Guest Reviews
- Catherine (8/5): Cute boutique hotel in the heart of Whiskey Row - The location was great, right in the middle of Whiskey Row. There were a lot of restaurants, cafes, shops, and bars all in walking distance. The room was cute and clean, and looked like the pictures online. The Keurig coffee was good and the water pressure in the shower was great. The bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet. They also had plenty of free parking in the garage behind the hotel. I just turned 60 so walking up the steep stairway with my luggage wasn't as easy as it used to be. The bathroom lighting was dark and hard to see my face when putting makeup on, even when using the smaller mirror they provided. I couldn't figure out how to turn on/off the TV so just kept pushing buttons on the remote until it worked. On my last day, I noticed instructions for it on the bottom of a pile of pamphlets on the nightstand. Finally, they had ice available but a mini-fridge would be a great improvement.
- mikedV8242RU (10/5): Amazing - Everything was amazing great place to stay close to it all. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Get the specials for your wife she will love the flowers plus everything else.
- Cynthia (10/5): -
- Donald (2/5): The old should have been made new - The location There's no elevator very steep and long steps definitely not for anyone with any disabilities like us.claws foot tub was beautiful but not accessible for usThere seemed to be exposed lead paint in the bathroom
- Shirley (9/5): Great stay -
- Sharon (10/5): Great experience - Location & very clean
- Jim (8/5): -
- JanetLJ (10/5): Charm and convenience - This small hotel couldn't be closer to the "action" of Prescott -- on Whiskey Row, across from the Courthouse Plaza, a few doors away from the visitors' bureau and from the Western Heritage Center. And restaurants all around. Staff were friendly and helpful.
My room was mid-hallway and on a Friday night was NOT noisy. The room was clean, western motif was not overdone, and has a ceiling fan, which I very much appreciate. Bathroom is very large for in a historic hotel. Anyone with any kind of mobility issue might find the large clawfoot tub a challenge.
I would definitely stay here again.
- Rebecca (8/5): Can’t wait to be back! - Old hotel, but very quaint and location was awesome. Rickety floors but understandable..
- Guillaume (9/5): Perfect location and super cozy - Wat een superleuk hotel! Ik denk dat vooral de ‘coziness’ het vrouwelijk publiek zal aanspreken. Geen echte nadelen anders dan dat je wel even je koffer de trap op moet sjouwen.
- McGhee (10/5): The stay was very enjoyable for the holidays! - I love the location and the detail of the room to keep it authentic to a historical boutique hotel.
- Chad (10/5): -
- Mariateresa (8/5): Charming historical hotel in downtown Prescott - Charming historical hotel right downtown Prescott. Convenient spacious garage close by. There was a wedding one night and the music was so loud that made the floors tremble.
- Derek (10/5): Steve created us at the door and helped us with our bags. Exceptional customer service - Steve at the front desk was amazing. It was exceptionally clean with a great location.

- Sarah (10/5): Soooo charming, full of amenities and completely perfect! - It’s so charming and in a perfect location!! Everything is so clean and nicely maintained. The staff were all very accommodating and kind. Parking garage is right behind the back door and free. Rooms are SO cute!!! There were so many thoughtful amenities that I’ve never seen before- black towel for make up remover and face washing, glass glasses for water and a filtered refillable water station, all cups are wrapped for sanitation, white noise machine by bed, real creamer for Kurig coffee, suckers on the bed, etc… Nothing bad at all, I highly recommend, it’s completely perfect.
- Nanette (10/5): - Enjoyed my solo adventure.
- John (10/5): - Enjoyed
- Shayna (10/5): - Convenient, safe, free parking, room was very clean, air-conditioning available
- emilio (10/5): Whiskey Row - Great experience, warm detailed check-in. The hotel is in the best location in town. Right in the middle of Whiskey Row, very walkable area.
Free parking.
- Matthew William (8/5): - Late night music and noise easily penetrates old windows. Didn't stop until 2:30 am on Saturday
- Brian (10/5): - Super cute. The AC is somewhat annoying due to noise. Overall we loved it though and would stay here again.
- Amy (9/5): -
- Johna (10/5): Great place and great location! - Right on Whiskey Row! My room looked incredible and the price was good. They didn’t have breakfast but there were plenty of options nearby
- Christina (8/5): Great location to walk to different restaurants and museums. - Very clean. Loved the old vintage style.
- Aubrie (10/5): -
- Pam (10/5): - Best stay ever in Prescott we both are from Prescott but moved away but come to visit our family. We’ve been staying different places and this is far the best stay !
- James Ya'akov (9/5): Old West Charm that delivers - Very good representation of the Old West genre, with modern comforts. Well, there is no elevator, so there is a steep walk up two flights of stairs; my wife and I just considered it to be good exercise after the generous portions at the local restaurants in walking distance.
- anne (4/5): - No room service for linen change, noise at night from courthouse Commons, no night staff
- Peterson (9/5): -
- Doug (8/5): small room but very nice -
- Michael (8/5): Fun Stay - Overnight stay to get away from the Phoenix heat for a night. Fun hotel right in the middle of whiskey row.
- Muna (7/5): - Lobby was not well attended. I had to call if I needed to check in or to ask for my bags to be held. The lobby and hotel was either locked or felt like a ghost town.
- Kimberly (9/5): Great place, great location, great service, and great history ! - Location /bed comfort. Stairs
- Eric (8/5): -
- MrsLoRo (9/5): A fun, first-time visit! - The historic location and the history of this property. Our room was charming and the bathroom was bigger than I expected. Pretty good amenities for a small room. Pretty nice view of the patio where they had vendors and karaoke. Steve and Nick were fantastic and had some great stories and fun facts about their hotel and the Prescott area. Will definitely come back! The stairs are steep and creepy, especially the ones in the back. It comes with the property, though, and makes a fun story!
- A7609JDmonicam (10/5): History and Beauty Combined - I loved my stay at the Grand Highland. Not sure how lush and historic are combined, but they do it so, SO well! I stayed in the Mt. Vernon room; the bed and pillows were amazing. Im not a bath person, but who could resist in the beautiful clawfoot tub. They provide a noise machine and ear plugs, hello....Whiskey Row... but if you're a light sleeper, I'd recommend a room away from the alley. It's ideal for when your stay is more casual or for pleasure as there isn't a lot of counter room without having your items in multiple places to get ready for your day. Service from Nick was quick and kind, and I loved being in the heart of Whiskey Row. I can't wait to visit again.
- Stanley (10/5): - Had an excellent stay. Extremely friendly front desk staff and nice clean room with a great bed. Definitely will be back!
- Favro (10/5): If you want a simple, historic, clean, easy place to stay.... this is IT! - We loved the historic location! We shopped and ate in the square right outside. The room was very clean, loved the bathtub too! The bed was COZY, and I actually slept in! We will definitely stay again. can't think of anything
- Cynthia (10/5): - We loved this room. It fit in with the atmosphere of the old west. The building is old, but well maintained and cute. We wanted a place within a short walk to shopping, restaurants and bars. It was exactly what we wanted.
- Jamie (10/5): - Great classic place to stay
- Michelle (10/5): -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stuart (10/5): Clean, friendly and comfortable. - It was historical.
- Jennifer (6/5): - The room was charming and comfortable for its size. I had read they were small. I had not anticipated not having a table or desk to sit at.There was a folding chair and tv table, but I even had trouble finding a spot to place that so I could eat a takeout meal.
I arrived a few minutes after five to find a sign in a side door to text for a code. I had been hoping for help getting my suitcase up the insane staircase. Luckily, I was strong and steady enough to take it one step at a time.
There was no previous information given about parking, but luckily the very friendly owner of the shop next door told me about the public lot behind the hotel for future use.
There was a filtered water bottle filler in the hall, but the water still tasted bad. There were bags of ice in a tiny fridge beneath that, with no sign saying it was in there.
In some of the advertising, a free breakfast had been mentioned. I'm not usually one for breakfast, however there was no mention of it ( or really much useful information ) in the room. There was a tiny coffee machine in the room and strangely small cups.
One morning, I went out the front hoping to meet the owners finally and grab some coffee from the breakfast area.
There were two people there. No coffee and certainly no breakfast in sight. Made a minute of small talk and escaped to a great place called The Local for breakfast.
- Kyli (8/5): Great stay, quaint accommodations in a cute town - clean, cute, friendly staff
- Julie (8/5): Great value for location - On whisky row, walking distance to bars and restaurants. Rustic, historic feel Bed was worn out on one side. Room small but adequate for one night
- Christa (10/5): - We enjoyed the history and the unique decor. The staff were helpful. Great location!
- Rochelle (8/5): Very good -
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stacie (10/5): Exceptional -
- HelenBill (10/5): Highly recommended - Brilliant renovation of historic hotel . Extremely comfortable room and bathroom. Busy area but addition of noise cancelling machine in bedroom was inspired and really worked. Prescott was unexpectedly worth visiting, really nice town. Convenient free parking garage just behind hotel.
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Kerry Joy (10/5): - Very cute building and room. Staff was very friendly, outstanding customer service !
- Dean (10/5): Highly recommend! - Great hotel. Small but well furnished rooms. Great staff. Located right on Whiskey Row. Large parking structure right behind the hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointed - Knew it would be historic but very expensive for what we got and nothing like the picture very misleading
- Keith (8/5): - Historic hotels, windows let in lots of light, even at night.
Great downtown location with lots to do in the area.
- M2790WNmikep (10/5): Great base for 3 day weekend - The Grand Highland was a great base for a three-day weekend exploring the areas north of Phoenix. We stayed in the Grand Highland Room, which has a comfy King bed, deep soaking clawfoot tub, and bay windows overlooking historical Whiskey Row and Courthouse Square. We loved strolling through the Courthouse Square and the very short walk to the Whiskey Row shops, restaurants and lively bars that featured talented musical performers. It was great starting point for separate day trips to Sedona and Grand Canyon. Staff was very accommodating.
- Raymond (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (9/5): Highly recommend - Historic hotel right in centre of Prescott. Very comfortable, well renovated. Very good touch of white noise machine for bedroom so sleeping not a problem despite busy nightlife location.
- Lohse (10/5): Exceptional -
- Swan (10/5): Historic and beautiful! - The after hours check in was easy and so well done by the hotel. My room was so comfortable and felt unique as well as historic.
- Jared (10/5): Perfect location.great staff -
- christopher (10/5): Super Stay - Fabulous hotel on Whiskey. Host was super helpful. A really wonderful stay. It’s perfect. Don’t expect 4 or 5 star Luxury. But expect an old world hotel with a very comfortable bed and super clean and appointed room - and you’re in for a treat. Very Prescott. I was more than surprised. Highly recommend.
- Marie (8/5): Very good -
- angelica (10/5): - Clean
- joan (10/5): - Great location. Friendly staff and clean!
- Schwab (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lawrence (10/5): - Location, clean,
- John (10/5): Grand Highland Completes the Whiskey Row Vibe - The attendants at the front desk during the day shift, Steve, and the night shift, Nick, were very helpful and cordial. The property is historic, and as such, its antiquity is well-preserved with tasteful modern conveniences updated where appropriate to make your stay most enjoyable. Overnighting at the Grand Highland is a crucial element for the full Prescott "Whiskey Row" experience.
- Cheryl (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kristi (10/5): Great little boutique motel - This place is so cute!! I will definitely make this my go to place to stay on whisky row from now on. Clerks were so helpful and friendly.
- Brendan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jesse (10/5): - Always great at the grand !!!
- Lori (6/5): Pleasant - The bed was comfortable, lots of pillows, stayed fairly warm. Nice glassware. The lighted magnifying mirror is a nice touch. Desk clerks were friendly and helpful. Window leaked from the rain and got water on the bed!! AC/heat remote to the unit is so old and faded that it was difficult to use. White noise machine didn't work. When I mentioned the leaking window to the desk clerk on the morning we were checking out, he told me it is an old hotel and that the top window does slide down. He even demonstrated the top sliding window, in the sitting area window on the 2nd floor. I don't know if he was thinking that we opened the window in the rain or what?
No desk clerk after 5pm till the next morning.
- Kevin (8/5): - It’s not a quiet area at night, so if you like to stay up late you’re good. Rooms are small with very little counter space. Room was nice, bathroom was nice and everything is within walking distance.
- Rayas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): We will definitely be back. - Amazing staff, and a very fun place to stay.
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional -
- michaelkevintapscott (10/5): Best Historic Hotel in Downtown Prescott - Historic hotels that is very clean and has modern amenities. The best location on Wiskey Row in downtown Prescott. Their prices are the lowest in this area and the staff could not be nicer! We've stayed here several times as well as many other places in downtown Prescott. This is always our first pick. Note: all rooms are on the second floor and they do not have an elevator.
- Maria (10/5): - Steve was an excellent host!
- Charlene (8/5): - Great service, room was unique and clean.
- Jim (8/5): - The room was nice, the bed was a touch on the hard and had a valley in the middle. Also the walls are kinda thin, we could here noises from next to us and above us. However, it was in the middle of Whiskey Row and walking distance to lots of shops
