- Robert (10/5): - Our stay was so off the charts amazing we're not sure how to even begin our review of the Bed and Breakfast ~ imagine being your grandmother's favorite grandchild and walking into her home and being embraced by the aroma of gingerbread cookies and every other smell that is so delicious it takes your breath away and then imagine being greeted by the proprietress {that would be Jill} and warmly greeted and welcomed to this amazing property that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places ~ taken on a tour of the beyond beautiful home then taken to your room that is even more perfect than the brochure shows and then awaken to the most delicious mouthwatering homecooked breakfast imaginable...joining the hosts Scott and Jill and other guests for breakfast ~ coffee and conversation memory making and good cheer! Jill and Scott thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being the beginning of our unbelievably amazing Alaska Arctic Journey ~ Bobby and Sharman
- Linda S. (8/5): - Very interesting house history and charming Victorian interior. Original boiler and pipes in the lower level and historic photos are fun to see. Lighting in common rooms is rather dim though and furnishings could use some attention. There are too many antique decorative items everywhere, making spaces cluttered (that observation might just be a reflection of my personal tastes). Staff is friendly and the kitchen is well stocked with 24/7 beverages and snacks. The location is good for walking to/from central Fairbanks.

They also were interesting in that they housed firefighters who had been working to control wildfires threatening some of Alaska's beautiful natural areas.

- Kurt (10/5): - This was a great choice for our accommodations. Unlike a typical hotel, the beautifully restored residence and interaction with owners Scott and Jill provided a personal experience that was central to our enjoyment of our trip. The breakfast each morning was wonderful and it was truly enjoyable to be able to chat with Scott and Jill about themselves, the history of the property and the area. Their knowledge of Alaska was extensive and provided an excellent basis for making the most of our first time there. We especially appreciated advice on ways to view the aurora, locations for optimal opportunity and their perspectives on how to approach the experience. Prior to our arrival, Scott reached out via text to provide every bit of information we needed to arrive and access the home easily (make sure to include your phone and email contact data in your reservation information as this advance briefing made it easy for them to anticipate our needs, timing and make sure we had immediate access as while they are located nearby, they are not always in site). Two of our three nights had no other guests in the house so we had the place to ourselves and in the third we enjoyed talking with and sharing experiences with the nice couple who arrived and joined us. Heating was radiant style, so it was comfortable without the blowing of forced air into the room, and all other utilities were fully modernized so the environment was excellent. Top notch all around and highly recommend.
- Simon (10/5): - We had the most amazing time staying here and Jill and Scott were fabulous hosts. The house itself is a piece of history - beautifully restored in victorian splendor. We had a grand tour and were able to use the gorgeous lounge. Our room was super comfy and had everything we needed. Breakfast was amazing! It was different every day and was really delicious. Our lovely hosts provided so many great suggestions for restaurants and fun things to do that it made our trip to Fairbanks so memorable and we loved their company as well as other guests staying. The house is located easy walking distance to downtown and we usually walked to one of the great restaurant options for dinner. We plan to come back in summer to enjoy the porch swing. We will definitely be back in Fairbanks and will definatley try to stay here when we do.

The breakfasts were delicious. Cozy and comfortable rooms. I would recommend this place as a special splurge. Only caveat for me- the shower/bath was also historical and a bit quirky to use comfortably. Overall, highly recommend this special place.

We came in November to do an arctic circle tour and, obviously and as expected, there is not much to do in Fairbanks in November. The House had great history and being able to explore it (with the staff's permission) made this historian's stay extremely memorable. Breakfast was prepared for us every morning and it was far and above the best meals we had the entire trip. We loved every single part of this experience.

- Inbar (10/5): - This review is 5 stars only because we had Margo. Margo is an employee, she doesn’t own this B&B and she may or may not be there when you book it, so I would say this is a review qualifier. Margo was amazing, cooked the best breakfasts, provided all the information we needed, offered to drive us around, she does above and beyond her job at this hotel. She even went to the store to buy us specific dishes for breakfast. Never had that before in any B&B. This is a historic house, almost like a museum, where every room is decorated with antiques and where you can learn a lot about the history of Fairbanks and Alaska just from going from room to room. It is really fascinating. The decor is not modern, the bathrooms are old, but that’s the whole point. There is no TV anywhere in the house, but then again, there wasn’t a TV back in 1916 when this house was built. I would also say that the heating system is amazing. The kitchen is part of the public space here, which is unusual for a B&B, and that’s because no one lives here. It’s fully stocked with snacks and drinks and everything you need. We got special treats for our stay in our room as well, which had a fully functioning kitchen for our own private stay. The piano hasn’t been tuned since the Raegen administration, but did I say the house is full of antiques? Location is perfect, 2 minutes walking distance from downtown Fairbanks. Parking is not an issue unless the place is packed in the summer, but we’re there in September. The

Only issue is be forewarned, the clawfoot tub, while really cool, was very difficult to shower in. But we managed and I would highly recommend this property!

- Joseph (10/5): An amazing jewel of a place in Fairbanks - This was the end of our 3 week trip exploring Alaska, After some questionable hotels along the way, the Heritage House was a real treat, and a highlight we talk about all the time. The house itself is ornate, beautiful, and very comfortable (if very quirky and unique, this is no modern BnB!) Our host Margot was one of the best people we encountered over 3 weeks of travel! She went out of her way to make our stay pleasant and was super attentive. The house is nicely located, easy walking all over down town. We may return to Fairbanks just to stay here again!

The shower in our bathroom was a challenge as it was meant for very short people and there was nothing to hold on to to keep one's balance. Room was quaint and comfortable. It's walkable to downtown; the home itself is perfect! - David (10/5): Wonderful time - This is an amazing Heritage home built in 1916 and decorated to suite. Each room is named after a local historical figure and each is decorated uniquely. The location is perfect as actually in walking distance of good restaurants, and the Chena river. Everything else is an easy drive.

The ceilings are from another era and it is as if you are staying in a mansion of yore. It is also full of heritage items. Tulsey was a wonderful host. Breakfasts were good. A few minor complaints: there were no tissues in the apartment, the towels were threadbare and the chairs so wobbly you were afraid to sit on them. But all in all I would highly recommend the place and definitely stay there again -- especially if I were staying for a long period of time.

- William (10/5): Fairbanks - Could walk to the Cultural Museum downtown which was worth seeing. We also enjoyed the Museum at the University of Alaska. The house was beautifully restored and the breakfasts were great! Would definitely stay here again if we return.

- Carl (10/5): Great B&B in Fairbanks, Alaska !!’ - This was our first time in Fairbanks and we picked the Best Hotel. Upon our arrival, we were promptly greeted and made to feel right at home like family. Melanie is an excellent chef and created very appealing breakfast items with elegant presentations. Upon our next visit to Fairbanks, this place will be our only choice. I assure you that you will Love it tooooo.

- Patricia (10/5): Eight day stay in a different era! - The staff was wonderful and the house is beautiful. Because of the era of the building, the access to the beds under the eaves were difficult due to our ages. The shower head gave very little pressure but that would be the only thing we would have changed. The food was wonderful!

- LIsaV (10/5): - Loved: beautifully restored historic home in historic location and truly centrally located. Amazing staff. Amazing. Excellent communication, easy check-in, beautifully appointed dining area for a wonderful breakfast experience. Gives you the “Alaskan experience.“ very comfortable home, very comfortable sleeping. Not so much: The only exception is The Bunker Room which is simply by reason of its location and there’s nothing to be done to mitigate the squeaking floors early in the morning. Wonderful, fantastic room but best chosen by early risers.
- Jeanne (10/5): Fabulous!!! - We really loved staying at the h Alaska Heritage House B & B and we will definitely stay there again when we return to Fairbanks. The location is close to downtown and is in a quiet neighborhood. Room was large and beds were very comfortable; we liked that it had a mini refrigerator and coffee pot. Breakfast each morning was fantastic-great food! Melanie took such good care of us and we really enjoyed talking with her and getting her recommendations!

- Frances (10/5): Alaska Heritage House B&B - This is a great place to stay! Downtown is walking distance as is the public library. Nikki is the hostess-chef. She is in the culinary program at UAF. Breakfast was attractive and tasty. Period furniture, photos and books put us into the early 1900’s. Very comfortable bed, nice room. Hope to go again.
- God (10/5): - Exactly what the name says, the owner had a vision in its restoration. Highly recommended for its history, furnishing, kitchen, staff, and breakfasts. Centrally located, with bus stops just outside the front door.
