin.
- Thomas (7/5): Good - Location Pull out mattress was the worst. Cmon that can be done better.
- James (8/5): It was a very nice, clean and reasonable hotel. - Location was great. Staff was very friendly. Zach and Ashley at front desk were great. Tara our server at the Tavern was awesome. Limited elevators, some of the linens seemed very barebones. Can’t turn in shower without getting wet.
Staff needed to communicate about the amenities better.
- Maria Antonia (10/5): - Demasiada tranquilidad, un espacio perfecto para descansar. Súper bien el internet, el silencio, la hospitalidad del personal. Súper recomendable!

- Doyle (3/5): Underwhelming. - Two of the women working the check-in desk were very nice, & very personable. Our room had about 20 ladybugs in it. We let the front desk know & we were told maintenance would vacuum them up. I asked if we could just change rooms & was asked to go to dinner courtesy of the lodge to allow maintenance to fix the issue first, so we agreed. Dinner was just ok then we went back to the room & the bugs were still there. We had to insist before we got a new room finally.
- Jennifer (10/5): Would stay here again - Beautiful area and lodge Could use more places to eat
- Cheryl (5/5): - Could of been a little more festive
- Fuller (7/5): Our main reason for the visit was to explore Helen but we didn't want to stay downtown. - The staff was awesome. They were at almost full capacity and still able to take care of a minor issue with the room as soon as I was able to let them know. The common areas were nice and the food was good at the tavern. We didn't eat at the other places but they seemed nice also. The room was a little small and could use some refressing. The main problem was the noise. We could hear people in the hall and in the room next to us talking and it was unsettling to think they could hear us talking. If I were staying longer I would have stayed in a cabin and will probably do so my next visit.
