- L1526LKsarahg (10/5): Excellent value for money. - We originally booked here for 1 night and were really impressed with the quality of the furnishings and facilities we booked for a second night . The reception staff couldn't have been more helpful, very knowledgeable of the area and happy to give suggestions on where to eat etc. There is everything you need here for a. Very comfortable stay for a week. A lovely patio with picnic table and side view of the lake which is just across the road. There is a communal washing machine available as well. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped.
- Kerry (10/5): - The little.extras. Super.soft thick bath towels, beds very comfortable. All kitchen facilities & utensils modern and plentiful. Good supply of products for use. Close to town walking distance. Lovely place to.stay. Nothing

- Tamsin (10/5): Comfortable, clean, homely and amazing location. - Great location, so homely, LOVED proper milk in the fridge, lovely tea and coffee, old school chocolate and bag of lavender on the pillow. We were offered umbrellas to walk into town. Right on Lake front with incredible views to water/mountains. Lovely warm room, large lounge area and excellent bathroom. Generous towels and nice quality, would highly recommend this Lodge to anyone visiting. My only comment here and did not affect our stay was the step into the spa for the shower could be difficult for some and slippery- be good to have a non slip mat for showering.
- Sarah (6/5): - Location Decor a little outdated , felt the bedspread/quilt required a wash
- Richard (10/5): Superb. Our kids (11&12) initially questioned the onbience but quickly seemed to appreciate how good the place was. - A little charm of old school but we really loved that about the place. Reminded me of growing up in the 90s in Australia.
Everything we needed was there. Everything we ask for was accommodated. It was fantastic. Clean, organised and effective.
- Alison (8/5): - Lakeside, handy, quiet with parking. Easy arrival, an equipped kitchen., comfortable. A little dated. The shower over a large spa bath was a clamber over the side and slippery. The windows didn't open wide for fresh air at night.
- Carol (9/5): - Handy walk to town centre and spa bath was lovely, spacious unit.
- Nicole (8/5): This place is nice but only thing it was expensive especially when you paid in NZ money. - Beautiful view and close to town. The value of the stay it was pretty expensive for 2 nights $860

- Cakemaker12 (10/5): - Lovely apartment right on the edge of the lake with great facilities for cooking etc. comfy bed and seating. Carefully thought out apartment with everything you need for a comfy stay. Great toiletries and excellent shower over a spa bath. Couldn't fault it. Easy check in and were able to stay a second night as we had to cancel our Doubtful sound overnight cruise at the last minute 😓. Excellent reception staff. Parking right outside your apartment. Outdoor seating with lake view from side for each apartment. Nothing, it was excellent.
- Despina (8/5): Was a perfect short stop on our way to Milford Sound. - Was in a great location and the beds are super comfortable! Loved the view of the lake at our doorstep and the delicious eateries close by. We booked for 4 adults but only 3 beds were provided.
- Loredana (5/5): Very disappointed - The only thing I like about this hotel was it was close to lake and town center … The room was out dated it was like I was back in the 80’s … Needs a major revamp , we also had a funny smell in my room 😩
- Andrew (7/5): Great location needs a little freshing up - Location Rooms a little basic
- Diane (8/5): Great location - Great location, clean, comfortable, happy staff
- John (6/5): - Location Vinyl flooring was dirty. Shower was lukewarm. Very noisy from the outside whether traffic or people talking sitting at there picnic tables.
- Jade (8/5): -
- 82SteveB (6/5): Good location. WiFi didn’t work. - Clean, good size accommodation in an excellent location. Very comfortable. Beautiful gardens. Breakfast delivered through a hatch in the wall but sadly the continental breakfast didn’t have any meat or cheese. The WiFi didn’t work during the whole of our stay despite several promises to fix it. No safe in the room, which is a must for us.

- Thea (2/5): Night of horror - Location and it was clean ...the chocolates left on our pillows. The rooms are not soundproof and theIr was a Van load of drunk men who made such a noise that we could not sleep. Until way after thre in the morning . They ran up and down to each other's rooms, knocking and pulling on our door handle ...yelling etc....the establishment should have stricter rules as there are quite a few pubs, walking distance in the area.... My low rate is due to this and the fact that I shared this in a mesg to the establishment with no reply back from them...
- CathyC625 (10/5): Very pleasant stay - Really liked stating here - spacious, quiet, comfortable and clean. Helpful staff. Lovely little outside area with a view of the lake which is about a minute away! The road it's on is very quiet, no noise.
- Jenny (9/5): - Clean, comfy great position close to lake town centre. Shower. Low pressure for warm shower, almost no pressure for hot shower
- Lynette (10/5): -
- Federica (8/5): - Ottimo posizione.

- Natalia (9/5): Great Location - Beautiful lodge with stunning lakefront views, just a short walk to local cafes. Cozy, clean, and well-equipped - the perfect base to explore Te Anau and Fiordland. A group of 16 of us stayed here after completing the Routeburn Track, and it was ideal for our stay.
- Charlotte (10/5): Great location and great room - Really comfy beds
Parking outside door
Kitchen facilities
Friendly staff Nothing
- David (10/5): Great location and accommodation, lovely town - Spacious and well equipped, although we’re 4 adults there was ample room to chill
- Adele (9/5): Good value for comforable stay. - Not included. Nothing. The WIFI didn't work but that could happen anywhere.
- Frances (9/5): -
- Mervyn (9/5): Bed was very soft -
- Lisa (9/5): Cosy, Comfortable, Peaceful & Great Location - Location was fantastic, space was very clean and comfortable. Bed was comfortable and was lovely to have a spa bath. Cold water and milk supplied along with nice coffee and teas. I liked that they reused their bottles for water and milk reducing waste. I loved that the room had its own bbq table out front to so you could sit in the sun and enjoy the lake views. The gardens at reception were gorgeous, you can tell the owners take pride in and good care of their property.
- Deb (9/5): -
- Karen (7/5): Comfortable - Close to lake, cozy feel, bathroom nice Stains on chair, outdated

- donnapM9463SG (10/5): A home from home. - We loved our stay here, staff friendly and helpful, lodge spotlessly clean, laundry very handy, lodge very spacious with a sofa and dining area. Spa bath was a treat. Each lodge also has its own picnic bench where we watched the sunset as we sat outside with a glass of local wine, just bliss.
The gardens are so impeccable folk stop constantly to admire. Shops and tourist centre nearby and so many walks. We only wish we were staying longer.
- Rachael (10/5): - We loved our stay at Lakefront. Staff were wonderful, the room was clean and very comfortable and the hotel is in a great location and just across from the water. We would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again. Property also had a coin operated laundry room which was extremely convenient :-)
- PATRICK (8/5): -
- Jonathan (8/5): -
- Tamara (7/5): - Close to the lake & near centre of town
- PARAWEE (10/5): -

- Bernardine (8/5): -
- Shuli (5/5): Acceptable place to drop by on the way to Milford sound. - The location is great. The facilities are old.
- Rafael (10/5): Will be back - Perfect location; great service Close to everyone. Cosy and comfortable
- Tamara (5/5): Look it was ok. It did the job of breaking up the trip from Queenstown to Milford sound. - Although dated it was very clean. Unfortunately, the shower experience was disappointing. The water pressure and temperature were difficult to balance — it was either very hot with little to no pressure, or a better pressure but only lukewarm, making it uncomfortable to stay under. Even when the water was hot, only part of the shower felt warm, which made the experience less enjoyable overall.
We also found that the power points in the bedroom were not working. After checking the switchboard inside the room, it appeared a safety switch had been tripped prior to our arrival, as this occurred before we plugged in any appliances. It may be worth checking this as part of the room setup before guests arrive in future.
- Leopold (1/5): - Nothing Its really strange that this type of facilites can exist. What is wrong with acomodation in New Zealand. Is it posible that there is a limitation for number of new objects so old ones can do what they want in terms of prices and quality of service.
- Dana (10/5): Had an awesome relaxing 2 nights at the Lakefront lodge. - Awesome hosts, comfy room, great spa, everything you need.
- Kimberly (7/5): Good place to stay with good facilities but Te Anau accommodation was expensive - Good place to stay with good facilities including large shared laundry Expensive for what it was
- clairewD3081JP (6/5): New Zealand tour Te Anua accommodation - Located quite near the main centre where the shops, bars and restaurants are situated. Staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms are well equipped the furnishings and decor is dated but homely.
- V8594SImarym (10/5): Comfortable base for Doubtful Sound Cruise - Great location and base for Doubtful Sound cruise. Our very friendly hosts went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable despite the stormy weather. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and warm with everything we needed. The laundry was a bonus.
- Kanchana (9/5): Lovely cozy rooms and good amenities. - They had kept kitchen so well, so was the bathrooms with all required things like from shampoo to moisturiser, bath salt too. Didn’t expect it to be so good and clean. The entrance doors are bit of motel design. May be more plants or something. It’s not bad at all how, but to increase its beauty.
- Susanne (8/5): -
- Dianne (9/5): Lovely stay in Te Anau - So relaxing. Great location right by the lake. Walking distance to cafes, restaurants, pub within the township. The rooms are cosy and the kitchen well equipped. Lovely place to stay if in Te Anau N/A
- Chris (7/5): - Ww had large one bed room with spa. Everything provided with thougjtful inclusions in bathroom.& kitchenette. All good.
- Cassandra (6/5): Hot summer night...... - Loved the location and that it was within walking distance to everything. The room was absolutely too hot, even when we first arrived it was like walking into an oven. There is no way to cool down the place in the summer other then opening the windows/door or a small plug in fan that just barely pushed around a bit of coolish air.
If you are at all heat sensitive like me be cautious booking this place during the summer if you plan to spend any time in this room as it didnt cool down till around sunset.
- Rebecca (8/5): -
- Victoria (8/5): Comfy short stay for a family of four - The couch with recliners was lovey after a few hours hiking. It was very warm in the room, it would have been nice to have a window open but there were no flywires.
- Ruth (9/5): -
- Zhengyang (10/5): Stunning - The location was amazing, just across from the lake. You can catcj the lake view, snow mountain view by just stepping out the balcony. The room is comfy, and we love the welcome chocolate and electric warm towel machine. All is perfect.
- Gonnord (9/5): -
- Urasate (9/5): - Nice location next to lake. Large room with kitchen and laundromat.
- Judy (9/5): -
- Leonie (9/5): -
- Iain (8/5): - Staff, location, room size and comfort.
Nichts.
- sjvv2012 (8/5): Well kept, clean amd tidy - This is a great little motel. Our room. Was clean and tidy, the grounds were verywell kept and the service was friendly and welcoming. The candles in the bathroom and bath salts were a nice addition.
Would definitely stay again.

- Nirit and Ron (9/5): -
- Bwbachod17 (10/5): Great motel - We stayed here for 3 nights. The motel is super clean and in a great location. The check in process was seamless and the owner was extremely helpful. Would 100% recommend.

- Capt. Robert McKay Gray (7/5): The Only Thing Missing Is Yogi Bear & Ranger Smith. - Lake Lodge is situated just off the Street that runs along the Lake edge, this in no way impairs your views from this well laid out hotel. Te Anau is a Scenic Town, that reminded me of a "Jellystone Park" Canadian type Great Lakes tourist town, the kind you see in the movies.
With a solid outside wooden Picnic table style setup at your front door, it's easy to sit & have your arvo snack & sippers sucking up the sunshine & the lake views.
The similarities with Canada doesn't end with the Town look-a-like set-Up & the views. Lake Lodge Motel even has it's own Mountie who patrols the footpaths & verge parking with aplomb. We encountered the Motel Mountie when we parked our SUV on the street outside our appointed Cabin type room front door.
Whilst having sippers in the late afternoon sunshine at our outdoor picnic table, the Mountie sprung upon us, telling us, "aye'll get you to move your car, otherwise you'll send a smoke signal to Mobile Home & Van people it's OK to PARK HERE.
So even though it was a Public Street & the fact we'd had a few sippers, my Wife moved our SUV to the tight US/Canadian type Motel Parking around the back of the hotel to appease an obviously frustrated Mountie.
At first I attempted to explain to the Motel Mountie that I had asked at reception about the parking out front of the motel, as my wife didn't like the American style Right hand-side parking out back, so we thought that it would be OK to park the Hire Car SUV out front.
Next thing we got a spool of Mountie Rhetoric about NOT WANTING Moblie Homes or Vans parking in the street, "you'll muck up the views for everyone & you don't want that do you? ". So we moved our hire car SUV, other than watch a Mountie meltdown. This proved the ol'adage correct, "A Mountie always gets his man". The Cabin/room type set up was very good but our room had a SPA BATH with shower inside the bath.
The Wife & I being both ex-sports people, have bad knees & this slippery setup was not good for us. This bathroom "karfuffle" was in NO WAY THE MOTELS FAULT, I'll just have to pay better attention next time when booking a room.
- Tony (8/5): A nice place to stop for an overnight - The room was comfortable and the upgrade given to us by the host so that we could have 2 adjacent rooms was great The accommodation is advertised as having a view and given it's name we were expecting a view across the lake. However, you could only see the lake when standing at the window and looking to the left. The view out of our rooms was of a pavement and road across to the fence of another property. There was quite a lot of pedestrian traffic so the sense of privacy was lost if you wanted to try and enjoy the view. If it wasn't for this issue the property would have got excellent across the board
- Ruth (8/5): Very convenient stay. - Good position , close to town.
Very friendly staff, very clean.
Nice touches spa bath, good linen, nice comfy furnishings, lavender sachets, chocolates and good sized kitchen. Hotel at right angle to Lake, so no view from room.
Could see from outdoor table but insects prevented going outside as still night.
Heater permanently on in room .
Could not be switched off except by turning off at fuse box.
Took all night to cool down.
Would have been 26 to 28 deg!
- Kylie (9/5): - The bed was so comfortable. Great location
- Therese (10/5): Definitely coming back - Hands down the best place we have ever stayed in Te Anau, location was perfect but best of all were the small touches that made our stay one of the best - luxurious towels, lovely warm room, lightly scented pillows, cold water in the fridge and the room was exceptional clean and comfortable - can't rate highly enough. Ps the gardens are beautiful
- Adam (9/5): Great for one night stay - Comfortable big rooms. Everything you need for overnight stay. Bathroom was just not comfortable. Small. Sink with two bathroom taps just doesn't make any sense and shower is without shower handset.
- Don (10/5): Great spot and would stay again - Great place with nice touches. Zero
- 203TonyT (10/5): Great room close to town centre - Lakefront Lodge is a great place to stay with good sized and comfortable room and a friendly, helpful person to check you in.
Outside each room is a table and chairs for you to enjoy the outdoors. It’s also very convenient to the town centre which is only a few minutes walk away.
- Marinda (10/5): Wonderful accomodation and great location. Staff excellent service in assisting us with check in times - Location & comfort in stay
- John (10/5): - Great unit nicely presented.

- Navigator32295916093 (10/5): Loved staying here, wonderful people. - We stayed for 2 days purely to go to Milford Sound and were hit with disaster after disaster. A wild storm broke, the road to the Sound was blocked by landslide and avalanche, electricity failed, a state of emergency was declared and the only thing that didnt let us down was the wonderful people at the Lakefront Lodge. Nothing was too much trouble, yes, everything that happenned to us was out of their control but I had no trouble recommending staying there with them whilst they cheerfully did everything they could to make our stay memorable and comfortable. Highly recommended. The premises, although dated, were clean and well appointed and recently refurbished.
